In a pinch, if you have some tape (electrical or duct), you can wrap it around the threading on the mouth of your canteen to create a seal when you put the cap on Lilly. I'm so jealous, I grew up in the north, but live in the desert now. Winter camping was my favorite.
It always surprises me how many people want to focus on negative things, tell you what you're doing wrong, and what you should be doing instead. It's like they have no concept of how much it takes to put together a half hour video nor how much effort you put into what you do. There are a LOT of us that enjoy your videos, learn from them, and appreciate all your effort.
MichaelKingsfordGray I feel that constructive criticism and advice start with "Here's what I did in similar circumstances ... vs What you need to do is ...", but I do see your point. I was more referring to the comments that try to pull away from what Lilly has done. Such as 'one night is not survival', 'store bought beef is not survival', etc. She has videos up of her hunting, dressing, cooking on her other channel as well as a week stay in Canada on this one. Mostly, I just felt like those of us who appreciate what she does should say it more often, simply so that she knows and has that feedback as well.
Isaiah Woodsman yeh..yeh..yeh..thank you!. I was just going to post the same! I get so tired of the Debbie Downers..It!s like they don't watch to learn or enjoy....instead just to find that one thing to pick apart. Even How she eats her food. Lord, give me a break!!!'
@@izawoodsman excellent points! I haven't read through all the comments yet but I am sure her channel follows the same pattern I've seen on all the rest. There's just going to be some that can't focus on the positive. It's just how they view the world. I'm 54 and epileptic so i get to enjoy this vicariously through people that can actually trust their brain to function adequately so they wouldn't chop their finger, hand, or a chunk of leg off lol. I wish i could even TRY some of it but i satisfy myself watching her do it very well. Even the mess ups are well done because she is able. I have a different perspective though. I will definitely comment positively because i appreciate her videos.
Nice.camping videos ,you have excellant survival and camping skills .I love camping mine is not as extreme as yours but I have camped in some cold weather ,I enjoy your adventures Have fun and enjoy the great outdoors.
Another great video. I have no grandson, and SIX GRANDDAUGHTERS ages 6 to 15, and I show them your videos when they come over to visit. Thanks for being such a good inspiration. You have empowered them, and for that I am grateful. They see you out doing the things you do, and they love it, and want to get outside and do those things.
I think it’s really cool that you have a TIpi. I had the opportunity many years ago when I was a young man to sleep in a TP for several nights at a native American/mountain man gathering. The family who owned it had built it themselves out of traditional large pine poles and hand sewn campus. It was customized and you could see the smoky color on the canvas where it has been used many times. The man who owned it showed me how to arrange the polls when they were erecting it and how to open the flaps depending on the direction of the wind so that it would draft properly. If it’s very cold you only need to have a small gap at the bottom as little as a quarter of an inch roughly. His wife showed me how she arranged the fire in kind of an oval shape. One and was used for cooking and the other end was used for just heating the inside of the lodge. At night they would closed the flap a little bit to conserve the heat so they didn’t have to feed the fire during the night. I was blown away. One of the most clever inventions ever made by the native American tribes of the plains.
Lilly, you do not need the underground air intake as it is doing the same, exact thing as the liner does for you! However you have it so, use it but, if you ever move your tipi, you won't need to go to that extra work. Also, ALWAYS warm up your bows before you ever try to string them! In this case, the bow might not have broken if you had warmed it over the fire since it is freezing outside! Is that mold or lichen on the outside of your tipi? From the pictures it looks like it is! IF that is the case from leaving it up in the same location all the time, try to scrape it off and then douse it with lemon juice or vinegar to keep it from coming back! My wife and I lived in a tipi for 5 and a half months every year for over 5 years and we learned a lot about tipi living! Also, if you don't have a copy of Reginald and Gladys Laubin's book, the Indian Tipi, get one. It is a great book! They lived about 175 miles from me and lived in their tipis for many years! They were adopted Lakota Indians and studied ALL kinds of tipis for a great many years! It will give you a vast amount of information about the tipi and make living in one so much more fun and comfortable! I love your videos! Best wishes and keep living the dream! Did you really go off and leave the tipi door open?
