Jesus - The Copy-Pasted Prophet from Christianity

  • Jesus in Islam seems to be a character that doesn't fit in. He has a virgin birth yet God is not his father. The idea of the virgin birth was copied from Christianity whereas it wasn't in the oldest gospel. He has miracles speaking as a baby and making clay birds to life that seem to be directly taken from the infancy gospel of Thomas which is considered an unreliable story. The Quran claims there is 1 injeel or gospel but this doesn't match what we know about Christianity.

so you are saying that the quran
copied alot of things from the Bible.
that is what I think aswell, it makes sense
because the Bible and Jesus are alot older
than the Quran. also the Bible does not
even mention the quran, not once.

Christopher Hitchens (an avowed atheist) studied the origins of Islam, and came to the conclusion that Islam was built on plagiarism. Professor Tom Holland, did the same exercise, using academic and archaeological methods, and he came to the same conclusion. ruclips.net/video/k73hTSeerbI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/v0Q6DtfUynQP/видео.htmlrofessor Tom Holland searched for evidence that Islam started near Mecca and Media - and instead he found evidence that it commenced in Petra, Jordan.

I am not saying Jesus is false but people dying for their belief cannot be a good yardstick to measure what is truth. Many suicide bombers today willingly die for a cause they believe in but without direct knowledge or experience. They were many cults with mass suicide without been forced too. In those days, Jesus disciples could had been hunted down and eliminated without choice and followers painted a different picture...we simply don't know. What is clear is that people dying for their own belief is happening everyday. What they are willing to do with their beliefs and whether that belief is true or not is two different matters.

the virgin birth was a prophecy before the Gosples. the Gospels are written accounts of what Jesus taught the apostles. each apostles wrote what they learned and what was most important to teach people. The Gospels were written down after ressurection, some were written closer to the time, within 2 yrs, others much later. just because a gospels was dated 70yrs later, it doesn't mean they waiting 70 yrs to write the Gospels, they could have written them much sooner but we haven't recovered earlier text yet. saying that earlier Christains spread the word verbally, that was most important at that time. their mission was to spread the gospel according to what Jesus told them. they wrote down what the holy spirit guided them to write. John said if he were to write all that Jesus taught them and did, he would fill the earth with paper, but he wrote what be did so that we might believe in Jesus as he believes because of what he witnessed in Jesus presence. There are independent, non biblical accounts of Jesus existence. written by historians in Jesus time, one Jewish the other Roman. We can be sure of Jesus' existence.

