@@bobbychilds3080 yup, I made a video about, check it out, basically the base ring of the qr should be around 25mm thickness, 95mm in outer diameter and it comes wit 6 silver screws, I saw a hieny one that's with 12 black ones but never had one of these and they seem to be a bit smaller

I am using this QR system for 3 years now, and what can I say, it's the best purchase for my rig i've done so far. It's working without a single problem and the the practical benefit is priceless. I can change the steering wheel from WTCR to GT3 between to races just sitting in my rig, and switch to DTM steering wheel minutes later. That's so awesome. I have a wide range of wheels for my T300 base (13 in the moment), some are modified Thrustmaster wheels, some are completly build by myself, and all of them are equipped with a QR from Peter. Everything is printed in top quality, so even my 2kg and 40cm wide Nascar steering wheel makes no problems. Thanks again Peter for this awesome mod!

@@bs_shifty_4207 Yes, thats correct. The "base-side" part, the "wheel-side" part and the slim quick release inbetween. For every additional steering wheel you like to attach you just need one more slim QR and one more "wheel-side" part.
@@luuk017 The SlimQR has two parts, the "wheel-side" and the "base-side". The base-side part is allways attached to the wheel base and stays there. If you like to use a second steering wheel, you have to buy a second SlimQR and mount the wheel-side part to the second steering wheel.

First of all major kudos to you "Sir Peter", for devising and fabricating these parts. There obviously seems to be demand for it in the community and it is great to see you supporting that. But let me ask the community this: How often do you guys actually change out your wheel? I personally have three different wheels. One for Rallying, one for Touring Cars and GTs and one for Formula racing. And I find myself switching between these forms of Motorsport on a bi-weekly of maybe monthly basis. So that amounts to roughly 20 swaps between wheels a year. Not really all that often. Again, it is great that this mod exists, but it fixes a non-issue for me personally. Enjoy your Sim Racing! 😀
This is an AWESOME system. I have it on four wheels, including my F1 wheel. So easy to swap wheels and way better than that nasty screw and twist plastic ring TM decided was a good idea 🤷🏻♂️

Works perfect. I bought the stl last month and use it with open wheel, sparco rally and sparco gt. And the wall supports. This is the Best quickrelease for thrustmaster and its not dificult to mount. Maybe some expensive if you have a lot of wheel and you want to put in the wall because you need to buy a clouple of slim quickrelease. It will be interesting if you relelease a adaptor for the New "Ferrari 488 GT3" when thrustmaster release it the next month.
I switched to sc 2 pro and not using the tm, not sure I'll be buying the 488, but maybe, especially if my new project to get the sf1000 and others work via usb proves to be successful :)

You cannot understand how long I was waiting for such a quick release system! Reaching you soon on eBay for all the parts I need. I am sure the only TM wheel where this mod does not work is the Ferrari F1, but maybe you would be interested in investigate on that...

if you change wheel every two weeks and the average time of using the wheel is about 6 hours every weekend by simply keeping the thrustmaster OEM QR over a year and a half you gonna have spend the same time as you gonna spend just replacing the QR "there there"
Hi Peter, Does the weight of the adapter affect the ffb? It looks heavy and as far as I know, lighter wheels are better in simracing Anyway it works definitely better than Thrustmaster QR
I tried this mod and had to remove it! the mod itself is very well done, the problem is the chinesium quick release that is sold separately that has some really poor tolerances! this translates into a lot of play in the quick release system itself making it completely impossible to use for me, cuz every time the force feedback snaps to the other side the quick release system jumps the gap and makes a clicking sound that makes it impossible for me to use it! buying this mod, u must take into consideration buying like 4 quick release from 2 different manufacturers or something like that
Is this comtatble with other quick reales you can find online What i mean by that is if it would be posible to change the quick reales to another quick reales system
it works only with the slim quick release, the tolerances are pretty tight so nothing else will work, but tbh after you get the fit right it's great, I'm using mine for almost 2yrs now and no issues at all
Today I got 2 of the metal mechanism from china. There are some plastics inside for the horn in the original car that isn't needed for the sims qr. doyou remember hor replace them??? Hi Peter, those screws at 19:30 goes all the way through the plastic part and into the wheel adapter first metal plate? I bought the adapter (2 parts, the adapter for the base and for the TS PC wheel) and I'm unable to get those screws firm enough to get the wheel fixed to the adapter. I use the TS-PC, (preferred the F488 Challenge Edition rim and more subtle finish) I too do not enjoy "that screw" I decided to use the Quick Change Ring from ChrisH Designs (as I don't really change my wheel, just wanted it secure without "that screw" it works perfectly, and can be (appreciate the irony) "permanently installed" with a screw! This fits flush with the outside diameter of the Quick Change Ring (you don't have to fix it but it moves around and can be distracting if left lose) In short it allows you to properly tighten the collar, which makes the Thrustmaster "quick release" system function as was originally intended. Cost? £12 + P&P
The part of the mod that has the three tall lugs on it, that sits inside the wheel does not fit my T300 RS GT I have to modify the centre bore size to make it fit.
Hi I got a question for you. I bought the quick release for the t300. But I recently upgraded to the tgt 2. Can I use the adapter on the tgt 2. I try to attach it to the back of the wheel but the hub part won't go in all the way. It's the part with the 3 legs. Thanks in advance

Is it possible to use a wall mount with the mod? I have 5 different wheels and want to buy the mod for all of these but it would be uncomfortable for me if I couldn't mount it anymore.

