Made this today, and the only change I made was using a Whatchamacallit on top instead of a Crunchie bar. Can hardly keep my dad (or myself) away from it. Delicious! :)
That caramel you made is what we brazilians call Doce de Leite, or Milk Sweet. We do desserts with that, but also eat with bread. Its really something amazing.
it looks really delisious!! i am not fun of a desset that is too sweet, but this looks so good that i really want to try it when i have guests at my house!!
Donal Skehan I reckon this is just the *ultimate* for Big Dumpling's sweet tooth - I'm going to have to whip one up for her soon! And the Crunchie on top... inspired! x
of course I am staying up tuned - this channel has the best recipes - like this one!!! Yum! It's almost 10pm, but all l can think about is - how fast l can get to the shops for the ingredients for this :) :) :) and it's all your fault :) :) :)
That looks incredible. My wee Mammy loves my Banoffee pie. I add chocolate to my biscuit base, either in chocolate chip form or finally chopped chocolate bits. It goes down a treat. Ohhhhh and just to let you know Donal, Carnation now do the tins of the actual caramel sauce! Its exactly the same stuff, they've just done the 2 hour boiling process for you, lol. I couldn't believe it when I saw the actual caramel sitting next to the condensed milk. I can now make this pie in no time at all thanks to the pre-made caramel. I could kiss Carnation for producing it, lol. Lee x
Getting hungry... Thinking of making it... Probably am going to make it. A few words that spring to mind in this video are yum, yummy and scrumptious. :-) Love this RUclips channel so much!!!
I'm making this banoffee pie right now. My condensed milk is in a pot of boiling water at the moment, got my crust setting in the fridge. Hoping everything comes together perfectly. :D
Brilliant! ... after watching this one, and Jamie Oliver's Banoffi Alaska, i think i'm ready to tackle our organic Raw Vegan version -- YAHH! ... Cheers
I've always been terrified of making caramel by boiling a can of condensed milk but now I'm quite tempted to try it out! If it explodes all over my kitchen I'll be sure to instagram you a picture
I like the base, base, base. I like the buttery biscuit base. I like the biscuit base, I like base. I like the buttery biscuit base. I like the base, base, smack around the face. Buttery biscuit base.
I was wondering if you can mix the caramel with cream cheese and some whipped cream and mix in the banana's instead of layering(after the caramel is cooled ) and then put whip topping on top. Kinda of like getting an ice box cheese cake Banoffee pie .
My God, this is the definition of foodporn :) Just one question, can I use regular made caramel, cause I don't have the time to wait for the condensed milk to boil, and I want a quick bite of this perfection on the go?
5 years later lol, but the answer is you really don't have to. Between the caramelized condensed milk and the crunchie it's already a very rich and sweet recipe. So good though, try it if you haven't yet.
Looks awesome! I'm going to make it for Christmas :) Yeah, be careful about that can of condensed milk, coz mine exploded all over the kitchen one time. Not fun at all.
Banoffee Pie one of my favourite these last years... and to all that make it for the love of your'e time when Donal says make sure the tin is covered in water make sure it is... I fell a sleep while waiting for it once and woke up to an explosion to find the kitchen full of Carmel and a dent in the ceiling... believe me when I tell it is no fun cleaning it
Don´t be scared,it doesn´t explode, you just have to cover it all up,and yes,you should in fact use a large pot.You can use a pressure cooker and just boil it for only 30 minutes...Than wait it turns cold to open the pot.I always do that :)
Arvid W if you want a quicker version, buy a pre-made butter biscuit base from the store, and the brand that made the condensed milk actually make caramel (so they do the boiling for you) and then add the caramel to the base, top with bananas, buy extra thick cream which you only need to whip for 30 seconds and then spoon over the top and add the biscuits. It takes about 5 minutes to put it all together :)
The Craft Beer Channel Well, I guess it is kind of personal taste, but I actually do not recomment a Weißbier to that desert. I would go with much heavier beer to balance this hell of a sweet dish. Some Doppelbock or at least a stronger Pils would go way better with it in my oppinion. Greetings from Germany :)
Hinterfragen! it's definitely down to taste. Matching is just like cooking. I woudn't have a lager with a dessert because the sugar would make the beer too bitter, but a doppelbock is a damn fine idea!
OMG!! I want to eat this NOW!
The Domestic Geek you are yourself one of my favourite channels!! How come you're watching skehan too?
I watch your videos
Better to eat him than the pie.
I can literally swim in those amazing blue eyes... I mean the Banoffee pie. Ha.
I don't think you know what literally means ;)
Lala16ss there's always at least one.... haha
Lilliane Haha yeah. Especially on RUclips.
Once he made that salmon and dill dish, I knew he was the one ;)
Made this a few times already and going to again now, love this recipe! As has everyone who's tried it :)
Really love Donal he cooks so deliciously and looks like a power cuddler yum
Made this today, and the only change I made was using a Whatchamacallit on top instead of a Crunchie bar. Can hardly keep my dad (or myself) away from it. Delicious! :)
I dont know what i want more the actual pie or the cute chef 😂😍 haha
Thank you for helping me make my favourite dessert .❤
this guy is amazing! so enthusiastic and charismatic!
Love a banoffee pie! I usually crush a Flake on top of mine but I love the idea of Crunchies! Fab twist on a classic recipe!
The more the merrier! ;-)

