Anxiously awaiting your thorough review with samples! 35mm is my favorite focal length.

I'm still learning to love 35mm its like in-between a 24mm and a 50mm I'm not too sure how to treat it. I know for the 24mm or 16mm I can get wide, and 50mm im so used to that but 35mm and 85mm I'm completely off to those focal lengths but I'm excited to try it more!

Yup! Save the silica packs! Great to throw in a camera bag to get rid of humidity...and sometimes those camera backpacks do get sweaty

Only if you keep reheating them to dry out surely, bit of a hassle

The silica gel packets actually last very long! Just hear it up once it’s sucked up a lot of moisture (dunno how long until they start to become ineffective), and evaporate the water. Silica gel is just a very hard and effective sponge, just chuck it in the oven at a not-so-high temperature for a while and it’s good to go (seriously, set the temp to like 100C, I’m deathly afraid I’ll burn something). This might also vary by the brand of the silica gel packets (might be paper or plastic on the outside and may not be very heat resistant). I guess just play around for a little until it works.
Although to be honest with the amount of silica gel packets that you get from food and things I doubt you’ll need to do all that

Laowa is a Hong Kong company not a Chinese one. There is huge difference between Hong Kong and China.I wonder why the lens isn't offered with L mount since the flange focal distance of Z mount is 16mm, the e-mount 18mm, RF mount 20mm and L mount 20mm too.

    • @KenRockwellTV

Oops; I thought they were Chinese. Of course there’s a huge difference between independent Hong Kong and China. Thanks!

@@KenRockwellTV There really isn't. Its just where the rich Chinese businessmen do their work because the government allows foreign businesses to invest there.

mr rockwell do you have a favourite focal length? is it 35mm or do you like to go wide 16-35mm or do you like 50mm or tele or just an all around 18-200mm what's your favourite lens to use?

35mm is normal. I’ll pack a 21/3.4, 35/1.4, 50 and 90 and I’m good. Usually the 21 and 90 are used for most shots. The 35 is usually for night hand held and the 50 just comes along. Thanks!

@@KenRockwellTV that's what I like about u, we don't need those normal shots 💯 man such a great response, but youre not a fan of the ultra wide look?? And is the 90mm a macro? Man that's a solid kit I'm gonna try 21mm and 90mm and see how I like it vs 24mm and 85mm or 100mm

Hi Ken, Do have an article or video to compare photos taken by iPhone 12 Pro Max and Nikon Full Frame camera? I’m thinking to spend $2600 on a full frame Nikon instead of buying new iPhone 12 or 13 pro max? Maybe I’m wrong. Please give your advice. Thank you 😊

iPhone better most of the time, while the old style cameras are better only for fringe things like ultra tele photo bird shots, studio use with strobes or other oddball stuff. For travel and people the iPhone rules.

so how well is this for low light non-scientific video and still picture taking ? lol...

It’s less good technically and ergonomically than AF f/1.4 lenses. It’s much more of a Sceince experiment as it has no communication with the camera, so only use it as a special effect or for surveillance.
