- The Starliner project has been the most talked-about spacecraft in 2024, not for its success but for its failures. Since the spacecraft docked to the International Space Station, the issues have only gotten worse, prompting NASA and Boeing to work tirelessly to resolve them. Now, NASA has just made a very important announcement that might change everything, and we will talk about it in this video.
Before we delve any deeper, please make sure to subscribe to our channel for future updates.
NASA held a critical virtual meeting on July 10th to deliberate on the future of the Starliner spacecraft, and that was just two days ago. Following a string of setbacks and technical difficulties that have beset the program-including a helium leak and thruster malfunction in June-this meeting was called. As the space agency chooses the best course of action to guarantee the safe return of their astronauts, the stakes are enormous.
There is a lot of curiosity about NASA's recent decision. The space agency has stated that, in the event of a crisis, the Starliner spacecraft will have a fallback plan that involves SpaceX's Dragon capsule. This statement emphasizes how important SpaceX is to NASA's commercial crew program even now.
Despite the difficulties, NASA remains optimistic about the Starliner's potential. Engineers are working around the clock to address over thirty issues with the spacecraft's propulsion system. Most of these problems have been fixed, and the rest ought to be completed soon.
But testing has shown that Starliner's thrusters retain more heat than expected, making it more difficult to replicate flying conditions on the ground. As a result, more testing and modifications are needed to make sure the spacecraft is prepared for its return trip.
NASA and Boeing are concentrating on carrying out additional ground testing at the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico in the near future. Understanding the spacecraft's propulsion system and making sure all problems are fixed before trying the return mission depend on these experiments.
Steve Stitch, the manager of NASA's Commercial Crew program, has stated that he hopes the Starliner would be prepared for its return by the end of July. But, there is not much time left, so the team needs to work quickly to complete this task.
The continuous efforts to resolve the thruster issues and helium leaks were emphasized by Mark Nappi, Vice President and Program Manager for Commercial Crew at Boeing. Engineers are testing flanges and seals in the propulsion system to find the source of the problems.
The Crew-9 mission scheduled for mid-August by SpaceX also has an impact on when Starliner will return. Due to the space station's limited capacity, Starliner must undock in order to accommodate the new crew. This increases the urgency of finding a quick solution to the spacecraft's problems.

I’m getting a little tired of RUclips articles with grandiose titles that then talk about everything but the promised NASA Finally Orders… Shame on you.
Shame, shame, shame!
Exactly!! So how do you block a channel that lies from appearing on your feed?
I agree with you but it is all down to the media whipping up stories
Never another click from me.
I blocked this shit.
Ummm, did I miss something? I missed the part where NASA requested Spacx to go get the the stuck astronauts.....
Do you doubt it is true?
Bill Nelson also order CASA to hand over their moon rock. 😂
There are two ways they would get me back in the capsule. They are kicking and screaming
@@drewpackman2929:
YES
Good point…..
Boeing and SpaceX are not in competition! Boeing is no competition for SpaceX......
Very true! 💜💫💫💫💜
boeing is untrustworthy in general
SpaceX no competition to Soyuz 😂
Reporting for misinformation.
Nasa need more economic specialists - not experts engineers .
THIS is what we need to do to make youtube great again
NASA and Boeing will have to swallow their pride in order for them to ask Space X to rescue them.
SpaceX, like Boeing is a government/NASA contractor. So no...there isn't any pride swallowing with NASA.
Boeing is just looking out for their shareholders.....
Safety is not a priority (unless shareholders profit is a safety issue)
YOUR HEADLINE IS CLICKBATE!!!
You lied to me . . . why did you do that?
So we who are interested get sucked in, they get views and hope stupid people click subscribe.
This is unreal. Boeing should never of been allowed to send their craft.
Do you know how much Boeing spends on political donation and lobbing?
Never HAVE been allowed.
Boeing gone
NASA says there are no plans to send a SpaceX Dragon to rescue two astronauts
Boeing is the failure here, they need to be stripped of all cost plus government contracts, period!
Yes, they gave us a $4 billion space dumpster. Elon delivered with only a $2.3 billion investment with a functional manned flight module.
spot on, all their contracts, especially their military side.
