I used to hang out we a group of friends about 20 of us in the late 70s to the early 80s. We was around 16 /17 years of age at that time. Some were mods who loved the jam , the new wave / punks were huge strangers fans and the skin heads were into the special's. We all went to the same parties , the same pubs and we all listened to each others music. There was not 1 single bit of bother amongst us . As you can imagine the juke boxes in the pubs were full of this type of music and we all put each others choice of music on. What great times.
G'day to you, in '71 I was given a Pair of Dockers for my 21st,before I knew it it was Braces and Crombie and shaved Head, I became a Scooter Boy, I am now 74 caint afford the Martens anymore, but still love SKA, 2 Tone and Reggae, thanks for this ,brings back great memories! Armadale West Aust.
Sadly that would be the lsast good years of the 60's/early 70's as the dark long haired flared Boot Boy look was coming in a year or 2 later and would of have to wait till 1976 and the start of Punk.
@@chrisr5499 We had a very strong English Vibe over here, it was hard to keep up, Suedes, Boot Boys , Scooter Boys , Skins and Punks of course! Armadale West Aust.
I was a MOD in the 80s and lived n died in Carnaby Street where I met so many skins punks etc etc . Great people THE LOT OF US as for the song mate when Setting Sons came out I would blare it out of my bedroom lol it was ok I had a mentally handicaped school behind me and used to get the kids there dancing haha great days and fantastic mems THANKS and can I join your club please 😁😁😁👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Like you I spent my Saturdays up Carnaby street in the early/mid 80s. Great times. Meeting Mods & Skins etc who descended on Carnaby street every Saturday from all over the country. We used to go on marches down Oxford Street and then down to Covent garden for a row with the casuals lol. Happy days!
That's such a good song and evokes so many memories of a time long forgotten. Weller is such a talented lyricist as well as musician and singer. I just remembered that I had a parka with various Mod patches sewn on. British Mods was one with a picture of a scooter with lights and mirrors on it. Think I had a PX125 at that time. Actually yes, Isle of Wight Mod rally is coming back to me. Wow, what a blast from the past. All this from your excellent video. Thanks for creating and uploading. Liked and Subscribed. KTF 👍😎

@@thekashman4566 We used to love giving the Mods a good hiding back in the early 80s, we hated them but it was just all good innocent fun back then, just boots and fists and the odd bike chain or bottle but nothing too serious that a Hospital surgeon could not sort out. Rockers ruled the roads back then .The thing about the Mods was every other group hated them, rockers, bikers, headbangers, punks all hated them, and we never really saw many skinheads as they were mostly glue sniffers lying about in parks ect back then.

@@winstoniofarana7720 yes the trouble is nowadays they have shut all the day centers and the price of biscuits is higher than a pair of doctor martins ! ☹️

Acknowledged, but the Teddy boys became the Rockers, who were the lowest subculture in that late 70s era, speaking as a MOD 🤙🏾

As much as i love Lambrettas i think they are ruined with all those mirrors and lights on the front, they look a complete mess and serve no purpose.