Muhammed rejected the Trinity by appealing to the mathematical equation: (1 + 1 + 1 = 3). Using the Laws that govern the Science of Mathematics, let us put Muhammad’s calculation to the test.
First, we must consider the Biblical claim of the Holy Trinity which is (Father + Son + Holy Spirit = 1 God).
According to the Science of Mathematics, if we say the number “1” in the equation (1 + 1 + 1 = 3) represents the “Father”, then everywhere the number “1” appears within the equation is where we must put the “Father”. That means the equation (1 + 1 + 1 = 3) must read (Father + Father + Father = 3 Fathers). But the Holy Trinity is not (Father + Father + Father = 3 Fathers). The Holy Trinity is (Father + Son + Holy Spirit = 1 God).
Still confused? Let us try it one more time, but this time using the number “1” to represent the Son. According to the Science of Mathematics, if we say the number “1” in the equation (1 + 1 + 1 = 3) represents the “Son”, then everywhere the number “1” appears within the equation is where we must put the “Son”. That means the equation (1 + 1 + 1 = 3) must read (Son + Son + Son = 3 sons). But the Holy Trinity is not (Son + Son + Son = 3 sons), but rather (Father + Son + Holy Spirit = 1 God).
Muhammed did not only misunderstand the Science of Mathematics, he also misunderstood the Science of Natural Laws, which states, “Whatever is ‘one’ is a unity of many different natures or components (things).” Examples: The water molecule is one. It is a unity of two different natures: (1) Hydrogen and (2) Oxygen or (H2O). Man, in his “oneness”, is a unity of three different natures: (1) body, (2) spirit, and (3) soul. Time is one. Its unity consists of three different natures: (1) Past, (2) Present, and (3) Future.
In fact, the “past” is Time, the “present” is Time, and the “future” is Time. But there is only one “Time” from eternity past to eternity future. This means in one sense “Time” is one and only one; but in another sense, “Time” is three with no contradiction between “one” and “three”.
To say, “God is one in three Persons: (1) Father, (2) Son, and (3) Spirit is like saying, “Time is one in three periods: (1) past, (2) present, and (3) future. It is like saying, “Space is one in three dimensions or (3Ds): (1) height, (2) width, and (3) depth. It is also like saying, “The universe is one in three natures: (1) Time, (2) Space, and (3) Phenomenon - everything we can see, hear, feel, smell, and taste.”
Message of the Bible is acceptably simple: God is one. Within His “Oneness” are three Natures: (1) Father, (2) Word of God, and (3) Spirit of God. In His infinite wisdom and powers, God took one of His three Natures called “Word of God” or “Word”, and placed Him inside the Womb of the Virgin Mary. Nine months later, a Child is born. The Child, naturally, is both the “Son of God” and the “Son of Man.
The Apostle John, in two verses, explains it this way: John 1:1 reads, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” and in John 1:14 the Apostle added this: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and full of truth.” In other words, Jesus is one of God’s Natures who is covered in human skin. That is what the Prophet Isaiah meant when he said the Child will be the Father of Himself. Isaiah 6:9 reads, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Question: How did the Child become the Father of Himself? Answer: When the Might God, who Himself is the Everlasting Father, took one of His Natures and clothed Him in human skin - the Child became the Father of Himself - the God/Man. That is why Jesus could say, “The Father is in me, and I am in the Father”. - John 10:38. “If you really know me, you will know my Father.” - John 14:7. “I and my Father are one.” - John 10:30.
By way of His human nature, Jesus also expressed weakness when He said, “My Father is greater than I.” - John 14:28. But nonetheless; Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I AM’.” - John 8:58. John, the Baptist, who was born before Jesus said this of Jesus: “He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for He existed long before me.’” - John 1:30.
Deuteronomy 6:4 reads, “Hear O Israel, the LORD, our God is one LORD.” This is like saying, “Hear O American people, the government, our United States Government is one government.” But the United States Government is a trinity; because within the “oneness” of the United States Government are three different natures: (1) Executive Branch of Government, (2) Legislature Branch of Government, and (3) Judicial Branch of Government.
God, in Judaism and Christianity, will never make sense to you if you refuse to accept God’s Natural Laws: “Whatever is one is a unity of many different natures.” Muhammed missed it.
    God is one.

Christians did not invent Christianity or Christ. Christ represent the reality that there is a God , who revealed himself to humanity in human form, to liberate them from all fairy tales, and religions. To give life and life abundant, and if his teachings, his death for redemption, and resurrection to show that he has power above death and secure eternal life to those who believe in him and his work and follow after him, then there is no God.

The Prophecy about Jesus I think you got it wrong.
    Read this verses:
Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.
~Isaiah 53 (by reading this verse even a child will know that it is not talking about Israel)
prophet Isaiah about 800 years before the birth of Jesus.
    But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
    from ancient times.”
Micah 5:2 (Jesus birth place prophesied by Prophet Micah about 700 years before Christ)
    Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
    Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
    righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey
Zechariah 9:9 (prophesy by Prophet Zechariah about the Triumphant entry into Jerusalem about 500 years before Jesus)
In my vision at night I looked,
and there before me was one like a son of man,
coming with the clouds of heaven.
He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away,
and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13-14 (Prophesy by Prophet Daniel about 600 years before Jesus)
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him IMMANUEL
    ~Isaiah 7:14

I think he makes a very good point here. Throughout the Quran, it says that Gospels were revealed to Jesus when they were actually biographies of Jesus written by some unknown authors some 40-50 years after his death. Christians have never believed that the Gospels were revealed to Jesus by God. Seems like Muhammad and his followers made a very big mistake here coz they thought that Gospels were texts revealed to Jesus.

He dentifed himself with the least and the downtrodden in humanity. He taught all people that God is Love and he was a king who conquered death, rose from the grave, is seated at the right hand of his father in heaven, and offers the free gift of eternal life to those who believe in him.

The story of virgin birth is not of paramount importance in Christianity, that's why it's not mentioned in the Gospels of Mark and John.
BTW, The gospels are only 25-50 years after the facts not 70.

    • @MrWaterlionmonkey
      @MrWaterlionmonkey 7 лет назад +1

They are at least 25-50 after the fact, they only know this through textual examination of the gospels, not through archaeology. It could be later.