Lilly, I'm so impressed with you. You are very knowledgeable and fairly fearless. As a sixty year old man you remind me very much of my thirty five year old daughter in many different ways. You search for new information, you're fearless, kind, gentle and not afraid of the typical things that men and women are hesitant to try. I have watched many of your videos, one of which was, recurve or compound bow. I agree with all that you said. One of the things you said was, the recurve bow is more fun but the compound was more accurate and easier to become proficient with. I agree, I just don't have near as much fun with the compound bows that I own and don't shoot anymore. I built my own laminated recurve bow in 1969. Shot my first deer with it three years later. Set records in high school with it in 1972 or 73 which stood for many years. I have owned more than sixty wood bows but only four or five compound bows. I also use different hand guns as well as long guns. You keep up the great work you do so well and I'll keep watching your videos that I do enjoy very much. It doesn't hurt that you're also very cute.
That was very enjoyable watching you go back in time. I was raised among native American plains Indians. And I love teepees. You are such a valiant and knowledgeable young woman. God bless you and keep you safe. Love from southern Indiana.
Hi I'm dale native cree from Saskatchewan, Read north to cree lake, it a great reference to living in northern Saskatchewan and trapping! Stay safe keep your powder dry! Your doing a good job. Pay no mind to people's negative comments I doubt they could last a month in the woods.
Fantastic video Lilly. When melting snow in your canteen cup, put a little water in the bottom, the snow will melt faster and you will avoid scorching your cup. US Army Special Forces retired.
If you haven't brought any with you, put a small amount in the canteen cup and quickly melt it in the fire. It won't be on long enough to scorch the cup or slowly melt it by putting near the warmth and do other things until it is melted. Then fill the rest with snow and proceed.
Lilly is awesome! Overcoming mistakes and rewarding yourself is so often overlooked in survival/outdoor tutorials. Also, her instructions are clear and easy to understand with real results! We need more instructors like her!
Good seeing you again Lilly, you put smiles on people's faces, especially when you first pulled out that beer.. You're very talented out there in the woods. I previously recommended your channel to a young lady who just had her first solo overnighter. Take care.
The reason the tipi has remained one of the greatest camping and living structures is because they are warm and comfortable in extreme conditions. The cold air comes into the tipi from under the outside cover but it doesn't come up over the inside liner because it runs into the warm air from the fire. This causes yet a third current of circulating air between outside cover and inside liner that works as well as a foot of insulation. I love how you know how to stand properly to split wood and live what you teach. I have seen many survivalists and campcraft videos where I just wondered how many people would watch them and then put an axe or swedge into their shin! Good video.
Lilly, I really enjoy your videos and admire your skills and self-reliance in the woods. What I like probably most of all is that you show some minor failures where tasks don't quite go as planned like the breaking of the alder when making a bow and getting your pack caught momentarily while exiting the tepee, true to life hiccups that lend a sense of reality to your adventures. Keep up the great job!
Once, my dad and I where in our tent trying to sleep after a day of walking under the rain in La venta canyon. Then we heard at the distance something like a snarling but we ignored it, after maybe half an hour we heard it again, this time sounded more like a panting and was closer. We obviously couldn't sleep, so we stayed awake and after 15 minutes or so, there it was again, except this time the sound was meters away from us, inside my dad had the gun we always take with us in his hand. Not gonna lie, I was scared af, but we stayed in silence and eventually the sound just disappeared. The next morning and to our surprise about 5 meters away from our tend, there were footprints of a Jaguar, and next to them, there were others but smaller, like it had offspring. Sorry if there are mistakes in my comment, I'm still practicing my English, greetings from México c:
Wow... great story... I would have waited until it was quiet, grabbed my Dad and ran like an Olympian ... I'd have won the gold medal in the 100 meters and my dad would have been a thousand of second behind me... ha ha... we've always been competitive when it comes to seeing who can outrun each other... I seldom pass him... l most certainly would have that day... sorry Dad... but .....
