thank you its so hard to find anything for simracing thats not over 500 or made by fanatec
Tell me about it 😅
i mean you could get the g923 for 300 dollars and add a 80 dollar mod and there you go
This is the link for the g923 mod it is really great for f1 sim racing - ruclips.net/video/qf54Nf8RIWs/видео.html
Honestly the Logitech wheels are rubbish
@@izumadodoesstuffinc.6917 I love my g920, going strong well over a year now!
I know this stuff isn't exactly dirt cheap to produce, but my "insane price gouging to take advantage of a diehard fan-base" senses are tingling when it comes to racing sim gear. I can almost guarantee they have a massive profit margin on every single product.
I agree. However you have to remember that producing just one wheel with all factories set up might be like 10$. There have been put in a loooot of money for rnd in order to make the wheels and tech that goes into wheels and pedals. So while one wheelbase might cost them 10$ now, it have might cost them millions to get there, and as a consumer, you have to pay for that. Also it will take some time for them selling their new product before they are even, so products will never sell good enough to break even and others will bring in 1000x what was spend on the total production and research of it.
So yeah it might be overpriced looking at what one wheel will cost to produce after it’s been in production for 6 years, but there were also years before they started selling them where they only made a loss on the product
@@AcD420 I agree. I think the only wheel that cost a decent chunk of money to make was the SF1000, as it is made with real carbon fiber and has a lot of electronic features within it. Other than that, it probably does cost $10-20 to make any T series wheel.
just wait until china chimes in and sell practically identical wheels at 30% the price
Yeah I'm sure it's anywhere from 150 to 300%
@@devotedtospeed with 30% of the quality too
This NEEDS more views. The production quality is amazing!
Glad you think so Arbi :)
Thrustmasters isn't tho
@@madsscheelbech3920 Wow thanks.
@@RRSmurf no problem buddy
the video is good, but the products are mostly crap. The master has lost contact so to say
T300RS GT is the best value by far, especially if you can find with a discount. I bought mine new for 330 bucks
Fantastic video mare, thanks a lot, this really simplified my purchase process, cheers!
after owning a t500rs for over 5 years now, i have to say it's a great mid-tier wheel if you can find one second hand and most certainly worth taking a look at. crisp FFB and 900 degree rotation, coupled with a decent set of pedal that can be inverted to a hanging GT-style setup. you can also find a 70mm adapter to mount any aftermarket sport steering wheel to the t500 base, losing al the buttons tho but having a 300mm wheel instead of the tiny stock wheel has made it feel a lot more realistic imho.
my wheel and pedals are mounted to a selfmade metal cockpit that i cobbled together with a 100 dollar trip to the local hardware store, and using an old car seat i got for free at the local dump. i've also put small caster wheel under the entire cockpit so i can wheel it out of the way whenever i use my computer for other games than racing.
That’s the type of video I needed!Thank you very much!
i just got the G920 with shifter and a separate e brake from amazon, all for 345, legit saved over 500 dollars, honestly really the only thing i can say about the thrustmaster "equal" is that its belt driven, which ive never used but is probably a hell of a lot quieter then the clunking of these gears, tho i do enjoy the way this wheel feels regardless
Great video. Way better than some other ones I've seen
When he said the T-GT wheel was expensive, probably just price inflation on an old product and not worth it I died inside. It’s the best wheel Thrustmaster sell at the time and it’s amazing but when unnoticed.
great video. i have the t150rs. its great for what i need it to do. im only a casual fan of sim racing so its there for when i feel like it, but it doesnt take up much room, and its cheap.
Amazing vid thanks a lot for the info. In terms of pedals and wheel bases what do you think goes best for an F1 based setup?
I've been using the tx xw with the sparco wheel for a while now and love it. it's no direct drive wheel but it blows anything gear driven completely out of the water.
Its better in some places than a DD wheel. For instance it actually feels more like areal car. The DD wheels feel like nice ice skates on a new ice ring.
thanks this video really helped keep it up!
thank you so much i will address this list very soon! This is very helpful.