    • @thomasanderson1416
      @thomasanderson1416 7 лет назад +2

Boaz Awunde Dicks Actually the later dates are put only through the 70 CE temple destruction theory.
They could be much early than that.

    • @MrWaterlionmonkey
      @MrWaterlionmonkey 7 лет назад +1

Jonney Shih Thats if we think Mark merely predicted the temple being destroyed and not that he lived in a period where it was destroyed and he had Jesus predict it.

    • @thomasanderson1416
      @thomasanderson1416 7 лет назад +2

Boaz Awunde Dicks Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple, so the date depends I guess on if you believe Jesus truly is who he says he is.
Other than that the textual evidence, external evidence and paleography favor an early date for the composition of the Gospels.

4 gospels have their own purposes.
Matthew, the kingdom gospel with a genealogy of the King, Jesus, from Abraham to Jospeh. Its main purpose to prove Christ is rightful King. Its focus is on the kingdom
Gospel of Mark shows that Jesus is a slave savior. Its focus is on the slave's services not on his beginning or history. Thus there is no genealogy in Mark.
Gospel of Luke shows that Jesus Christ is a Man Savior. This genealogy through Mary , Nathan, David and all the way back to Adam proves that Jesus is indeed a Man.
The gospel of John is a gospel of life. It proves that Jesus Christ is God the Savior coming as life to propagate Himself.
There is no genealogy in here because God has no beginning and end.
The virgin birth was prophecied on gen 3:15 and isa 7:14.
His life is vividly portrayed and prophecied through the OT. Isa 53 shows His life on earth and the result of the death on the cross, the increase, The Church. Psalm 22 shows His crucifixion. Isa 9:6 shows that a son , a child will be called mighty God and the eternal Father.
The types and figures and events all show who christ is. The passover is Christ. All the offerrings are type of Christ. Sabbath is a type of Christ.
you cant really make this stuff up. The bible is divinely inspired and preserved well. and there is no need for it to borrow an idea from anywhere.

Just a correction, Isis never gave birth to Horus being a virgin. After Osiris (her husband) died she resurrected his dead body which was cut up into many pieces and had sex with him in order to conceive Horus. Many have said there are parallels between other religions and Jesus but there isn't. Steven Bancarz made a great video debunking with scholarly resources.

I'm Catholic and there is no way to compare Islam to Christianity . Christians are free , God gave us FREE WILL ,and this is what christianity /catholicism is all about .Jesus said in New Testament : "I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father....." (John 15:15-17) Islam, on the other hand, is a religion of submission , muslims are SLAVES of Alah . Christians have Free Will . This is the difference.

Dear Abdullah, it's great to see you free from Islam but you're only half way there. I was wondering why you are using Islam to attack Christianity now that you left that religion: it seems to me you're using the same apologetic Muslims use. Wasn't it wrong? I realize it's a process, you probably have to de-program from old teachings. Yet. I hear some confusion on your side. I'd be happy to help. For instance, on the top of your head, do you know what the doctrine of the Virgin Mary is? Tell me something about the Immaculate Conception, or do you know what a manuscript is rather than a fragment? Or what is the Transfiguration? What happened in the Getsemani garden? Be truthful before looking it up in the Internet. Once you have a fair idea in your mind, go and find the answers in google. You'll soon realize that you have limitations. I've got limitations, I've been studying for years and still learning but your assumptions are a bit out. Nothing you said in this video about Christianity is accurate. I agree with you on the Apocryphal Gospels, by the way are they? As far as you know are they apocryphal or pseudo-pigraphal? And as far as Isis and Osiris is concerned you picked one of the few authors on the matter out there who claimed that Mary did not even exist. The majority of archeologists and Museums around the globe agree that Isis was not a virgin when she gave birth. She had sexual intercorse with Osiris. The Virgin part relates to something else. The theories span from it being the river Nile and the fact that the Sun-moon worshipping was linked to the Virgo constellation. Isis and Osiris are not real, they are mythology. Then you said that the earlier Gospels did not have the Virgin Birth? Are you referring to Mary being a virgin or the Immaculate Conception? By the way, which earlier manuscripts? The ones we don't have? Uh? In the earlier manuscripts (60-70 years after the events) Mary was a virgin. Manuscripts does not mean originals. Abdullah, I believe that God loves you, he's helping you, but you must start believing people like me and trust in what we've got to say. And stop believing in all conspiracies, it's a big problem especially for Muslims. Read the New Testament for yourself, don't try to interpret it, just believe in the literary sense of what it's saying: it's the Word of God, it's not an Hadith. It's God's breath, inspired. Do you know what it means in the Christian's sense? Good luck in your researches and many blessings.

