The brazil ending is a reference to the movie with the same name. In the movie the mc is about to get tortured, but gets saved by one of his friends and drives off into the sunset together with his love interest. However in the end it's revealed that this happy ending was a delusion, and that the mc was actually strapped down to a chair being tortured and never got saved. What he saw was a daydream he made up as a coping method for the situation he was in.
In a similar way, Cassie is escaping into a fantasy world where everything is fine to cope with the situation she is in (being cornered and caught by the Mimic), as despite the happy looks of the endings art, Cassie's breathing says otherwise.

About the Brazil ending: It is incredibly dark when you realize what's going on in it. The mask is attempting to comfort Cassie before she dies, telling her that everything is alright and Gregory is safe. But in the real world she's alone, trapped and scared, simply waiting for the mimic to finally end her.

A detail about Freddy in Ruin I think is really cool is his chest plating all broken and flapping open and close making it look like a gigantic monstrous maw, even the death animation has the headless bear shoving Cassie into his chest cavity like he’s eating her whole. What was once a safe haven for Gregory in base game become a source of fear for Cassie is an interesting design choice.

I’ve always thought the Brazil ending is the most tragic and also disturbing one, in a way. Cassie takes a wrong turn and ends up in a dead end. Filled with dread and fear, knowing exactly there’s no way out for her, she puts on the mask, and the system plays a made up sequence to calm her as the mimic reaches her and rips her apart.

But then it's revealed that he was never saved, that was all in his head as he had gone insane and will remain in that facility for god knows how long

From what I understand, the "Brazil" ending is a reference to a movie with the same name, in which the protagonist seemingly gets away from the government chasing him and rides off into the sunset with his girlfriend. However, what actually happened was that he was captured and subsequently killed, and the "good ending" was just a hallucination right before his death. So in the Brazil ending, Cassie took a wrong turn and escaped into cyber space, hallucinating Gregory and her "good ending". It's really sad actually :(

As someone mildly invested in FNAF lore, knowing that the Mimic is probably going to replace William Afton (and when I say that I specifically mean William Afton's 'soul' or 'remnant' or whatever the hell defines a person in FNAF lore) as the antagonist of the FNAF franchise is a huge relief. First of all, bringing back Afton himself after the ending of FNAF 6 just felt SUPER unsatisfying, it feels like taking a big shit all over that game. I know Glitchtrap and Burntrap still exist, but IMO there’s still a pretty big difference in how I personally perceive a program mimicking William Afton vs. an animatronic that literally contains his ‘soul’ and is just straight up meant to be him returned from the dead.
This also opens up some new avenues for the FNAF franchises’ lore to pursue. Instead of explaining the animatronic’s hostility through supernatural forces, like possessions and stuff, it can instead focus on AI learning and how THAT can be scary - I think AI gamer presidents are hilarious, but I’m also not going to deny that their implications are pretty unsettling. It’s a cool alternative theme for the games imo.
    Also, 'THE MIMIC' is hilarious.

Now, Afton ain’t peepaw, and he doesn’t always come back. He’s in UCN, or just completely gone (depending on if you believe frights is in the games or not), he’s not a god, he’s just a man who thought he was invincible, a man who thought he would always come back, but in reality he’s just a guy with a massive ego.

So seeing her get expanded on as a character to being more than what a lot of people insulted her for, was sweet to me.