I've been living in teepees for a long time even in the snow and I've even slept right on the ground. But I usually have several elk hides under me or deer hides because their hair is Hollow and it insulates you from the ground. If you want to stay warm in the teepee it is design for you to sleep on the ground and your fire right on the ground not in a hole. That way you don't need air tunnels to keep it going you use your door. I do this the way the Indians do it that's how I learned by doing it. I do admire how you want to learn and want to experience this. Last note I think you did a good job.. when you start thinking this is my home, then things change things get better cuz you'll make them better. Good luck for now sincerely bear claw.
We missed you when you were sick and we send our thoughts and prayers for your continued good health. You are wonderful to watch and we learn so many tips from your videos.
She's not trying to be cool but still is. Always good to come across genuine people doing stuff that is of interest. Although there was a bit of a click-bait in her wild wolf video, but I won't hold it against her. I respect you being jovial and sharing your higher-end effort demanding interests Lilly. Especially with a past injury and other problems.

Hi Lilly, I'm a choctaw/cherokee and survival trained by the army. Very nice camp. your fire brick can keep you warm and your steak wrap was your spare seal :) I like to put a bungy around the wood before splitting. oh, one last thing I set a perimeter wire with pebble cans so I know when a weapon is needed. Stay safe fellow survivor...atg att peace
If you are Cherokee and Choctaw. Then you know the "Teepee" isn't good for this. It is literally a one night and at most 4 night thing used by neither tribes. How do I know you may ask is I'm a Marine and a Cherokee citizen.
Once, during the night in the forest, I awoke to hear a very strange and frightening noise right outside my tent. This was 25 years ago, but I remember it well - I can only describe it as an unearthly snarling combined with panting breath. I lay still for a few minutes hoping that whatever terrifying blood-thirsty beast was making it would go away, but it didn't - so, very quietly, I picked up my hatchet and unzipped the tent door before flicking on my flashlight... and found that, while cooking my dinner on the fire, I had dropped a couple of sausages, which were being torn to shreds by a hedgehog.
Same thing happened years ago on a family camping trip. Except I never got out to investigate, everyone was asleep, and I was scared asf. Now when I get ask to go camping, I get PTSD like symptoms with dreams of being trap in a tent with monsters like bigfoot, demon bears, chupacabras, zombies, slender man, and the occasional ghost standing outside of the tent.
Recently woke up to a weird barking in the middle of the night. Sounded 30 feet away or so. Never saw what it was but it was probably a coyote, which bark when threatened. I think they stumbled on my tent and motorcycle and didn't know what else to do but bark and try to scare it off. A little spooky. Of course the pistol I had was in a box on the moto.
Hey Lilly, I was taught to split wood by not chopping straight down, which can stick the axe. I was taught to bring the axe down and ending the chop at about a 30 degree angle which sort of pushes the split sideways in the direction of the edge of the blade. The axe doesn't stick as bad and in good straight grained wood the wood cracks open like a nut. Learned the trick from old timers who used wood as their primary heat source all their lives, as I have done for as long as I can remember. I'm 67 now. Try it.
Having built my own tipi several years ago, I loved seeing this winter overnighter and missed mine. Love your videos and look forward to your next one.
Also I'm watching this with my girlfriend and we really like your honesty like the losing the seal for your water canteen most people would have edited that out to make it look like they were infallible it makes your videos much better then most on RUclips, we can't believe we didn't know your channel existed till today
Just had some snow in the uk brought the whole country to a halt ! I have worked outdoors all my life and know about back pain. No fun. So look after yourself and treat your self to another dog no better companion. Keep up the good work eat more steak drink more beer stay happy best wishes N
I had my first camping night around 12, in a farm small forest. There has been rather spooky noise in the night. I woke up, turn my flashlight on and unzipped the tent door. 2 big luminous eyes were staring at me. 2 big cow eyes.
@@triskalion9627 There's a mythbuster episode about bull in a china store that you may want to look at. Those animals are anything but clumsy and they don't walk into things.
