I boil a tin of condensed milk for two hours (on a slow boil and turn upside down halfway through. Make sure it is a GENTLE boil otherwise the tin might explode. It turns to caramel. These days you can buy ready made caramelised condensed milk in the supermarket.
O dear, a lot of memories… My first job- in the kitchen on the youth camp. We made carmel condensed milk as you said and mixed with vodka. Delicious😂. After work of course. Our tins never explode.
I love Mary’s recipes but I was wondering why she served the older gentleman with horses quiche and the young men working hard fashioning horseshoes only dessert instead of the lamb stew?