3:30 Mark doesn't have any childhood narrative at all (just as John doesn't). One Luke and Matthew do and their stories are irreconcilably different and contain countless clearly legendary elements, so the whole thing is a later addition. BTW, it is as certain as anything that the historical Jesus existed, and most likely he was an itinerant apocalyptic preacher. Carrier makes some interesting points, but his conclusion doesn't make a lot of sense.

Isis was NOT a virgin when she conceived Horus. She used her powers to create a phallus, had sex with the phallus and conceived Horus. Why at no time in that era when the Egyptians were still worshiping the old ways, did not any of them equate Jesus as Horus?
    Why didn't the Romans?
    Why didn't the Greeks?
    Why didn't the Persians?
In fact, people in antiquity who knew Christianity as a different religion, why did not one single one of them say "oh, that Jesus story is borrowed from us and he is really Horus, Apollo, Mithras......etc?
Christianity since the first century was a Jewish sect, so therefore because it was Jewish, the Jews would have never just claimed any man could be God unless that man were the Messiah. And that is exactly why they turned Jesus over to the Romans, because they had no other charge against Him except that He claimed to be the Messiah and God. Why else would they use the blasphemy charge to stone Him? The Jews took that seriously, they weren't just finding any little fault with Him.
Why at no time in all the persecutions of Christians in the first century did any Roman emperor just say they were a minor cult within the Roman belief system? Because they weren't. The Romans didn't persecute Mithras followers, so why the Christians?
Because Christianity was never a Roman religion, neither Greek, Persian or Egyptian. To deny Christianity since the first century, is to deny the persecutions and holocaust and genocide against Christians.

To be precise, it’s not four Gospels. It’s four accounts of the same gospel. And the “gospel“ was prophesied in Isaiah 40, proclaiming the future salvation and restoration of God’s people. Centuries later, Jesus arrived on the scene preaching that the time had come, announcing the gospel, that is, announcing the good news that God has finally returned to his people and has come to save them.

  • @faith4today

The virgin birth of Jesus was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14, approximately seven centuries before He came. It's not important the order of the Gospels since each Gospel gives us some separate and unique things about the life of Jesus, while collaborating who He was and things He said and taught. Yes, you are right, the prophecy of the Messiah that you provided didn't fit the idea of the Jewish leaders, but what they didn't realize was that the prophecy of a suffering Messiah was also predicted in the Old Testament, in Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22 very clearly. What the Jewish leaders failed to realize is that the prophecies were predicting two separate comings of Jesus, as a suffering Messiah (the Lamb of God) and a conquering Messiah (the Lion of Judah), which you will see more clearly in the book of Revelation, especially chapters 1 and 19. Jesus had to be born of a virgin in order to be born without sin so He could be the spotless Lamb of God in order to take away the sins of the world for those who would receive Him. I do find it interesting that the Qur'an does say He was born of a virgin, but Muhammad truly did not understand why.

