This smoky eye is really nice! You’re whole look is giving me dope grunge vibes. I really appreciate the education you laid on us because it really is helpful. I’d really like to see how you would execute a smoky eye using red, gold, and black or deep dark brown. Just a suggestion so no pressure 🤣🤣
I'm so happy that I found your channel! 💕 Your videos are amazing, you are very creative and you are an awesome "teacher" compared to a lot of others on the platform when it comes to explaining the techniques and such! I've learnt so much from watching just a couple of your videos! 💕 Your looks are so classy and glamorous! 😍 Most looks in the tutorials we see these days are so bright, colorful, trendy or just simply boring. Your looks are timeless, they are interesting and they suit most people! I appreciate your work so much! I rarely find youtubers that I want to subscribe to, but I subscribed to you! 💕 Also I love that you get straight to the point, no drama and everything you say is relevant to the video! This is very rare these days! You remind me of the early youtubers that inspired me back in 2009 who made me want to become a makeup artist. I have been a makeup artist for many years now and I thought I knew most things until today when I discovered your channel! haha ♥️ I'm so excited, I wish I discovered your channel earlier 😭♥️ Sorry about this long comment, you just made my day and I am so happy 😅💕
Many of us have palettes (eye), and most you tubers only show 1 tutorial. Could you do 5 looks from one palette? Not sure which palette, which do you feel is most purchased? Thank you, you are so talented and your wording is so educational, I simply love your channel!
So glad you discussed the choice of colors and considerations for skin tone, hair, etc. I’m pretty light-skinned but not fair, with dark blonde hair but light eyebrows and gray-green eyes. Also deep-set eyes. So every time I’ve tried to do a brown Smokey eye, I feel like I’ve made myself look like a skull and that’s not what I’m going for haha! I’ll try to reach for some taupes and build up from lighter to darker over a few days to see where the “sweet spot” is!
Totally a perfect example of a classic smokey eye. Spot on with how to best flatter with the right colors. Only thing I would say is that it totally depends on what you are wearing too. My favorite smokey eyes are with jewel tones and metallics, but you absolutely can just use one color and blend it out. The classic smokey eye I always go from the darkest color on the lid, then blend the mid tone right above the crease, then into the lightest shade. Repeat on lower lashline. Sometimes liner then darkest over it, depending on colors I'm using.
Loved this tutorial! Have a Christmas party on Wednesday and I am damn well going to try this... I am completely intimidated by smoky eyes and red lips (not together lol... just as individual looks)... luckily I have medium skin tones, dark hair and eyes so I got a burgundy 9 Mac Palette and I am praying 🙏🏼 that I can pull this off with a nude lip. Thank you for using a mix of high end and drugstore products... especially for us Aussie girls as makeup over here is bloody ridiculously priced. Unless you get it on special a L'Oréal lipstick will set you back $25. You made this look easy so I may do a trial run tonight and even use the lashes (as they always work better for me on the second outing). Love your channel. Would love to see a no makeup makeup look (like secret makeup if you know what I mean?)
I had a total lens replacement and I promise you that they won’t blind you,(trust me girl I had these same fears) along with a high myopia I had a cataract (from an injury). I went from a -12.5 to a -2. Worth it.
I wish I could pull off this look! It's sooo stunning! Whenever I put a darker color in my waterline I look worn out, tired, not hot etc. Wish there was a workaround to this other than getting a different face lol
Hey Alexandra! I found you the other day! Where were you hiding my dear? We have the same tones hair and yep in one of them bald brows which I can make very well bc I've been on chemo starlight for the last 10 yrs. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer with metastatic (spreading from site of origin) it's a bummer, I am a fighter, always have been. I love the way you describe exactly what you're doing, I love, love, love that you're not all fake and bubbly, hate those RUclipsrs lol! Today's look was great, and I have that same exact palette, thanks for the video and you have a new sub!
I used to hate smokey eyes, I find it so dark for my complexion since I’m super pale and I thought smokey eye is done with only dark shadows. If you are fair, use very light browns or peach tones and brown eyeliner/mascara, it’ll look amazing
I appreciate seeing a makeup tutorial where you're also struggling putting color on your waterline. I'm new to makeup still and struggle so hard doing that without blinking and poking my eyes lol
Its so Funny all along I thought when they say smoky eyes I had to go for black shadow, until I saw you.:)))) You are very pretty and doing very Nice job dear.Thank you.
Great Smokey eye. Thanks for your explanations. I just got the Pretty Cool pallet recently and will try this look, although I am darker than you so will maybe use the darkest shade, but the taupey shade is nice too. New sub. Your lip look was nice too but I usually just wear lipstick, not even lip liner. By the time I do my eyes and face, I just want to hurry up and swipe color on my
