For the “back to basics” series I would love a series on how to get flawless base makeup! I definitely find this to be the hardest and could use a refresher on technique :)
Back to basics series suggestion: start with a 5 min face/no make-up look with focus on talking about skin types/prep/ picking products, other basic principles. Follow up with base/complexion video, eyes, lips, etc. and finish series with a level 2 overall look (like basic smoky eye glam or something) :)
Ideas for back to the basics: Base, cheeks, eyes, lips Picking products for your skin type, what order to apply products, brushes and their purposes, shade matching tips, pairing colors/shades, how to work with your face/eye shapes
A beautiful basic tutorial. Iam 57 years old, dry skin and a danish minimalist... would love basic make up on all ages... perhaps your mother and grandmother.. if they will lend their faces to your beautiful skills. Or just ask older women about their "problems" as they age.. stuff changes alot. Love your channel ❤❤
I love the back to basics idea! I think one with a focus on base makeup (types of primer and what they are for, foundation, concealer) and picking for your skin type, maybe a video on cheeks (blush, bronzer, highlighter, how formulas differ and which formula for a desired look), a basic eye look and overview of different eyebrow products, and covering lips somewhere in there as well. I think it would be really helpful to go in depth on different brushes and tools for each section and when to use which tool. I feel like brushes and tools are always overlooked in these types of videos and it would be so informative! 💖
I don't care for matte eyeshadow looks on myself, but this looks gorgeous on you and really brings out your eyes. Your eyes are so gorgeous, they look like a gemstone (not sure which one!) 😊
Looove this eye look! For back to basics could you do a video on how to prevent your base from looking cakey/makeup-y? I feel like I still struggle with that sometimes.
Id love a back to basics on eyeshadow. Mine always catch on eye primer even when powdered and end up looking patchy. I genuinely dont know how YT make it look so easy!
Okay so I followed each step that Julia laid out in the video, as she was doing it. I was getting ready for a night out and wanted to try something new. I was blown away by the end results. Literally so pretty. I received so many compliments. New subscriber!
Julia, teach anything!!! Back to basics, current trends, new techniques.... you can't go wrong. I love all of your videos. You provide such great visuals and detailed, thoughtful explanations. I appreciate all of your hard work to get through to us beauty bunglers. Your style of teaching is so instinctive, you were born to it. Thanks for another great video.
I would love bronzer application tips and tips on how to pair fun colors together for eyeshadow and making blush match funky fun eyeshadows!! Julia’s videos always inspire me to try new techniques and just be more thoughtful with makeup 🥰🥰🥰
hi Julia! i’ve been loving watching your channel, the loveliest vibes! for the back to basics video, i never do any eye shadow but i gave it a try watching a tutorial and it was awful i realized i don’t know how much eye primer to apply, how much eye shadow to apply, what brush to use, what shape to do, how to blend so it doesn’t look like a mess, how to flatter my eyeshape, i’m so lost! a video for that would save me and i could actually follow your tutorials and use the eyeshadows in my closet lol
For back to basics I would love to see something along the lines of picking the right shade/undertone for contouring and foundation. As well as achieving a good winged shadow/liner look! Love your videos ♥️
I’m terrible at eye makeup and this is my favorite in depth tutorial! I’ll be coming back to this video everyday until my makeup looks as good as yours
For the back to basics series I would love to see a video about finding the right eyeshadow shade/look to realy make your eyes pop! I have dark brown eyes and I don't know how to make them stand out more. The eyelook you are wearing in the video compliments your eye color so beautiful🥰😍
I came across the video looking to try doing eyeshadow makeup for the first time and I want to thank you so much for this 💞 you’ve made a Smokey eye look so easy to do and I’m so impressed by how it turned out of myself ☺️ it’s all thanks to this tutorial and I owe it to this video for all the times I need help doing a Smokey eye in the future x thank you again x 🫶
For the Back to Basics series could you do one on all things eyelashes? I’ve been wearing makeup for over a decade atp and I’m still awful at curling my lashes and applying mascara 😭 I always always get mascara all over my lids and ruin my eyeshadow. A video on mascara application would be so so helpful!!!
Back to basics idea - How to blend eyeshadows for different eye shapes! I don’t have a lot of lid space and so the windshield and circular blending techniques aren’t realistic for me 😢
Uhg I loveeeee calico critters. We have so many 🥹❤️✨ the little baby ducks are my all time fave. Love this brown Smokey eye look. I go for this with red lip for stage makeup , it’s so flattering 🙌 love your videos, they’re so calming and such good content
loved this video! i've never been able to get a smoky eye look good, this is perfect! I didnt have a black eyeshadow so used my darkest brown and the effect was just as good - i've got pretty light colouring anyway so sometimes browns are better than blacks on me . thank you!
Thanks for a great video. The look is gorgeous, sometimes I think that we (me) overthink and complicated things when it comes to our makeup. Less is often more! 💕
for a basics video idea, i'd love to see a video about how you pair eyeshadow colours w blush and lip colours :) would also love a video about lip combos ie which lipliner shades to pair w lip products
Stunning stunning tutorial!!!! I love in depth videos from you!!!! Maybe you can show us how you decide which colors are you going to combine for a colorful look!!!
