Great video - you piqued our interest & I found this same model on Amazon. Should be delivered by 10 p.m. today. Even though you couldn't recommend it at this time, we can't wait to start building!
Are there any good xmods alternatives? I have an hsp 1/10th scale nitro truck but it needs complete new radio and servos etc and im not certain i will like the hassle of nitro so i wanna start small. Any tips?
You could look at a Mini-Z. That’s the best hobby grade car of this size by far. ARRMA has the Grom and Grom Typhon which look pretty cool. They’re smaller and RTR. If you’re open to crawlers the Redcat Ascent is literally one of my favorite little rigs right now and it’s under 150 bucks. It depends on your budget but there are a lot of options. If you go for a mini z don’t do the “first” series. Those are basically toys.
Alright i will definitely look into mini z. I got the the truck for free years ago but i feel like im more pulled to the drift rc cars. I will probably only know when im hands on though! Anyhow thanks for the advice and the great review!
@@Bash_TheStampede i looked it up and im definitely very interested in the mini-z. The price is high though and imo too high for me to comfortably buy a mini-z as first rc car. I've found a comparable rc car to mini-z online that is 1/4th the price and from reviews it looks really good as a starter kit. The car in question is from WLtoys. Everything is also upgradable to aluminium and carbon. Decided to sell my nitro truck and get the wltoys k969 or 989. Ill put the rest aside for either upgrades or if its not good enough but i do like it then i will go for mini-z. Thanks again for the advice! I'll try to remember to come back to this comment when ive got it in and found out if this is for me!
Yes you can. It has a 2.4 GHZ radio so you can race quite a few simultaneously. Im not sure the exact number but it’s more than you’ll likely ever have to worry about. Hundreds in some cases if I recall correctly.
I haven’t tried the k989 yet but I’ll bet it performs better! Would be cool if the hex mods was as good as the old X Mods were. That was my hope for it anyway haha. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I hope you enjoy it!
For the amount of parts you get I think that alone makes this worth it!
What scale is this?
You definitely get a lot of stuff! It’s very similar in size to a Kyosho Mini Z so like 1/28th or so.
We need an HexMod Pro version with licensed bodies and higher upgrades
That would be really cool. I’d love to see replacement parts available for them too. As it sits now if you break something you’re out of luck.
Thanks for the honest review!
Of course! Thank you for watching 👍🏻
This would be good for a kid just getting into the hobby.
Yeah I can see that. There is a fun factor there with all the customizing options and what not. I just wish it were manufactured a little better.

Mini Z drifting is kind of a thing I think. Maybe google that and see if something comes up that you’re interested in.

Sounds good! I believe a lot of people like that model from WL Toys
Seems like a step-up from the bang-bang crap.
What do you mean by the bang-bang stuff?
@@Bash_TheStampede Non-Proportional. Toy grade.
Ah yeah it definitely is a step up from something like that! Thanks for clarifying!
we need more cat content in your videos 🚗🐱
I’ll have my people talk to their people and see if we can set something up!
Can you race multiple Hex Mods at the same time? How many?

Can you get aftermarket parts?
Not that I’ve been able to find
I would go with a wl toys K989 over this.
But it would be cool for a kids league

Should took aaa batteries and just made the xmod evo but 2.4
More like an xmods would have been awesome for sure
