I just bought the STL files from Peter A, the models looks great in Cura. Just an FYI if you are going to print your own parts, they are all around 7 hour prints. For my set up I will print the base, F1 wheel, and standard wheel. Looking at about 30 hours of printing. If you buy them pre-printed from Karpal Sim, I want people to understand the cost. Awesome work, can’t wait to get these up and running!!!!
Barry's review of these very ingenious quick releases for the TM based convinced me that I wanted them. So I went to Peter's ebay page for these items. Not surprised, his current stock at the time was pretty light. So I contacted Peter via email. Through that, I got on a email list for his next run. Long story short, I got a base adapter and two for my TM wheels (599 evo with a Momo Mod 31 custom drilled by Ricmotech / TSPC open wheel) Installation (including custom fitment) was easy. Basically followed both Barry's and Peter's videos. Only issue I encountered was the length of the M4 bolts which connect the Wheel QR Adapter was a bit short. This was due to my custom drilled Momo Mod 31 wheel which I think is a couple mm's thicker than the stock 599 evo TM wheel. I measured them as about 45 mm. Got 50 mm length bolts and it now solidly assembled. Tested all the buttons and paddles and everything works! Removal and re-installation with the new QR is great! This is my favorite mod for my TM equipment! Thank you Peter for making these and Barry for reviewing them!
I use a PC case thumb screw to tighten the collar lock on wheel base,, it gives a better grip to hand tighten my wheels on... Not once has a rim loosened ;;; had TS-PC since pre order,, love it,, casual league every Sunday I recon the collar would split in time,,,,, wondered if anyone had that issue 🤔 Great videos 👁👁

I use PLA to make 3d printed QR1 for my CSL DD 8nm. Lots of infill, lots of walls, low resolution and a good filament, and you're set! I use the SRM mini emulator and a 350mm wheel, and added my own 8mm bearings and 3x pen springs. Not bad for a free QR
Yes it does, but tbh I'm not very gentle with my wheels and have been using this qr for over 6mths without any damage to the plug. And even if it gets damaged it's super simple to replace it for
Screws should always be threaded in carefully counter clockwise until you feel that it seats in the old threads so you dont carve new threads in the plastic. This teqnice should also be used on metal to increse its lifespan.
i personally use a cnc machines adapter made by Ripp. along with a VMS Racing quick release, (identical to slim NRG QR), iv had zero issues, on the side of 3dprinted parts, iv been through 2 adapters now, by 2 different sellers, use metal no 3d printed stuff to hold your wheels

I tried this mod and had to remove it! the mod itself is very well done, the problem is the chinesium quick release that is sold separately that has some really poor tolerances! this translates into a lot of play in the quick release system itself making it completely impossible to use for me, cuz every time the force feedback snaps to the other side the quick release system jumps the gap and makes a clicking sound that makes it impossible for me to use it! buying this mod, u must take into consideration buying like 4 quick release from 2 different manufacturers or something like that

Not sure if yours did come or not with it but I was watching Peter's videos about the perfect fit and includes two 3d pieces than you can insert to fix the wiggle but if you do not want the piece and still have it I dont mind buying. You are portuguese too?

