Bushcraft is a skillset. It's not mandatory as a bushcrafter to go naked to the woods and trying to survive. To do that every week is a unrealistic fantasy. The way I see it, bushcraft skills make hiking and camping more efficient, lightweight and interesting... and not to forget FUN!.
In many bushcraft channels there are few videos of pure bushcraft and the rest are advertisements for pans, knives, tents, backpacks ... It looks like a f**** teleshopping! This channel is art !!!
I love these bushcraft videos. I learned so much, yet they are peaceful because no one is talking, there's no music playing. and the scenery is always beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous. Well done sir. Really enjoyed seeing the different shelter systems, and how you made fire each time. Great stuff. And the lack of music is PERFECT.
The bow saw trick was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. I’ve done bush craft stuff since the 1960s and could kick my own butt for never thinking of this before. As always another great video, well done.
Beautifully made video mate...winter is coming round again, the rain will stop and the snow will start and I can go camping again. I get a lot of ideas from your videos, you have a great take on camp craft. No music, no talking and sublimely well filmed...I thank you for it.

I'm in hospital getting chemo for lukemia. Your videos are better than any meds being pumped into me. Seriously, the nurses ask what I'm watching, I say natural blood pressure reducer...
Great video yet again! Knowing that you were hungry in this whole thing made me really think about survival. Kudos to you, sir! It looked brutal and for once I was not thinking I’d love to be out there. Many many thanks and heaps of blessings to you my friend, Nikki.
Thank you Nikki! Yes it was pretty horrible actually. Snow and temps going up and below freezing point is the worst weather to camp in really. But it was interesting to learn how difficult things get, that I normally do without even thinking about it, even after just one day without food.
I have to agree. It seemed as though he failed at the fishing part and gave up, so where was the "hot food" part? ... Did you watch the entire video? He never ate, just was drinking pine tea starting small fires and freezing his ass off
The knots in the #36 bank line is ingenious. This is one hard core way to check your bushcraft/survival skills. I like testing myself now and again but I don't think I would have the cajones to do it this way. You got my respect and admiration, man. Well done!
Really like the idea of the bow saw, Im gonna have to remember that when I go out as something for my day pack or even my 3 day pack to keep from adding extra weight with the frame.
Thank you James. Yes that is a detail I see missing a lot of the times when people do the Nying type of fire on RUclips. When its not ideal condition you really needs the space for air flow for at least 20 minutes before they collapse down and keep going burning slower without just being a smoke signal...
@@Swedwoods Yes talking cost much Energy often for nothing. And teacher are alone in Front of Class i think thats Not too good with more then 4 children... Have fun and Take Care!

No words in this video.......like a picture.......your video paints a Thousands WORDS. Cold video, but a lot to learn from. Excellent. Regards from California, USA.
Had it been me, I would have made my shelter first and stock piled some firewood. had I thought to take cooked prawns for bait, I would have put in something for myself to eat. Definitely not sat in an open area and got cold until dark then looked for shelter. If I had a fishing line in my survival kit would also take snare wire. As I watched my fire I would also be melting snow to top up my water bottle. Taken meat cubes instead of coffee which is a diuretic, would rather have the salt than having an almost instant full bladder. but that is just me. I envy your time in the wild, the sounds, views and solitude. Thank you for the video.
A lot of people think this was survival. But it wasn't. What you talk about of course is the right thing to do in an emergency. But this was just a rough camping trip to try things I was curious about. And I have to do things for the camera of course...Survival is probably pretty boring...since you can survive on just water, staying warm and not move much for about 50 days...LOL

Im not a fan of these "talk to much and show you what we had to eat videos" that are all too common in this genre of film, So it was a delight to watch your experience, Also it showed the reality of survival. If you had to "bug out" for real you might not have food and all the prepared comforts of a planned nite under the stars. Well done thoroughly enjoyable silent bushcraft.
I agree with the reality check on "bugging out." As skilled as this guy no doubt is, if he or nearly all of us interested in survival/bushcraft leave for the woods without a large cache of food and the know-how to restock, we are most likely going to starve to death. Food availability is highly seasonal (a week of raspberries here, a couple weeks of apples there, etc) with next to nothing for about 6 straight months around here during winter/spring unless you are hunting/fishing. If you preserve/can and cache, and are an excellent tracker/hunter/marksman with a high-powered rifle you might make it until you're taken down by a cavity or skinned knee that goes septic. Otherwise we are dead in the first 2 weeks, no matter how nice the lean-to.
All these survival/bushcraft videos are so dang fascinating and teach a lot.. Like i never really knew how to make a legit fire with just wood until now.. even damp wood.. let alone with a striker..I would usually have a torch and a big wad of paper,,cheers.
