i like that u review everything fairly and don't show a snobbery or elitism towards cheaper , lower end units- u make every level of sim racer feel valued , invested and worthy in their purchase.
Exactly! Sim racing wouldn’t even exist as it does without entry level gear. That’s what I like about the sim community from what I have seen. People get excited for you when you get your first g29 or T150.

Aftrer approx 2 years I have now some creaking sounds in the motor ahah6 FFB is not disturbed but the little sound makes me crazy so yet headset is mandatory !

Great review. I've had my TS-PC racer for about a year and a half now and I love it and it's holding up very well and in my book has been a solid investment. While I own the 599xxx rim, I wish they would give us the option to purchase this new 488 rim separately. Oh and RaceRoom is a very solid sim and has some of the best sounds and FFB of any sim.

I love you take apart these wheels! It satisfies my curiosity. Maybe it's the tech geek in me. Everything inside this wheel is literally double the size including the belt and motor of the T300 and it's also double the price.

Sorry guys, I meant to edit that out. Once I had it open, I realised there really isn't much to see in there. Just a toroidal coil and a small circuit board. Plenty of that on the net already I think.

Great review! What about the ffb settings inside the Thrustmaster control panel? Did you set the general force to 100%?
If you had to pick between this and fanatec csl wheel base what would you choose Barry?

im looking to upgrade from my Tx & T3pa pros, was looking to get the Fanatec CS v2.5 and the V3 pedals (with brake kit) (rather not get custom like HV or pt2) i mainly drift on AC etc for practice my IRL stuff & also casual race / Love rally & also love chilling on games like FH4 with mates & have "driving nights". i have a great cockpit the K2 & monitor setup the samsung super ultrawide but i feel the Thrustmaster gear itself is lacking, think is more a high end toy than a Piece of rim racing tools. do you think it would be good upgrade to make? coming from TM stuff & for more realism especially as a tool for drifting,
i know its 2 years later but now in 2021 the Logitech is the new high end toy for people that want to start in sim racing, thrusmaster is the mid range , and fanatec and other DD wheels are the high end and im not basing my choices on price but in build quality , motor power , stability, and upgradability .

Do you plan on making a video on tactile immersion? Im talking about bass shakers separate to the buttkicker range so sub 150$ using simvibe. Would be very interested on your opinion on how to mount such on an aluminum rig.

You Shaun Cole( SimPit) and Will Marsh (SimRacingPaddock) have to get together sometime and do some reviews.... it would be awesome for the sim community....I agree with a earlier comment, how about a run down or a starters guide to building a PC for Sim Racing... Im relatively new to Sim Racing and am about to upgrade to a OSW, decent pedals and shifter but have found im also going to have to upgrade my PC as well, and being a person thats come from using consoles and not much of a computer person I have to say it can be quite daunting and intimidating trying to find or build something that will meet what im looking for...Keep up the Great work though always look forward to watching your new videos

Barry you are the man! Love your reviews, they really are the best. I was hoping you might givee some advice, I bought a used Thrustmaster TSPC Racer a couple months ago and it suddenly stopped working. I feel like I've exhausted any program/software issues, was hoping you might suggest some hardware stuff to look into. E.g. power supply and wheel base problems to look for or test. I dont necessarily need much detail, I'm good at repairs, just hoping you could give me a couple suggestions on what to look for or test. I've opened the wheel base and nothing seems off or burnt. Thanks for your help Barry you're the best!
Hi iv had this base for about a year and the force feedback has stopped working all the buttons,axis work in the control panel but no effects..The cooling fan is also running no stop even if my pc is shut down. Any idea what's gone wrong? love your channel .

One bit at a time - that DIN connector is a serial port.

When they say 400 watt peak power does that mean 400 watts from your psu that it will use?