@@petermakesthings7342 I think many of us have two or more wheels for their TM base, 8 in my case. By now i have them mounted to my room wall with a simple hook and a small hole in the TM adapter. But this is no longer possible with your QR adapter. Guess others would also like to have a solution to store their wheels somehow and not let them laying arround on the floor.

@Peter Makes Things Are you still making these buddy? once I get to the route of my calibration issue I will buy some for sure (the TX wheel base doesn't sit straight after a calibration start up, only out by millimetres but its annoying)
they are available on www.kapral.store now, I'm not making them myself anymore, as for calibration this is quite common, there's definitely a guide somewhere on how to reset it (sorry can't remember where I saw it, you'll just have to do a bit of research)

Wheel-base adaptor is the same size and shape as in original TM wheels so I can't see any reasons why it wouldn't be compatible, the thing is I only own TS-XW (same as TS-PC)

I have the ricmotech adapter and a 350mm wheel I use for drifting. Will this work with that adapter as well as the open wheel and Alcantara ferrari wheel or will I need a couple different ones?
I'm afraid the ricmotech adapter will not work with this, my mod replaces the original thrustmaster threaded mount, so you would need to remove the adapter you have for your 350 wheel and use the 'custom adapter' I made instead

For whatever reason after using the wheel for few minutes, the steering wheel starts to wiggle and the quick release system start to get loose, does this mod or anything else can solve this problem except glue? That's my main downside about the the thrustmaster t300rs gt wheel combo. Or I can just glue or use thread locker to lock the hub to the wheel and use the True quick release instead.
that's definitely not a standard behaviour of TM wheel, are you sure you have the locking screws tight (the one you screw into the threaded ring)? otherwise you might want to try recalibrating the wheel (check TM support). This mod still utilises the thrustmaster 'semi-quick' release, but you just put it on once and afterwards replace the wheels with just the ring qr, the issue you're having seems to be something with the hardware so probably worth sorting it before looking into getting the mod
Peter Makes Things The wheel is moving foward and backwards at the left and right side of the wheel, and when I check the original quick release, it’s not screwed in tight, and I swear It was sooooo tight around 20 minutes or longer ago. And ya I lost the screws so I use the other one, but either way before when I do have the screws, it’s still having the same problem. Also mine is a t300rs gt wheel.
@@szealexandersze yeah that's the problem with TM system, it doesn't work very well over time, that's why I made this mod cause it was extremely annoying. Clearly your replacement screw is getting loose, maybe the diameter is not correct or smt. I would suggest taking a small drill and making a hole in the wheel threaded mount, then screw in the bolt all the way down, maybe will be enough not to get it loose again - and just to be clear, I never had such issues and never tried this approach so am not responsible if you damage your wheel :) but tbh can't think of any other way to make it stay in place. Also try google, I'm sure you're not the only one having such problems with TM wheel

@@barmin7406 there's 4 separate models: base adapter -> used to replace the threaded mount on the thrustmaster wheelbase side, TM adapter -> used for majority of Thrustmaster add-on wheels and enables you to connect it via quick release to the base, F1 adapter -> only compatible with TM Ferrari F1 wheel, Custom -> used for non-Thrustmaster wheels to connect them to the TM base via quick release

It seems not to be compatible with TM F1 add-on, but I was planning on getting one anyway so will update the description when the mod is available.

I tried this mod and had to remove it! the mod itself is very well done, the problem is the chinesium quick release that is sold separately that has some really poor tolerances! this translates into a lot of play in the quick release system itself making it completely impossible to use for me, cuz every time the force feedback snaps to the other side the quick release system jumps the gap and makes a clicking sound that makes it impossible for me to use it! buying this mod, u must take into consideration buying like 4 quick release from 2 different manufacturers or something like that

it works only with the slim quick release, the tolerances are pretty tight so nothing else will work, but tbh after you get the fit right it's great, I'm using mine for almost 2yrs now and no issues at all

Today I got 2 of the metal mechanism from china. There are some plastics inside for the horn in the original car that isn't needed for the sims qr. doyou remember hor replace them???

