I was a Scary Monsters/Red Hot Chili Peppers Vampire main for over 2 and a half years, and man I was disappointed in both my favorite stand and one of my mains was turned into a super meta inf combo stand instead of the old high pressure chasedown playstyle focusing on chaining stand knockdowns.
Same, I used to play GER Vamp and that stand was so much fun bc it had actual mixups or setups with ice and summons. You were playing mind games all the time when you got a freeze and also could do quick confirms when block break doing scorpions into blood suck at that time. Now? Vampire rework is ass, no more ice setups, no more blood suck combos or mind games. Old vamp was so much fun.

There’s a bug with SM where if you’re in Full Form and do /e sit in main game, then spam your shift-lock key, you just fly. I’m not sure if it works in all gamemodes, but it works in maingame as long as you’re not combat logged, do with this information as you wish Edit: they patched it :(
One aspect of YBA combat that I dearly miss was the simplicity of abilities. Back in the day stands would have like 5 major moves at best, very few of which were combo moves. Nowadays every reworked stand has like 50 billion moves all of which confirm into another one of those 50 billion moves.
and the amount of beatdowns man, YBA back in the day is like a random card deck that you must use positionally and strategically to make sure the moves help each other, like CD back in the day only have like 2 damaging moves, the bearing and the wall, but because of the rock trap and other combo it's still one of the greats nowadays ? beatdowns after beatdowns after beatdowns

yba is falling under the "gpo effect" Where as long as your animations, models, attacks, etc etc look good and is very strong it will be a good update apparently. Balancing can come later because no matter how bad the update is, you will always come back.
@SolidoNaso. When Paragon thinks max FF Liver Shot should not even confirm a M1, while every other spec's combo extender that requires no bar to make even remotely decent should be able to confirm a beatdown.... Yeah I think he should just block Paragon
There’s a fighting game I really enjoy called Dragon Ball FighterZ that’s really fast paced and results with people being able to die in 2 combos. FighterZ does have balance issues, but it is nowhere near as messy as YBA, and the reason people don’t like the shift to one-shot combos (aka TODs or Touch of Death combos) in YBA is because those weren’t established early on. YBA was very neutral based before all of these crazy reworks, and although some abilities were just outright useless and made matches 10x longer, the game balance was never this bad. You still had a wide variety of options for good stands and specs, so people could main multiple builds and they could be viable. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. FighterZ also has certain mechanics like damage scaling (light attacks, projectiles, and vanishes scale down the damage of your combos so they can’t 2 touch) and hitstun decay (every move has a certain amount of stun that lessens for every extra hit in your combo) to make a good risk-reward system and prevent TODs or infinite loops that require 0 skill. YBA looks like it’s adopting the philosophy of common mods: “If everything is broken, it’s balanced.” However, that quickly leads to over-centralization (when something is so broken or bad that it makes fundamental aspects of the game irrelevant). I believe that YBA is currently experiencing over-centralization right now because these combos make any damage reduction passives look like a joke, forcing people to use them as they won’t survive otherwise. The abrupt combat change is proof that YBA is suffering.
I play dbfz too (since launch season 2) and, while it was a better game in all aspects than yba and it's another genre, neutral-focused yba was at the same level of fun when your opponent wasn't playing bullshit. I miss playing ger vamp or chariot requiem box and getting that reversed beatdown with your own shadow or using arrow barrage.
In my opinion games like yba should have at minimum a 12 move limit (including your summon, block, barrage and finisher), as there are about 12 keys that are within a somewhat reasonable range of the wasd keys. Those keys being qertyfghzxcv after that you're pretty much reaching to the other side of your keyboard to use anything. 12 in of itself is more than enough moves, that's just shy of half of the alphabet. As stated earlier in the video, there are combos with 15+ moves. Imagine any other fighting game where you might have to hit something like the L key to even use a move.
7:33 I had this happen to me randomly during main game, I think it happens when you use the full body pounce-like move when there is a lag thingy going on, I could not explain why it does this, but the ONLY way to get out of it is to suicide. Sounds kinda familiar to the original scary monsters getting soft locked when ragdolled in ts, huh?
I joined yba at around the start of the content drought era and it sucks to see how the game has slowly fallen apart, there was so much promise with stone free and pluck because they were both really cool, and balanced fairly well, but then spin came out and it only really went downhill from there with more and more ridiculous comboes and op stands that make the game unplayable. It used to be so much fun but now it's just annoying to try and play 1v1s and get caught by a near instant block break or dash or whatever and take 58285728519519500 damage.
the 3 cream mains in all of existence watching as the next stand to be released get a walkspeed passive and autoblock passive that makes both their moves shit
What adds on to the clones making it annoying is that when you use the move it not only causes you to lag, but it auto tracks and does a crap load of dmg and then adds on to the fact that the clones can do more additional damage right after they’re spawn dmg💀
The thing about the passive: While yes, if you do fully upgrade it, it is strong, but it requires like 30 skill points to get the max upgrade so no one using a spec is going to be able to max it out with a strong enough build
i love this because it doesn't even talk about any of the other awful decisions they made, like nerfing every spec except vamp and spin to pretty much dust