I have the TMX force feedback, and I recommend it as a starting wheel, I really wouldn’t go cheaper, but this is a decent setup. The pedals are very lacking though, if you get the pro, they will enjoy it much more. But I do believe there is better options because every upgrade I would get for the wheel is expensive, 150 dollar pedals if i want them metal and a clutch, 100-150 for a H shifter, and idk what I could use for an ebrake
The pedals on it are okay but still reaaallly crappy, they get absolutely zero grip on anything, it forced me to hard mount them to a crappy cheap stand I got, probably going to get a cockpit soon though,
I've owned two Thrustmaster tx Wich delivered good force feedback and good racing experience... While they lasted. Unfortunately both bases died after les than 500h of non intensive use. After being frustrated for the poor reliability decided to buy a Logitech g923, and it worked fine and prove to be much more reliable and durable, but it's force feedback was a big step down compared with the Thrustmaster tx. Finally decided to get a fanatec csl dd and I'm really impressed with it's ffb and general quality. A much better experience and in my opinion it's totally worth the price tag.
dude awesome video i wasn’t even tryna buy one i have the 458spider but great info
Quite recent publishied video.
I don't know when new thrustmaster came out, but there is T248 now with magnetic pedals. On the other hand, T300 supposed to be better wheel has generic pedals like the T150 pro.
Also dutiful to remind that hub, handbrake/shifter and led display holder are not compatible with wheels below T300. As a matter of fact hub is required to use both handbrake/shifter and regular shifter on compatible wheel, a single add on won't require the hub.
Recently bought the t300rs having a lot of fun with it, if i can get the F1 rim it would be prefect
Should have mentioned the rotation degree especially for low budget, how much button or rotary switch and what kind of shifter included or excluded optional.
I was literally just looking at Thrustmaster gear today lol. Thanks for the upload! I didn't even know about the TSS Handbrake Sparco Mod.
Glad I could help! The TSS Handbrake is fantastic although it is a little pricey for a handbrake.
@@OCRacing Yeah, do you happen to have any recommendations for a more budget oriented handbrake?
@@daveh1266 I can’t really recommend any as I don’t like to recommend products I’ve never owned or tested, but I know Fanatec has simple handbrake that costs like $120? Not sure if it’s any good however.
@@OCRacing Okay, I will watch some reviews. Thanks for your help!
@@daveh1266 you can find cheap USB handbrakes on amazon. I have one and it works perfectly. compared to the fanatec handbrake there's virtually no difference in feel other than the grip itself on the brake. Don't overspend on a handbrake, the shifter and pedals are more important.
i have the t80 and g29. the t80 actually also has the belt-pulley system. not a bad wheel, but a bit small (and i drive a civic irl so like if im saying the wheel is small that's saying something)
I have the TX-RW Leather edition, I've had it since 2018 or so and I love it! Still going strong and still feels like brand new.
I got the tmx wheel yesterday and I can tell you all it is amazing just the pedals have no weight
Thank you for such a great roundup! Why does Thrustmaster not have this collated somewhere on their website!?
This Channel is underrated AF !!
Nice, this will come in handy when I get my hands on Gran Turismo
Thank you. This helps a lot. Looking at Facebook market place is confusing not knowing if you are getting a good deal or not.
I’m new to Simulation Racing, i got the Ferrari 458 Spyder wheel/pedals. It’s a great start for sure
Honestly really underrated channel
Could you explain on which servo base can the add on wheels be added on.
Great roundup. What I need to know is if I already have the t300 with the alcantera Ferrari wheel for PlayStation. Can I purchase the sparco wheel for that base to use on PlayStation?
getting the t3pm pedals and th8a shifter for xmas and soon after will be changing my t128 for a better base
Just wanted to say, your vids are amazing, been binging them the past few days as I have been thinking of getting a wheel. I hope your channel does well!
Thank you! Let me know what you end up going with :)
@@OCRacing Due to budget, space and availability and that I will mainly be playing asseto corsa, ETS2 and maybe a few other games. I was able to get a G920 and Gearshifter for about £165 on Ebay. Thanks for the vids its been helpful.
@@Team100 that’s awesome man, enjoy 😊
I know this comment is 4 months late, but I can’t hold back a comment to say how much this helped me. This was explained amazingly, and your channel deserves so much more love. Thanks for making this video (and the fanatec one)
Glad it helped 🙏
Great video, not interested in buying thrustmaster gear, but i have still watched it
I appreciate you 🤝
What about the T248 would you recommend this over the tmx ? New player looking to upgrade from my fist wheel ( 458 spider)
To be honest you can race even at high levels without force feedback. If you've never used ff before you can get used to non ff wheels pretty easily. You just go off of revs, audio and visual cues rather than feel. I know it sounds weird but muscle memory works with anything. ff helps immersion but lap times won't change although if your not used to non ff it can be hard to find the limits which obviously will hinder your lap times until you get the muscle memory down.
