    My 2024 cx5 was doing this as well, flare between 2/3 upshift only when cold typically the first few upshifts then it was fine. Turned out a simple software fix was put out in a service bulletin. Dealer updated the software in the TCM, haven’t had an issue since.

      Glad your TCM was update-able. My 1st two were not.

    All new Mazda automatic transmissions go through a "learning" phase via an adaption software and it takes approx 2,000-4,000KM's here in Australia. The transmissions in 2024 Mazda's are excellent quality and well engineered however they are a "Hybrid" in so far as they use a manual clutch pack instead of a fluid torque converter. If you buy one new and don't know this the transmission software will take a dislike to your "driving style" and behave rather erratically and if this continues it can shutdown or go into limp mode. Either way a CX-5 is a HEAVY vehicle at 1,700 Kg's.

    JIT (just in time) inventory management. Works well until there's a natural or man made disaster.

    My friend just changed his CVT transmission on a Nissan Altima 2016. $5K out of his pocket.

      @gary56 19 дней назад +1

      Nissan CVT’s are junk. The only CVT’s I trust are either Subaru or Toyota. If you want a small SUV with a good transmission go with Mazda it has a six speed transmission which is rock solid.

      I had a 2016 nissan rogue. If the bill came to 5k, i would've junked the car. I just got rid of my rogue due to the pending transmission issue.

      @Arctic5fox well part of having an emergency fund is to able to cover a car purchase. Who says you need a new car. You can get a used beater while you save. 6mo to 1yr of pay should be emergency fund.

    I was thinking about a Mazda but bought a basic Cadillac XT4 two years ago. It's been flawless. That being said, I drained and filled the 9 speed trans fluid (5 quarts Dex 6) and it was discolored at 21,000 miles. These multi-speed transmissions (CVTs too), esp. with low and ultra low visc. fluid, are extremely hard on the fluid and need to be serviced more frequently unless you're trading the car before 100K or so miles. I really liked Mazda but decided that GM parts are generally cheaper and more widely available in the US. I plan on keeping my car for a long time now I'm semi-retired.

    How much is the monthly cost to lease a CX5? I was considering to purchase one, but not if there is a problem with the transmission. And this vehicle is made in Japan! Sad. Thanks, BTW.

    Having inventory on hand is not good. Any company wants to have the minimum possible inventory on hand. That's money that could be invested or used in other ways.

    Thanks you so much for putting this video with all this info ABOUT MAZDA. As I was thinking of getting myself a cx5. BUT oh NO. NOT getting anything from Mazda AT ALL EVER. Your cx5 did not even make a yr and is already giving your issues. WHY would anyone want to buy from this mfg still? NOT me!!! I going with maybe the Toyota or some one else.