They both look amazing.
You can't beat a bit of Banoffee, nice touch with the Crunchie!
awesome!!!! violet crumble with banoffee pie, 2 of my favorites!
You have such beautiful blue eyes Donal! Thank you for this recipe. love it!
Donal Skehan I reckon this is just the *ultimate* for Big Dumpling's sweet tooth - I'm going to have to whip one up for her soon! And the Crunchie on top... inspired! x

Ok the honeycomb crunch makes all the difference...I cant wait to try this!!
Love your sense of humour Donal...😂...awesome to watch also...all the way from Australia 🇦🇺
My family recipe uses sweet pastry, and we add icing sugar & a sprinkle of coffee to the cream, but the crunchie bits on top sound super nice
looks very easy to make.. I will try it next week..
Wow, awesome! Brilliant recipe and execution, thanks for sharing!
amazing that is soooooooooooo great you are an amazing chef so good i want to eat it now
Wow it looks delicious !!! I'm really going to try that

Looks great.

This is apparently like four years old but this is absolutely amazing Donal I love you
he is soooo cute, and his banoffee pie too haha :D
ooh definitely going to make your version D.Caroline in Spain be well.
"Buttery biscuit base" is the best thing I've ever heard in an Irish accent.
The Pie looks so delicious. And he is so cute! WHY?????
Looks so good!
I love your chanel
And this dish I will try it
Looks easy enough. I always wondered what banoffee was! Looks yummy!
Stupid question, but you can lay the tin of condensed milk sideways right to boil? or must it be upright? Thanks!
Amazing! Thank you Donal!
I really want to make this on Christmas!! My family will gonna love this especially my nephews!! 👌
I'm making this banoffee pie right now. My condensed milk is in a pot of boiling water at the moment, got my crust setting in the fridge. Hoping everything comes together perfectly. :D
I like this simpler version better than the one you made with Eric Lanlard (which still looked delicious)! Thanks for sharing!
I think it is amazing and super simple, can I use low fat condensed milk???
So delicious!
Must we boil condensed milk or can we just use caramel that already canned?
Never seen something delicious like you Donal .... ehm Banoffee Pie :)
exactly what I wanted :)
looks awesome
this was lovley
Love this guy. Thanks for the recipe man! Looks great!
I LIKE THE BUTTERY BISCUIT BASE!
Brilliant! ... after watching this one, and Jamie Oliver's Banoffi Alaska, i think i'm ready to tackle our organic Raw Vegan version -- YAHH! ... Cheers
This looks so good! Hope I can try this soon.

