    Tamdao by Diptyque is my all time favourite perfume. such a fabulous score for Qatar to feature it, and a lovely and sophisticated soft product offering. i also think it's very clever - it's an incredibly soothing and cuddly perfume, and strangers and friends alike almost always seem to lean in and ask what it is (and all of my dogs have particularly loved it!), so i can only imagine that having it waft through the cabin makes for an even more peaceful atmosphere, and calmer customers. gotta love crowd control through top notch perfume! wishing you safe and wonderful travels, and all the best. your videos are a delight, thank you 🌻

    I flew in a QSuite from Doha to London 4 days ago, and it lived up to expectations, for the most part. Good food, excellent wine, although I didn't think the port was all that good. The one slightly false note - to me - was when one of the cabin crew put her head round the door before take off, and said she'd like to get a champagne flute and come and sit next to me. I realise this was a joke of course, but I still found it slightly disconcerting. But perhaps I'm just being hypersensitive. I look forward to the next time I get to fly with them.

    Great video Chris. Largely through Miles, we have just done Stockholm-Doha-Adelaide and back on the 787-800 and 777 QSuite. 787 was really good, with a lovely crew. My wife and I had window seats, and the crew then set up lunch for us together in the middle seats. Top marks. Doha-Adelaide was full both ways. Seat and food/drink were excellent, but service was different. Out from Doha, the crew were stressed, and it showed. Back from Adelaide, they were in total control and it was fantastic. As always, the crew makes or breaks it. Qatar lounges in Stockholm and Adelaide are really poor by comparison. They used to use the Qantas lounge but now use the Pearl; really not good and lets them down. Qatar are still a class act, and Doha is a breeze: the new Garden Lounge is really good.

    Hi! I will watch the video with a lot of expectation: until a few months ago, I would have surely booked a fly with Qatar, but since I live in Italy and my next trips will likely be to Japan, I have seen that they have changed the types of flights, they are doing almost everything as a "codeshare" thing with JAL (which in itself it is not a bad thing) and thus the chances for me to have a Qsuite on the longest leg (from Doha to Japan) are drastically reduced.... and the price has steeped up.... the quality of services is said to have dropped too...also the times of departure ad arrivals for the flights I would like to use are very odd unless one flies with a VERY overpriced option flight.... how is it? and why did they change so much?

    • @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition

    • @axios101
      @axios101 9 месяцев назад

      @@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition After seeing the video:
      WHEN everything is all right and one really gets the Qsuite then everything is probably under control (save a "last minute plane change" because it still happens a lot)! The overall service seems to have recovered a bit since some "devastating" reviews...
      BUT for me, from Italy to Japan there is NO WAY to fly on a Qsuite: from Italy to Doha the flight is relatively short, thus no Qsuite at all, AND every outbound flight from Doha to Tokyo (Haneda) I have found until now seems to be operated in code-share with JAL..... while JAL is very good itself, there is NO Qsuite at all and the seats assigned to codeshare travellers are NOT the ones (in Skysuite) near the windows....
      Just add the price increase and horrible times of departure and arrivals (in Japan after the 23:00 almost everything but the bare essential services is NOT available....)
      Sadly my "dream" of flying in Qsuite to Japan has been ruined....😅

    I'm sadly not active on any META platforms anymore - would have loved to enter the giveaway 😢But apart from that; very nice and balanced review. You clearly put quite a bit of thought and time into this review. Those little interludes (eg; showing the (drinks)menu with the closeup slo-mo of the champagne/swirling glass of wine) looked visually stunning. Keep it going. Hope your account gains more followers in the future. Feels like a fresh breath of air; no clickbait, no drama.
    EDIT; I had the pleasure to fly C on QR from BRU to BKK and from HKG back to BRU back in 2023. It was on their "older" 788 and 380 seats, but I still enjoyed the experience a lot. It's not the most private seat, but if you consider the soft product, its still very much worth it and still a comfortable flight. I've also noticed that their fares skyrocketed recently, which is a shame. My previous itinerary, I've managed to book for about 1600 euros, but right now it its at least 3500, going up to 5000. Yikes

    Qatar airways quality is DROPPING. They no longer let you select both soup and appetizer. They were missing drinks from the menu on board .The chocolate box that has has room for two chocolates, now has one (too cheap to change box??). The ground staff enforces 15kg carry on for business class passengers (I have not seen this on any other biz class) and is just indifferent to passenger (could not be bothered to explain how to get into lounge).
    So qutar airways is being penny wise and pound foolish. Its quality IS DROPPING (emphasis deliberate)

    • @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition
      @TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition  9 месяцев назад +2

      I'm not so sure what other airline you're comparing this..... I've flown way over 1000 flights, many many of them in business and first. Not many give chocolate in the end at all. And my chocolate box did have 2 pralines in it.
      On all my flights with them I could have all I like, soup, plus all appetizers plus all main courses. So I guess you were only on one flight and there you got extremely unlucky..... Regarding luggage, every airline is slightly different. In business it's almost always 2 Pieces of hands luggage of 7-8kg each. The gulf carriers are all more or less the same.
      If you want big luggage you have to avoid most Asian airlines which almost all allow only 40kg of checked baggage, and instead go with European airlines, which allow 2x 32kg

      @@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition Appreciate your reply. I would never compare my experience with somebody who has flown 1000 flights. My comparison is as a United 1K and American Exec premium on JAL, Cathay, EVA, British, Alaska, Malaysian, Singapore ANA, Asiana, United, Air Asia and American. My comments are based on my last two flights on Qatar. Qatar did not do this in the past. Fussing about carry on (specially in biz class) is a hall mark of a low cost carrier.
      I hope I never come close to taking 1000 flights. I enjoy your reviews to fly vicariously. It is a good example of what airlines aspire to be .😃 Please keep doing them.
