      @@fianso6875 so glad someone else thinks this. I tried both the CSL & CSW didn't really click with either. Fanatec make superb pedals but I'm not convinced y their wheelbases or in my opinion overpriced wheels. If they'd made the F488 Challenge Edition wheel it would be £400! Another thing that annoys me, people say the TS-PC Racer feels notchy when not powered up. That's relevant how? Besides alot of direct drive wheels have the exact same feel, nothing to do with belts more to do with the motor. The TS-PC Racer is a very decent belt drive, with the F488 rim I think you'll struggle to get a better belt drive base altho' the CSW has a little more torque.

    I have this wheel since 1 year now. It was a big step forward from my G29 and I was really happy with it until I tested a fanatec csl yesterday. It's incredible how smoother the fanatec is comparing to the ts pc when you know they are both at the same price range ! (+ I thought that the "quick release" system would not be a problem but it's sometimes a pain in the a*** when you switch a lot from dirt rally/drifting to open wheel racing in few hours)

      @@RingoYote- No!!! Dood, you are so WRONG!
      The TS-PC, TS-XW, T500, T300 & TX are NOT Gear Driven, they are in-fact Belt Driven Wheel Systems; the reviewer even says it... IN this video.
      I mean, even the cheaper versions of the Thrustmaster FFB wheels, The T150 & TMX, use belts; however, they're a hybrid system and are also partially geared.

    yep i own a t500 rs for a couple of years now,started with it on ps4 and switched to pc only 2.5 years ago and i feel the force feedback is a bit of funky in some games,mostly in console port games like forza horizon 3 and 4,the motorsport 7 is fine. my solution for the weird ffb is to update the firmware everytime i use the wheel and plugging it in before i start up my pc,then it works fine but honoustly i don't think i would pick another thrustmaster wheel pakkage in the future,for me they are fine for console racing but now as a pc gamer at 144 hz i would look into fanatec clubsport,maybe more expensive but well worth it after playing and experimenting with trustmaster,i feel it's a good build product but if it comes to growing in racing i feel like trustmaster is limited to the simcade racing,once you go more sim orientated it starts to show it's flaws like the pedal set and ffb,center slack.my affortable dream setup would be full fanatec clubsport on a simlabs extrution rig,rock solid quality at a resonable price,still a somewhat expensive setup compared to my current wheelstand pro/t500/th8a setup but well worth the upgrade,in my logic it will feel 2 steps up at least in racing experience, i could be wrong but thats my analisis of the whole thrustmaster product.

      Got a friend that completely lost his FFB on a CSW 2.5 after less than a year of use... RMA, replacment of the wheel. I gave my cheap T500RS a hard life for more than 4.5years with no issues at all, one example isn't enough to make it a rule. So it won't help you if I say that none of my friend that had a TM wheel ever had any issues, although it is true, you could have different experience than I had.

  • @SteinarPladsen
    @SteinarPladsen 5 лет назад +1

    Great William. I totally agree in all matters here, you are spot on. As a longtime Thrustmaster fan ('95), I can see TM does not do the smart moves, but rather becomes the new Logitech. They are not connected to what is happening in the market. PS: I still using my T500, as still going on after so many years! Yes, I also have the TS-PC Racer.... Keep on your great work :-)

    I bought my TS-PC nearly two years ago new for £391 RRP is £499 in the UK. A CSL Elite delivered was £520 at the time and had i not found the deal on the TS-PC I had no intention of buying it for it's full RRP. Why would you pay nearly the same for plastic when you can have a better product with aluminium components for only very slightly more.
    It did die about 14 months in and I was mid race. Got onto Thrustmaster customer support. They RMA'd the a week before Christmas, oh my days. Got it back on the 27th still dead. Turns out the "turbo" power supply had gone Norwegian blue. Two days later I receive a new power supply. I think the premium you pay for a Thrustmaster product relates to the level of customer care you receive when your novelty power supply breaks.

  • @Scrench1
    @Scrench1 4 года назад

    Actually it's worse that that. In your roundup of wheels you placed the Fanatec CSL Elite in the Consumer category with the Thrustmaster T300, but placed the Thrustmaster TSPC in the next higher category, with the Enthusiast wheels. That implies that the TSPC is better, but your seem to like the CSLE better for it's smoothness. I'm about to buy one of these packages, but your comments have me confused now. The FFB on my Fanatec CSR wheel has died and it feels pretty notchy, although the pedals are fine. So I've been racing in AMS 1 & 2 and placing in the tip 30 in Time Trials, but I want to do better. I also love the F1 series. Which of these wheels is better for what I want to do? If you could only pick one, which would it be? Thank You!

      Just click by yourself on Amazon, in France e.g. the 488 Challenge is sold 515€ and the Formula version 418€... Recommended retail prices are jokes. Not saying the choice is that clear, if you enter the Sim Market for the first time, sure alternatives are really competitive... If you already had TM wheel...it is still a decent upgrade. And I haven't gone Fanatec route for that reason. Now saying you get an OSW 20N for 900€... you have to add how much to get a rim, buttons, pedals your final bill is closer to 1500€ at best... There is no super clear call imo... Like those saying TM is not reliable, every user experience is different. 4.5 years of T500RS no issues, sold to a guy that never complained about it, bought TS-PC when it launched, no issue whatsoever and I kept the pedals that I used for almost 7 years... Everyone has heard of reliability issues for all manufacturers...

      Where a person lives can really sway their purchase. When my G27 finally died on me, I ended up buying a TS-PC from Amazon for $547 CAD, all shipping and taxes included. A ClubSport v2.5 and McLaren rim (to go with a more modestly priced rim) would have ended up running me $1,190 CAD, with all shipping and taxes included. The Fanatec wheel would be better, but not enough for me to justify the difference in cost.
