Oh my gosh! I had to purchase this book for nursing school but my clinical instructor told my group to burn it, and that it was only a springboard book. She told us to use google when doing care plans and I have made 20%, 54%, and a 64% and now I have 2 clinical make up days and if I fail these next 2 care plans, I am out of the nursing program! I am passing the rest of the program, I have no problem with anything else, it’s just the care plan. Thank you so much for explaining this I greatly appreciate it

I’m a member of Nursing SOS. I need to write a care plan for a 68 year old female admitted to the hospital for elective surgery/ repair of an abd aortic aneurysm that was uneventful. She developed complications on her 5th day post op as a result of a small bowel obstruction. I have the care plan book, look up ABD Aortic aneurysm and it said go to ABD Surgery. I got to ABD surgery and I’m stuck. It doesn’t give me much to write a care plan with…. Or am I missing something

is this useful for British students?
@oldschoolwaverider, our resources are mainly geared towards nursing students in the United States because that is what we are most familiar with, but we do have many international students who find the resources helpful as well.

The newest edition is the best one!
i am very rusty with my care plans , i used to be very good at them. i've .not worked on a ward for several years and now find my selve working in an establishment for clients with very complex health needs, the book you refer to sounds like it is just the thing i could use. i'm from the UK ,would the book be compatable for use in the UK many thanks.
59BACARDI, we are not familiar with the health system in the UK, but our best advice would be to check with your instructors or other nurses to see if it would be helpful for you! :)

I’m new to writing care plans. I want to purchase the book because I need help writing care plans. When you use the nursing interventions can you copy it straight from the book word for word or are you suppose to paraphrase them?
Jasminda Taylor, for the interventions, I wouldn't copy straight from the book, but put them into your own words. It will still be super helpful!!

Mr Ali 43 years old admitted to the medical word where you are training, and your instructor asked from you to assess and follow up him.
Mr Ali is married has 4 children and work in his own grocery
Upon assessment Mr Ali were complaining from the following health problems
Vomiting , abdominal pain and frequent diarrhoea. Started about 10 hours before coming to hospital
He has temperature 38.8℃ ,sweating B/P 145/95mmhg , he said that he is very tired and feels dizzy , and reported that he has allergy to acamol.
He said that he is hypertensive and on Norvasc 10 mg daily, his Skin and mouth are dry ,seems not bathed and has smell
Iv G/S 500ml iv to be started
Lab tests CBC, Electrolytes and ECG to be done
Please explain fo me .. how can I write 2 or more actual nursig diagnosis threw part statement???

I have a question , when you are evaluating your care plan based on the clinical experience, do your evaluations have to be what actually happened? Or can you just predict evaluations for the goals for example.