Yes you would need to buy a whole slim quick connect kit for every wheel as well as a 3d printed adapter for each

Hi Peter, those screws at 19:30 goes all the way through the plastic part and into the wheel adapter first metal plate? I bought the adapter (2 parts, the adapter for the base and for the TS PC wheel) and I'm unable to get those screws firm enough to get the wheel fixed to the adapter. I use the TS-PC, (preferred the F488 Challenge Edition rim and more subtle finish) I too do not enjoy "that screw" I decided to use the Quick Change Ring from ChrisH Designs (as I don't really change my wheel, just wanted it secure without "that screw" it works perfectly, and can be (appreciate the irony) "permanently installed" with a screw! This fits flush with the outside diameter of the Quick Change Ring (you don't have to fix it but it moves around and can be distracting if left lose) In short it allows you to properly tighten the collar, which makes the Thrustmaster "quick release" system function as was originally intended. Cost? £12 + P&P
Yes I'm very well familiarised with the mod Chris made, this is a completely different concept though
The part of the mod that has the three tall lugs on it, that sits inside the wheel does not fit my T300 RS GT

Hi I got a question for you. I bought the quick release for the t300. But I recently upgraded to the tgt 2. Can I use the adapter on the tgt 2. I try to attach it to the back of the wheel but the hub part won't go in all the way. It's the part with the 3 legs. Thanks in advance

unfortunately you have to desolder it yourself, check out the review by sim racing garage, Barry did it for open wheel, it's very quick and simple

Hi if you only have one steering wheel you need for you (1x BASE for Thrustmaster "TRUE" Quick Release + 1x TM Adapter for Thrustmaster "TRUE" Quick Release + 1x SLIM Quick Release) if you have several steering wheels you will need ( 1x BASE for Thrustmaster "TRUE" Quick Release + 2x Adapter for Thrustmaster + 2x SLIM Quick Release).
PS: the P310 and the R383 sim have the same steering wheel bass.

One thing. With your wheel adapters, all addon wheels have the PS2 connector unsecured on the outside, wich makes it easy to damage. Is it possible for you to create a wall mount for your adapters, to have a solution to store all my wheels? That would be great. Thanks!
you mean like with the QR outer ring as for base mount? It can be done but wouldn't a simple cover be better?
@@petermakesthings7342 I think many of us have two or more wheels for their TM base, 8 in my case. By now i have them mounted to my room wall with a simple hook and a small hole in the TM adapter. But this is no longer possible with your QR adapter. Guess others would also like to have a solution to store their wheels somehow and not let them laying arround on the floor.

yup, need a base adapter + tm adapter, plus another tm or f1 adapter for any other TM wheels you have (or custom adapter for non-tm wheels)

(the TX wheel base doesn't sit straight after a calibration start up, only out by millimetres but its annoying)
they are available on www.kapral.store now, I'm not making them myself anymore, as for calibration this is quite common, there's definitely a guide somewhere on how to reset it (sorry can't remember where I saw it, you'll just have to do a bit of research)

Wheel-base adaptor is the same size and shape as in original TM wheels so I can't see any reasons why it wouldn't be compatible, the thing is I only own TS-XW (same as TS-PC)

I have the ricmotech adapter and a 350mm wheel I use for drifting. Will this work with that adapter as well as the open wheel and Alcantara ferrari wheel or will I need a couple different ones?
I'm afraid the ricmotech adapter will not work with this, my mod replaces the original thrustmaster threaded mount, so you would need to remove the adapter you have for your 350 wheel and use the 'custom adapter' I made instead

For whatever reason after using the wheel for few minutes, the steering wheel starts to wiggle and the quick release system start to get loose, does this mod or anything else can solve this problem except glue? That's my main downside about the the thrustmaster t300rs gt wheel combo. Or I can just glue or use thread locker to lock the hub to the wheel and use the True quick release instead.
that's definitely not a standard behaviour of TM wheel, are you sure you have the locking screws tight (the one you screw into the threaded ring)? otherwise you might want to try recalibrating the wheel (check TM support). This mod still utilises the thrustmaster 'semi-quick' release, but you just put it on once and afterwards replace the wheels with just the ring qr, the issue you're having seems to be something with the hardware so probably worth sorting it before looking into getting the mod
Peter Makes Things The wheel is moving foward and backwards at the left and right side of the wheel, and when I check the original quick release, it’s not screwed in tight, and I swear It was sooooo tight around 20 minutes or longer ago. And ya I lost the screws so I use the other one, but either way before when I do have the screws, it’s still having the same problem. Also mine is a t300rs gt wheel.
@@szealexandersze yeah that's the problem with TM system, it doesn't work very well over time, that's why I made this mod cause it was extremely annoying. Clearly your replacement screw is getting loose, maybe the diameter is not correct or smt. I would suggest taking a small drill and making a hole in the wheel threaded mount, then screw in the bolt all the way down, maybe will be enough not to get it loose again - and just to be clear, I never had such issues and never tried this approach so am not responsible if you damage your wheel :) but tbh can't think of any other way to make it stay in place. Also try google, I'm sure you're not the only one having such problems with TM wheel

@@barmin7406 there's 4 separate models: base adapter -> used to replace the threaded mount on the thrustmaster wheelbase side, TM adapter -> used for majority of Thrustmaster add-on wheels and enables you to connect it via quick release to the base, F1 adapter -> only compatible with TM Ferrari F1 wheel, Custom -> used for non-Thrustmaster wheels to connect them to the TM base via quick release
