Bushcraft Trip - Wooden Rocket Stove Without Drilling - Traditional Swedish Woodsman Cooking

  • Out on a day hike with some bushcraft, fishing and cooking. 10C in January. Last time I was disappointed. But now I think its more like..scary. Seems like nature is skipping winter at 59 degrees north this year. Well nice to be able to walk around freely without regulating clothing anyways. Made a bowsaw and tried a new idea how to make a wooden rocket stove. Finished off with a dish called "Kolbulle" in Swedish. It's a traditional dish used by men working in the woods in Sweden. Its flour, salt, salted pork and water. Served with lingonberry jam. So simple. So good. Thanks for watching!

too much effort just to prepare simple dinner, that's why (no offence). from cutting log, splitting, carving and etc. how long does time wasted for that? 2 hours? half day? 3/4? whole day? I'd prefer simple can wood stove, collect twig around and cut to require length, much easier. Anyway, if everyone prefer something easy, what's the fun of doing harder way of meal preparation? right?

Swedwoods Your body movement and the way you observe what you are doing reveals a great degree of mindfulness in what you are doing . This is real meditation more over when you do it without any interest or agenda “Only for fun” I also do a lot of Kayak Mindfulness Trip to the Everglades In Florida without any intention only with my mind fixed in the wildlife and in my fishing rod.

I think the video makes me want to visit Ikea to buy some Lingonberry Preserves. I have spent a few nights in the woods and he does it how it is supposed to be done: left no trace but enjoyed it to the max! He really added to the fresh air he was in; added fresh wood smoke, fishing, woodcraft, fantastic scenery and running water, leaving no trace, bacon and bannock, good packing skills. Time to get my boots on: I need to get out there!

Some very fine flowing water imagery in this one. AND two great tips: attaching a saw blade to a forest made bow when you don't have a drill or awl and the forest made stove system. Then there was the shot of the shelf fungus on a tree...with very good depth of field.
