About the windows control there's a Third option. Press Rear until it starts to blink and one button operates the 4 windows at the same time.
We drove this car in the Pro plus configuration immediately after driving the Blazer RT EV. The VW handled better, accelerated better and rode better. The Blazer had a little more leg room and was a bit wider. With dealer incentives, the two cars were very similar price. The Blazer was about $850 more. We're getting the ID4.
That’s smart that you are getting the ID 4 over the blazer…VW put a lot into technology and build quality than the other manfacturers
Btw - for those of you wondering "what's a stator?"
It's the collection of electrical wires that produce an electro-magnetic field that is attached to the housing (the outside) of the electric motor.
The rotor "pushes" off the field made by the stator to make torque and power.
I know it's only a semi common term, so I thought I would drop an explanation.
Thank you for filling in the communication gap.
@@nicholassmith7048 Happy to help!
Most motorcycle riders understand but Car drivers always ask me where is your alternator on a motorcycle !!!
I thought Stator was Darth's son? So glad you cleared that up.
A frunk is especially nice to have for someone like myself. I use it to store muddy boots and shoes. I also put my day pack in there. I volunteer in a local park and do weeding, pruning, digging and planting. Some of my hand tools go in the frunk.
Why not in the back? That's the part of the car I want to keep clean. My Mach E has a drain so I can just rinse the dirt out of the frunk with a garden hose. All that dirt is someplace other than the passenger compartment.
One other useful part of a frunk, it's hard for a thief to access any valuables in there. No windows. It has a hood latch. They might go to the trouble of forcing it open only to find dirty boots or shoes.
The rear is for luggage, groceries, dogs and or dog food. It still needs cleaning but no more than the rest of the passenger compartment.
Loved the video guys. Here are some things I noticed that are much different, and MUCH BETTER, than '21 - '23:
- dedicated physical button for hazard lights between front vents, instead of a capacitive button that blends in with "mode", "clima", etc.
- dedicated heated steering wheel button on steering wheel; it's really difficult to turn on the heated steering in my '23
- volume slider moved to left of steering wheel, and tuner/track advance moved to horizontal. HALLELUJAH! Now pressing "right" will always advance in a list and "left" will always go back, instead of constant guessing because it does a different thing on the radio tuner screen than on the favorites screen and a different one on Spotify on Android Auto, and I can NEVER remember which is which.
- wipers / washer functions moved to left-hand signal stalk. I don't like that change, but probably not a deal-breaker. I thought the shifter on the "binnacle" was just fine.
- basic climate and seat heat/ventilation in a fixed position along the bottom of the screen is a HUGE UX improvement. My Mach-e does it this way after an OTA update, and it made a great usability difference.
- speaking of which, VENTILATED SEATS is a big deal for those of us with the XY genotype that don't like sticking to our seats, and it's something that I sorely miss in my '23
- at 21:39, exactly when you said the "Hyundai Ioniq 5" a blue one drives by on your left!
I can verify the Volkswagen is pure trash. Not even 1,800 miles on mine and it's been in the shop 4 times. They won't do the repair work and are working their way out of it as hard as possible
@@robhamilton4736 head to the VWIDtalk forums and post about your experience. There are some knowledgeable people there that can probably help you get this taken seriously.
We purchased the 2023 AWD Pro S+ in the summer. It’s great.
Just picked up the 23 AWD Pro S on a lease last week. Really enjoy it, but definitely look forward to the 2027 updates.
@@jayson1270 13:26 I did too. Saved 17k, totally worth the trade off.
I like the window controls. I don’t mind most stuff in the screen. At least VW has stalks & has that small behind the steering wheel screen.
I think they’ve done a fantastic job.
Now we need the ID3
Wish yall could have tested the park assist feature.
got a 2024 3 days ago and its crazy in sport mode it feels like a bigger golf r makes me giddy everytime i floor it
Have a '21 ID.4 Pro RWD, and it's been good. No frunk is nice as the hood is quite short on ID.4 and leads to a shorter vehicle and more cargo capacity in rear. The increased range and power sound really nice. Heat pump for the U.S. cars would be nice too.
Model y is short as well, but I would never say, no frunk is good, why is it good? Because you have less storage? So less storage is good?
@@unrulyevil Then you don't need to say it. I explained why I prefer it in my original comment. Model Y is 7 inches longer and 3 inches wider, but has the same cargo capacity behind 2nd row. I prefer a shorter vehicle. Or if one prefers more storage, then every inch in length in rear leads to a lot more storage than an inch longer hood with space for a frunk.