u copied a video or short that has already stated this. its better to do ur research ur self then go by what influencers sat and just believe it. unless steel wool come out and outright say its a nod to it, u cant definatively state this is true. ecspecially when it comes from influencers ur so quick to jump ahead to believe.
i personalky take what any influencers say with grain of salt unless ive also found out this to be true as well from what ive personally gathered witnessed and or seen. even some influencers out there often say to take even what they say with a grain of salt and do ur own research to find ur own answers and conclusions because influencers tend to thrive off of misleading and false content, tips and stuff like that to drive their fan base and community and viewers in the specific direction they want to control or take advantage of. you often see this with cod youtubers in which their "tips" tend to be sly hidden methods to make the player base more toxic, cringe and worsen the game for others by trying to mislead their viewers to make out this is okay without directly stating this or pretending this isnt their intention. i cant remember a cod youtuber that ive seen quite a few shorts and videos on but hes this wannabe bams youtuber that tries to act like him by copying his playstyle in ways, has this false ego on him and is these cringe content creator that endorses toxic behaviour and does a poor job of rinsing people and getting under peoples skin.
the other youtuber ive seen which is mainly his shorts is also a cod youtuber. does these tips and tricks to try and guide players to play better in cod. although this seems helpful from 1st glance, i have seen in quite a few of his shorts and maybe 1 or 2 videos that he does try and attmept this sly method at times to try and influence people he gives these so called tips to play a certain way for his own advantage. he expects players to tryhard and no life the game thru such methods in which arnt always factual let alone beneficial for alot of players. hes not a bad person from what ive been able to tell but he does things i dont think hes aware of that unintentionally shows a toxic trait in him. he seems to think that the only good players are those who play fast trickshot and all that which simply isnt true and most of his tips are more half truths if anything and cater to one specific playstyle which he classes as being good at the game when there are many playstyles in which people are good at the game for not playing that way. for instance i tend to play far slower than most players because i dont ever feel like i am faced with anyone my skill level that is worthy of competing or a competition so i never put the full effort in that i can pull off. im even used to small screens even as small and as old as those box tv screens which i play best at the smaller the screen is. just last week alone, i was playing cod on a big screen to get used to the bigger screen as i need to buy a new tv now (tv is fine but the controller was unresponsive and we dont have a spare for the tv ive used for like 10 years now) i turned my sensitivity from about 12 which is when im on a small screen to like 4 or 6 because the fov is wider and it felt too fast and blurry to keep a flow going while playing. it didnt take long even at a very low sensitivity to get multiple tdm and kill confirmed matches with 30 to 40 kills being used to it within a few days barely changing settings being on a new screen controller and not using my full potential of skill. this is the major difference.
also sorry for the essay length i just needed to rant and get it off my chest cause people need to hear the reality of it and its something people dont speak up about.

Seeing the Pizzaplex whole and shiny and new in the base game, like it's supposed to be, provides another layer to Ruin that takes the experience to a whole new level. By experiencing the original version first you can compare/contrast it with the destroyed version in the DLC and appreciate that aspect, and if you're so inclined you can relate to Cassie more because you too have memories of the place before it got trashed. Ruin can stand strong on its own, but like most DLC the context of the base game seriously helps your understanding of the situation.

Am I the only one who feels like the mimic was shoehorned in because fans didn’t like that William Afton was back? I mean, it feels like all of help wanted and the base game of security breach were leading up to the idea of william afton’s spirit being attached to the circuit boards and being scanned into help wanted, infecting vannesa and making her bring Afton back, leading into the burntrap ending in Security Breach. But it feels as though they saw the fans reactions and felt like they had to retcon the past two games worth of story to give the fans an ending they would like, and not one that fit where the story was going.

So, there's actually an answer for this ending that's a bit speculative, but I think it's a fairly solid one.
The Brazil ending, in both name and execution, is likely a reference to the 1985 film, Brazil. The ending of the film has the main protagonist falling into a delusion of a safe, happy ending whilst in reality, he is strapped to a torture chair.
Not exactly sure why Steel Wool would reference the film, nor what the implications of it for Cassie's character could be, but this is kinda the closest we've got to a real answer lol.

The fact that Ruin is so different than base SB really gives you the same feelings someone would have if they frequented the FNAF 1 pizzeria and then came back after it was abandoned, which is something we didnt have before
Plus you know how the animatronics became so monstrous, after all you did it. You crushed chica, you destroyed monty's bottom half, you took roxie's eyes and you left freddy without a head in one of the endings
It also comes with the gameplay, switching from an open world game to an extremely linear game really shows the way the pizzaplex is run down. Now there is only one way to go with the only difference between the endings being a few secrets here and there

I think M.X.E.S. could have been so much better if it just stuck around until you leave an area once triggered. Also, as far as I can tell M.X.E.S. just sets a timer each time you go into the mask and appears if the timer runs out, so the timer should only slowly regenerate instead of instantly resetting when you take off the mask, to add an element of resource conservation and make it less easily circumvented. M.X.E.S. being semi-permanent would also make it so that you can't just let it spawn and then take off the mask, so you would need to add some sort of warning that it will appear soon, something like the low music box indicator from FNAF 2.
Once M.X.E.S. is active, it would basically work the same as it currently does, but taking off the mask would only make pursue you slower, instead of just completely disappearing after a while. This way, you would actually have to try to keep track of M.X.E.S. so you know you're safe to put the mask on again.
I feel like this simple change could make so much of the game a lot tenser just due to the fact that spawning M.X.E.S. can legitimately be a threat even during the downtime between animatronic encounters. Imagine being in the middle of one of the AR catwalks and you get the M.X.E.S. warning

