The calorific value of diesel is also low compared to petrol, but the engine's design makes the difference. More compression or something like that could solve this problem. But what is certain is the limited fossil fuel, it is a non-renewable resource and it will only deplete. Hence, making fuel from your crops will always be a better option because, in this way, every country can be self-sufficient to some extent like they are with cereals or grains. 3) Lastly the problem of excessive use of groundwater for irrigation. Btw food inflation is somewhat needed for the survival of farmers, otherwise we may end up always paying subsidised things to farmers which is clearly not working since the last 20 plus years.
A major problem we bikers are facing. If a few drops of water reach in our fuel tank due to rain, ethanol completely separates from fuel, and deposits at the bottom of tank and carburetor. We have to pay 2 to 400 every year for tank washing.
Also, more is ethanol, greater will be engine corrosion - lesser will be the life. And what will happen to already 15 years registered E10 engines running on road? Will government provide free upgrade to E20 engines? Who will bear the cost?
The extra sugarcane we export right now can be shifted to ethanol production. So how is ground water depletion going to increase? If currently also we are producing sugarcane and exporting it, then redirecting it to ethanol won't increase water consumption right? Need exact figures to check.
E10 and E20 are quite feasible in current and future prospects till 2050. 1. R&D on engines can be minimal as it is already a proven tech in few countries. 2. No. Engine will be damaged very badly. Govt doesn't care because you will buy another car and they will get 28% tax or 50% tax based on cc of the engine.
gadkari has said that a russian scientist has researched a way by which ethanol will be equal to petrol. hence mileage of ethanol will be equal to mileage of petrol, and that experiment also became successful. secondly your point about sugarcane needing large amouint of water is true, but government has successfully produced ethanol from pareli and other sourcesa, which u said will be only proven in future, but gadkari has already said that it is been tested and a proven method now. lastly your point of vehicles being abit more expensive in future is completely right, but to curb our dependency on gulf nations, saving our foreign reserves, relatively less pollution, we can do that much right?
Bina soche samjhe aggressive steps lene se sudharega kuch nhi. Gatkari in my opinion is less experienced to understand long term consequences, and the only problem is they impose rather taking steps in favor of public. 1. Hydrogen reactor in a small car.? 2. Ethanol will surely compromise car enthusiasts as power and mieage both will be compromised. 3. Likewise HSRP didn't proved anything positive. 4. BS6 Phase 2 will raise cost of production, is it important in times of inflation.? Voting this government was a very big mistake.
I would like to correct you on your last point. CO2 is used up from the atmosphere by plants & emitted by vehicles when you use flex fuel. So the net effect in CO2 emission is zero.
Dam like chilka, mython, paanchet, gajol doba( Floating solar), Govt. building like railway platform, railway track, bus terminus, school, college, highway > solar panel > electric energy > utilise in heavy vehicles with pantograph with twin engine option like disel and electric > decrease polution, as well as transportation cost.
One important point you skipped here sir. Bcoz petroleum fuel has a high quantity of sulphur and lead which is highly polluting and dangerous . But in flex or say ethanol fuel, , it's almost absent there. So considering environmental effects, , , flex fuel is way better then petroleum. . Secondly, , we should also consider here that most of the crop residue is burnt in India ( I think whole world) . The govt is pushing towards solving this issue. This will benefit us in two ways, , 1. No need to burn crom residue means no smoke in the air, , And bcoz burning of crop residue cause death to helpful microorganisms in farm soil. It can be prevented well if crop residue is used in making flex fuel. 2. Farmers will get atleast some money in their hands for which they were burning till now and getting nothing in return. . . One more point ( bcoz I'm a science student and keenly interested in researching such topics ). After many analytics, , it was found that engine wear and tear wasn't that much low after some certain time what it was thought of / expected initially. Means comparatively better in this aspect here. . . Yeah. Got it. One more and important point. . Average efficiency of a IC engine is appx 40% . It means almost 60% fuel is exhausted out without complete burning which causes a harmful effect on environment. But this doesn't happen in case of flex fuel. Bcoz ethanol ( as found after many researches, experiments, testing) doens't harm the environment that much what is done by petroleum fuel. ( Though is does, , but the ratio shows some relief giving signs) . . Hope, you won't mind my teachings to you today 🤭🤭. . Thanks
Wait so if they switch to 20 or even 40 percent eth fuel in next 10 years what will happen to engines made in this year. If that fuel will be made compulsory does that mean all our current engines will rot away ?