Yba new combat is literally "i hit you first, you die first" cuz hitting literally anyone with a move makes you start a combo that can last a whole minute of pain for both players: you get a crap ton of visual effects that have the potential of making you permanently blind and the victim is gonna get humiliated by the shit ton of damage he is about to take
also another fun glitch, if you transform to full dino mode, do /e sit, and turn on shiftlock, it can make you fly around the map aimlessly for as long as the full dino mode lasts, ive done this a bunch of times and it never fails when you get the hang of it
I wish we could return to old yba combat where each stand only had a handful of moves. No one spammed their entire moveset and pvp lasted for longer and was more interesting. Now theres so many moves that you cant bind all of your moves with certain stand and spec combos
Old stands are simple, and i think the new ones should be too. Because old stands have boundaries - they can be weak sometimes, they can lose in specific situations sometimes. But If it was JUST stands then yeah make them more complex and add more moves. But yknow... specs exist. They are made to cover some of those weaknesses or enhance your strengths. But get that goofy ass "balancing" and "creating mechanics that synergize with one another" outta this game. We making stands strong as hell and rework all specs just that you could 100-0 people with ease.
Honestly im ok with a stand that has a lot of moves/unique mechanics,as long as they are BALANCED,new SM would be balanced if Uzu reduced the damage on dino form,and made its block breaks parryable New and revorked stands fell completely out of place in yba for me,try playing some old stand/spec combos(sp,kcr,hg or ph) and then playing wa,cd or sm fells like playing a different game Remember when only true block breaks were spec moves and like 3-4 stand moves,you cant barrage out of vamp counter or fosilisation(the ONE option you almost always had to do SOMETHING about the combo you are in),the blatant move spam and bread and butter combos that completely throw out the old neutral play/m1 trade playstyle,it fells like uzu makes this new specs and stands for a different game And there are stands that have unique playstyles,KQ for example,with its bomb combos and zoning,or HG with its barrier and insane stun move,but low damage,or GER ,and unique mechanics,RHCP,is not op but has interesting mechanics that are unique to it but they still can be parried or blocked
Uzu should stop mouth watering at the idea of adding freeze stuns to stands. I believe every stand update since stone free has had it, the start of it all.
It's a free unit, has a 100-20 kind of combo without a spec, and they know that and like eclipse said before, "they are boiling the pot slowly to make sure the frog doesn't jump out" they won't stop with just this. Next time it's going to be even worse and worse and worse etc. Don't expect much from the "creators" of a failed game. Thats all I have to say.
YBA is the only game that can make a stand with 2 freeze moves, 2 range block breaks, 2 auto aim minion moves, 1 second barrage that does not have endlag, a mode that lasts 20 seconds, and a dash beatdown, while still pulling in more players.