@6:58 there is actually a mechanic latch there, if everything is working properly it's just the button but if the car dies you can pull hard on the handle and it will pop out and manually open the door. A good failsafe.
I love this SUV except the Haptic Touch buttons and not having driver rear window switches.
I use the frunk on my Tesla all the time, it helps keep the smell of carry out food out of the car. However, it's not easy because the hood is not powered and I always have my hands full when using it. Note to carmakers, if you are going to include a frunk make the hood powered.
Does the ID.4 still have its previous very tight turning radius?
Yes, the RWD does. It's really great, better than my A4 Golf.
Yes it still does, just test drove one
Route planning isn't new with this release. It might not have worked well in the initial release, but it was there from day one. It got a lot better with the software update.
Test drove a new 2024 AWD. The info entertainment screen is snappy and the sound system upgrade Hk is a good improvement over previous years. Its also a very quite vehicle and all the power I would ever need.
Only thing I would like changed is the piano black interior handles and just a little less hard plastic.
As an owner of a GV60 with a Frubby, it is very useful to hold things you only use occassionally. I store a plug-in hand vacuum in there. I don't need a frubby or frunk, but efficient packaging is appealing for an EV, which is a piece of tech, not just a car.
Heat pump and physical knobs and buttons?
Good updates! Price gets up there, but great lease rates and if you're looking for an ev brand new you should probably be leasing anyway.
Fit and finish looks excellent.
That's why people buy German cars. Their solidity is second to none.
Interesting, mine is a 2023 but I think it has at least some of the performance features you mentioned that were new to 2024. I'm pretty sure mine was made really late into the 2023 production run, and it was made in the USA, so it's possible. Your interior and interface are definitely different though. I'll have to look into it before I make my video.
A used 2023 with 8k miles is going for $27k, the depreciation is crazy. Can't justify the new car price.
@radanovics I hear nothing but problems with the early version. Is the 2023 fixed?
@@Bicloptic
The '23 still has an annoyingly weird infotainment but it's not as slow and Android Auto/car play work great. Everything else is great.
Does it still have the thing where when you lift your butt off the seat for any reason it will shut off even when in motion?
Yes, but not if you keep your seat belt buckled.
What oil ?
Before lightning has the king of frunks. It’s very useful and I keep stuff in it at all times.
I had a reservation for one back when they were new. I canceled when I found out all the issues the first revision cars had. It’s nice they fixed some of them but it seems like too little too late. VERY competitive segment. I want to like this car, and I’m a VW fan from way back but it still leaves me saying meh. 😑
Got a completely new, 2024 model as a rental for last weekend.
What a great car! Really feels very nice and premium to drive, and the two adults sitting in the back for the roadtrip also had a good time: comfortable and roomy.
Now looking into getting one for myself!
Because front and rear brake system difference, you cannot rotate the tire. This caused rear tire gone very quickly than front.
Besides the design thing on the back the US model, for whatever reason, will have blinking brake lights instead of amber indicators
Yeah, I don't really understand it on European car brands in the US. Obviously you have the part already, why don't you just let it be yellow? It's more visible and more safe.
Well 4yrs in the US but hasn't even launched yet in Australia, supposedly due this year around mid-year. So I guess the first ID.4 for Australia will be the upgraded version that you have shown in your video. The question is have they fixed the software is it version 4.x or still 3.x in the ID.4.
Would like to see an updated off road video with a 2024 ID.4 AWD and the new AP550 rear motor. The new powertrain has more torque, which is better for off road. I wonder if they improved the calibration of the AWD system. Would love to see this version on the roller test!
2023 ID.4 selling with 10-15k discounts right now.
Saved 17k on a pro s awd. This week. The 2024 updates are nice, but not 17k nice. Very happy with the deal.
@@davidgarrs9978 congrats! What state are you in?
When is this car available?
Rear drums make sense in an EV. Brakes seize up constantly with a rotor setup in the winter, where they spread salt I mean.
Also supposedly the drum brakes don't rust as easily, and the rears aren't used nearly as much since those are the wheels that do most of the regen.
This VW video started with a Honda commercial. Where are the Quantumscape solid-state batteries installed?
The video does not feature the charging port at all.
