"Island Fever" was released with the album: "Summer in Paradise" - 1992. The beautiful song is written by Mike Love and Terry Melcher for The Beach Boys. Enjoy!!
The whole US version of this album is great but needs this version of Island Fever. It reminds me of those hot bay watch girls on the late night in the summertime. Pamela..
A life-long BB fan from the 60s. Seen them in concert for 4 decades. They needed to pack it in by the early 70s. Their glory was in the 60s, esp. b/f Brian really screwed himself up. Nobody could match their excitement and sound in concert in the 60s. No bells and whistles, no special effects, no theatrics...just fantastic, positive BB music that brought you to your feet.
@donaustadt As much as I love Carl Wilson's voice...it can't fix "Walking in the Sand". When they changed the basic beat and production of this classic song, it ruined it. So...I agree what you said about it. RIP Carl.
Looking at the comments of these songs is making me see that this album is almost polarizing, I don't mind this song personally but not everyone seems to agree on any of the song's quality.
Now that I hear this USA mix, I understand why people don't like it. I have the Korean version, this song in particular is waaaaayyyyy better on the international version. This mix hides the roots of the song
And yet Carl has by then fully taken over the dual leads with Mike given the absence of Brian on the Beach Boys releases. They did try and include Dennis's wonderfu songl Forever but tried turning it into a blockbuster of a song, which obviously has worked for some people, maybe people who hadn't heard the gentleness of the original.
Must have bought the US imported version into the UK presume I couldn't wait for the UK release. Better and worse version of songs on each versions of the CD, this is neither just different in a nice way.
While far from a masterpiece, the original American release version of this song is better than this. The original version features electric guitar breaks and a nice vocal from Carl that is missing here. This version is dull.
generally summer in paradise is not as bad as many people say. of course some tracks are horrible (remember walking in the sand, surfin, summer of love) but there are some very nice songs with great vocals on it. personally i enjoy this album more than some of brian wilson's solo albums (especially gettin in over my head, which is really terrible).
This is quite different from the original version on the American release. I kinda prefer the American release. Though neither version is exactly what I'd call "good".
kokomo ahh beat😭😭😭🙏🏝🌴🏄♂🏖
I swear this is the same goddamn beat as Kokomo. I even started singing Kokomo in the beginning!
Hey, as Mike Love said, “don’t mess with the formula” 😂
Great song! Love it! The whole album sounds great to me!
This is so ahead of its time!
Jodeos , me gusta la voz de Mike Love !
I just had this pop in my head and looked it up...way different version than on my cd. Still good, just different.
I used to listen to this album driving up and d I wn the cast to work and back in California. one of my favorite Beach Boys albums
The whole US version of this album is great but needs this version of Island Fever. It reminds me of those hot bay watch girls on the late night in the summertime. Pamela..
Incroyable , le Paradis est donc de ce monde 🤯🤯🤯!!!
On reflection, this is actually better than Kokomo in my humble opinion.
This feels like the cousin to Kokomo
You only think that because it didn’t become as popular as Kokomo

If island fever's a real thing, then im in trouble :-)
Great song. I'm ready to go....
thumbs up if you're listening to this with corona virus
Like the uk version with the different lyrics , vocals and funky chord changes but cheesy vocals asidehere ...it's very BB
I like the other version better though. Fantastic to hear the group so inspired. Mike shows he is No 1
This is the UK version, based on time lengths from Wikipedia. (3:11 rather than the US 3:27)
hcd199 I Was Were There
The US version is a convoluted soup. This feels right enough.
This is the second version. , I like the first version much better, which is the USA version.
Not all of this album is as bad as people say. But this one is.
This Songs Was The Years 1992 Come Out Thirty-one Years

Me gusta mucho , hay que diferenciar a The Beach Boys era Mítica 1961 - 1977 y después también hay temazos ! ! ! !
dude this is just Kokomo with different lyrics and a slightly different sounding chorus
did they even try with this one or what

I like both the US and UK versions; I wonder why the boys did it differently for the two territories.
The liner notes even say that this is the cousin of Kokomo but this is not the version I have on the album of the same name.
imo it sounds more like Make it Big also from Still Crusin'
sounds just like kokomo
Is that John Stamos on the electronic bongos?
Like, "gusten66", I like the other version much better! Although this album didn't do well, there are some good songs on it! ALOHA!
sounds more like Still Cruisin to me..heh
uk version
Sounds like "Do the Locomotion" and Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" had a divorce
This is what happens when there is no Brian or Dennis and Carl takes a backseat.

i have the album, and id have to check to be sure, but i dont believe this is the version on the album

The American album version is much better than this .
The sad part is that the most catchy song was not written by any of the Beach Boys. Kokomo was written by John Phillips of the 'ol Mamas and Papas
+Steve Cabiedes Kokomo was written by 4 people, including Mike Love, even though I doubt he contributed much.
Wrong album dude.
Mike wrote the "Aruba, Jamaica, Ooo I wanna take ya..." part. So basically the chorus. I don't know what else he added. But he at least did that much.
Mike Love was the Beach Boys...
Jason Lee Lol
thanx 4 agreeing....
Nothing wrong with that. : )
This is quite different from the original version on the American release. I kinda prefer the American release. Though neither version is exactly what I'd call "good".
the released version of SIP is much better...
Mike Love....
Why?
🤦♂️.
Seriously... Rhyming "sure" with "brochure".
Brian stole most of his ideas...
Bullshit
saschi74 I know
He did not steal his idias
I smell Kokomo and it aint pretty.