I was so happy in the kitty intermission to see the calico critters! Since you first mentioned them you made me remember them and I’ve purchased quite a few now, so I credit you with starting a new obsession lol
This video was great! Love this look! Also for the back to basic I think talking about color theory would be cool and a great starting point. Especially for those that have different color eyes and different skin tone, and complimentary colors to use. It’s hard to pick out makeup and once you do sometimes you wonder if you even bought “the right stuff for you”☺️
For the basics -- cheek techniques, where to place and suggestions on how to pair which color with eye looks. Would love a basics on contour and bronze. I like the suggestions for a flawless base!
Excited for “Back to Basics series!! I love to learn something new everyday!! Love love this look, this just maybe my look for tomorrow, this gives me Thanksgiving vibes or just anyway vibes!! Gorgeous❤
Suggestions for the "back to basics": how to pair the color cosmetics (eyeshadows, blushes and lips) and how to find the most flattering makeup for your face and eyes shape, regardless of the trends.
A Back-to-basics series would be amazing. I feel like I understand a few makeup techniques but have trouble knowing when to use them. I have an episode idea, "Five Bases for Five Occasions". It would be a great way to learn about and compare different ways of combining base products and methods to achieve looks. It would have useful information for makeup beginners and those more advanced. Either way I will definitely be loving the series! Xx
Happy Thanksgiving!! Not sure if Canada has Thanksgiving. I still wanted to let you know, how Thankful I am for you, and your sweet spirit. I love learning makeup techniques. It would be so helpful to get your take on stage makeup for The Nutcracker if anyone else is interested. All everyday tips are appreciated!!🤗💐🍁
Back to basics idea: maybe how to fix mistakes like how to tone down bronzer/blush, cleaning up a mascara smudge, eyeshadow fall out. you've taught me a lot of these methods and I think a beginner could appreciate these tips as it can be daunting to even play with makeup for fear of "messing it up". 💖
Hi Julia I loved the vid!! I would love if you made a video discussing your top favourite eyeshadow formulas. Maybe like if you could only keep 10 palettes or something like that.
Thoughts for back to basics topics: flawless base with different foundations (from tinted sunscreen to full), eye shadow looks, and cool/neutral looks. Maybe suggestions on how to change eyebrow styles/shape? You are so incredibly talented and I’ve enjoyed learning from you over the years. Thanks! 😊
For back to basic.. creams! Applying creams with powders. Cream bronzer, contour ect before concealer? Just anything base wise with creams. I really am trying to get into creams and I feel like application process and also brush options. Or just the type of brushes you'd want
A basics series would be great! I know there aren't necessarily "rules" with makeup, but I'd love an explainer on what the guidelines are in terms of what steps or products require an accompanying step or product to look right, if that makes sense? My question is kind of hard to explain lol. Like if you do X, you need to balance it out with Y kinda thing.
Adore this sexy, simple smoky eye Julia!!! my brown eyes will be a great fit for these tones, and i love the use of one's bronzer too... will help hit pan faster!🌺🙏❤🔥
Sorry I had to re-upload! I forgot to add some background music and it felt awkward 🫶🫶🫶
For the “back to basics” series I would love a series on how to get flawless base makeup! I definitely find this to be the hardest and could use a refresher on technique :)
also a color correcting situation would be amazing!
And acne scars or dark spots correcting! 🙏🏽💗
I'm not sure if this would count as part of the basics of makeup, but I would love to learn how you choose what colors go together for a makeup look!
Look into color theory!
I actually really like when you explain easy things extra detailed. I maybe don't need a series for basics, but basics included in a full look
Your hair - the color and length - is so stunning on you!
Back to basics series suggestion: start with a 5 min face/no make-up look with focus on talking about skin types/prep/ picking products, other basic principles. Ideas for back to the basics:
Base, cheeks, eyes, lips
Picking products for your skin type, what order to apply products, brushes and their purposes, shade matching tips, pairing colors/shades, how to work with your face/eye shapes
Yes, I get very overwhelmed with so many types of brushes!
A beautiful basic tutorial. You're so talented, and so gorgeous. And such a good teacher.

Yess! I love your ideas. Especially the one about tools. I’d love an in-depth guide to brushes.
I don't care for matte eyeshadow looks on myself, but this looks gorgeous on you and really brings out your eyes. Your eyes are so gorgeous, they look like a gemstone (not sure which one!) 😊
Just lovely! A back to basics on faces other than yours would be most helpful for older folks like me with hooded eyes and jowls.❤❤❤
For back to basics I would like to learn new techniques in eyeshadow
this look reminds me of your older smokey eye videos!! the reason i started watching you💕💕
Looove this eye look! For back to basics could you do a video on how to prevent your base from looking cakey/makeup-y? I feel like I still struggle with that sometimes.

Ooh maybe a doing your mom’s makeup. We’d love to meet the lady who raised such a sweet young lady and seeing how you do makeup on an older face.