The thing I really like about my ID4 is that it simply drives better. It has precise handling and is so comfortable. I think it is a mistake for people to pay too much attention to unimportant details like having a little more range or a little bit faster charging, when the thing that matters most is how it feels to drive the car.
Its unfortunate that so many controls are still on the screen or haptic, and that there STILL isn't a volume knob. But otherwise so good iterative changes.
does it stop on one pedal driving?
No. B mode is pretty good, but not even close to OPD. The Mach-e has great OPD, and going back and forth between that and the ID.4, even in B mode, is jarring.
I drive a Bolt and OPD is very nice. ID4 is a mediocre vehicle with this power train. They try to do the best with what they have, but they need something that’s up to date.
Great video! I had the same experience finding this charging station. Haha.
One thing about the Chevy Bolt, it has spoiled me in terms of driving dynamics. One pedal driving with on demand paddle regen will forever be the highest standard. Wish all new EV had the same setup, especially trucks for towing. Hope the Boltium keeps the same configuration.
I have a Bolt and an ID.4, and although I like the VW better, there are some things about the Bolt that would be nice to have on the VW. The one-pedal mode on the Bolt is excellent. I like having the paddle regen, but I wish it was more like an accelerator pedal to give it a variable response. The VW could definitely use a regen paddle and an actual one-pedal mode.
EV9 has the same setup
@@JonathanRootD Did not know that. I'll see if I can book a test drive.
@@BremboT ID 4 beat the Chevy in some important points: general build quality, smooth ride, charging power, cabin size, some "luxury" features, more complet infotainment.
I didn't hear if they brought back the heat pump. I know the original German built ID.4's had it standard. It was an option for a bit here in Canada. But in Canada the Heat Pump is a really nice have to improve that winter range.
Pretty sure they did not.
the heat pump is an option in Canada @@wesleykins
Getting rid of paper manual is a mistake, what is you have a problem with the infotaiment, or that particular screen freezes? How do you solve your issue then?
Perhaps one can download a copy and have it available on a phone or tablet.
They didn't get rid of it, you still have a paper copy in the car.
You can just ALSO access it via the screen, which is nice, because you can easily search keywords etc.
Five stars on yelp for just kase and tommy You both have really stepped up this year so far as has Alex as I have asked if you. Ps tommy your doing spectacular as backup leader and kase you too keep it going. I asked for adventure and we definitely got it in this 😂 lmao
what is max speed ?
Does the new 2024 ID.5 get these updates too?
I wish they would bring the ID.3 to the states
LA absolutely sucks at charging availability. Way more EVs than chargers available. I always have to wait until I'm out of the city to get a charging spot
New 2024 in my area for 35k with dealer discounts. 42k list….
When is this expected to be available at dealers? I only see the 2023 models available. You ptobbal mentioned it but I was multitasking with work.
In my area, the supply is very, very limited in April.
I’m hoping some updates will be carried over also to the new 2024 Ford Explorer ,cheers guys 👍😉💪
More efficient and more powerful. None of the complaints about cost cutting or gimmicky UI have been addressed.
I’m waiting to get a new 23 for half off..
Should do an insurance comparison
Excellent video, Tommy and Kase!!! The new iD4 looks decent but I think I’ll stick with my R1S 😊
Love the front trunk in my Rivian....groceries, dirty gear, dog stuff, etc.
Dont see how people dont appreciate one.
Companies that aren’t good at packaging say they don’t need to include a frunk. My Tesla had both a useful frunk and a deeper rear under trunk than my ID.4 and also more drive motors.
While I don’t use the frunk as often, I like to keep valuable things in there, since thieves couldn’t just break a window and take them. On trips it’s nice to split things between front and rear, so you don’t have things buried.
I do like my 2023 ID.4 and when I got it there was a large price difference between it and Model Y which made it more attractive, but mostly I wanted the more squared off rear end for carrying my bulky toys
Tommy loves to make fun of the Ioniq 5's "Frubby" but I keep my Granny charger and V2L adapter in there so I don't have to dig it out from underneath a bunch of gear in the trunk.
They really are useful!
@ShippyJack I do the same in my ev6 awd. In addition to my v2l I keep an interior cleaner, vacuum and cloths in there.
I put the grilled chicken in the tiny frunk of my ‘19 BMW i3. Great little space to keep that gorgeous smell out of the cabin! 🤣
@@kenmcclow8963 No there is no "aren t good at". It s about priority. VW sacrifice front truck for practicality: short turning radius, roomy cockpit, great visibility.
