    Man thank you for this video. I have been scouring the internet looking for this brand and an install. About to do 55' along the back of the pool when it is installed next month. Badly wanted cedar but I'll need 108 6' planks and that add up! Thinking I'll do pine and stain it instead. Thanks for the tips!

    looks like I could DIY that, thanks. Didn't really catch how you got them all level though as it skipped past what you do with the shims. Did you insert shims until it was all level then you cut them?

    Excellent work. I live in a townhouse with an elevated deck (about 17ft off the ground). I was concerned that the HOFT system might be too heavy. Do you know if it would still be safe to install? Thanks!

    • @decksbye3269
      @decksbye3269  Год назад

      If your deck is built to code the weigth should not be a problem. If anchourred to blocking below the decking, it will be as strong as any deck railing.

      So when you put the rachet strap on, was it to pull the 2 posts closer together? If so, how did the posts not shift back to where they were before tou put the strap on, if that makes sense. Thanks

      Update, since posting my comment I purchased the Hoft system for my deck and it’s fantastic!!! I called Hoft and inquired about using spacers, they stated the spacers aren’t necessary. Anyone on the fence about this product go ahead and take the plunge, it’s so easy to install and it looks great, I’m hope this helps

    How is this going to hold up to high winds? or even someone falling into it?

    • @decksbye3269
      @decksbye3269  Год назад +5

      The blocking under the dcking which the poles are screwed into will make all the difference. I used structural screws to anchour the post down. I am confident that most wind storms it will hold up to.
      In regards to someone falling into it, similar to deck railing.

    Hello I don’t have a deck lol iam gonna just use it for privacy wall behind my shed but the problem is there’s a fence with poles in asphalt so tear out the poles and put these black posts into the asphalt?? Please comment on how I can to this project the easiest way thanks everybody god. Bless Joey 😊

    • @decksbye3269
      @decksbye3269  Год назад

      These posts are designed to be screwed down. Its possible you could use concrete screws with expansion screws drilled into the asphalt. But I have never done that before.

    Why did you cut out parts of the vid with the spacers and setting the posts… and why did the first spacers have a screw in them
    And why didn’t you lean on it or shake it to prove stability or no stability

    Hi everyone. Buyer beware. I bought these from Home Depot and install them but guess what one and a quarter inch outdoor wood panels does not exist in Home Depot, Lowe’s, JW lumber, and Dixieline lumber. Then how in the world are we going to install these Were the stores that sell them does not carry the wood panels for them. I am in San Diego. Has anyone else running to this issue? I’m stuck. I emailed the company waiting for the response. That’s absolutely ridiculous. My suggestion is find the wood and then buy these posts that only takes 5/4 or one on a quarter inch outdoor panels.
