    That is one brilliant piece of engineering. Don't usually like music in motor videos but in this it works and you stopped the music at exactly the right time!

    with all the designs around.. one just gotta appreciate the old craft! Every single detail and handywork put into it. The engine alone is prettier than all new engines put together. It reeks creativity and design! Love it!

    I used to have and old "Favorite" Bicycle that was made in Czechoslovakia. I was one of the best bikes I ever owned, and I actually sold it to a collector!
    With minds such as yours, no doubt your beautiful country will be making fine machines for decades to come!

      Guys like this do very well and make a great living quietly doing what they do. They don't need to be millionaires, however. The meritocracy does exist and let the kardashians and other idiots jump into the spotlight and waste their lives on empty nonsense. They deserve it.

    • @fredericrike5974
      @fredericrike5974 5 лет назад +3

      Only if there is a market and enough money in that market for the "money guys to make several million first- that's capitalism! A meritocracy depends on the Boss to decide he wants to pay you more when he knows you'll show up tomorrow anyway! The American business men earned the unions that sprang up about the time this M/C was designed and built- the history is full of blood and fire- brought by the "boss". It is a beautiful piece of machine work- on that I'll agree.

    The correct technical term for the engine is a Sunrise 4, not a V4. A V4 would have 2 pairs of parallel twin cylinders in a V arrangement.

    • @mikefrech1123
      @mikefrech1123 5 лет назад +1

      Maybe it's a wubbleyou.

    • @denisewildfortune4058
      @denisewildfortune4058 5 лет назад

      Interesting. The engine uses a redial arrangement but with an even number of cylinders. Normally an odd number is used with the firing order being every other cylinder. But you can't do that with an even number of cylinders which is why it's using 2 ignitions systems. (There are 2 magnetos driven by chains on the right side) It's almost like to engines on a common crankshaft.

    • @arnokilianski7889
      @arnokilianski7889 4 года назад

      I would call it a W-4. Sunrise 4 is an interesting term; I've never heard it before , and will google it.

    • @K1To749
      @K1To749 4 года назад

      @@denisewildfortune4058 I guess it operates as two v twins connected.Four rods on one pin.For the ignition this is a part that I never managed to understand :) Altough I restored a few engines and built a dozen modern ones when it comes to ignition and electrics my level of refinement never passed beyond the principals of mighty hot bulb engine.

    Well Sir?
    I did have the pleshure of working on quite some number of early
    Cycles As a youth, I had a wealthy mentor, and his son.
    we worked on one Arial, Two Exelsiors, A set of "Thores"
    and several Hendee powered indians As well as a Custom bike,
    Built on a 1912-1922 Budapest. So you convince one of these fellows to,
    Alow me too? And I gladly will.

    Wow, holy carp.
    I desperately need an engine for my bike, I sure do wish I could just go out to the garage and build one. You obviously know a lot about engines, I wonder if you would have advice about which single cylinder motor I might find commonly available to convert for a boardtrack racer reproduction. I'm not going for authentic but don't want an obvious briggs and stratton or weedwacker or 2stroke china bicycle engine. Something that could be easily made to look antique with no shroud.