I want these proponents of touch controls to come to Hawaii (island Hawaii) and operate them while driving. They may work on a smooth highway, but twisting, often rough roads, good luck.
So glad EA/VW didn't do free charging with this car like all their previous models. Tired of people not charging at home but tying up the fast chargers because it's a free suck; between them and the uber/lyft drivers (also leasing EVs for the free suck) makes it hard to road trip especially given the limited infrastructure. Incentivizing people to charge at a fast charger over charging at home tells me Electrify America wants the whole system to fail.
Tesla just offered me 5,000 free supercharger miles if I would trade in my vehicle. It's not just EA.
Not all EV drivers/owners have a house to charge them. FYI. 🤔
@@thejake8099IMO, those people shouldn’t get EVs; infrastructure is not ready for them. If I have a family of 5, I’m not going to get a 2 seater even if I want one because it’s not the right fit for me at this point in my life.
@@bostondan77 How about you stick to home charging and let everyone else use the Superchargers, deal with charging like everyone else, just wait or better yet, rent an ICEV for road tripping.
@@bostondan77 If I drive like 200 miles a week then it seems like a perfectly fine fit to hit up a public charger once a week. By your definition you shouldn't be using them unless you're legitimately road tripping which would leave them empty most of the time.
The guy of "E for Electric" had this Id.4 for more than three years, and the problems he encountered were not related with any of the features mentioned here, but with the software. The OS was going from fast and responsive, to a laggard, freezing at times. The updates had to be done at the Dealer's shop and were not very good at re-establishing functionality, or adding new features. And those problems affected the AC function, speed of charge, wiper function, and other basic and essential functions. So tell me, how this model had improved on that, specially for a guy like me who is not into racing or speeding at all, but reliability and functionality. You are not addressing those things.
Is the color called: "road camouflage"? 😜😎
I believe it may be called "cement grey" or simply "primer".
@@nicholassmith7048 👍🤣
Hey, I have a 2023 in that color and I love it. My first choice was the blue but I could not handle a white steering wheel and white seats.
@@Dystopiancircus I'm happy you enjoy your color and your car👍👍
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.
Better but more expensive than a Y AWD
Where is the better?
I really like this car but the charging network is the now the only negative
Nice car but why anyone would consider this over a Tesla is beyond me. It’s a nice looking vehicle. Looks better than a Tesla, but Tesla does EVs better than anyone. Does this VW have access to supercharger network? Because that would be a deal breaker. Also no heat pump?? Come on VW.
Why "consider this over a Tesla"? Crazy Elon and higher insurance price. I have to pay $1k+ more a year with 2024 Model 3 for insurance and $500 less (yes, less) with VW ID4 compared to my 2016 VW GTI. It does not make any sense to save money on gas to end up paying higher insurance. As for "Tesla does EV better than anyone", funny, I am glad I did not pull the trigger on 2024 M3 in July 2024. Tesla just announced that ~300,000 of its new cars will need a new circuit board. Cannot get away with easy OTA fix for this one! Face it, EV industry is fairly new. There are enough bugs/issues with ALL manufactures. Tesla FSD scam is a good example. Tesla latest Cybertruck already lost its shine and sale in less than 10 months. The idea that nobody can build better EVs than Tesla is slowly becoming a myth. BTW - I just bought a used 2023 ID4 Pro S AWD, some known quirks, but not regret letting go of my GTI and not purchasing Tesla M3.
@KL-ku4ih lol 😆. You want to talk recalls? See how many recals vw had had in the last 5 years. I counted 11. Stop acting like vw are more reliable. That's all I will say....
Nice improvements, however, still costs too much!
Compared to what?
Good video, informative
How about some interesting colors? Don’t need another grey black or white car.
Biggest obstacle for me at the moment. What happened to cars with colour?
This comes in red and blue as well, but you're right, you need a wrap if you want more interesting colors
When accountants get involved in designing a car, it pulls from the humanistic usability of a vehicle, makes it harder and unpleasant to use and reduces sales. In my mind, ALL manufacturers need to bring back hard buttons and get rid of the screen and haptic buttons/sliders.
The lack of hard buttons and evident cost-cutting in the interior is unappealing.
They did take away the front recovery point unfortunately
I see no improvements over the 2021 ID4 I currently own. Disappointed that VW hasn’t listened to customers to incorporate some physical buttons. Also, where is the new steering wheel we were promised over 2 yrs ago?!