Actually Abdullah, you do not do this piece justice from the historicity and factual analysis of Jesus as a person or the manuscript history of the Judeo-Christian scriptures and it's faith foundations.
Firstly anybody who claims doubts of the person called Jesus the Messiah actually existed falls on the fringe of historians and of theologians including the most hostile of opponents of Christianity and of the person of Jesus Christ. Your idea of the Messiah (literally the Anointed One) is quite incomplete because the conflict and controversy in the Tanakh particularly pertaining the prophecy of messiah as the suffering servant in Isaiah 53 is not even addressed.
As far as the "Gospel" is concerned, your analysis betrays the Islamic biase in fixing on a particular set of revelations. Firstly the 4 Gospels (which by the way, 2 are attributed to the eyewitness accounts of Matthew and John, disciples of Jesus Christ) while Mark is a documentation of the accounts of Jesus Christ by a disciple of another eyewitness disciple of Jesus Christ, Peter son of John, regarded by Roman Orthodoxy as the first "Pope" and finally Luke which is regarded the most historically accurate gospel is the work of Luke who interviewed eye witnesses to the life of Jesus Christ) The 4 Gospels are the biography of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ by these 4 men. it is the good news (or gospel) that Jesus Christ came to the earth and fulfilled the first installment of the eternal plan of God for the salvation of any who would believe, as divinely revealed in the Tanakh. that is the basic key to differentiate the understanding of the Gospel from the Judeo-Christian and the flaw in Muhammad's (or one of his 4 successors') perspective of the Injil. As far as the concept of the inspired word of God, all of the Old Testament aka the Tanakh and the New Testament are the inspired word and not a direct dictation of some imaginary tablets in heaven.
the closest you can come to in understanding the Bible is this
    a) the 4 Gospels are effectively the Hadith and Sira of Jesus Christ,
    b) the Acts of the Apostles is the Tawrikh or history of the early Church
    c) the epistles of Paul, Peter, John, James, Jude and the author of the Hebrews are the Tafsirs or exegesis.
and finally, Jesus is the Word that was I the Beginning with God and is God, Through Him all things were made and nothing was made without the Word. the Quran also names Is as Kalimatullah... the Quran uses titles without understanding including Al- Masih and Muslim scholars lack the deep understanding of the significance of Judeo-Christian titles and labels such as the "the Son of Man" and why its blasphemy to call oneself by that title...
so Abdullah Sameer, good effort but you could have done so much better...

Assuming Jesus did say that he was ‘son’ of God. What did it mean? We first need to know the language of his people, the language of the Jews to whom he was speaking.
The Bible says God had many ‘sons’
First, most people think there are no other verses that contradict or give equal divine sonship to other persons in the Old or New Testament.
For Jesus to be called son of God, does not make him a true son of God, other wise Adam, Jacob, Ephraim and many more should also be considered as been sons of God as such they should be worshiped too according to such method.
Adam: ‘Adam, which was the son of God.’ (Luke 3:38)
Jacob is God’s son and firstborn: ‘Israel is my son, even my firstborn.’ (Exodus 4:22)
Solomon: ‘I will be his father, and he shall be my son.’ (2 Samuel 7:13-14)
Ephraim: ‘for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.’ (Jeremiah 31:9)
Is God’s firstborn, common people are called the sons of God: ‘Ye are the children of the Lord your God’ (Deuteronomy 14:1)

If you take Jesus as the Sun, you can mystically refer to his death and rebirth, but perhaps you can call the birth of a star, a virgin birth..? For instance, Ezekiel's four faced Angel is a respresentation of the four cardinal points of the Zodiac. Also, if you make Jesus the Sun, you can make sense of how "he" turned water into wine. There are more examples of these for many stories in the bible and I imagine the Koran, too. 7 pillars, 7 seals, 7 days, 7 heavens and much much more, 12 of many things, too.