Loved it! I have very short hair too... but I’m still after years of trying not happy with my cut! Any tips you have for finding a hairdresser who is good at cutting short hair. When it’s short it’s all in the cut.. ugh!
I can only see the zipper on the sleeve of your shirt and I love it lol where is it from ?? Btw I love your explanation and walk through on the eye look 🤗🙂
Hi there! I know this video is 6 years old, but i was looking for a brown smokey eye tutorial and this was recommended to me! I have a medium warm tone in my skin, and my hair is brunette with caramel highlights. I notice that you are also warm toned, but the palette you are using for your smokey eye is cool toned? I thought that i should be looking for warm toned browns for a smokey eye on me? Do you recommend to chose cool tones for a smokey eye in my case? I am confused lol!
I honestly would like to see any RUclipsr with my face shape, or anyone do a makeup look without false lashes. I find them really hard to put on and not practical for a daily look.
One of my friends from high school just recently had lasik and she was basically blind before. She went from basically the strongest eyewear possible (number was in the 200 to 300 range) to 20/20 vision In a day. She recommends it to everyone now. She even talked about her surgery and how it really was no where near as bad as she thought it would be. The worst part she said was having to lay around and be lazy because you're not supposed to use cell phones or any electronics for so many days after due to eye strain.
Can I ask your thoughts on this look for a redhead? Do I keep the cool toned browns, or warm up slightly? I have light skin and light blue eyes, but I wear my brows taupe/brown, not auburn.
Love this look. If i have deep set eyes do i still have to define the crease? Once i open my eyes i can barely see the eyeshadow i've put on. Thanks!! Love your channel. 😊
I have this exact same problem! I usually only do 2 shadows, bc I don't have room for more. I do a lighter color on the lid and a darker color in the crease, outer corner, and brow bone. I try to bring the crease color up slightly higher onto the brow bone bc otherwise when I open my eyes, you can't see it. I skip highlighting the brow bone bc there's no room and highlighters make features more prominent, which is something I definitely don't want to do to my brow bone!
I keep asking myself do I really want this palette? I have sooooo many warm palettes and I'm honestly getting to where I don't think they look as good on me, I think because everyone else LOVES warm tones I needed to also buttttttt.... I'm deep down living for this palette 🤔 and now I seen you use it I think my answer is yes!!
have the same problem with warm tones of brown color and also keep myself asking if I need this palette :)))) Let me know pls if this palette worth it. Thanks :)
Laughed out loud at the “natural” smoky eye part. 😂 I think what you meant was maybe that certain colors are less overwhelming for fairer skin/hair? I can wear thin black liquid liner but never anything more than that. I most often go for brown liners. (I have light hair and light skin)
Love your look. That’s similar to how I do Smokey eyes. My friend did a/her version of a Smokey eye. It was terrible. Dark silver and black shimmer everywhere. Bloody terrible it looked. Lol.
I'm 50+ a couple lol and I'm still learning makeup. I modeled as a preteen. Im just not good at make up. You teach well. I'm dirty blonde . Blue eye. Blonde eyelashes and brows. So its hard to not make it look obvious
schau mal im spiegel ob es dir stehen könnte. aber denk immer daran, dass man weiter blicken muss um den wert des makeups und des schhminkens zu erkennen
As licensed Master Cosmetologist, love the smoky eye… but not loving the lip liner job. Looks overdrawn. Keep playing with your makeup is the best way to learn. 👍😊🙏
I just tried to do the same things, and why do i see a clown looking at me from the mirror? . . Ladies do not go for a smokey eye as your first attempt at makeup. . . Or do so whatever, you’ll learn from your mistakes
I guess they are good tips for in general. But unfortunately for me the ‘rules’ of colour matching just don’t work. For eg, I have darkest brown hair that has warm undertones in the sun (almost black but with red hues), my eyebrows and eyelashes however are naturally a lot lighter and are more ashy/taupe, then my eye colour is light hazel. My skin is very cool toned fair but will tan nicely in the sun AND I have lots and lots of brown freckles. So for me, the rules never work. If I did a dark Smokey eye I look like a clown. I just use my bronzer in my crease, a light beige on my lid and maaaaybe a light light brown or taupe along the lash line. Can NOT do liner, unless it’s that lash line colour but really really blended. Basically i just won’t wear makeup Cos it’s easier :(
I don't know why, but in this video you look soooo much like Olivia Wilde. You always resemble her, but here its like I keep thinking I'm looking at her and not you.
You are the absolute best at explaining colors and shapes to us. It’s like taking a makeup class. Thank you so much!