I really think that India should focus more on corn harvesting as the major source of ethanol by giving subsidies to agritech industries to develop methods of scale. Plus with the newest discovery of lithium reserves, govt should strive to regulate ev prices so that companies dont start making more than necessary profit so that evs can become cheap, as they easily can. Setting battery manufacturing facilities in india by the private sector should also be a major focus.
Very well explained end to end , all electric vehicles are the future ! people should just skip buying flex fuel supported vehicles does not make sense at this point of time
Ethanol Fuel will not help india in any case, ethanol might be mixed with petrol but larger question is since diesel is an important fuel which is required more in volume than petrol, and diesel is only available in limited volume in any crude per volume, since are diesel volumes are increasing we still have to increase oil import(since it is limited per volume of crude) and petrol is a by product in crude distillation so we will have even more petrol in the market which will reduce the cost of petrol comparable to diesel which will negate the use of ethanol blending.
@@domonkor7667 Hydrogen is difficult to produce,50 KWH for 1 kg of H2,which would cost around $4-5 to produce, and transport is very difficult and storing in compressed form causes embrittlement in metals.

Ethanol producers less combustion energy per gallon than paterol urf octane so power losses in vehicle would be common to minimise power loss little amount say 15 to 20 percentage of gasoline is required buy knocking problem will be removed by ethanol
So ethanol powers the performance vehicles. How is it better than petrol if you need more ethanol than normal petrol to get the same power output and range .
I think bikes, mopeds and small vehicles should switch to ethanol and too large vehicles like long range trucks, road trains, airplanes, rail engines, should switch to hydrogen fuel cell. Whereas cars, city buses should go all electric
Simplest way of analysis is sample method. We can consider Brazil and other countries who are using ethanol from years and add corrective measures to it.

Even if we switch to 100 percent ethanol, prices of fuel per litre will not come down coz all governments have got greedy and they just want to increase revenue rather than reducing dependency on other oil producing nations or to reduce emissions.
I love ethanol the only hope for ice engine against Evs can can save ice engines without compromising on exhaust sound , power, manual transmission , driving feel and most importantly cost
Absolutely. ICE is ❤️ even it runs on ethanol.
@@bingchilling3377 even hybrids are acceptable not evs , EVs should only be accepted if they help in my country’s economic development
@@Uvwxyz-f2i yea but sadly our Indian government doesn't understand these basic things
Even when requested for, they are not willing to reduce taxes on hybrid vehicles and keep taxes on EVs at 5%,so they clearly are promoting EVs more
Also you are somewhat wrong, Ethanol does compromise on power, driving feel and even mileage
It also reduces the life expectancy of an engine

Any thing for the country man
@@Uvwxyz-f2i when most people in India buy a car under 8 lakh,do you think it'll help the economy?
even under 20 lakh you have hardly 2 to 3 options and they are 6-7 lakhs more than their ICE counterpart
All this is when government charges just 5% taxes on EV
Just imagine if government had some sense and would charge 5% tax on hybrids, how much it would benefit people
Btw food inflation is somewhat needed for the survival of farmers, otherwise we may end up always paying subsidised things to farmers which is clearly not working since the last 20 plus years.
बहुत ही बढ़िया तरीके से क्रमवार सभी बिंदुओं को शामिल करते हुए समझाया है आपने।
The extra sugarcane we export right now can be shifted to ethanol production. So how is ground water depletion going to increase?
If currently also we are producing sugarcane and exporting it, then redirecting it to ethanol won't increase water consumption right? Need exact figures to check.

Just a little correction top fuel doesn't use ethanol is uses nitrometh ane as fuel they are very much different.
Much required topic 🙌🏻
There are lots of disadvantages on flex fuel apart from making more money for government.
E10 and E20 are quite feasible in current and future prospects till 2050. 1. R&D on engines can be minimal as it is already a proven tech in few countries. 2. Ethanol price of 65 will come down once the production ramps up. 3. We need more agriculture reforms to produce more crop efficiently. Conclusion: We need to move towards green energy as much as possible in the next 10/20 years. Solar and green H2 can lead us in this direction.
Nothing going to work
@Biturbo media - Bhai now is the time to research about lithium reserve we found in J&K. Drop your video sooner or later about impact on EV manufacturing, cost, performance, business. ... Will be waiting for it.
Well explained bro.
I had quite a lot of doubts regarding this topic
Electric is the best alternative, ev charging setup is lot easier then this, but government will not get much money from tax that is why they are promoting this option now over the EV
Evs are the worst, hydrogen and ethanol too
Ev are utter pice of garbage
But what about existing vehicles. Would they be able to work on E20 fuel without damage to engine components?
No. Engine will be damaged very badly. Govt doesn't care because you will buy another car and they will get 28% tax or 50% tax based on cc of the engine.