Hey, really enjoyed your video exposing the counterfit version of Jesus within the quran. I'd just like to offer a few points concerning Jesus the Messiah in light of this video:
    1) It was really cool that you cited Maimonides "Mishneh Torah." I found it quite interesting how, within it, the Jews of today still have hints as to what the Messiah would do. But it's important that you realize that the current form of Judaism (called Rabbinic Judaism) is not quite the same as the forms of Judaism common in the first century AD. Within the more ancient Second Temple Judaism, even Pharisaic Judaism (which was like the proto-type of Rabbinic Judaism) differed in that it was oriented towards Temple-based Liturgical celebration, but was similar in that it derived from nearly every passage of the Torah all sorts of extra customs and pious devotions that it argued should also be kept by the people in addition to the basic Mosaic Covenant. In fact, this was not the only form of Judaism at the time, being rivaled by the extremely popular Judaism of the Essenes (among others), which was not against the Temple but for a greater one (a counter-Temple movement), mystical, monastic, and oriented towards the Messiah and a New Covenant. If you were to study the Second Temple hopes of what the Messiah would do (as discovered through the apocalyptic writings that built off of the canonical biblical writing prophets...there was no official canon at that time), you'd be able to propose the following changes and additions to Maimonides' conclusions: 1) The Messiah will come through the family line of David (fulfilled by Jesus); 2) would be greater than David and Solomon (who, themselves, fulfilled Deuteronomy in order to bring rest from enemies in the land and the plan to build the Temple where God would dwell) by eschatologically waging war not on earthly enemies and empires but upon the ultimate enemies (satan, the fallen angels, the demons, sin, death, and disease...the entire Adamic fallen condition), and build not yet another earthly copy of the Heavenly Temple (Exodus 25:9) but, instead, build and enter the true Heavenly Temple (His Resurrected Body in the Holy Spirit); 3) He will impel not only the Jewish people but also the entire world, even the gentiles, to follow not the Old Law (Torah) but give them the New One (Himself in the Spirit) within a New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34) that doesn't need the later Rabbinic "Oral Law" (without Jesus, most of the world would not have even known or cared about the Torah, so He clearly fulfilled this); 4) There was the popular idea of two or even three Messiahs (one warrior, one priestly, one royal). The war Messiah was to fight against the enemy but die. Again, Jesus fights against the ultimate enemies of satan and his satanic kingdom, and, interestingly, Jesus dies, rises to be heavenly High Priest, and is royal); 5) He will miraculously regather the lost 10 Tribes of Israel (who were already intermingled with the gentile nations so as to lose their covenant and biological identity 700 years before Jesus, and so become totally gentile) and bring them back together with the Jews, Benjamites, and Levites to make up an authentically reconstituted "Israel" (this is fulfilled in Christ too...many Jews and gentiles from all over those territories became part of the "New Israel"); 6) would bring the gentiles (the whole world) into complete covenant oneness with the Jews, no longer in a secondary Solomonic way (Galatians 3:28) (Jesus clearly did this or else the Old Testament would remain only the unknown peculiar Books of a small people); 7) most importantly, the Messiah would be a Bridegroom who marries his people (kind of like God, hint hint) and brings about the eschatological Wedding Feast on Passover (this is what the Christian Eucharistic Liturgy is all about); 8) cause all sacrifice to cease accept the Todah Faith Offering of Bread and Wine; 9) perpetuate only the Feast of Passover (all the other important Feasts such as Tabernacles would cease); 10) reign not merely for 40-ish years (like Solomon) but eschatologically forever (in accordance to 2 Samuel 7). Clearly Jesus has done all of this, but most modern people simply don't know these things, and forget how this was already all fulfilled. Furthermore, the idea of the Messiah bringing "world peace" is a blatant misinterpretation of Isaiah. It's just not there. It should also be noted that "Peace" is a first and foremost Liturgical and Covenantal Unity with God and His Representatives (Communion) through sacrifice. Finally, the argument that passages like Isaiah 53 refer collectively to the Jewish people in general is a joke because Jews were not priests (Levites were), and the Person described in these passages is described in Priestly terms. Interestingly, so were David and Solomon who were proto-Messiahs.
Sadly, you'd have to hit a theological university's library and research a lot to see what I'm talking about, but here's one free resource available online: aldalil-walborhan.net/english/books/the_lord/the_lord_of_history1.htm (scroll down and check out Section 2, Chapter 5: the Banquet of the Poor). Though this chapter deals primarily with the way the ancient pre-Christian Jews and early Christians read Scripture (a hermeneutic called "typology"), it offers much explanation of the Second Temple Messianic hopes around within the first century AD. For more on typology, check this out: stpaulcenter.com/documents/scripture/LSJ1%20Hahn.pdf
Now concerning Mark being the first gospel, this is certainly debatable. While most modern scholarship considers this to be a fact, when you actually dig into the material it is only a hypothesis (it's short and more straightforward...it must be the most ancient...that's a faulty methodological assumption). Ancient Christian Fathers, some of whom were the disciples of the Twelve Apostles (and you can actually read their writings online!!!), all considered Matthew to be the first written Gospel. It is pretty hard to believe that the earliest Gospel was written for the gentiles when the Church, for the first 10 or more years, preached only to the Jews and Samaritans. Furthermore, the idea that the Gospels were written after 70AD is a methodological bias: much modern scholarship is more invested in enlightenment philosophy than sincere Christian theology. Because they don't believe that miracles or prophecy (since Jesus prophesied the destruction of the Second Temple) are actually possible, they hypothetically posit that the Gospels were written after 70AD (when the Temple was destroyed). This is true only for the Book of Revelation, which is all about the destruction of that Temple, but none of the other New Testament Books, including all of the Gospels, even mention it. They take the Temple's existence for granted, and, owing to the profound importance of the Temple being viewed as "the center of the universe" (though also a copy) it is unthinkable that they would not have made a big deal explaining this calamity, let alone not even mention it. Also, Mark is clearly written for gentile audiences since it takes great pains to add interpolative explanations of Aramaic words, and even explanations for ordinary first century Jewish things. It would have certainly explained how the Temple was actually already destroyed.
Now, concerning whether Christianity borrowed from pagan mythology, I'm not gonna write a whole lot since I've already taken up too much time here. All I'll say is that when one really studies whether that's true, they'll find that ridiculous since these myths are not even remotely close to the virgin birth of Jesus. The virgin birth of Christ, in fact, is already hinted at all the way back in Genesis 3:15 (the Woman to come, who would have seed, implied to possess it without the necessity of a man...the rabbis already puzzled over this Text before Jesus, as did Isaiah 7:14 with the "sign as high as heaven and as deep as sheol," which wasn't obviously fulfilled in Hezekiah). Interestingly, if the idea of the virgin birth was so similar to paganism, you'd think that Mark would have employed it since he wrote for gentile audiences. Instead, it was written for Jewish audiences (who hated anything close to pagan ideas) within the very Jewish Gospels of Matthew and Luke! The following article is a good introduction to the topic and shows how the virgin birth of Jesus is actually very different from the supposed virgin births found within mythology:
    www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/was-the-virgin-birth-of-jesus-grounded-in-paganism

