I definitely love the 3rd condo. The views are lovely. The maze feel is absolutely what I look for as it gives dimension to the home unlike the regular rectangular and Lshape condos that lack creativity in design.
When I saw this, I was actually excited. I used to live in San Francisco, California (in the USA) and I lived in a two bedroom that was over 4k a month. When I partner and I looked for cheaper apartments, the cheapest one we could find was $3500 for a STUDIO! So I look at this, where every Canadian dollar is 75 cents in the US, and I was floored.
Wait till you look at other cities in Canada where rent is half that of Toronto. My one bedroom condo in central downtown Montreal around 700 sq/ft was $1150.
Well that’s because you’re paying for the weather, the weather is shit in Canada, and California is literally where all the celebrities and people with real money live.

I love the bigger space in Richmond Hill and Markham, however if you work downtown, then get ready to pay $300-400 in public transit and experience 2+ hours of commute to work daily.
Location - convenience to public transit, work, restaurants, shopping and nightlife - has a major impact on rental price. You're right about the wasted space in the $2800 floor plan. We didn't really get a good enough look at the apartments to evaluate them, but two real bedrooms and two bathrooms makes the last unit worth significantly more if the location is similar.
third one was the best one however, given the rental demand of the second one and a pretty decent layout plan, I would say second one is the most sensible option.
I'm pretty sure real estate in Toronto is overpriced by 56%, I still don't understand why people are tryna come to Toronto for these tiny condos🤦♀️. Overall great video👏
People have been calling for a crash in the Toronto real estate market since 2009. What has happened since? Price have doubled. Why? 1) unlike their parents, millenials don't want to live in the suburbs, they want to live downtown. 2) every year between 100,000 and 150,000 people move to Toronto but they are only building about 20,000 housing units. So demand for housing exceeds the supply. So, price will only keep going up and up and up

Suburbs used to be Mississauga, Scarborough, Oakville, Brampton. Now suburbs (at least suburb prices) is like Oshawa, Pickering and Aurora which is just an insane commute.

Richmond Hill is not really Toronto. It's a 30 min drive north if there's no traffic. By transit from downtown...hours.. Prices in central and downtown Toronto are going to be higher, $2,240 for a one bedroom (from Rentals.ca) however prices are falling due to the pandemic. The market has been really tight for decades, a landlords dream, so dropping rents is good news for renters.
Islands look nice and are efficient but people also need to think about the fact that the kitchen is pretty much in the living space. Like my kitchen is separate but because the space is a studio, the smell gets everywhere but it would be worst if everything were together.
In Kitchener downtown area im having 2 bedroom plus den for $1435 and transit railway right across street also few min away is Hospital, google, malls, Waterloo uni, wilfrid laurier uni etc. My apartment I leased they allow to sublet so the 2nd room plus den I rented out. Best part building pet friendly and has little dog park in it

That’s not City of Toronto. It’s near Yonge and 16th ave and Major Mackenzie road in Richmond Hill, ON. A significant distance of driving and considerable amount of discrepancy in rental costs including square footage, locker, underground parking, amenities, and walkscore.
Impossible now in the GTA, even the land in the 905 area near the 416 is expensive. If you want something cheaper near Toronto, probably Pickering or in the Durham Region due to the Nuclear Power Plants. Many of the residential units go for 650k and up.
The only thing I would say if you continue to make videos like this is maybe show the amenities that the condos offer because those are also selling points! Otherwise great video :) alsooooooo show the balconies because those are big selling points as well :)

With rent dropping would be curious to see what these are going for now. The problem with all of these is the location. For that kind of money it really doesn’t make much sense. You would also need a car. For all of that extra expense might as well live downtown and ditch the car.

Hi Beyza, its because of immigrants +Demand and suppy rule. All new immigrants viz students, refugees, etc first come to Toronto and then settle elsewhere since there are huge diaspora of all communities and backgrounds.
The reason behind the fast rising rents are driven by immigration, the diaspora of all ethnicities and now with the tensions in Hong Kong they all affect the whole supply and demand balance. For purchasing, you're largely paying for the land costs. For condos, the price does include your unit's share of the land. For me if I was living by myself and/or with my spouse, I would go for the middle offer. If there's a baby or small child in the mix, it's borderline livable. If the child goes to grade school and/or if there's another life on the way, I would go for the 2 bedroom no question about that.

Generally no on utilities and the condo fees are paid by the unit owner not the tenant. Still, it wouldn’t surprise me if some landlords tack on condo fees to naive tenants.
There is a lot more listing downtown for 2100$ than January , in Winter less listings drive the price up comes april june price come down a bit due to competition

I don't look at condo rentals the same way I do apartment rentals. They are a different entity, usually with less security.

I live in toronto dt, you can most certainly rent a new condo 2000, 2100 dt..Richmond hill is not even Toronto and no one wants to live there..condos go from 1700-2200 anywhere in toronto

Generally no on utilities and the condo fees are paid by the unit owner not the tenant. Still, it wouldn’t surprise me if some landlords tack on condo fees to naive tenants.