Yes....... Bad-A$$ video. I love that you show skills during the Overnighter. Putting it all together, This is how it should be, not just talking about free gear that people sent you......JMHO
I totally agree with you Corporal corner some of these guys are like an infomercial showing all there equipment that was given to them and taking like a half an hour to thank their sponsors it's ridiculous but Lily gets down to the nitty-gritty and makes it look easy and enjoyable great video Lily I've been watching you for a year it's the first time I've left a comment
I somehow managed to end up watching Girl in the woods and her video about you. Satire. It was absolutely brilliant. And , I noticed that you liked it too. I sometimes watch these outdoors videos and you're one of the best. These days there're soooo many to choose from , but you are my Nro.1 girl. 🖒
Lilly!! Your living my dream!! I’ve always wanted to stay in a teepee, but I don’t know how to build one. Even if I did, I lived in California near the beach, there is no where to build a teepee in Orange County, California. I live way out in the woods now, in north west Arkansas, but I’m an old lady now, I can’t build a teepee anymore. You are so adorable Lilly, truly a sweet and beautiful young lady. I do that when I eat something really good, I’m glad you share so much with us. Thank you Lilly, thank you and God bless you. ❤️🙏🏼
Ive never used an open fire tipi before, looks like a great design. Looks like you guys got a nice bit of snow too. For a person with a previous back injury you swing that axe like a boss! I just came back from a 3 day winter camp as well, Im not as graceful as you but I get er done!
Hi Nate, The fire and tipi design work well together, however the tipi will get very cold when the fire goes out. A more closed tipi and oven like you have is certainly more convinient. Cant wait to watch your video about the camping trip :)
You're very courageous to go off like this, alone into the woods, as a woman. I like how you explain things too. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. With us. All the best to you, always! 💖💖💖
"Let's see what we have to start a fire today" .. I love it!! Ha ha. I also loved how you washed your hands with the snow after clearing the air tunnel for the fire pit. And knowing to stack the wet wood around the edges to dry, but also using them to hold your cook grid.. Just about everything Lilly!! You're awesome!! A girl that is down to earth, normal, & ok with reality, & NOT prissy is so rare now a days here in the United States.. It's a VERY attractive character you have, so keep doing your thing & never change a thing!! It was very informative to see how it is in the tee-pee with the fire🔥going.. That answered all my questions seeing it. Another curiosity I have is how to identify which mushrooms are ok to eat. I remember you picked some to cook in your favorite shelter, & you know how.. It's so hard to learn from reading without knowing the terms.. I think a good video showing what you look for up close on the mushroom would help.. If you have the time when they bloom please think about that for a video..? Thank you for all you are.. 😎
Me: there is something comforting and romantic about the sound of snow under foot. Also me: 30, lives in northern Australia, has never seen snow and thinks anything under 25 degrees is way too cold. 😂
That's insane. I couldn't imagine living in a place like that. It's probably brimming with brown snakes. Fuck that. Where I live, in Northern Idaho, we have way more snow than this in the mountains . Mid winter, the snow level would be 12 feet, This teepee would be buried.
The information in this video is amazing. Your a great camper and I am staying impressed with each video so far. Outstanding Lilly. Outstanding. That teepee rocks!!
In the old days, we Girl Scouts would roll heated rocks wrapped in towels into our sleeping bags. We were awfully dirty but stayed warm and had a great time.
Its also done by people in dire need...I remember when my dad was laid off and the lights got turned off. I was a kid and it was great going without TV and lights but it was cold AF at night because our heater was electric. We still had gas service so mom would put bricks into the oven on low early of a morning and leave them there until bedtime then take them out and wrap them in sheets or towels and tuck our blankets in at the bottom and stuff the covered bricks way down at the feet. It was nice and toasty. If your feet are cold, you'll never get warm.
This was recommended to me by a Korean OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor) because the chi is much better and more healing from the stone. (Chi =energy). Be carefull when heating them because if there is trapped water in the stone it can explode while heating it and it can harm you. Once you have a stone that can be heated to sizilling hot, you can be sure it is safe and can use it over and over. Wrap the hot stone in seveeral layers of a thick towel and bind it up securely with cord so that it won't burn your skin. The towel also allows the heat to slowly radiate out during the night and is still comfortably warm in the morning. You don't have to be camping to enjoy the therapeutic heat from a stone.