if you change wheel every two weeks and the average time of using the wheel is about 6 hours every weekend by simply keeping the thrustmaster OEM QR over a year and a half you gonna have spend the same time as you gonna spend just replacing the QR "there there"
Are the 4 screws around the + prone to coming loose? My T500 is on life support now. Whenever the wheel was loose, those 4 screws have to be tightened down HARD. My v1 model has the short screws. I’m hoping to get a T-GT2 in a month or so. It depends on how my GiveSendGo fundraiser goes.
Hey Barry what do you prefer out of these two rigs the fanatec dd1 with the v2 Formula rim, podium shifters with v3 pedals or the simucube 2 pro with heusinkveld sprints and the ascher f-28 Wheel. Both will be mounted on the gt1 rig but the simucube will be mounted on a deck using a bracket whereas the dd1 will use the Simlab podium brackets? I’m personally leaning to the simucube as all the parts on that side are so high in quality relative to the fanatec, but I would like to know your view. And be sure to put down any suggestions. i have my screw hanging out and just yank on it to tighten it up and it stays tight for many hours, i check before each day i play. the reason why this quick release wont work is when you change rims up need to unplug the base usb to reset it, to recognise the new rim properly, especially if there is a differing number of buttons. you'll have to look at which buttons are which numbers. the base needs a reset button on it
ouch that hurt at 15:12 ..... sais in thrustmaster manual only tightened that screw until it gets firm, it should never ever go all the way in otherwise you may crack the collar part of the wheel (Rim) with the threads, of it will just completly dig in and destroy the treads,
Hi Barry, great review as always. I wonder if you would be willing to measure the distance between the front of the wheelbase and the top of the plate of the open wheel rim. I know you said it didn't feel like it added much length, but I'm trying to get a more precise idea of how it would effect my setup.
I don't have open wheel, but P310 (which seems to have the same dimensions) has exactly 111mm from the flat side of wheel base (ie the one around tm 'screw on' mounting cover) to the front of wheel metal plate, hope that helps :)
Because literally no-one is mentioning it anywhere the guy charges £10 GBP per STL file with a minimum of 3 of the 4 files required so it's only £3 less than buying a pre printed kit to get the files plus you need to buy the quick release aswell

Hello, I bought a brand new TX leather edition wheel and there is a serious problem with it. I play with three-four fingers(with one hand, no full grip) and regardless of the setting, from the recommended to almost maximum, the FFB is either absent or very faintly felt. When I tested the "forces" from the control panel, there are no vibrations, only the steering wheel turns with some of them. The store refused me a replacement, they sent it to a service center. The base does not overheating at all. What do you think the problem might be? Thanks!
Barry I need help I have the thrustmaster ferrari f1 1000 wheel I open the wheel to expose the spider to heat the bolts to remove them nothing worked the bolts will not move can you buy the spider..

Guys I have a problem with my TM T3PA pro pedal set. When I first calibrate them they seem OK, but after 5-10 minutes in game they lose the brake biting point to an extend that no matter how hard I press the brake it only registers %20 of brake. I'm about to lose my sanity! Please help...

Is the QR as tight as the OEM connection when the wheel is on? And how much extra steering column length does the QR add? More length equals more flex, yes?
Don’t forget to remind yourself to turn the power to the wheel base OFF before you change rims,,, TS-PC might only be £500 but it’ll still twat your wrists hard enough 🥴
JOE nice one,, 👍 I just never change a wheel without powering off,, I’ve belted my head plugging in usb 🙄 I also noticed occasionally that the steering lock went from my preferred 410 back up to max,,, Actually;;;; I’m probably a pain in the neck on race nites 🤪🤓 especially in VR👁👁 Drive polite
That's my secret sauce ;) but seriously it's a LOT of testing and tweaking the dimensions of the adapter, also there's still a need to do some manual fitting but it's super easy and in worst case requires using a bit of duct tape (details in video linked in the description)

Barry, Sorry but this part is not very strong. The flex is probably also the adapter on the thrustmaster and its not full hard plastic. It will just break during races and flex will get worse.

It leaves the plug on the back of the wheel exposed, so you got to be sure not to damage it when it's lying around.

How does he stop the ebay quick release from being such a lose fit? Mine has a lot of play and makes a lot when in use.
That's my secret sauce ;) but seriously it's a LOT of testing and tweaking the dimensions of the adapter, also there's still a need to do some manual fitting but it's super easy and in worst case requires using a bit of duct tape (details in video linked in the description)

Barry, Sorry but this part is not very strong. The flex is probably also the adapter on the thrustmaster and its not full hard plastic. It will just break during races and flex will get worse.
