FENDER® BLUES JUNIOR™ III & HSS STRAT® | "Girth" | Fender

- Here's an American Standard HSS Stratocaster® guitar plugged directly into a Blues Junior III. The bridge-position humbucking pickup drives the amp hard, and the overdrive tone is accented by the liveliness of the Fender Special Design "Lightning Bolt" speaker by Eminence®. Listen for the optional single-button footswitch as it engages the Fat boost for a little extra girth.

that sound is so beautiful
If you dont know, he is playing the amp super loud! Check the settings. The reason this amp sounds good on this demo is because the amp is cranked up pretty damn loud. This is not bedroom or apartment level he's playing at. This is police banging on your door volume.
I used to own one of these Blues Junior amps - it sounded great in the bedroom; but use it in a band and it immediatly become apparent that it is very boxy and thin sounding especially if you are in a two guitar band.I ended up selling it and buying a Hot Rod Deluxe - a much better/fuller amp. for live gigging.
This amp sounds awesome when paired up to a second amp that will make up for the lack of bass this one has
DAMN!
@TeamXTREMEPANTERA My 5 watt tube Marshall smokes the crappy 65 watt solid state Laney that I head . It's got TONE and it's LOUD . So this 15 watt all tube Fender . Yeah , I am buying one . The two together during shows , mic-ed if necessary ... HEAVEN here I come
What an absolutely awesome tone.
What a pity I can never buy that axe.
You see I'm left handed and Fender are not interested in giving me what I need in an axe. So this guitar is not an option for me.
I wanted to part with up to £1,200 for a deluxe strat in HSS in left handed or a USA standard
@TeamXTREMEPANTERA the difference between an angel's voice and a wailing baby.
great video!! only thing is, you couldn't find any better name for this tone besides "girth"?? lol
Depends on the speakers - they typically make all the difference in the world, and solid state amps generally don't have great speakers in them.
@AnimosityGMC
Yeah I know what you mean but I wanted to buy an original and not have to modify it.
So that it was completely original and then if at some point in the future I wanted to trade up buy a custom shop model, I could get decent value back. I ended buying a mex strat and modding anyway, replaced the top nut with LSR roller nut, replaced the pickups with duncan calibrated mini humbuckers and replaced the machine heads with schaller locking and put strap locks on and got it set up.
what is 15W in a tube amp compared to a 100W solid state amp?
is that MOJAVE condenser mic ?
@KONCOLA
Oh, there are plenty of sounds I like, but my ears just tell me thumbs up or down when I hear things, and it's down for this:/ I'm wondering what humbucker that is, for one thing. And for another thing, those amp settings would generally seem to be a little less than lively, in my experience. So I'm pretty sure those are both factors... ~shrug~ :)
Controls is at 10,
This amp or a Champ XD?
I am very confused!
ya angus and malcom
I just bought this amp tonight and am ordering my billmaudio mods to fix the treble.
I bet you $1,000 that the treble in this clip was really set at 3 not 5.
Or else this dude is deaf now.
@chymist66
Hendrix it
@Jakeistoocool143 that must be joke. You can't compare solid state and tube.
Not even in terms of volume, even 15 watt tube can be louder than 75 Watt Solid State
Uh, tempo anyone?
maybe he just turned down the tone on his guitar
I dislike this sound very much:S