I never click on long videos but I watched every second of this one with a big grin. You took me back 45 years to my Boy Scout youth. 👍👍👍👍 Maybe a compact water filter next time. Keep making wonderful inspirational videos!! Hopefully some young people will follow your lead and GET OUTSIDE !!
nice Lilly. I had the same mystery monster noises on trips before... & they turned out to be snow falling just like yours... the most fearful monster is the imagination, most times.
I heard noises similar to that and was CERTAIN it was an animal approaching my camping trailer. I stepped outside to investigate, and still worried it was an animal approaching. . . I discovered it was giant oak leaves falling to the ground. I never felt so dumb and relieved at the same time.
I was camping in a cedar grove during a big storm , wild and exciting ... I was calm though, swinging in my hammock enjoying the familiar noises, certain that that noise was trees rubbing together ... branches slapping a trunk in the wind, rain coming and going. nothing to worry about . that intent scrutiny i sensed must be my imagination , right? ya that's what i was thinking... till it huffed at me and stomped the ground ! then the ice cold chill slid down my back. I felt like a meat burrito hanging there all of a sudden . but I huffed back growling savagely ... the silence was deafening after that . I spent the rest of the night waiting for the ambush I knew would never come... we have black bear , wolves & cougar on Vancouver Isl. It wasn't a cougar ... wolf is most likely by the sound... ? but who knows ... I call that one " camp Sasquatch " I lay there telling my self about the poor misunderstood Sasquatch who broke into my camp to borrow my carving tools and take shelter from the gale, meaning no harm .It made me laugh to much for worry I fell asleep and dreamt peaceful dreams. that's why I said most times it's the imagination Jared
I'll admit to near heart failure from black tail dear before but not this one... the huff & stomp sounded very canine but less likely maybe a bear . i surprised it , i was out of place somewhere it was familiar with. but it did not sound aggressive. because of the heavy rain... no tracks in the morning. so i call it a sasquatch for fun. the sound of dear hooves is hard. & the sound they make is higher pitch... Big leaf maple has fooled me before as well... big heavy leaves they sound like a stalking ...? something. :) sound identification is fun & it brings peace of mind when you can rule out most of them...
Lilly, Next time the leaking water bottle hits you simply take a piece of plastic bag like the one your steak came in and put it over the top and screw the lid down onto it, You might have to double the plastic but it works like a charm. Love the vids keep em comn........
Hey moron learn to read would you...I said a bag LIKE the one on her steak came in i did not say to use that bag and if she wanted to all she would of had to do was boil a small piece of the plasctic for a min....and Next time you want to spout off like a child learn how to understand simple English.....
I'm 69 yrs old now , but I remember when I was camping in the wilderness in Canada , in Lake of the Woods , when I was much younger with a companion , we camped for almost one year ,, it was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time ,, I heard wolves in the distance and saw beavers and moose , etc, and many wild birds ,,, I will never forget those times , they were amazing , and showed me a lot about survival, I think everybody should experience the wilderness at least once in their life time and go with someone that understands the wilderness , and how to survive ,,, In any case , I think I envy you now ,feeling that freedom, , but you are young , enjoy it while you can ,, wish you the best in all things and take care of your back , always ,, this was nice to watch , brought back many interesting memories ,, I use to fish and hunt and make snares ,,
Lilly you have inspired this girl to do what she wants and prove people wrong.I have watched your videos for such a long time. I actuality look a lot like you to! I love you so much and what you do. #inspiring_girls_since_2011_and_before
That really a lot of snow on the teepee you have to clear. Love how you made the opening in the top! Your wood chopping skills is pretty good! Yes you got to take care of and protect your back! Was amazed how dark it was in the teepee. Love your lanterns! I never would have thought of making air tunnels for the fire. Thanks for sharing! Good fire! The Steaks look good😊!! Too bad about the bow😢! Snow covered up the tracks of possibly of your animal visitor. Enjoyed thus video!!
