  • Day 1 Winter Camping in Algonquin Park. Dec 2018
    I had a lot of fun on my last Winter Camping Trip, I drove up to Algonquin and spent 5 nights in the beautiful snow covered Park.
    The temperatures dropped down to -24 Degrees Celsius but that did not keep me from fully enjoying my time out there, I brought out heaps of great food and did lots of campfire cooking again.
    Don't forget to like and Subscribe :)
    Hope you enjoy and Happy Camping.
    Cheers.

      Have you heard of cooking in a pit all day, like a pig roast? You put coals underground, wrap your roast in foil and bury it all day. If ground is frozen, then last day of camping, dig out thawed dirt underneath where your fire was. Could be a fun challenge?

    • @HurlgoatHiker
      @HurlgoatHiker  5 лет назад +4

      @@MrIanJHoy My old neighbours use to do that, found it fascinating!

    An idea for you. Replace the rope on your sled with a 6 ft 1 1/2 “ wood dowel. Attach clips to each end for quick disconnect to your sled and to a belt on your waist. This lets you walk without having to hold your sled & stops the sled from running into you on hills.

    He's back!!!! Yes! Was just thinking of the PCT adventure you took us on and believe it or not, just came across (again) your winter camp from there before. That was my intro to you. I've never done the winter camping but I remember thinking....he knows how to cook some camping meals!
    Anyway, thanks for another great video. Looking forward to the others.

    Inside of the tent looks really cozy. I really want to try winter or fall camping. There is something about the cold and being alone in the wild. You can think amd meditate and be grateful. One day hopefully. Cheers, brother!

    Two new videos in one day! Lucky me! (and everyone else on Patreon :o) ) . I have to agree that steak is the best on an open fire, with roasted yams and potatoes - I love it when they are blackened and almost carmalized - delish! Great advice about the welding gloves! Only a welder would think of that lol
    Anxiously awaiting the next videos!