I’m looking to upgrade once my g920 goes, which hopefully isn’t for a long time. Barry do you see advantages of a true belt driven only system opposed to a hybrid system? I’m unsure which to get, of course if I have the money I’d go for a direct drive wheel. I just want an opinion on the best of the best force feedback wheel as my rig may not support direct drive wheels (next level racing f-gt lite)
What's the best full package (wheel, base, pedals) I can get for under $400? I was going to get the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT but have read a lot of negative feedback regarding it having various parts failing in less than a year.
i have the TS-PC racer with a open bottom formula rim that they give you with it. do you reckon its possible to take the part the wheel connects to on the driving shaft of the wheelbase off and flip it upside down and put it back on. so i could put my wheel upside down back on the rig and have it register as normal? i want to do this so i can have an open top wheel for GT3 cars somtimes and put it back to normal for open bottom like F1 cars.
I have one and I’m very happy with it, would have loved it a little bit smaller though✨
Smaller? What the wheel diameter? You could use a smaller wheel no probs, the leather one is nice at 28cms.

Barry - imo RaceRoom has the best FFB and audio immersion of all the current sims (although terrible UI for knowing what content you've purchased), hope you enjoy it more and more. Thanks for the great Wheel review!

Impressive Motor size plus I like the larger Shaft size on the transfer pully between the Motor and the main shaft, Plus I se this model has an actual Belt adjustment bolt for tension rather then just pulling up on motor like the t300. I think the Motor Has an internal cooling fan also

I think you know this but this wheel doesnt work for the PS4 if you want to use it on it ;)........Both wheels are very good but it depends what you like more, Thrustmaster or Fanatec.........Dont take my advice too seriously cause i have only a Logitech G29 and i ve never tested this 2 wheels.

Barry, i bought the ts-xw servo base, but it's from the UK. I need to use it here, stateside. Do i need a step-up/step-down converter? Or can i simply change out the power supply?

I'm sorry to see so much plastic in a 600 $ base, I think the same of the CSL Elite, is it possible that the most "economic" wheel I can buy with the master shaft in metal is the Fanatec Club Sport? For now I tried the G27 and the T300 and they both seem to break when drifting, they feel economic but they aren't when you buy them.
there is a rubber dampening suspension system.
By suspending the fan in the rubber it dampens and removes harmonics.
Still wondering if this is worth it I don’t mind paying more for fanatec but I’d have to fly to Australia to buy it or find a way to get it to New Zealand since they don’t ship here

Great review as always. Great to see the internals of the base. I am curious what you think about the "quick release" design as far as security and durability.
Never heard about problems with thruatmaster system. Yes fanatec is faster but also pricier
Not sure if "quick release" applies to Thrustmasters wheel to wheelbase connection system. But, if the screw is cinched down properly, I don't think you will ever have a problem with the connection loosening.

So, should I upgrade my T300rs to this? I like the thrustmaster ecosystem (I have 4 different wheels lol), so I don't wanna shift to Fanatec, and DD is too expensive for me.
Would you think it's worth upgrading? My main reason would be the cooling, in ILMS and IMSA races in Iracing the T300 gets fade near the end of those races.
I've no fading problems, but question remains: is it a worth upgrade from a T300?

Just bought one of these to replace my t500rs! My wheel still works perfectly fine had it for almost 10 years, love the reliability of my t500rs hoping this will last just as long.

No, but I would contact Thrustmaster customer support to see whether they will sell the wheel by itself. I know they have done that with other products in their lineup in the past. Who knows, maybe you will get lucky.
Have my TS_PC for one year now and power supply looks died, no power (lights) and not recognized by PC. I want to measure if there is current on the base connector but I don't know which of the 4 pins I need to measure. can you help me out?

what is your advice concerning the Thrustmaster TRS-500 , fanatec csl elite and this Thrustmaster TS-PC wheelbase? Is there a big difference in quality, FFB and driving experience? which wheelbase would you advice. I already have the TRS-500 more then 8 years.

How much torque does it have?
Any tips on maintenance? I bought this wheel used on ebay, have been playing for several hundreds of hours. Lately some minor creaking noises and little hard bumps have started to appear in some sims. It feels like some rubber or plastic element is a bit loose at that moment. But not the whole time.