Been there, done that in the last two and a half years as a homeless person, not a camper. I have a room these days. But amazingly I always had videos or WiFi (from McDs).
Good video. I cringed when you put the cooked beef back on the plastic wrapper. The raw meat can have some very interesting germs, and might have been transferred back unto your cooked dinner. Just an observation. Beautiful teepee, and Forest. Thanks. Eric, Rocky Mount, Missouri, USA.
Eric Adolphson , yeah, I was startled when the meat 🥩 went back on the original packaging. Best to avoid. Could use bottom of package instead or just pack a paper plate. C diff or E. coli no fun.
Sounds in the night...brings back two memories...first, camping during a blizzard in Colorado, early in the morning, I started hearing a kind of a swooshing noise, later to find it was a build up of snow sliding off my nylon fabric tent! The other time was soon after climbing in our tent we heard snuffling noises...looked out the tent door to see a skunk about 4 feet away, looking for something to eat. Quietly closed the door and pretty soon he left! Ha ha.
Great job on the Tepee , wintered well. You did a great job show your self in action and the tepee from outside with the fire aglow! I am looking forward to showing your videos to my granddaughters when the are a little order (ones 2 the other 6 months). Fun, inspiration and education with a woman in the wilderness.
Your night visitor, critter, reminds me of a time when my husband & I were primitive tent camping and heard something shuffling around nearby in the dark of night. What a dilemma, tent had no rear exit 😄. We thought even if we could get to the car there might not be time to unlock it before whatever it was got there. Well the critters making noise turned out to be someone’s hunting dogs looking around our cook stove for a snack. Funny now but not then.
I'm Native American (Arapaho). I could give you a couple tips on setting up a teepee. You did do a good job on setting it up. I've set up a lot of teepees over the years.
Use walking sticks too helps with balance. Snow makes good insulation. You need to build yourself a little table for meals. We go camping at a friends farm while we are there we pile firewood up in a little shelter so we have wood ready for a fire. We also have to remember in warmer weather to beat the woodpile for snakes
Awesome video Lilly, really like the wood chopping bit and the snow, I love snow! Also i chop wood with my dad sometimes so it was cool seeing the technique you used with the axe, please keep making more great videos :P.
I biked (bicycle) to Arizona from North Carolina back in 1981. I had just got out of the Marine Corps. I camped out in various areas along the way. It was pretty much uneventful except for one night in Pennsylvania. During the night I heard someone walking around my tent. There were leaves everywhere so I could easily hear someone approaching. I would get up and leave my tent to face the intruder. There was no one there. This kept going on for most the night. It was very unnerving. I managed to get a little sleep. In the morning I checked to see if my bike was still there. I couldn't see anything wrong. It kinda spooked me. Then I heard someone walking on the leaves again. I turned to face the intruder. Ha! It was two squirrels. One would scurry for a couple of feet then stop. Then the other would do the same. It sounded like someone walking on leaves. I'm not sure but I think these two squirrels did it on purpose.
Pennsylvania is not even close to being on the way between Arizona and North Carolina. Its several hundred miles to the north above North Carolina. Arizona is Southwest, like on the way to California. I dont understand how you would end up that far away. Like heading to Florida from California and ending up in Canada.
I think that squirrels do not walk during night time. Furthermore I think that vegetarian creatures do not walk at night time at all in the forest, simply because they are prey animals. Only predators are super active at night time. That's who was walking around..
Excellent video Lilly! You and Joe Robinet do the best bushcrafting videos on the internet!! Both very unique and informative in their own way. Your presentation of the material is superb! Two thumbs up!
Another great video about surviving in the cold weather ! I use to camp in the mountains when it went down to about 10 degrees farrenheit, so a good goose down sleeping bag and wool blanket are a must but you must take off all your clothes for the warmth of your body to heat things inside your bag.. I know that's hard to do when it's so cold out but that's how the Eskimos do it in Alaska and myself and it works. Just keep your clothes inside your bag so the next morning when you dress, your clothes are warm. Take Care- Eagle Eric from the USA
Thankfully where I live(Queensland Australia) there is no such thing as snow, but unfortunately the wood is rarely even half as soft as pine or birch. Only gum, and harder still red gum nothing as soft as what you have. Pine and birch are like cutting butter in comparison. Only paperbark(melaleuca) is soft wood and has bark that can help with fire.