Per usual, a great tutorial for smoky eyes...your ability to teach concisely is marvelous. I never tire watching your tutorials!
Stunning. I was intimidated by the smoky eye....not anymore!

Thank you for telling us how to modify the technique for different eye shapes (like hooded eyes) and complexion!

OMFG this is literally the best smokey eye tutorial ever! 😍
Such good info! Just found out I should be wearing cool toned makeup and you totally hit the nail on the head! Love your personality as well.
Recreated this and it looked GORGEOUS also loved the information at the beginning
This helped me so much for my look for a Valentine date later, thank you so much ❤️
You are my favorite!! You’re so real. You explain everything so well.
The lower lash line intimidates the hell out of me. This is an amazing tutorial! Thank you for all the info!
This is one of my favorite looks! You look soooo beautiful

You are literally the only Beauty RUclipsr that I watch. I used to watch so many
Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling with the Smokey eye!

Just discovered you and have been binge watching your videos! You’re awesome and love your tutorials 😊
Revisiting this one 🫣
Love it you look gorgeous as always really easy smoky eye and not too dramatic like watching the way you explain every detail..
This is no joke so pretty. ALL your looks are so pretty. Subscribed last night and have been binge-watching since. How old are you Alex??
I love your tutorials. You really breakdown the application and I appreciate the tips.
I had a total lens replacement and I promise you that they won’t blind you,(trust me girl I had these same fears) along with a high myopia I had a cataract (from an injury). I went from a -12.5 to a -2. Worth it.
Have you tried the Blend Bunnies Dollhouse palette? It’s so beautiful for this! Colorful neutrals in a sense
You have beautiful eyes! Thank your mom and dad for them 😄😍
Love this...looking forward to trying this...when my palette arrives.
Love it😊 love your Videos!
Beautiful 😻
Just found u and I’m hooked!!!! Where is your top from!!!!!?????
Looks stunning
Beautiful. Thanks for what tips for us blonde eyelash blonde eyebrow folks.
I wish I could pull off this look! It's sooo stunning! Whenever I put a darker color in my waterline I look worn out, tired, not hot etc. Wish there was a workaround to this other than getting a different face lol

You are so beautiful and i loooove this look!!! ❤️❤️
Love your eye look
Loved it! I have very short hair too... but I’m still after years of trying not happy with my cut! Any tips you have for finding a hairdresser who is good at cutting short hair. When it’s short it’s all in the cut.. ugh!
Thank you for all your great tips and advice! I love doing a Smokey eye, it’s my absolute fav!! 👍🏻💯💜💙❤️

I love this makeup look ! 😍💕
Can you please do a coral eyeshadow look tutorial?
Awesome, love it!
This is really helpful!
I feel the same about LASIK! Only have one set of eyes. I’ve always been too scared to try it.
Love your in-depth videos the most
What about me? I have black hair, lashes, eyebrow but I am fair
You look amazing in this haircut, you remind me Twiggy💕
Nice❤❤

This is a super old vid, most of my recent ones haven’t used falsies, so maybe they would help!
so simple so nice great video, you are beautiful :)
Have you ever reviewed catrice products? Would love to see your opinions on it. I’m looking at trying several things from ultra right now hmmm...
Do you have product recommendations for those with pale skin, blue eyes, light hair? I struggle to find the right shades for Smokey eyes.
I found tomorrow's look

I am loving your content! Im learning so much from you. Now, if only you can tell me what my coloring is! I have zero clue! Halp!
Can I ask your thoughts on this look for a redhead? Do I keep the cool toned browns, or warm up slightly? I have light skin and light blue eyes, but I wear my brows taupe/brown, not auburn.

5:35 undertone matters more than actual colouring. I’m not pale but I can’t wear dark shadows and liners without looking dead.
“My hair looks like a mom...who’s given up” 😂😂😂

You teach well.
I'm dirty blonde . Blue eye. Blonde eyelashes and brows. So its hard to not make it look obvious
Can I know how long you studied at school before becoming pro?
What is your foundation (color), because it is not listed? Thanks!
Maybe someone else knows what foundation and color Alexandra used? I really, really want to know since it is so rare to see pale olive matched so well
schau mal im spiegel ob es dir stehen könnte. aber denk immer daran, dass man weiter blicken muss um den wert des makeups und des schhminkens zu erkennen
maybe cohesive instead of natural? You do the best makeup tutorials I feel like I'm actually learn something
Alex, I seriously don't understand why you don't have a brand collaboration...
Any colour can be smokey if its dark; blue, green, purple..ect

I'm too scared for lasik eye surgery 😯👻😵
I would like to subscribe to your channel.
I don’t understand why you tell fair people not to go dark. A super black Smokey eye on bleach blonde hair with blue eyes looks amazing.
I just tried to do the same things, and why do i see a clown looking at me from the mirror?

Ladies do not go for a smokey eye as your first attempt at makeup.

Beautiful eyes but the top lip was kind of a failure. It’s over exaggerated don’t you think?