Yooooo, I'm the kcr in 2:52 and all I can say is this stand is the worst if you are slightly lagging. Having several dashing moves that can look like they are teleporting everywhere, wonking up the hitboxes. And even when both sides have good connections, it can still have wacky hitboxes because of how roblox works, why does he keep adding dashing moves?!.
Remember when GER awakening was considered op for its crazy 30 seconds of 100-0 moves? Now pretty much everything in the game is like that. and now everything has WAY too many visual effects

I've grinded COUNTLESS prestige 3 accounts back in the day to test new builds and stands without having to change it on my main, tens of hours playing yba just doing the same bandit beating simulator, and then I quit due to lack of content, I come back and til this day, I haven't see THIS MUCH VFX, I cant even make out the combos they're doing with this stand, vfx cover my whole eyes and I can only react to the end of the move and STILL not realise what moves were used
On another video reviewing SM, two people came into the replies of a comment I made saying that it looks good but needs some major balance changes and they tried so hard to argue me down, one of them giving the point that “It’s a dinosaur. Dino’s are strong. What more proof do you need.” The hell kinda logic is that??

so anyways sm has a specless one shot combo shown by absolutely alexander. i can say that the new upd is fairly fair and balanced and also i think the spin buff was really fair giving a 36% dmg buff to all projectiles on the stand youre using + the actual spec spin when youre using spin charge is really balanced. totally doesnt make it so soft and wet gb spin has a one shot combo now. that would never happen :)

The effects remind me of ABA's Tengen situation, they made the effects WAY too heavy and as a result whenever a Tengen hit a move they'd probably land it cause the other guy is having 10 FPS
Not sure if you're still doing build or bust eclipse, but it if you are, for some reason because this game is already sad enough, can you do SC+Vamp. i know you've done this before but it's a little bit "balanced" now if you're willing to check it's almost half + hp combo. Block break/ Million Pricks/ Cycle Slash / Oblivion of Death / SRS Eyes / Last Shot / Zombie Creation / Superhuman Barrage. At the end there might even be time for the cycle slash cooldown TO BE UP.
i remember i was in a server and there were 2 guys saying that the new scary monsters rework was balanced 💀when i told them they were delusional they just said scary monsters was better before the rework.... at that moment i lost hope in yba's community.

What adds on to the clones making it annoying is that when you use the move it not only causes you to lag, but it auto tracks and does a crap load of dmg and then adds on to the fact that the clones can do more additional damage right after they’re spawn dmg💀
Hidetaka Miyazaki should take inspiration for bosses from Uzu for the elden ring DLC

The thing about the passive: While yes, if you do fully upgrade it, it is strong, but it requires like 30 skill points to get the max upgrade so no one using a spec is going to be able to max it out with a strong enough build

Yba new combat is literally "i hit you first, you die first" cuz hitting literally anyone with a move makes you start a combo that can last a whole minute of pain for both players: you get a crap ton of visual effects that have the potential of making you permanently blind and the victim is gonna get humiliated by the shit ton of damage he is about to take

also another fun glitch, if you transform to full dino mode, do /e sit, and turn on shiftlock, it can make you fly around the map aimlessly for as long as the full dino mode lasts, ive done this a bunch of times and it never fails when you get the hang of it
I wish we could return to old yba combat where each stand only had a handful of moves. No one spammed their entire moveset and pvp lasted for longer and was more interesting. Now theres so many moves that you cant bind all of your moves with certain stand and spec combos

Old stands are simple, and i think the new ones should be too. Because old stands have boundaries - they can be weak sometimes, they can lose in specific situations sometimes. But If it was JUST stands then yeah make them more complex and add more moves. But yknow... specs exist. They are made to cover some of those weaknesses or enhance your strengths.
But get that goofy ass "balancing" and "creating mechanics that synergize with one another" outta this game. We making stands strong as hell and rework all specs just that you could 100-0 people with ease.