How many decades is Volkswagen going to continue to use that piano black finish it is so dated
The previous 3 yrs should be ignored. They were incomplete at best. Software was awful, and it was underpowered. Now that they've resolved a lot of the issues, they have to drop the price imo. Model Y has been massively dropping in price while the ID4 price has been increasing. Wake up VW.
They just did - I got a 12K discount on mine 😊
@@maesc2001 bravo. Congrats

Great review!
Lets compare feature with the Model Y. Both priced similarly, however, the ID4 may be relatively costlier depending on dealer and haggling skill. Let me know if I'm missing anything.
Model Y AWD:
Charging experience
Heat pump
Acceleration (4.3 with accel boost vs 5.7)
One pedal driving
Rear seat legroom
Rear seat headroom
Trunk size
Subtrunk size
Frunk
Better sound system
Vegan leather seats
Heated back seats
Software updateability
FSD Availability
No ties to company that lied about emissions of vehicles and was fined heavily for it
ID4 AWD:
Lighting (interior and exterior)
Display in front of driver
Pull out roof shade (can be added aftermarket on Y)
Appearance (Even though I like the Y design)
No ties to Elon Musk
you missed a few
New sound system
Vegan leather
Rear seat legroom
OTA updates now
Heated and vented from seats
May have lied about emissions but not about EPA estimates
Great Reviews as always. If VW gets rid of that "Tiny" Speedometer, then I'll consider one. You pay a lot of money to have them skimp on tech~! Kudos to them for changing the infotainment screen and New Motor!
I own a '23 ID.4. I paid MSRP last year, sucks for me, but I really like it in spite of a few software annoyances. The speedometer (we call it the "binnacle") is the perfect size. Displays speed, mileage info, cruise info, or turn-by-turn driving directions. I think it's a good design.
Yeah, I had one on Order, but $65K isn't taken lightly when they skimp on the Radio (premium delete) and Tiny Speedometer. So glad I canceled (last year) and going to buy a Truck instead. Lol, Go Figure.@@wesleykins
It is small, because it moves up and down with the steering wheel (does not get blocked by the wheel).Toyota Prius has the same thing. They are not going to change it just for you.
This is the SUV they should have brought out 4 years ago.
The dual motor is about as fast as the base charger Daytona now
I have a awd pro s it came with defective windshield, distortion in window posts and center passenger side. Was replaced with another bad shield only worse than before! WTF? My 2 nd awd pro s. Really disappointed with VW.
I’m glad they added some more power that 200 hp was really underpowered for an EV and you would expect to have at least the same amount of power as a Tesla if you’re gonna charge like 10 grand more
This car does not come close to any new tesla. It is still under powered. Zero to 60 in over 5 seconds.
I really can't get onboard with any VW EV until they offer one-pedal driving via either button or on-screen configuration. Driving around town or dealing with a stop-and-go highway log jam are both so much better with OPD.
Still no OPD?!? Cmon VW!
One pedal drive is the best single non-autonomous feature of any VEHICLE in traffic.
For those who have never driven one pedal drive, imagine slowing the car without the effort of pushing on a brake pedal… small change, but adds up in traffic.
I am not a fan of opd. Blended brake fan here:). I do not live in an area where stop and go is very frequent, so that may be contributing to my opinion
@@kenschmiesing4442I don't think OPD should be forced on anyone, but it really should be an option in every EV in my opinion. Those who love it, LOVE IT. VW is losing sales from people like me who will never go back to an EV that doesn't offer it. I actually like both the ID.4 (now that they've fixed the infotainment mess) and the Nissan Ariya, but I have crossed both off of my shopping list due to lack of OPD. The whole reason I watched this video was to see if VW has finally changed course on their OPD stance.
I have used one pedal and it is ok, but far from a reason to skip a vehicle.
So VW, Hyundai, and KIA keeping up with the time while Honda and Toyota still having an EV identity crisis.
Don t underestimate Toyota, Honda however .....
@@jonpetter8921 Do underestimate Toyota. They are getting so far behind it will take years to catch up especially since their CEO group don't like EVs. Screw them
It certainly is an improved uninspiring transportation appliance 👍
Like most of its competition. What do you expect? These are transportation 'appliances' not sports cars.
@@krane15exactly, at least it doesn't look like an egg.
Great car.