Oh goddd i love banofee piee and this recipeee is amazinggf ! Also might i say this pie is not the only sweet and beautiful thing in thiss video 😊!!
I was wondering if you can mix the caramel with cream cheese and some whipped cream and mix in the banana's instead of layering(after the caramel is cooled ) and then put whip topping on top. Kinda of like getting an ice box cheese cake Banoffee pie .
I really do love banoffee pie, it's great!
Your website with the written recipe is not working........
Hey, so do you boil the tin of condensed milk with the pot cover on or off? I'm so afraid of it exploding boiling caramel.
One word: yummmmmm! Ok and a few more: omm nom nom nommm
That looks delicious!
THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE CARAMEL?! Color me impressed!
the right recipe! thank god i found it!!!!
I made it although my caramel was too liquid (because i used my homemade condensed milk)! It was so delicious!! thnks for the recipe!
I saw a video that said the longer you boil it the thicker it becomes
I made this and OMG so good I was so excited to eat it I forgot to take a picture
Love this!!
but how do you cut a slice from the pan though? isn't it going to fall apart
Irresistible!
Now i am more eager to make this pie, thanks for inspiring me cute chef.. Lol.
Can I use a tin of caramel instead of using the condensed milk?
do i have to serve this straight away or can i keep it refrigerated to eat throughout the week?:)
What a mind-blowing caramel trick! It's magic! :-O
I absolutely love this technique of making caramel. Easier and safer (for rookies).
If you don't like cream what else could you use on the top?
MissJessibel Jamie Oliver's banoffe Alaska has a alternative topping
and half of the comments are flirting with donal 😂
*swooon* that looks soooo goooooooooood
My God, this is the definition of foodporn :) Just one question, can I use regular made caramel, cause I don't have the time to wait for the condensed milk to boil, and I want a quick bite of this perfection on the go?
I hardly paid any attention to the recipe, I got lost in your beautiful self.
Carnation Brand has Caramel ready instead of having to boil for 2 whole hours.. so you can dig in as soon as possible :)
That banoffee pie looks lovely and delicious! I'll denifitely give it a try. =)
I'm not really a keen lover of plain whipped cream! Great vid btw!!! Any ideas on how I could pimp the cream?
5 years later lol, but the answer is you really don't have to. Between the caramelized condensed milk and the crunchie it's already a very rich and sweet recipe. So good though, try it if you haven't yet.
I'll tell youwhat I think of your Bannoffee Pie Donal Skehan, I think I need to go to the shops and grab some ingredients!!!
Looks awesome! I'm going to make it for Christmas :) Yeah, be careful about that can of condensed milk, coz mine exploded all over the kitchen one time. Not fun at all.

As I'm not a fan if honeycomb chocolate at all I just swirl Nutella on the top can't go wrong !
If I'm too scared of the can exploding, is it posible to use a huge pot just to be sure the water never runs below the top of the can?
Don´t be scared,it doesn´t explode, you just have to cover it all up,and yes,you should in fact use a large pot.You can use a pressure cooker and just boil it for only 30 minutes...Than wait it turns cold to open the pot.I always do that :)
Would it still be delicious if I use oreo instead of digestive biscuits?
i stoped thinking about health after that cream hit the caramel :D thumbs up !!
Man that looks great! Wish I had the patience to actually cook some time, I give up halfway through and resort to my microwaveable noodles
Okay, will do! Thanks for posting this video
So if I boil a can of (sweet?) condensed milk it turns into caramel sauce?
+Bodhidharma said yes
Not caramel. Dulce de L.
Ridiculous. Preposterous. Bonkers. Ludicrous. Outrageous. Stupendous.
Oh, and try with a weiss beer.
A Weißbier? Are you mad? Why would you drink a Weißbier to that pie? :D
Hinterfragen! The banana and bubblegum flavours with a hint of spice and low bitterness should work really well.
The Craft Beer Channel
Well, I guess it is kind of personal taste, but I actually do not recomment a Weißbier to that desert.
I would go with much heavier beer to balance this hell of a sweet dish. Some Doppelbock or at least a stronger Pils would go way better with it in my oppinion.

Let's agree then, that there is a beer for everybody and every situation ;)
Cheers and keep up your nice beer spreading word!