Love this guy. I am a fan and a subscriber. I wish him well.
That having been said, somewhat disappointed in the video. I wish that he would have developed the “ cut and paste” theme a little bit more.
I am a Christian who has not only read the entire Hebrew Bible and the New Testament (that is rare enough) but I have also read the Quaran from Surah 1 to Surah 114)- which makes me a rare bird, indeed.
My fondest hope is that believing Muslims would return the favor and actually read the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospels- which
the Quaran categorically and expressly affirms as genuine revelation from God.
But alas, the everyday Muslim does not read these books- and it saddens me. There is much good here that would be of true value to the believing Muslim.
I was hoping that Abdullah would encourage believing Muslims to read the Gospels in order to have a fuller and deeper understanding of the life and TEACHINGS of Jesus. After all, everyday Muslims revere Jesus not only as a prophet, a miracle worker and yes, “messiah”-yet they do NOT read about him in the gospels, and consequently, they know almost nothing about his teachings. This is a lamentable fact even though the Quaran uniquely honors Jesus with descriptions of “word of God ” and “Spirit of God.”
Rather, the everyday Muslim, in my opinion, has a very limited, “card board copy” knowledge of Jesus- devoid of a deep or full understanding of his teachings.
Oh, the wonderful teachings of Jesus that await you- that would help immeasurably in reading and interpreting the Quaran.
You would learn these timeless lessons:
    - to be great is to serve others
    - that Righteousness, , although it is essential and has its place, will lead inescably, to the sin of Self-righteousness - which can only be overcome by humility and self-examination and a heart for God.
    - that God loves mercy more than sacrifice (or rules following)
    - that one cannot follow the “rules” and neglect the love of God and the justice of God
    - that for each event their is a season under heaven (a time forWar/Peace and a time for Empire and a time to refrain from building an Empire
    - that true tolerance of every human being- regardless of religious error, regardless of status and regardless of sin, is to be tolerated and loved.
    - that one cannot harness the power of the coercive State to enforce religious rules (the only thing one can do in that instance is to “shake the dust from your feet”)
    - that he who lives by the sword, will die by the sword (that violence and empire in the path of God- if not abrogated is at best timely and NOT timeless.)
    - that you need a heart for the truth, if you are ever to know it
Lastly a specific recommendation- especially for my American Muslim brothers and sisters.
Please consider reading “The Jefferson Bible”. It is short; no resurrection story; and Jefferson, like the orthodox Muslim, did NOT believe that Jesus was divine or that he even claimed to be.
Interested ? I hope so- because you would then learn how Jesus’s teachings are the spirit and word of God.
Don’t be afraid. God does not give us the spirit of fear.
    Peace

The virgin birth only makes sense within Christianity if you assume a literal notion of God's fatherhood of Jesus. But orthodox Christians reject such a literal notion. So there is really no advantage for the Christian there.

All of these points you made are addressed by the gospels. The way in which the prophecies are fulfilled are not the ways a human would of anticipated. This is why sometimes we call it the upside down kingdom. For the root of the issue was not what oppresses Israel but what oppresses their hearts to follow God, and that is what Jesus came to abolish. That is why we now have gentials and Jews praising YHWH.