Honestly im ok with a stand that has a lot of moves/unique mechanics,as long as they are BALANCED,new SM would be balanced if Uzu reduced the damage on dino form,and made its block breaks parryable
New and revorked stands fell completely out of place in yba for me,try playing some old stand/spec combos(sp,kcr,hg or ph) and then playing wa,cd or sm fells like playing a different game
Remember when only true block breaks were spec moves and like 3-4 stand moves,you cant barrage out of vamp counter or fosilisation(the ONE option you almost always had to do SOMETHING about the combo you are in),the blatant move spam and bread and butter combos that completely throw out the old neutral play/m1 trade playstyle,it fells like uzu makes this new specs and stands for a different game
And there are stands that have unique playstyles,KQ for example,with its bomb combos and zoning,or HG with its barrier and insane stun move,but low damage,or GER ,and unique mechanics,RHCP,is not op but has interesting mechanics that are unique to it but they still can be parried or blocked

It's a free unit, has a 100-20 kind of combo without a spec, and they know that and like eclipse said before, "they are boiling the pot slowly to make sure the frog doesn't jump out" they won't stop with just this. Next time it's going to be even worse and worse and worse etc. Don't expect much from the "creators" of a failed game. Thats all I have to say.

YBA is quickly becoming ABA levels of powercreep
YBA is the only game that can make a stand with 2 freeze moves, 2 range block breaks, 2 auto aim minion moves, 1 second barrage that does not have endlag, a mode that lasts 20 seconds, and a dash beatdown, while still pulling in more players.

i gotta say they really outdid themselves, back in the day only like 5 or 6 stands were usable but now only around like 2 are viable

I'm unsure if someone sent you this, but if you use Bites the dust on someone with the Dinosaur transformation active, it turns the scary monsters user invisible.

Scary Monsters going from the stand that made me start playing YBA in the first place to a (tottaly) very fair and balanced stand is at this point expected because of the state YBA Is in currently
Yooooo, I'm the kcr in 2:52 and all I can say is this stand is the worst if you are slightly lagging. Having several dashing moves that can look like they are teleporting everywhere, wonking up the hitboxes. And even when both sides have good connections, it can still have wacky hitboxes because of how roblox works, why does he keep adding dashing moves?!.
Remember when GER awakening was considered op for its crazy 30 seconds of 100-0 moves? Now pretty much everything in the game is like that. and now everything has WAY too many visual effects
I feel like if you take one of the reworked stands and specs go back into 2018 then you would be able to solo the whole server

I've grinded COUNTLESS prestige 3 accounts back in the day to test new builds and stands without having to change it on my main, tens of hours playing yba just doing the same bandit beating simulator, and then I quit due to lack of content, I come back and til this day, I haven't see THIS MUCH VFX, I cant even make out the combos they're doing with this stand, vfx cover my whole eyes and I can only react to the end of the move and STILL not realise what moves were used
On another video reviewing SM, two people came into the replies of a comment I made saying that it looks good but needs some major balance changes and they tried so hard to argue me down, one of them giving the point that “It’s a dinosaur. Dino’s are strong. What more proof do you need.” The hell kinda logic is that??

If they made fighting styles the same as stands and made it so you cant have a stand and a fighting style I feel like the game would be way more balanced then it currently is

The dash glitch that hits u from 2 miles away is actually just perspective from ur screen they are far away but on theirs ur close so it hits for them

so anyways sm has a specless one shot combo shown by absolutely alexander. i can say that the new upd is fairly fair and balanced and also i think the spin buff was really fair giving a 36% dmg buff to all projectiles on the stand youre using + the actual spec spin when youre using spin charge is really balanced. totally doesnt make it so soft and wet gb spin has a one shot combo now. that would never happen :)

The effects remind me of ABA's Tengen situation, they made the effects WAY too heavy and as a result whenever a Tengen hit a move they'd probably land it cause the other guy is having 10 FPS

Not sure if you're still doing build or bust eclipse, but it if you are, for some reason because this game is already sad enough, can you do SC+Vamp. i know you've done this before but it's a little bit "balanced" now if you're willing to check it's almost half + hp combo. Block break/ Million Pricks/ Cycle Slash / Oblivion of Death / SRS Eyes / Last Shot / Zombie Creation / Superhuman Barrage. At the end there might even be time for the cycle slash cooldown TO BE UP.
the final nail in the coffin is gonna be the existence of a “Moody Blues… what were they thinking?!”
