One issue I've had with AutoHold (and the brakes in general) is how they work in conjunction with the cylinder deactivation in the CX-50. Because of the delay in the cylinders reactivating when the brakes release the vehicle "stumbles" initially when you start to move from a start. When using just the brakes (no AutoHold) I can avoid this by lightly reducing the pressure on the brake pedal, thus triggering the cylinders to reactivate while still keeping the vehicle from moving, just before the traffic light turns green. This can't be done with AutoHold.
Nice. First person after watching many reviews that shows the remote windows. Too bad you don't have a remote start secret if and when your app isn't working. To go into accessory mode it's as simple as pushing a start button when you get in the car with your foot off the brake. Thanks again
Where I live there is 0 AT&T coverage so a remote start via an app is worthless to me. Why they got rid of it on the key fob is beyond my comprehension.
I saw something on the mazda site that said: "To remotely start your Mazda CX-5 using the key fob, follow these steps: 1. Ensure the Key Fob Has Remote Start Capability : Not all key fobs have this feature, so verify that yours does. 2. Activate Remote Start : Press and hold the lock button on your key fob for a few seconds. Depending on your model and year, you might hear a confirmation sound or the hazard lights might flash to indicate that the engine is starting. 3. Operating Range: The key fob generally works within a certain distance from the Mazda CX-5, so ensure you are within this range for the feature to function. For more detailed information and to ensure compatibility with your specific Mazda CX-5 model, refer to your vehicle's owner's manual or consult with a Mazda dealership." Haven't gotten to test it on our 2025 CX-5 but will let you know 😊
I got a #27" for everyone. I own a 2024 Mazda CX-50 TPP. So much fun! While slowing approaching a red light in the right lane (two lanes each way), a car in the left lane (both cars pointed the same direction in front of the red light), the car in the left lane decided to pull out in front of me (within feet!), the Mazda blasted the horn and flashed the lights faster than my reaction time to swerve out of a collision. The iStop button on these turbo cars is wired BACKASSWARDS. You should NOT have to press it every single time to disengage the auto stop/start. The default should always be OFF. "If" a driver wants the iStop function, they can press the button. Lastly, the Bose subwoofer/stereo system is phenomenal when using BT and high quality sources...I am hearing "details" in music that I have never heard. Question: the CX-50 TPP is not a high power sports car -- why does everyone want to race me? Even on the highway, they "line up" with me. The CX-50 is "quick" and can hold it's own, but compared to a 500hp Mustang or Corvette, it won't win. Still, plenty of power (torque) when fed 91/93 octane to please most. Esp, when on the highway doing 50-55 mph and you gun it.
I-stop is basically start/stop function to save gas which is the stupidest thing ever for any car and it is also by default on any vehicle or manufacturer I have not got in a car where it is off by default.
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing these features! I have a CX50 with memory seat function. I think the mirror settings are also supposed to be saved with the memory function, but this hasn't work for me yet. The seat position and active drive display gets saved and adjusts with the memory function, but not the mirror position. Any tips on what I may be doing wrong?
Very informative video and good features to know. However, I believe you missed one. We recently found out on my wife’s 2019 cx-9 (and we were told all mazdas with a power lift gate have this feature), there is a lock button on the rear tailgate, to the right of the power button that opens the tailgate. You must have the key fob on you however. After almost 5 years of ownership, we never knew it existed 😂. The cx-70 & 90 have it as well. So I’m sure the other models have it. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for this video. Another video idea for you for hidden things is what the Turbo models comes with that’s hidden. There’s a lot of confusion around the Turbo models and if the only difference is Mazda slapping in a turbo. Could you make a video that tells interested Mazda fans, like myself, that the Turbo models for example includes dual piston calipers in the front and bigger brakes too. Anything else? I heard structural improvements or stronger something maybe?
Great info! I have a 2024 CX50 and the reverse tilt side mirrors isn’t working, is there a setting that needs to be activated? It worked when I had my 2020 Mazda3. Thanks!
Yea that’s a no go for me, I have a 2023 Chevy Avalanche I just hit the start button to remote start, that’s BS Mazda. Charges you, I think Toyota does the same, I’ll check Lexus
Thank you for the video! I’ve got a question about daytime running lights. They’re are always set to have the headlights always on. Is there a way to have only the LED surrounding lights without the main LED bulb ? Just like VWs or BMWs ?
One of the really disappointing things with our new cx90 is you no longer have a key fob remote start. There is 0 AT&T cell service where we live so the remote start is worthless to me on the app and when it's 30 below zero this winter, my wider be walking 150 ft to the garage to start the car and warm it up before she goes to work. Engineering really dropped the ball on that one from what I understand I may void the warranty by installing an aftermarket remote start that has a key fob.
Is there any setting to allow your seat and/or steering wheel heaters to turn on when using remote start? My husbands 2014 Dodge has this option and I am shocked my 2024 CX9 doesnt.
On the 2020-2023 CX5, if you press and hold the dashboard stalk that controls dashboard brightness, it will also change the display to the right of the speedometer to a compass and numerical miles to empty for the gas tank -- as opposed the default gauge indication for miles to empty,.
Hi Jonathan. I recently got a 2024 cx5. I was wondering if you knew how to get the screen brightness to adjust automatically for day and night. It says automatic screen brightness but at night it’s super bright still and I have to manually go into the settings to dim it. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong? Thanks!
@@ericbucci7558 I had the same problem. There are two buttons on the right side of the central display (behind the steering wheel)- one has a display icon with a small plus on it and the other (lower) button has a minus sign. Just hit the minus sign once - it automatically dims at night now and brightens up during the day.
Yep built in but you need the app to get it to work. Dumb. But using the app you can start it outside from anywhere . Like your warm seat inside the hockey game and your poor car is freezing down the parking lot somewhere
I have a 2013 CX5 and I don't have any sort of automation on my lift gate....no buttons to indicate any ability to set height or anything either. Stranger still I can only open it from the outside there is no lever or button on the inside.....anyone?
2013 was the first year of production for the CX-5. The rear hatch was treated like the hatchback sedans of the day, inside opening, power operation with various height setting were added over the years.

