I’m lucky that I was introduced to much of this line of thinking early enough in my career as a firefighter to see the benefit. I’ve been following Matt’s direction for 15 yrs and a general conjugate approach before that. This stuff’s allowed me to stay maximally prepared and minimally injured. Thanks Matt!

Listen to this man he speaks 💯...I’m 52 done every type of training-trained for the police academy as well after I passed the fitness test but never went to the academy that’s a diff story I’m retired now. But spent most of my life lifting-occasionally would add in more cardio when I was younger and all it ever did was increase my appetite at a time when I wasn’t the best eater. All I do now is strength train specifically for past 5 yrs(I compete as well) and weight has never been more stable even see large abs for first time in my life

Oh,I do walk as often as possible that’s the extent of my cardio and sometimes I’ll do dropsets throughout a workout or just shorten my rest periods to raise the heart rate

Great video Matt. As a LEO in my 9th year and someone who has been training for 15+ years, you said it best. It what you can recover from.

Love these types of videos. I just turned 40 and have been a police officer for 14 years. I switched from "bodybuilding" style training to more strength training several years ago so always looking for tips on how to make it even better. Will probably look into the tactical train heroic.

@@WenningStrength I’ve been filling a lot of your stuff just the warm ups have helped drastically reduce my shoulder pain during benching. And your one of the only guys I’ve seen explain the trap bar deadlift I’ve sent it to a lot of my friends in the army

You’re not wrong about that lmfao. In the marines, they dgaf what you put in your body as long as:
    1) it’s not illegal drugs
    2) you can still run a 3 mile under 23 minutes
    3) you’re not fat💀💀

Great content. I cannot overstate how many potentially lethal situations I was able to avoid by having good grip strength from deadlifts. So important for LEOs on patrol who frequently deal with people resisting.

Matt I’m really interested from a researchers perspective where your finding the data on tactical athlete injuries. I’ve heard you touch on the fact the the fire service pays millions of dollars in workers comp as a justification for subsidizing better fitness and training programs, but I am very curious about where it is where you found this data. I’m not questioning you at all I simply want to read it myself. Thanks for everything your doing man. You are an absolute force in this field and your one of the best out there touching on tactical populations. Thank you.

Wenning warms ups are great but they are not a replacement for running by any means. You need to be able to move and be strong at the same time. You can name any selection process anywhere and I’m sure running is involved.

I have proven getting better at running w out the impact. Get your thought pattern out of 20 years ago. And a real firemen or soldier will have 60+ pounds on them. But hey everyone knows more than me 💪💪