Then just stick to controller
@@pikkyuukyuun4741the wheel has much more precision, so a controller is not an equivalent here
I have the t300 rs with the t3pa pro pedal set with load cell mods, I have all the wheels except the latest f1 wheel , but I use a drive hub to run a Aiologs shifter and handbrake which is great , my question is you left out the t3pa pro pedal set which you can still buy but are very hard to get
Only reason is because I totally forgot about them and I don’t believe Thrustmaster sells them new anymore.
As far as I understand, the TS-XW, T-GT, & TS-PC are pretty much the same wheel bases internally.
I had a G27 that I used for GT5 and GT6, and I always wanted a T500RS because I used one in a tournament and couldn't believe how much better it is compared to the G27. I would love to buy a T-GT, but availability of sim racing gear here in Mexico is not great, so I will have to settle for the GT Kit of the T300RS. I'm literally just patiently waiting to see if Thrustmaster will release a new version or a new wheel base for the PS5 and GT7.
Me watching this even though the ~99$ wheels are too expensive:
*Interesting*
Great overview!! This will help racers who wants to buy Thrustmaster race products 👍 i started with the T-300 GT and F1 Add on wheel, but i keep on updating and now in 2021, this is my set up: T-GT base, T-LCM pedals and the SF1000 wheel. Happy with this all for using it with F1 game and next year Gran Turismo on Ps5
Is there a difference between gear & belt Force feedback and belt & pulley Force Feedback?
Good video as always. I have one question what was the game in the first 30 seconds?
Hi there - this is assetto corsa in the “Lake Louise” map mod. Driving a 458 Italia.
The base ferrari 458 spider wheel does work on but you will need to get a usb cable
How would you say the TS-XW base compares to the TX?
Finally the best comparison vid
I'll probably get into sim racing with a g29. If I like it and am willing to spend more on this, I'll go with a nice thrustmaster set. If I want to get the best experience after that while spending a ton of money, I'll grab myself a fine Fanatec set (and make a hole in my wallet as well)
exactly this bro, started on a g29 and quest 2, got a motion rig and an index, will put thrustmaster gear on that as I'm more for fun and realism than competitive sim racing
Consider fanatec CSL DD it's 350 euro for a direct drive base. It's crazy value
@@julianmorgan79 That's actually a great advise. Thanks!
@@agent9184 Doesn't the g29 feel a bit small?
I have the G29 got it cheap the wheel itself is decent but the brake pedal feels horrible, had to recalibrate it about 40% of the push, now I can actually break in Dirt 2.0 lol
Bruv, how did you get alle the monaay to buy the different wheels? Great video production man keep it up
A job?
@@stefanbondeson6505 thats like 5k worth of wheels. Thats a crapton of money
What about the T3PA Pro pedals?
Thanx.. I got the T-GT II recently since it’s compatible with PS5..
I might be getting the T300RS GTE, is there anything that I should know about it before buying?
TMX is pretty good. My first one died in a year though. Current one I’ve had since 2017 or 18
Hi is the t300ferraei alcantara edition same as t300rs gt and just costing more for the wheel?
Is this PPT of Thrustmaster catalogue available on their website, with voiceover where i cant understand 458 488
Great explanation!
Glad you think so :)
I think the t300rs gt is the best option, have one myself love it
Thank you.. this was a most useful video. Exactly the information I was looking for.
Does anyone know if the Spider 458 wheel base work with the more recent pedals, such as T3PM, or even the T LCM?
ik i am late but does the gt base just the base still only work gt exclusive or can it work on iracing
I would like to start sim racing but I have no idea what wheel to get. What can you recommend for a beginner wheel
the music was such a vibe
Best keep in mind, prices on sim racing equipment vary massively. Discounts are very common and there is wide variability between markets.