Also there is an after market istop disabler for Mazda we have one in our cx50 don’t have to deal with pressing the button every time you start up.
You must be in the soul red crystal color! Maybe that’s why everyone wants to race you!😂😂😂
there is a kit you can buy online that reverses the switch so it is always off

Is it only the American models the window feature works on?
Doesn't work on my 2020 US model...think that feature got added later, perhaps around 2022?
Any idea why the car shuts off after you use remote start then try to unlock and go inside it shuts off
Just bought a CX50 2 weeks agon& my salesman said it's an anti-theft feature 🤷♀️
My new cx5 didn't change the time as expected. It looks to be configured to do it automatically but it didn't fall back
I’m having that same issue in my CX 50. I always have to do it manually, can’t get it to change automatically.
You have to go into the settings and uncheck the daylight savings time option. I just had to do this for mine too.
I miss your Mazda insights. It is unfortunate the dealership closed.
Is there a way to turn the engine off without disrupting the radio for CX-90?
put the trans into neutral and then shut the engine off the radio will stay on then you can put the lever to park
Push the shifter button and shut off the car, infotainment screen will stay active for 15 minutes
Where's the function where my Mazda makes me coffee, toast and bacon in the morning - then goes to work FOR me?
But those are not all Mazda's. Mazda 3's are also Mazda's.
Thinking the same thing
Too bad they don't make Mazda 6 anymore
I like these cars I just don't like the screens where they're at
Doesn’t it have a remote start ?
The remote start is from the Mazda app

Why these features are "Hidden Features" if you can find these in menu ?
Most mazda dealers don't tell you the features he's showing here in the video.
I’ve never been so disappointed with a car’s features or idiosyncrasies:

The hatch stays locked so that if you come to a traffic stop nobody can just open your boot and run off with the contents. Great idea in my opinion.
How do you get the wireless charging pad to work
I don’t use mine but I remember the salesman saying there was a power on button in there that you have to press to activate it.
The wireless charger on my CX90 doesn’t work all the time. It would not charge up my IPhone 14. The built in charger has been picky. It would not connect onto my iphone 14 max pro. It might be because of its size and case.

Try to put your phone face down.
