NASA Finally Orders SpaceX Dragon To Rescue Starliner Astronouts!

  • The Starliner project has been the most talked-about spacecraft in 2024, not for its success but for its failures. Since the spacecraft docked to the International Space Station, the issues have only gotten worse, prompting NASA and Boeing to work tirelessly to resolve them. Now, NASA has just made a very important announcement that might change everything, and we will talk about it in this video.
    Before we delve any deeper, please make sure to subscribe to our channel for future updates.
    NASA held a critical virtual meeting on July 10th to deliberate on the future of the Starliner spacecraft, and that was just two days ago. Following a string of setbacks and technical difficulties that have beset the program-including a helium leak and thruster malfunction in June-this meeting was called. As the space agency chooses the best course of action to guarantee the safe return of their astronauts, the stakes are enormous.
    There is a lot of curiosity about NASA's recent decision. The space agency has stated that, in the event of a crisis, the Starliner spacecraft will have a fallback plan that involves SpaceX's Dragon capsule. This statement emphasizes how important SpaceX is to NASA's commercial crew program even now.
    Despite the difficulties, NASA remains optimistic about the Starliner's potential. Engineers are working around the clock to address over thirty issues with the spacecraft's propulsion system. Most of these problems have been fixed, and the rest ought to be completed soon.
    But testing has shown that Starliner's thrusters retain more heat than expected, making it more difficult to replicate flying conditions on the ground. As a result, more testing and modifications are needed to make sure the spacecraft is prepared for its return trip.
    NASA and Boeing are concentrating on carrying out additional ground testing at the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico in the near future. Understanding the spacecraft's propulsion system and making sure all problems are fixed before trying the return mission depend on these experiments.
    Steve Stitch, the manager of NASA's Commercial Crew program, has stated that he hopes the Starliner would be prepared for its return by the end of July. But, there is not much time left, so the team needs to work quickly to complete this task.
    The continuous efforts to resolve the thruster issues and helium leaks were emphasized by Mark Nappi, Vice President and Program Manager for Commercial Crew at Boeing. Engineers are testing flanges and seals in the propulsion system to find the source of the problems.
    The Crew-9 mission scheduled for mid-August by SpaceX also has an impact on when Starliner will return. Due to the space station's limited capacity, Starliner must undock in order to accommodate the new crew. This increases the urgency of finding a quick solution to the spacecraft's problems.

      Boeing CE) got a 45% raise while Boeing employees got a 1% raise over eight years. What exactly did the CEO get a 45% raise for and how do they justify his $30+Million compensation?

    • @rjung_ch
      @rjung_ch 29 дней назад

      @@TheCalWillden Like most CEOs, he's overpaid and the employees get nearly nothing. That's capitalism in a nutshell. It's sick, wrong and shows that capital is being misused by those in the top floors of many companies. Shareholders vote on his salary, so if he saves them money to hand out to them, the shareholders will gladly get a short term gain vs a long term win for all. It's the sad truth of how the system is setup to work.