The T3PA Add on I can't find it for $100 I can find it for $200 though are you able to find it for $100
@@beauhawkins1716 in Finland, I can find it for about €140
What wheelbase would you use the SF1000 F1 wheel with? Would be cool to hook it up to a DD1
It’s only compatible with thrustmaster wheelbases
Do I need a table to use the wheele or can I just use a plastic stool
I don't have a space for a table
So basically I found my dad’s old 458 spider wheel but I want to use it on pc, is it completely impossible to use it on pc or can I buy an adapter or something
Does the TH8A shifter work with a Ferrari 458 Spyder steering wheel?
Im pretty sure a recent windows update broke the 458 italia on pc but idk i just kept getting black screens and my gpu driver would get messed up if i plugged mine in
Is the SF1000 wheel compatible with the T80 FERRARI 488 GTB ?
Please reply
Will the pc wheels work if I’m using the Xbox all on my computer to play Xbox games?
Which servo base i need to get for SF1000 wheel for PS5 ?
What is the best wheel to buy if you have the T3 100 R? S base
As a noob this is a great video. Thank you
I suggest y’all hop on offer up, I got an entire g29 cockpit chair and stand included for 180 plus $15 dollar shipping
Will the spaco 310 be able to use the shifter?
Thanks for this bro
Solid video ! are these T-LCM pedals compatible with ps5? I recently bought the T-LCM, T300 base with TM open wheel for f1 2021. How is the setup?
I believe the T-LCMs should work with PS5 although I’m not 100% sure. That’s an incredible lineup of gear! Enjoy and let me know what you think of it 👍
which wheelbase should be used for the SF1000 wheel?
i got the 458 spider wheel and it also
works with the pc
So no single wheel in the mid range work for all xbox, ps5, and pc?
Hi which of these thrustmaster wheels support the Ferrari SF1000 add-on wheel? I currently own the t150 pro and from what I have heard, it does not support the sf1000 ferrari add-on wheel
Anything above the T300. So, the T300, TS-XW, and T500 (and probably a few others I’m forgetting) allow you to interchange wheels. The T248 is NOT compatible with wheel rim add-on’s
is that console version of Assetto Corsa are you running at the end of video?
Do you think that thrustmaster will make a dd base? I have the sf1000 and I have the 458 Italia tx base but it isn’t the best in strength in ffb
I made a video predicting what I think the sim racing market will look like 1 year from now. I talk about it there.
Soo this video just came on my fyp, i just want to add for people that also see it just now, tp8s now exist which is a budget shifter for 70 euro
I needed this when I was buying my wheel and brand new to sum racing, got a g920 lol
For some reason, Thrustmaster's lineup is extremely confusing and people are always asking me about it which is why I made this video lol.
@@OCRacing thanks for getting me out of there, I though my only option was Logitech! Thrustmaster's TMX pro is looking like an upgrade (from the G920) for the same price though, as the brake pedal isn't incredibly stiff so thanks for the explanation on Thrustmaster's lineup, I really appreciate it!
@@jamesidk_9081 don't go TM go fanatec
@@jamesidk_9081 I did the brake mod on the G920 and put a mod in I got from eBay and it feels way better.
Im thinking about buying the TX servo base but also the TS XW for Xbox, i only cant decide. Which one would you recommend?
Highly recommend the TS-XW. I have a review on it as well.
i pre ordered the t248 hoping its nice
can you use the pedals on any of the wheels
are the addons available for the 458 Spyder?
So does this mean any of the wheel add ons are swappable with any thrustmaster wheel
E.g can I swap the t80 original wheel with the open wheel
Unfortunately not. Only wheel rims starting from the T300 series up allow for interchangeable wheel rims.
Can the Logitech shifter work with the thrustmaster t150 pro on ps5????
So there is no difference between the tx 458 and the tx LE?
can I buy a separate base for my t150pro wheel?
Is the T300RS GT any good for my first wheel?
you forgot to mention the Thrustmasters Ferrari F430 FFB wheel where that one is compatible with PS and PC also that one you can get for like £60 or $70
I did get ts xw and Ferrari 250 gto wheel it is amazing
Can I put any wheel on any thrustmastet ecosystem base?
I had the t150 and now the t300 rs gt. With shifter and the f1 wheel
Is thrustmaster a significant upgrade from the Logitech wheel? I know Logitech is gear driven which I hear is terrible for drifting in comparison to the belt driven ones
Depends which Thrustmaster wheel
