  • The ea211 1.4 TSI Volkswagen Jetta / Golf TSI has a tiny motor with a big heart. This little VW 1.4L beats the Honda Civic 2.0L and 1.5T and the Honda CRV ! More TORQUE and more horsepower per liter. Less displacement more kick. Best daily driver with an actual gearbox and push start. The auto trans beats the Honda CVT . The 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4L Turbo (TSI) is a beast our town / city .
    Best gas mileage out of a Volkswagen EVER .... ( Wellll.... after the TDI VW Jetta / GOLF )
    I forgot to mention.... THIS Volkswagen is a TORQUE MASTER

    yea the car is actually insane, i mean the engine is decently reliable if you take care of it just replace the timing belt at like 150k miles and your set thats literally the only major maintenance, to me the best part is the 8speed automatic its literally a toyota transmission for cars like the rav4 and camry, yet its offered in this vw jetta, the value is out of the roof, and looks are subjective of course but, you black out the vw logo and put on black wheels and your car looks like a 40k audi

    Even though I have an EA211 1.4T as my daily driver too, you can't say this car crushes the competition until you look at the dyno charts. Where and how much are key attributes to a good engine, you can't take max figures without reference to where in the rev range those values are obtained.

      good point. I mean we make more hp with a smaller motor which is huge and we make torque before anyone else with a smaller motor n turbo which is also a win. doing more with less is all i meant

    Please have a Look at the Turbo. Here in Europe we have one from MHI. Mitsubishi heavy Industries. Maybe the reason why all the turbo issues are gone ✌️ you are right with the engine. No chain.. No problems. Just change the oil all 15000km to keep the pistonrings clean. Oil only with vw 50400 is mandatory. I recommend Mobil 1. German engine with american oil. Best of both worlds 😍 Kind regards from germany

    This past July 9(2021) I bought a MK7 Jetta R Line 6 speed. Since buying I added a Unitronic Stage 1+, Neuspeed Rear Torsion bar,
    Euro Sport Front Upper Stress Bar, H&R Sport Lowering Springs, AFE CAI W/PRO DRY S FILTER, ECS Rear Muffler Delete, B2BFAB Jetta 2019+ Flush wheel spacer kit w/hardware and Vredestein Hypertrac All Season 225/50R17 tires. All the while, I've been getting high 40's to low 50's MPG on the highway and about 40, just driving around. Great car. I had a 2 door 16 GTI, tuned and very well sorted suspension, built for road course track days, but spinal surgery kind of ended it for me. I still wanted something fun to drive and the R line was it. The only thing I didn't want was the sunroof, but these manual cars are hard to find.

    • @MK6CHRIS
      @MK6CHRIS  2 года назад +1

      Hey, those are some tasteful mods. Spacers, not a fan but everything else is good. Volkswagen does a good job with the manual cars in stock form. I always wanted a 2dr MT GTI. If I am lucky, I'll get one of those and go full send with it. These 1.4 motors get great gas mpg if you stay on low boost. Enjoy it my friend and rest that spine!!

    Hey chris I was wondering if you could do a video on some of the important parts of a car that should be replaced/upgraded when adding mods. I’m a beginner for all this car mod stuff and I keep reading about intakes, downpipes, tunes, etc, but it’s hard to find information about what parts should also be replaced when going for performance. For example I keep hearing about the clutch having to be replaced after going stage 2 and also other stuff to do with the wheels/suspension such as new nuts and so on.

      @@MK6CHRIS Burger Motorsports blew a few turbos while developing/testing the JB4. This is the reason they disabled a few maps. The weak point on these cars in terms of power is the turbo itself. Hoping for aftermarket turbo upgrades to pop up with more information. Forged rods and pistons are also possible on the MK7 from what I have heard.

      @@canwefixit8129 read again, it says 277wtq no whp. yeah there’s no turbo muffler on this car. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Tuning to accommodate for better parts and fuel will yield you those results . Let me inform you on my mods since you don’t know. I have an intake , turbo inlet , 3in downpipe, 2.5 proper exhaust, E30 fuel, light weight wheels , and rotors.
      I do have to say , an intake alone won’t give you 20hp, so your right about that . A tune to accommodate an intake wont net you 20hp either , but 1-15 yes. There’s plenty of dynos to prove that.

    • @canwefixit8129
      @canwefixit8129 3 года назад

      @@MK6CHRIS my bad, you are the first person I have ever seen say wtq. Why? Because people just say torque. There is no such thing as torque at the wheels or torque at the crank. Torque is torque (a mathematical equation). Unlike HP which is actually a measurement of power under a load. If a car produces 200 hp at the wheels measured by a dyno, it’s not calculating torque the same way. It’s simply a programmed calculator that takes 200, multiples it by max rpm then divides it by 5252. Bottom line I have a 2021 Jetta, some external bolt ons and a tune is not netting a 30% power gain.
      A stock exhaust and intake is not very restrictive when it comes to a gutless 4 cylinder engine. A tune might free up something but not that. It’s not like chopping the cats and muffler off of a gt mustang that actually frees up some restriction. A 2.5 inch exhaust is a joke. At 1.4Ls that’s wasted pipe

    • @MK6CHRIS
      @MK6CHRIS  3 года назад

      @@canwefixit8129 I’m not informed on how horsepower or torque is measured but if the dyno says wheel torque I type on my phone wtq because it’s easier . Let’s not forget, torque and hp go together so disregarding it is missing the point. The dyno says 257torque at the crank , another one says 277torque at the wheels. 2 different dynos , 2 different results. Turbo cars are different. You can’t compare a NA GT . They make power differently . You ever see a hybrid turbo 1.8/2.0 with a 4inch downpipe? Do you know what that does? More boost because it can actually flow it. Same concept here with my 2.5 cat back. It’s a performance exhaust for a reason. Now, you can’t sit here and disregard what I’ve seen, especially when you haven’t done it. Some cars and ecus make more power, some make less. That has been documented since the car dyno was a thing . I take offense when you think I’m spewing nonsense , because I am here to share my experiences and help others. Now I make mistakes. But I didn’t stutter. My car makes those number , or close too it. You can’t compare data from one mod adding this much, it’s about the combination of them all working together . After all, that’s what a car is . Parts working together to flow.
      The dyno says I netted 30% more power.
      Do me a favor, call me out when I’m actually wrong instead of offending me with no basis. No information to back up anything. Do me another favor , Enjoy your car, you got a good one.
