Thanks Joe. Nice video. I've also got a 1.2 sxi 5 Door in 21b aswell. It's got bout 100,000 mls and runs really nicely. Hope to see you doing more videos like this one. Your a good mechanic and your good at explaining what's required to get it done well. Very professional. Cheers mate👍

If i got this correct not 100% sure but the outer part is FPM dont lubricate it or it will leak and the inner part must be lubricated its APM and seal moving part.
On the 1.3 the bottom cog of the timing chain is not keyed to the shaft so you can quite easily put the timing out unless the flywheel is locked.... be warned as the 1.2 looks exactly the same.
Hi there, I just want to ask about a video you made on removing restrictor washer from a cbf500, did you need to rejet the carbs after on the bike or notice any performance issues? I am looking at doing it on mine but am not sure if it will ruin the balance on the carbs. Id appreciate any help on it please. Many thanks
Hello mate, after removing the restrictor washers we didn’t rejet the carbs or have them balanced and it ran absolutely fine. As far as I remember the bike was never jetted differently even when the washers was put in. It is recommended to have the carbs rejetted and have them balanced but It’s up to you :) see how it runs when you take them out and go from there 👍
@@rollingwithjoe7562 Ok that sounds good, I will have a go and see how she is, as far as I know she has been restricted from day one to be used as a training bike some 25 years ago so this will be the first time running it to its potential. Thank you for the advice and help, my model is the 95 CB500 so your instructional video on the CBF is a good guide for me to follow. Thank you again :)
nice vid. ive got oil all around this area but my alternator was literally plastered in oil top to bottom coils are black, would this seal be causing oil there?

Nice video mate, is a crankshaft locking tool required to do this job? As i need to do this to my corsa, but dont want to risk slipping the timing, could you help me out please? Thanks
Hello mate, on this engine you don’t need a crankshaft locking tool. There is no risk in the timing moving when taking off the pulley👍 if you can use a impact gun to undo the crank bolt. If you don’t have a impact gun just undo it the way I did in the video. My crank bolt wasn’t that tight. Glad the video helped.
RollingWithJoe Hi mate thanks for your reply, yeah i havent got an impact gun, so will have to do it your way, wasnt sure as a few people said on corsa page on facebook that it needed locking due to the timing possibly slipping, guess ill just have to cross fingers and get on with it.. lol, cheers for the reply tho👌 and very descriptive how-to video👍
@@ItsAsboJxy you don’t need to because the chain is connected at the top part of the engine only way it will slip is if the chain was to snap but that wouldn’t happen
Not a daft question at all, just did the seal on my wife's car and there is no need to remove the pulley, you can just remove the centre bolt. I'm an HGV mechanic and did it in about an hour, my only concern is that I could push the Euro Car Parts Corteco seal in with my thumbs. Only other problem I had was I couldn't torque it up, our torque wrench was too long and hit the floor, so a bit of Locktite and gunned it up. Edit. I'm not happy with how easy that seal pushed in, so I'm going to replace it. I've just ordered a seal from our local factors, and its less than half what Euro's charged me! Euro's are getting expensive these days. Edit: Just fitted a different seal, the Corteco one was actually quite tight to pull out, about the same as the original, and the BGA replacement also just pushed in with my thumbs, so I'm confident it will be fine. Altogether a very easy job, just the belt can be a little tricky to get back.

Yes it will be the crank seal buddy. If left long enough it does cover the alternator in oil

Daft Question but couldn’t you have just removed the centre bolt from the pulley boss rather than removing the pulley first
