Lol the name “little moab” threw me off. I live just a few hours away from actual moab and here in Salt Lake City we also have a Little Rock pile named little moab.
I've had one of those for years and am pretty knowledgeable about them. if you want to add power, you need bigger mechanical fuel pump and injectors, with a bigger turbo optional. For just a mild bump, straight pipe it with 2" pipe. They'll accept 30x9.5 without mods but anything bigger needs cutting, which becomes a headache real fast, with the seats sitting above the wheel well.
@@clintbusuttil4848 No the 4m40 pump wont fit,but you dont need it,2.5" exhaust and shorten wastegate, turn the fuel up and it got well enuff,i had a Pajero SWB manual for over ten years, and put a clutch and 2cambelts waterpumps in it,and serviced every 5000kms,i was a logger then and used to tow big trailer loads of wood all the time, the 4D56T is a better motor imo than the 2.84m40,they have roller rocker on the cam,and are cheap on diesel, main thing is keep cooling system good, mine had big copper radiator not this plastic crap.

Just became a patreon today and i never realised how worth it it is. you get so much more content etc for just 4 quid a month. also the kei van looks fucking sick, i did get a little sad about the bus going but this is an amazing replacement.
Damn, that thing is sick. Skinny off-roaders always seemed like they would be scary to me. They have the high center of gravity that a traditional off road vehicle does but like half the track with, and I feel like it can't be too hard to flip on on its side lol Is it really that bad though? Edit: Sorry for calling it a Kei van, I don't know any better.
I would upgrade some of the underbody protection. The factory stuff isn't that strong. Also I'd like to see adjustable air ride instead of a normal lift, partly because it's something you haven't done before.
Cool little off-road Van... Can't wait to see more of it... My only question is Where do you find the Mods for it.. Are they only in Japan or can you Find them here in the America!
hell yeah dude, I've taken my old cherokee to that same place!! you gotta take a drive up to Tray Mountain just north of Helen. Its a great trail with some tricky spots, but very doable. .My old 89 cherokee was up and down it many times with just a 3" lift and all terrains. Theres lots of other great and beautiful trails in the area around there as well. . check it out! good vid too man, keep em coming. . missing the Volvo though
Glad to see my old van being cared for and put to good use. I purchased that Delica from Mendel's Garage in Philadelphia back in 2016, and drove it around the beaches and backroads of OBX for a couple of years. My Rhino decal is still intact :)
You seem scared of it falling over sideways. The L300 ( Delica ) 4x4 model before yours was capable of tilting 44 degrees from horizontal, according to the Mitsi specs. Drove one for 34 years, and you fall out of your seat before you reach the 44 degrees mark. They have a low centre of gravity. Hilux has a big clearance between the axles, which means in a high centre of gravity, and a tendency to fall over. I now have one like yours. Because of the limited wheel travel, they tended to have LSD's on the rear. To test, jack one rear wheel up, chock the front wheels, put it out of gear, and let off the handbrake. You should find it hard but possible to revolve the jacked up wheel. Feels like the handbrake is on. If someone has put normal hypoid oil in there, they you have a problem. LSD's have a gold coloured lable stuck on the diff. casing, viewed from the rear, usually covered over with dirt. Stop driving it like a girl.
Don’t worry it’s not going to tip. It isn’t top heavy. I have a cab over toyota 4wd van. I have a friend that lives in Taiwan that does parts. Let me know if you want his info. You should be able to turn the boost up a bit.
I used to ride in these with my dad in the mountains of Taiwan when I was a kid. The ride was so bumpy that I used to think, what a POS, but now I want one and willing to overpay for one.
I’m Looking to get one of these a L300 high top Would I be able to fit in it being 6”4 ? Just wondering cause I can’t test drive one where I am I have to get it shipped .
you love that 5 speed but it will be a bitch in the end 100% if your like going through tight areas or over a lot of rocks anywhere you have to ride that clutch 90% of the time you may witch you had an auto for sure if you ever do anything like that like rock crawling or tight trails or anything you have to ride that clutch trust me I had a manual Subbie and I have been thinking auto myself because it just wears the shit out the knee Driving expressways or cruising or dirt roads fine all day but man when you have to go thought some brought stuff you will understand so expect it like what you were doing is what majority of what I drive thought now imgain on and off that clutch for 4 to 5 hrs and the more you go out the worse it gets
If you plan on doing much more off-road like that do yourself a favour and remove the racks and everything off the roof to save you from a rollover, I’ve seen it and it it only takes a hole in the track and the weight of the car to shift on the suspension and the fun is over.
The purpose of the bus wasn't to off-road mountains and stuff tho xD if it was you woulda make it a 4x4 xD the point was to have a fair amount of space that's mobile and can tow things, that's why the engine was built xD you traded the tons and tons of space and comfort for a tiny van that's top heavy and 4x4 but i highly doubt it can do all that offroading with a trailer behind it towing another car xD aka pointless but still cool just the purpose is all wrong.
he did say in the last video that this isn't a replacement for a tow vehicle, and it's something that he's wanted for a really long time. no need to be an ass about another man's choices, it doesn't affect you.

You need to put an lsd or a locker in at least the rear, and do some kind of intercooler setup to keep the egt down and probably make a lot more power
Even if not to make more power just to make the power more efficient and useable
Yes I do! I'm not sure if a company makes a locker for these, but hopefully
@@_Gingium_ Chamonix and Jasper editions had rear LSDs, it's an 8" rear so fitting an ARB back there would be pretty straightforward I'd think