Lilly - I think you should talk to people about how you deal with human waste in both winter and summer because it is an important part of being good to the earth.
You dig a hole in the ground and shit in it, if you plan on shitting near where you eat and sleep. If you're out for the stroll you take a shit where you are. Gotta pee? Dirt loves that shit. Deal with human waste just like every other animal deals with it in the wilderness.
Humans are of the earth, therefore our shit is just as natural as any other animal species. It's generally good advice to not shit where you eat though.
I’m off grid and made a video about that! You’re right, important part in being good to the earth, and most of the world is so disconnected to environmentally-friendly practice.
You know it's cold outside when the water freezes and turns everything white. I just wonder where all of that white goes when it warms up. If I could find a way to save the warm white for summer heat reflectivity, I could cool the house without air conditioning by 20 to 30 degrees F°.
This looks very fun! Thank you for all the good tips and advice. It's such a good experience when you camp on your own sometimes, and enjoy the peace of nature.❤
Gotta spend more than one night in the teepee though. I used to sleep in them all the time and would sleep right on the ground using a teepee floor. Night 1 would be a bit cold, but, the following nights would be perfectly warm. Having a fire going all day, it warms up the ground in the teepee and makes it so you sometimes don’t even need a blanket on. Super comfortable.
Great video, you are a brave and knowledgeable woman, your showing how to NOT hurt your self with wood cutting is great also. Thanks best in all you do!
Ahoy Lilly. A Tepee in a winter wonderland ... what else do you need? Yes i know ... a warm campfire inside ;-). Thanks for documenting your trip in the woods. Stay healthy. Greetings from the pirate. Azze
this right here is relationship goals, a woman who likes to go out in the woods isn't afraid of a bit of work, can build a fire, and wants to build a bow at night in snow haha. well done keep it up always cool to see people go out of their way to spend time in nature away from technology and participate in a bit of discomfort.
It's a struggle I tell you ... Had to put a catchy term behind it like pioneer days ... The 8 year old enjoyed the dehydrated snacks at least .... And after making the fire the male counter part at least tried to bring A piece of wood over to it ... I can tell you this much men will freeze to death and starve before a woman will ...
Hey Lilly my name is John just wanted to tell you that was an and awesome video I can't wait till I buy some land because I am going to build me a teepee! I'm in Huntsville Alabama I love your channel you're doing a great job!
John Wiley I agree. I am about an hour south of you. A friend has one on his property in Georgia and swears by it. I'm thinking that I will put one up soon on my place.

I've broke a few bows the same way. Broke a spoon that I was carving just the other day.

Nice.camping videos ,you have excellant survival and camping skills .I love camping mine is not as extreme as yours but I have camped in some cold weather ,I enjoy your adventures

As Zig Ziglar said... We don't need LESS kids. We need more kids by the right people.
It is good that you show your failures as well as your many successes. Honesty with your viewers is so important. Good job!

Gaurav Rai: Nice; U try to exploit her hard work to promote your channel. Why don’t you just take that comment down and do better?
Did you really go off and leave the tipi door open?
much respect to you Lilly, you're a much needed inspiration. No fear and INTO the WILD. Keep wandering girl! x
Meanwhile, if you ever find yourself in southern Wisconsin, USA, I would love to give you a hug.
Love this comment, Lilly is wonderful :) Hope you'll do a meet up, if you make it to the west coast USA, too!

US Army Special Forces retired.
interesting
Where you ment to get the water from if you not melted it yet
If you haven't brought any with you, put a small amount in the canteen cup and quickly melt it in the fire. It won't be on long enough to scorch the cup or slowly melt it by putting near the warmth and do other things until it is melted. Then fill the rest with snow and proceed.
She should also avoid yellow snow
Thank you for your cervix
Good video.