Guys, was this a paid advertisement? Lusting after light up emblems, not criticizing the 3EQ sound system, not discussing difference in range with wheel sizes, not discussing the storage with the hatch not being utilized a a hatch, no 3rd row option, charging network availability and charging curve?
Where is the real info?
No mention of the ID.7 coming to the US sometime this year. It is a sedan made in Germany, so no tax rebate. But it has gotten rave reviews in Europe as the ID flagship model.
September 2024. Although I'm sure that will be too expensive too.
Price as to be lower if company's wants EV's to sell. I can buy a 30K Corolla as a commuter or 60K ID4. Easy Corolla.
Got an ad from the local dealership on sale for 54k for 23s went on CarGurus 23 models with under 10k miles for 22k pretty nuts
I'm a fan but the new lineup makes no sense. Why is VW forcing 20 inch wheels on us? You can get RWD Pro with 19 inch but go to AWD and its 20! Also is VW going to give us free adaptors like Ford is doing. I'm inclined to wait for a NACS compatible model.
VW isn't forcing 20 in wheels. I believe they start at 18". But however, it might interest you to know that all EV tires are twice as expensive as their ICE counterparts and last half as long.
@@krane15 They start at 19 and are only available on the basic which is just a 2023 model and the pro which has a boring color choice. Move up to the Pro AWD and there you are stuck with 20 inchers, also on the ProS. So yes I feel pressured to get the 20.
We have a Volkswagen ID4 2022 Pro S. Pros: quiet cabin, comfortable seating, good Soundsystem. Cons: anemic range, useless app for the phone. For example, if the car is unlocked. There’s no way to lock it with the phone., And the reverse is also true there’s no way to unlock it with a phone. I rent this car out on Turo and it is the only one that requires a lockbox attached to the window, which is so 1980s.
For its extremely competitive segment VW ID4 is way overpriced with at least 10000 USD. The price of AWD top spec max out with options should be under 50000 USD including the destination charge. The car does not have exclusive features to claim premium price like for instance, exceptionally good seats, very cushy ride, higher range, very high charging speed, very good route planning, front trunk for luggage, more premium interior, very high efficiency, perfect sound system, high towing capacity, off road ability or even a free NACS adapter with Tesla Superchargers access.
It is true: it has better rear space design than Kia EV6 or even Hyundai Ioniq5. It has massaging seats, heated, cooled seats, motorized sun roof glass cover but the sun roof is not opening.
With the current price of VW ID4 should be priced Audi Q4 etron.
It is time to wake up: very soon Chinese manufacturers will build their cars in Mexico and flood the USA, Canada market with high quality, low price, high tech EVs.
VW has pathetic sales of ICE cars in the USA. What this company is thinking? Its sales plunged in China.
I was excited until I found out they deleted the physical controls. I don’t mind a touch screen, but not when it comes to anything that needs adjusting while driving. That’s a non-starter for me.
It's actually not really s problem.
You've got a lot of proper keys on the steering wheel, and you've got the sliders for the AC.
There isn't that much more you need to adjust while driving anyway.
Every time I go to the Bay Area, it's CRAZY how many white Teslas are on the road! I thought that was a funny comment lol. It's great, don't get me wrong, but hey, let's throw in some Mach-Es, Ioniqs, or BMWs. I did see at least 3 cyber trucks so I mean that tells you the taste level -____-
I love to be anonymous nowadays. I hated when my M3 was rare and got attention on the parking lots.
The main takeaway for me was trolling to find a charging station only to find they are all in use and waiting around for one to free up. Seems like people will become slaves to feeding the savage beast….
I personally spend less time "fueling" since buying an EV. Takes 10 seconds to plug in at home and she's good to go in the morning. Full "tank" at the start of every day.
I don't miss freezing my butt off at a gas pump every single week.
That boy whistelin like an old man from Family Guy
Yay for old folks! Paper owner's manual all the way! 🙂
Without one pedal driving, the ID4 is a hard pass.
One pedal driving is just plain dangerous on winter roads. I've had a car completely lose traction because one pedal braked too aggressively.
@@CoolTies That is why no car defaults to it being active on start up; it always has to be driver-initiated. You shouldn't use OPD on a free-flowing highway (for the sake of efficiency) nor should you use it in overly-slippery conditions for the reason you stated. For in-city driving and stop-and-go highway traffic jams, OPD makes driving so much more enjoyable.