Boeing should be revamped
If it’s Boeing, I’m not going.
I wouldn't ride a bicycle made by Boing, still less an aeroplaneor a space capsule...
Click bate bullshit
After the crap that Boeing's gone thru, the astronauts probably scared to ride that junk back. They are lucky they made it up there is my understanding. If a car breaks pull over. If a plane breaks, you might survive the crash landing, if your space craft breaks ...........????? ..... blood boils and not from heat.
Most of the crap that Boeing has gone thru has been brought on by Boeing and people like the bean counters they use as CEOs while engineers get shoved into broom closets.
It's Boeing! They're already saying that some of the faulty thrusters aren't working but it "should be okay" to return. You getting in that ship?? I guess it'll be alright if you don't sit next to a door...
Good thing they don't REALLY need SpaceX because SpaceX is currently grounded.
Will they have to beg Roscosmos for help since SpaceX and Boeing can't do what they should do?
Yeah gonna have to lift that grounding order if you want your astronauts back ...😢
I haven’t heard anything about SpaceX to the rescue. The main thing is that the crew to come back safely.
Another Boeing issue, this won't stop soon either. They are not the company that they were when the 747 came out.
Boeing CE) got a 45% raise while Boeing employees got a 1% raise over eight years. What exactly did the CEO get a 45% raise for and how do they justify his $30+Million compensation?
@@TheCalWillden Like most CEOs, he's overpaid and the employees get nearly nothing. That's capitalism in a nutshell. It's sick, wrong and shows that capital is being misused by those in the top floors of many companies. Shareholders vote on his salary, so if he saves them money to hand out to them, the shareholders will gladly get a short term gain vs a long term win for all. It's the sad truth of how the system is setup to work.
"Boeing, You Can Find Better But You Won't Pay More".
Leave it up there for future material, already up there
Bah Bah, Bah, No information here, just a history lesson about SpaceX
Isn't Curiosity on Mars.
Too many false statements
There have been no orbits of starship,.
NASA has not announced that Dragon will rescue the star liner crew.
MAKE YOUR POST HONEST!!!
It is interesting that SpaceX had a second stage failure last week after 7 flawless years……..
and have been grounded, so who's going to pick them up now? Roscosmos?
Why? No mechanical device is 100% perfect. The fact that they have gone 7 years without a failure is way more interesting.
i never heard NASA announce this - especially because FAA has stopped Space X falcon 9 from launching until their problem is fixed
Maybe Boeing could sell Starliners to NASA as chicken coops?
Absolutely! I hadn’t even read the previous comment on bogus titles but see someone has beat me to it. Will not tune in here again
What a joke of 24th century America history..did US really landed on the moon 😂
Bring the Astronauts back safe. I believe that Starliner has more system problems than are being admitted to.
Safety first, pride later.
CLICKBAIT++++++
Has anyone got the timestamp for the bit that talks about NASA ordering spaceX to rescue the Astronauts please?
It's at 8:27....
The only fix they can do in space is programming. They cant repair the thrusters in space. Whats will keep keep thrusters from malfunctioning on return causing the capsule to tumble on reentry. I think theres more that can go wrong than right.
I don’t know how dragon can fly to save the astronauts if F9 is grounded due to its last launch that ended with the Merlin engine in second stage experiencing a RUD.
Isn't it a bit ironic that the recent oxygen leak on a Falcon 9 flight has been grounded by the FAA, pending investigation. Falcon 9 may not be available for awhile, I think.
This is the end of NASA they will do everything to bring them back their way. Evan, if that means the life of the astronauts
Expensive but,Starship can bring it down in one piece to study what went wrong.
Not sure how the failed SpaceX starlink mission July 11 is going to factor into this. The Falcon Nine rockets are currently grounded.
@4:52 you show Starship to be 9 meters from flap tip to flap tip, the barrel diameter is 9 meters then the flaps make a lot more......
Sorry, but with all of the issues with boeing lately, would you go into space in something built by them?
What amazes me is that NASA are still sending ships into space when they are not fit for purpose. They lost 3 heroes on Apollo 1 ..... have they learnt anything at all?