I'm dying on the hill that Glitchtrap is Afton and not the Mimic. First off, based off of tape girls own description of what happened when the circuit boards the team was provided with, the game essentially programmed itself, as if it was alive. That tells me those circuit boards had to have 1: Known the behaviors of every animatronic while they were possessed after hours, including the behaviors of William Afton as Springtrap and the Funtimes, something impossible for the Mimic to have seen, as it was only shown showtime routines and wasn't present at Fazbear's Fright, The Crying Childs Bedroom, or Circus Baby's Rentals, 2: Have some degree of sentience, as like I said, the Circuit Boards programmed the games for them, 3: One of them had to have had intimate knowledge on what occurred during the MCI, and there's only two candidates for that, Afton, and the child who would possess Freddy, and I don't think the child would recreate it's literal worst day ever, 4: come from something damaged enough to be called "junk," which would fit the bill if it came from the ruined animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, which funnily enough, is what mimic was doing down there originally: dismantling the old animatronics so they could be reused. Moving on from circuit boards and Afton recreating the MCI in Pizza Party, lets talk about Glitchtraps voice. Yes, it is garbled and messed up versions of Tape Girl saying "Can you hear me?" but that doesnt confirm it's Mimic, as voice replication is not unique to the Mimic, as the Funtimes share this trait, and who designed the Funtimes? Afton, meaning he knows how to duplicate voices. Next, based on Fazbear Frights, we know Afton can project his conscience through multiple objects, as shown when he spreads his remnant essence over the Fazbear Storage Facility, meaning even if Aftons main body is gone, his remnant can be anywhere. Lastly, and this part is important, Mimic has never intentionally copied William Afton. Many staples of Afton's mo, (Stuffing corpses inside suits, using a costume to disguise himself, and luring people away under false pretenses) are seen in the Mimic, but Tales explains where he got these behaviors, and most, if not all, came from stuff it did with David being corrupted when Edwin taught it violence. Hiding in suits? Hide and Seek. Stuffing bodies into suits? Putting away leftovers. Luring someone away? Learned that from one of it's victims, as when he called for help, people came. Even if the Mimic saw the MCI, it wouldn't know what it's seeing, as it's thought process is akin to that of a child, and wouldn't know what it is. Even if it saw just suits being put on, it still couldn't process that, as (quoting scott here) "What is seen in shadows is easily misunderstood in the mind of a child." For the cherry on top, the Mimic has not once used any rabbit themed costumes, the main tie to William Afton, who even as a spirit, is represented as a Yellow Rabbit. Even when the Mimic got stuck in the springlock suit, it was a jester suit, not a rabbit suit, further driving a wedge between the two characters, and honestly makes Mimic more similar to Baby.

I was so pleasently surprised with how polished and creative this dlc is, it's just great to see a new spark that might indicate a bright future of modern fnaf. As someone who hasn't played any of these games and only got more into this series after the release of security breach it makes me happy to see the positive reception ruin has gotten
Obviously that doesn't mean I don't have any issues with it. There are certainly some aspects of the story that were randomly changed ( mimic replacing burntrap's role ), some things are arguably too fan service ( Roxy's character change ), the game has a lot of "cheap" jumpscares that don't serve any threat plus the mechanics might eventually get repetetive and a little annoying
Anyways, I am looking forward to the second help wanted game, once again even if I am never going to play it. I am certainly interested in how this story will develop and I will gladly see new characters and locations 😁

What I absolutely love is candy cadet’s story. If you find all the tokens in the sink hole, and bring them to candy cadet, he will tell Cassie a story about a boy and his mom who live in the woods, but there is a monster running around. One day the mother manages to catch the monster and trap it in the basement of the house, but the monster is always trying to escape and the boys is always scared of it, so the mother sings him a lullaby to calm him. What she didn’t realize was that the monster had stopped thrashing, and started listening. So one day when the mother goes out to find food, the monster starts MIMICKING the mothers voice and sings the lullaby. The boy hears the lullaby, and opens the basement door. To put it more simply, candy cadet is literally flat out telling Cassie that the thing in the basement calling out to her is not what she thinks it is, but she thinks it’s a creepy story, and moves on.
Something else I loved is how for me at least the dlc almost sets up a red herring for the finale. Before you get to the mimic, you go through the pizzeria simulator building, specifically the room you fight William. You literally walk right past the recharge station that he comes out of (or the thing that was pretending to be him). When I saw that the first time i said to myself “watch we’re gonna save Gregory and then springtrap will appear and we have to go back to the boss fight room and burn him again” which made the actual reveal that much more surprising for me

The Brazil ending could be a nod to how the AR mask affects its wearer. It shows them what they want to see, like how Cassie saw an unbroken Roxie in the real one's place.
In that moment, Cassie just wanted to be somewhere safe with her friend, so that's what the mask gave her. It's the final step into the same delusions that whammied Vanny.
And if that is the case, the ending scene also showing Vanessa alongside Gregory might imply where she ended up when the dust settled. Vanny just wasn't a thing in the Burntrap ending, so tying her back into the loop somehow is definitely called for.
