With such a large tweeter, the vertical dispersion must be extremely focused = small vertical sweet spot

Really looking forward to your review of these. Can you please compare the Maria 800 with the 350 amp to see if there are any sonic differences? Also, could you please ask Mark Levinson how his new amps compare with his Mark Levinson ML 50 Limited Edition pre and power amps? Not sure if you have ever heard the latter but they sounded amazing. More natural and sweeter than DAGs. Shame they were made in such limited quantity. Many thanks for sharing

I'm trying to understand where the 50,000 euro ($74,000 cad) price came from because I can't see all of that value. Correct me if I'm wrong.
so how they compare with Genelec 8361 AP which go for 10k usd?
electronic crossover is the way. but electrostatics is an even better way to go

This is an active dsp'd speaker system with the active part being in the front box rather than in the speakers. It should be compared to other active digital speaker solutions rather than a conventional passive speaker + amp combo. Right off the bat I can tell you one theoretical disadvantage of this system: The long speaker cable runs required compared with the minimally sort runs required in 'conventional' active speakers where amps are adjacent to the drivers. DSP can make small speakers have low bass but at the expense of either low SPL or high distortion, there's no free lunch. Also, that tweeter looks too long, especially with small speakers that tend to be listened to more near field. I assume they will beam like crazy in the vertical dimension.
the passive speakers alone cost $30k
@@net_news These particular speakers cannot play without an active crossover so they are not passive in the real sense. On top of that I'm pretty sure they will sound much worse without their dedicated dsp. They are meant to pair with the external 'amp'.
@@razisn I'm sure you are right!! It's just incredible to me that a pair of passive bookshelves ALONE cost $30k!! And you have to get the $50k amp to actually use them. ha!
That's $80k for a pair of "active" bookshelves! 15 years ago you could get top tier Magico's or Wilson's with that kind money. Today you get "Daniel Hertz" bookshelves.

@@ewhite5381 $30k for a pair of bookshelves my gosh... even if the speakers are handmade by top Swiss Bank CEOs and glued with unicorn blood you can reach $30k of costs. I really repudiate these surreal price strategies, it's very sad.

I tend to agree, but these are toys for the ultra rich in the end. 50 grand? I’d get the biggest magnapans They have a couple of amazing subwoofers and an incredible amp in my mansion.
Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know how a lot of these high end only brands are surviving these days with so many options out there.

I usually enjoy your videos, but why not review systems or components that the average middle class viewers can buy…your latest videos are on equipment that only multimillionaires can afford. When I see what you’re reviewing I watch a few minutes and then check out as it’s not for me and I would guess 99 of your viewers couldn’t afford this equipment .
He's presenting what he's selling. This is a high-end shop. Take it or leave it. He is no reviewer and he's not pretending to be one. He is a shop owner.

Daniel hertz audio is absolute shite , a complete rip off , expensive crap , absolutely nothing high end about his expensive shite audio products that uses an active crossover with cheap crappy class D amplification along with his overpriced speakers . Compared to ATC's SCM ASL DYNAMIC MONITORS active monitors , Daniel hertz does not compare or compete against .
after about five to ten grand for speakers and amps EACH , the sound doesn't get that much better . your better off spending the money to get high before you listen to your High End stuff. 😂