Also the prophet David(Dawoud) in the Pslams(Zabo or Zabu) 22, David Prophesies Jesus's last words on the Cross and other events leading to the Cross, from verse and the rest, this is all in Psalm 22 in the Old Testament Bible and the Jewish Bible(Torah)

Hey, I really like your videos and as a Christian you have many very good points however, the revelation that jesus was given is not a book, the word injil if you do your research means “good news” and what was the good news?, the good news was that he would save humanity from their sins, and that through the shedding of his perfect blood we would be saved, this is the gospel, and his very own name isa which is yeshua in hebrew means savior and Christ which is Hamashiaj is annoited one, so if you put all that together it means the anointed savior who brought the good news that he would save us from our sins.
And the quote that you mentioned about the messiah is from Mishneh Torah which is not a good source to use to know about Judaism and the messiah because its the opinions of rabbis Just like the Talmud, its not the actual Torah.

He's on par with Dan Brown as a laughing stock within the academic world. The History professors talk to the Art and Physics professors and all fall about laughing concerning Dan Brown's films. They don't need theology professors to understand that Dan Brown knows nothing about Christianity because he knows nothing about anything except how to write amusing fiction which is the same with Carrier.

Mathew perspective of Jesus is meant to speak for Jewish community, which is his lineage of birth as descended of David .
Mark audience meant to speak for the Roman as they're really amazed about the miracle ,that's why the gospel of mark contained more miracle's than other gospel .
Luke gospel is speaking to the audience and perspective of Greek , which is why is very well with investigation and data .
John gospel , is the revelation Jesus from above ( heaven ) and from theological perspective. This is why we found in john 1:1-3 , in the beginning was the Word , ... Which is God .

Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you". "Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter. Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures. Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). 4. Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14: "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me". The Sprit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy referes to none other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) NOTE: All quotations of the Bible are taken from the King James Version.

Read John 16 from the beginning and you will know you are selling nonsense here.
Reading is hard, I know! You apparently missed the following:
      "Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. "
Mohammed was both seen and known.
Jesus claims the Spirit of Truth is known by his contemporaries.
Mohammed never claimed to be "in you".
"The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him." This cannot be physical, let alone a man. Not of this world...
These are on the holy spirit aka Spirit of Truth, NOT Mohammed. The concept of holy spirit is quite profound. You trying to taint the concept of the holy spirit by claiming morapist was foretold in the new testament is an insult to humanities intellect. I know this is like 'mainstream islamic knowledge'. That's what makes this ever more hilarious. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

No historian will say that Jesus never existed. Why do you have to assume His existence? It's the same as assuming your existence inspite of the fact that you exist.

What's the time gap between the writings of Mark and Matthew? Is that a generational gap? What's the central idea of the gospel of Mark? Do proper research and avoid speaking in the air.

Jesus is the only reason I worship a Jewish God. You are saying that, Jesus didn't fulfill the prophecy of making all people worship the same god.

Pause the video at 4:45. You will notice on the bottom line the words "Mishneh Torah", the Mishneh (also spelt Mishnah or Mishna) is one of the earlier components of the Talmud. For those that do not know, the Talmud, also called the Torah SheBeal Peh, is the Oral Traditions and Laws of the Pharisees (those people that schemed to have Jesus crucified), which was committed to writing in around the year 200 AD or early 3rd century. That is the best part of 200 years AFTER THE DEATH OF CHRIST that these rabbinical musings were written down. These ARE NOT predictions or even anything resembling an impartial insight as to what the Jews before Christ believed the Messiah would be like but they are instead "after the fact" rabbinical ponderings of a clique who hated Jesus that were written almost 200 years after his crucifixion.
One should only refer to the Old Testament (what the Rabbis refer to as the Torah SheBichtav), New Testament and not the Torah SheBeal Peh (the Talmud).
Judaism is not true to the Torah SheBichtav, but rather to the Torah SheBeal Peh. If Gentiles could keep this hester (concealment) distinction uppermost in their minds when dealing with rabbinic claims, demands and boasts of authority and knowledge, it would go a long way towards clearing up the spiritual and epistemological smog that is at the very heart of Judaism, its posturing as a biblical, i.e. "Torah" faith. When faced with claim on the Torah, one should always ask the claimant, which "Torah" is it to which you are loyal?