I know nothing of living or staying in a Tepee so this was very interesting. Thank you for sharing.

@@rhllnm Yea that coyote coulda got your pistol and turned it on you.Really luck you are!

Good advise on working with injuries and/or pain. You accomplish just about everything , you just have to be careful about it.

Great overnighter Lilly, that teepee is awesome!
That was done by folks with horse drawn wagons. Fine idea !!!! 👍

Lotta energy....camping is hard work but fun ... love your channel lilly .
Maybe a black-tailed deer? They like to come out of cover when it's raining or at night, and in your situation, you had both.
You have mule lips!

Ha ha.

vernon.blankenship54.vb@gmail.com Blankenship Vernon, do it! Make a response video, and show us all how it's done. Please.
Interesting if you made a video
I live in Pennsylvania and love the woods there isn't anything that would hurt you unless you got between a sal and her Cubs
Something ain't right about your story, learn geography !
That's nuts!
Said the squirrels
I think that squirrels do not walk during night time. Furthermore I think that vegetarian creatures do not walk at night time at all in the forest, simply because they are prey animals. Only predators are super active at night time. That's who was walking around..
Excellent video Lilly! You and Joe Robinet do the best bushcrafting videos on the internet!! Both very unique and informative in their own way. Your presentation of the material is superb! Two thumbs up!
Yes Survival Lilly great meal well deserved enjoy it with your beer.
Lily that tepee looks like it did well and kept you warm, well done! 👍🙂👍
Do what the bears do do.
@@ktloz2246 do what the bears do...grab a rabbit and wipe it's ass with it, Lol😎
I’m off grid and made a video about that! You’re right, important part in being good to the earth, and most of the world is so disconnected to environmentally-friendly practice.
Nice to see a winter tipi,my Dad owned a tipi business and I have been in one at temps in the teens in the winter, nice and cozy.
You know it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold
Can’t argue with that😂
LOL!
You know it's cold outside when the water freezes and turns everything white. I just wonder where all of that white goes when it warms up. If I could find a way to save the warm white for summer heat reflectivity, I could cool the house without air conditioning by 20 to 30 degrees F°.
yet another great video love watching them all you very brave lady
Sasquatch? Remember the big reflective eyes looking at your camp recently? Whatever`s out there I hope you identify it.
This looks very fun! Thank you for all the good tips and advice. It's such a good experience when you camp on your own sometimes, and enjoy the peace of nature.❤
Good overnighter, quite enjoyable
"I dont want to get out of my sleeping bag, aww ". A priceless lilly moment.
That pack! My goodness, that is a serious piece of gear.
WHY should anybody dislike this video? Come on... really ... why? Makes no sense at all
Rude children
Great video, you are a brave and knowledgeable woman, your showing how to NOT hurt your self with wood cutting is great also. Thanks best in all you do!
That was awesome! I love your overnighters so much!!! And now i really want a steak ;) xxx
Love camping in the winter time as well but never slept in a Tepee. More winter videos would be great and how to make the lights you have with you.
This was just so cool to watch. Enjoyable and a little educational.
Thank you Survival Lilly!!
Ahoy Lilly. A Tepee in a winter wonderland ... what else do you need? Yes i know ... a warm campfire inside ;-). Thanks for documenting your trip in the woods. Stay healthy. Greetings from the pirate. Azze
Bruh, lily just casually sitting next to a wasps nest.when i see a wasp im instantly 500 feet away
this right here is relationship goals, a woman who likes to go out in the woods isn't afraid of a bit of work, can build a fire, and wants to build a bow at night in snow haha. well done keep it up always cool to see people go out of their way to spend time in nature away from technology and participate in a bit of discomfort.
I've never seen a woman make this kind of video. Refreshing. Nicely done!
B. Stone Agreed.
Look up A Girl in the Woods You Tube Channel, she is awesome too
Thanks for the 411, I definitely will.
Thanks Lilly! Always informative.
Great presentation. Caution do not chop wood when it’s dark outside. This is a quick way to harming yourself.
God bless.