Oh finally some one talking about this things 😣😖😐
gadkari has said that a russian scientist has researched a way by which ethanol will be equal to petrol. hence mileage of ethanol will be equal to mileage of petrol, and that experiment also became successful. secondly your point about sugarcane needing large amouint of water is true, but government has successfully produced ethanol from pareli and other sourcesa, which u said will be only proven in future, but gadkari has already said that it is been tested and a proven method now. lastly your point of vehicles being abit more expensive in future is completely right, but to curb our dependency on gulf nations, saving our foreign reserves, relatively less pollution, we can do that much right?
Bina soche samjhe aggressive steps lene se sudharega kuch nhi. Gatkari in my opinion is less experienced to understand long term consequences, and the only problem is they impose rather taking steps in favor of public.
1. Hydrogen reactor in a small car.?
2. Ethanol will surely compromise car enthusiasts as power and mieage both will be compromised.
3. Likewise HSRP didn't proved anything positive.
4. BS6 Phase 2 will raise cost of production, is it important in times of inflation.?
Voting this government was a very big mistake.
Dont feel offended but Gadkari is always saying 6 month me ye hoga wo hoga and his deadlines are hardly if ever met.
This will benefit us in two ways, ,
( Though is does, , but the ratio shows some relief giving signs)
.
.
Hope, you won't mind my teachings to you today 🤭🤭.
.
Thanks
E85 fuel is also used by hyper car manufacturer Koenigsegg
A noble thought & an honest recommendations you've shared admin.
You did not ans the biggest question - are existing BS3 and BS4 engines compatible with E20 fuel??
No, upto E10 only
@@justathinker8669 Im assuming BS6 engine are compatible with it
Wait so if they switch to 20 or even 40 percent eth fuel in next 10 years what will happen to engines made in this year. If that fuel will be made compulsory does that mean all our current engines will rot away ?
then what about HYDROGEN , CNG , EVs ....??
FLEX-FUEL Lane SE Achha ho Sakta hai. Aur Bura bhi. Par, Bio-diesel SE Achha hi ho Sakta hai. Bura nahin. Cooking oil SE banta hai, Bio-diesel. Us PE bhi Ek Video Banayiye. TATA Sumo ka engine aisa hi tha. Bio-diesel wala.
Most vehicles in India run on diesel engines, there won't be much impact on use of flex fuel ⛽
Environment saving..by releasing CO2 during fermentation ? Did any research conducted for that?
I really think that India should focus more on corn harvesting as the major source of ethanol by giving subsidies to agritech industries to develop methods of scale. Plus with the newest discovery of lithium reserves, govt should strive to regulate ev prices so that companies dont start making more than necessary profit so that evs can become cheap, as they easily can. Setting battery manufacturing facilities in india by the private sector should also be a major focus.
Good one bro, you always do hard things. I subscribed and liked it as well.
i don't think spirit made from corns is as more eco-friendly than petrol its all the same or may be even worse
The problem is what about old cars which lose performance and mileage on flex fuel and this fuel compromises vehicle's overall health in the long run
Awesome video very well researched ❤️
Mileage drops and hence more fuel is required so overall no real impact
Just stupidity

Ethanol Fuel will not help india in any case, ethanol might be mixed with petrol but larger question is since diesel is an important fuel which is required more in volume than petrol, and diesel is only available in limited volume in any crude per volume, since are diesel volumes are increasing we still have to increase oil import(since it is limited per volume of crude) and petrol is a by product in crude distillation so we will have even more petrol in the market which will reduce the cost of petrol comparable to diesel which will negate the use of ethanol blending.
Hydrogen is for disel vehicle competitor.

Ethanol can be produced from a bamboo/ wood like cellulose containing materials or alge.

Simplest way of analysis is sample method. We can consider Brazil and other countries who are using ethanol from years and add corrective measures to it.

Lekin pichle ek saal se Gadkari ji bol rahe hai ki ek Russian scientist ne ethanol aur petrol ki caloric value same karwa ke dikha di jisko Indian oil ke chairman Vaidya sahab ne bhi mana. Woh aapko cover karna chahiye tha.