So proud of Spacex progress! ♥️🇺🇸👍🚀
NASA advise to allow several Starline to go for Cargo ship first then human flight,
Ummm, Falcon 9 has been grounded for now. Has that changed?
Strange they do this for the Boink, why didn't they do this for the Columbia?
No the problems have not gotten worse.
Honestly, would you want to draw the short straw and ride that star-dumpster home?
I agree, I watched this because of "grandiose titles" myself! Wasting time just to get a buck, Shame from here also.!
and Elon Musk Space Project Falcon -9 and capsul may be more safly. so this time SpaceX will gainuare.
Boeing must be placed in some sort of special administration and all current senior staff stood down while a complete investigation is carried out. All DEI hires company wide must be closely inspected. Were they the best applicant for their job?
A new board must be recruited from technically competent persons and they get to select a new CEO.
All bonuses paid to executives over the last10 years must be clawed back.
Maybe they can use Starliner to vsit the Titanic?
Falcon 9 is grounded, there will be no Dragon launches until the monolithic FAA clear SpaceX
Time to copy the Russians 😂
Is this the first rescue in space?
NASA says it has no plans to use SpaceX to rescue 2 stranded astronauts

You could die of diversity on Starliner.
Time came for scientist to leave NASA and European space agency sure.
“Orders” ? You mean request, by means of contract for good and services.
It's about time. Starliner should return empty or just allow to burn up on reentering. Cancel all contracts with Boeing
They can bring it back on remote. I THINK?
Orders?
Boeing needs to pay for the rescue.. CEO should work for free until the rescue bill is paid.
Where will NASA be without Space X Dragon or Starship? Starliner is an international embarrassment and will never be forgotten. I don't understand why any one still invest in Boeing ?
Steve makes $43 Million a Year
It didnt fail, this is all a cover up as to why the worlds best test pilots are staying in space, along with payloads from every country with a space program
( They have all put up crafts in the last 3-4 weeks,
15 + missions with more launching every week, why? )
I wouldn’t ride a scooter that Boeing designs and builds.
if you don't do fly test before sending people up. that's called cold war.
Steve needs to comb his hair ??
NASA Finally Orders SpaceX Dragon To Rescue Starliner Astronouts! They ordered um huh? More like begged I bet!
With yesterdays failure of a SpaceX Falcon9 upper stage, the dragon capsule might not be available.
Boeing, Boeing, gone!
"Boing Has To Save Itself!!!!!!!'
"Stop It's Crap Internally & Externally!"

NASA is such an embarrassment.
💪
robot talk
such a shame that so many people on here just jump on the trash Boeing bandwagon without doing the research. This is an engineering test flight
BOEING has failed again, while the Engineer/businessman Elon Musk wins again and again advancing space travel at a pace that BOEING can only read about in comic books.
Duh, criminals!
Bad video. Up yours
You are incapable of delivering the content stated in your titles! NOTHING about SpaceX rescue here! Last time I'll watch anything you produce. No like and no subscribe for you!
I'd unsubscribe ... but I wasn't so I can't :(
It could have been worse . They could have had to beg the Russians to save them.
Yes, I’m dumping this channel
astronouts? What is that?
Sigh.....they sent astronauts to the Moon....... or so they say but now they can't get them back from a simple space station........something is just not right, and this video doesn't make it any clearer as to why they have a problem again......I think Housten has closed their problem line call centre due to the volume of help calls.
El titulo del Video no concuerda con el contenido del mismo. Haganle perder el tiempo a otros, yo doy de baja mi suscripcion
Nonsense.
Click baite!! No order!
Boeing fails ?? again??
Not going to finish the vid because you lied
Lol , well duh!!
Boeing Starliner is not an Eagle, it is a Turkey. It is a wreck waiting to happen !! I would cast it loose to join the other spacejunk
Boeing space department is now dead!
SpaceX does not work for NASA/Boeing
"nasa orders"? FFS
Another video designed to bash Boeing and NASA that does not deliver the titled story.
Mr Musk to the
rescue AGAIN
Some asian kid using a AI voice to exploit youtube? These channels are ruining RUclips.
Boeing failed, as usual.
If it's Boeing I'm not going
Tell us something we font know this is bull
So lied to get clicks
I hate a.i. narrators
Another shame post
