I had this when I was a kid. loved it. don't remember the sounds being so crazy but it took alot of begging to get it. My grandmother ordered it finally. My older brother stepped on him broke off his arm and I wigged out and cut his arm with a curtain rod. it was the closest weapon to me so had to make it work. ahh the memories

Fun fact with G1 Galvatron's sound switch. The 3-way switch can actually be set in between the first and second and second and third positions to get two more sounds that are sort of like combined versions of the other two.
Never too late to review the classics. Love the review. I'd love to see a G1 Sixshot review.

Hmm I just realized that a lot of the reviewers that rarely reviews G1 stuff have been reviewing them lately since the announcement of the Titan Returns line. Peaugh also reviewed his G1 Skullcruncher cause he was hyped about the Generations deluxe one. I'm guessing people are cashing it on trying to review old stuff for the hype. Well I still welcome G1 reviews cause I rarely see them from decent reviewers.

Well it's going to look that way when you suddenly decide to review a toy that will have a Titan Returns version on top of saying you reviewed it and you broke a certain "code." And I do welcome g1 reviews like I said and there is nothing wrong to doing it; just the timing seem suspicious and all.

It's too bad I don't think Hasbro will ever take the Japanese G1 Galvatron reissue with cartoon colors and Matrix and release it here with an American voice chip.
It would be hilarious to have a G1 Galvatron reissue that screams out things like "WHO DISTURBS MY PLASMA BATH?!" and "please meet your end with dignity. I despise whiners!"

I really enjoy your G1 reviews since it is my favorite Transformers line and you are arguably the best transformers reviewer on RUclips so please do as much G1 reviews as possible
(Hears the toy noises) Parents of five-year-olds during the 80's must've IMMEDIATELY regretted putting batteries in this thing!
Also: I cannot help but feel partly responsible for my comment about EmGo's lateness when it came to reviewing DC Collectables Flash (since I realized he used that figure in the SXS Overclocker review end skit over four months back) may have contributed to the audio torture portion of this review.
I felt like after Cyclonus heard Galvatron's 'angry noise', Cyc could've said: "I'd hate to hear his happy noise..." only to be immediately followed by one of the other noises!

+emgo316 aww, now I don't have to ask what the late reference is from. I'll just say good review. it was fun seeing this toy finally in motion. I had the chance to get it from a corner store when I was younger for $20 but $20 may as well be $1,000 when you're 12 years old and don't have a job.

The most times we saw Galvatron in this mode was IN SPACE!

I used to have one, but I sold it after picking up Takara's purple re-issue about ten years ago. Love it. I can't wait for x-Transbots' take on him, after their Scourge was a hit, I trust them. Though the DX9 looks cool, too.

After checking my sub box and seeing this, I couldn't be more excited to see one of my favorite reviewers covering one of my favorite G1 characters. And the object of the review was a G1 toy, no less!

Dx9 Tyrant (the big one) is basically an upgrade to the old toy. As such, I would love a repaint of it in G1 colour scheme.

The sounds your Galvie makes aren't quite the original sounds he's supposed to make. The middle one is the one that sounds like it's supposed to albeit a little overpowered.

This Galvatron was very energy efficient. I had the same 9 volt battery in mine for ten years.

Somehow he missed the main reason that toy was so awesome.. You can HOLD it as a gun. there is page in the instructions for it. Also those sounds are off..his battery isn't charged fully. i know cause it doesn't match my g1.
replace the battery.. it'll make all the difference!

Sorry to say that your Galvatron is suffering from degradation of the 3 sounds it makes. Mine doesn't sound the same as it did originally either. The original sounds were less annoying...well slightly less.

It isn't accurate cause they designed the character before the the toy and the toy and then they changed the character design without changing the toy design
I remember seeing this Galvatron outside of his box on a KMart and transforming it way back in the day. One of the better G1 toys of that year, IMO. 😄
