    The big difference is that the toy grade is meant to be disposable. They tend to be designed with basic features without a large investment for a young age group. When I was young I grew up with toy grade RC cars and they quite durable. But when something did break, that was the end of it.

      Well said brother , you can by hobby grade for £26 like my brave also Wltoys do hobby grade for less than a 100 , he basically has just advertised for Traxxas didn't say nothing about proportional steering or proportional speed with the toy grade and hobby grade, also different batteries between the both, your right because there is well better toy grade cars out there, hes picked a baby's rc , rant over lol 😀

    I used to race R/C cars and always thought of Traxxis as a "toy" type. But now that I think of it I suppose Traxxis is hobby grade. The cars I raced were above that. I used to race a 1/8 nitro car in the 80's, it was a Serpent Excel. And about 10 years ago I was racing a Losi XXX-NT.
    But I have been looking at drones recently. A toy grade drone is all I need. Even some of those get fairly sophisticated. I recently got a little one that fits in my hand, (my 1st drone). It's called the "Sky Beetle". I'm having fun with it and developing my skills on it. These little ones are probably harder to fly smoothly than larger outdoor models.

  • @DC-ik4tl

    I've only been into the hobby grade rc's for a little over a year now. So I consider myself new. Started out with 1/10 scale crawler. Fell in love with em right off the bat. For any one that spent their youth building models, they would love hobby rc's. What my wife liked best is that when the servo went out on mine. I was able to shop around on the net and find an even better one to replace it with and not spend a lot of money. Unlike the department store models where your just flat out of luck when a something breaks.

    • @rodneydonnell9896
      @rodneydonnell9896 4 года назад

      No so my friend! Just because a toy grade rc breaks doesn't mean it has to be trashed. Some of those toy grade rc's have close to the same dimensions as their counterparts so its just a matter of being a little creative to make a hobby grade part fit to keep from trashing it. And besides, its kinda cool to see something that's meant to run at a snails pace get overhauled to run at blistering speeds. Give it a try!!

    good video but I'd have used one of the 10th or 8th cars you can get on ebay for between $60 AND $120 as the toy grade, as they look like say the traxxas or associated cars etc but as it's a no name car you can't get the parts or if you can it's mail order and not from your local hobby store, my recommendation is see what people are racing at their local clubs or what brands they race and buy something of the same brand or just ask at your local hobby store before you make your purchase as they will be the people in the know

    Traxxas is over priced junk. They stong arm the little guy business too. They go after You Tube review channels threatening them with lawsuits if they ever compair Traxxas with another brand. I will NEVER buy their products. Losi is much better. Show basic RC planes, entry level, not Jets if you are trying to get people into the hobby. Not a good Video in my book. At least suggest a Simulator first before flying. Also mention joining a local RC flying club . How many kids are now wanting an RC jet as their first RC plane?

      Hahaha. You just don't even know that RC hobby is only for adults and teens!!! More money, better. Faster is better. Clubs also don't accept anyone under 13, regardless of any "parental consent". You fucking HAVE TO be at least 13-14 years old to even think about getting into RC hobby - and any other hobbies!!!

      sharon smith and the term rc car has multiple versions like toy grade: most of them are slower an most of them have no suspension. And you have hobby grade: fast, with suspension, can go farther distinces. Also hobby grade has more then fast offroaders. You have onroad race cars, drift cars, crawlers, etc. You wont find them as toy grade that easily.

Traxxass made extra cheap preassembled rc's and pushed them into hobby houses to catch the budget buyers, which flooded the industry. If you don't believe me do your own research. @@mushyzachman7731 unfortunately they are in hobby stores and yes now there are aftermarket and replacement parts but they didn't start out that way and I would encourage people to not support a company that cheapend up the industry like traxxass did. Regardless of what they've evolved into. And unfortunately their business model worked so well that it forced all other rc manufacturer's to follow suit. So it's not just on traxxass but on the people who support them and if people want cheap junk to play with that's fine but I won't support it and I would encourage everyone to do the same if they have integrity. The hobby has suffered because of it even if sales are up the hobby has gone down hill since and it's a shame. I could go on but I digress, if you want it to be a specialty thing then not everybody can be in the club because there's just not enough to go around and it just devalues what you have and forces the manufacturers to make things cheaper and less durable. So yes Traxxas is toy grade and the should have stayed in their own lane and neither you or I should support them or anyother company that cheapens their customers value.

      Everybody can race toy grade cars, everything can be raced as long as more than one vehicle is present. Traxxas users race the slash in friendly races at their local track but that does not make them hobby grade, not even close. I am talking about licensed EFRA/IFMAR vehicles. Those vehicles are hobby grade cars that are solid, reliable and fast racing platforms. I am not familiar with traxxas history but to my knowledge they did not win a single world/european on/off
      road championship between the years 2006-2017. That is because they sell only rtr vehicles that are poorly designed on purpose so that they break and people invest more money over time for spare parts. Traxxas vehicles are slightly above toy grade. Every decent RC club driver will tell you this because it is the truth.
