No matter how bad of a day you have an episode of deer meat for dinner always lifts your spirits.
This year in New Jersey the bait runs and fishing was just magical. Tuna in the Raritan Bay, giant fluke, huge schools of massive stripers, blue claws, everything was just amazing this year.
I’m from south Jersey I currently live in Washington state now but, how is the blue fish going ?
@@kenhaywood1452 blue fish were here in bunches earlier this year. Gator blues every cast up to 30lbs. The striper run this fall and spring was insanity. Every fish this fall is an oversize, like 40lbs plus. NJ fluke was incredible this year also
When I lived in Dorchester Mass. back in the mid 70's we would go down to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard for a bucket of squid. Me, My Dad and older brother would go out almost every 2 nights. I wish both were alive today to see these videos and tell the kids what fun we had.

It's great to see Paul back in your videos. He is extremely entertaining. This video takes me back to my childhood 50 years ago when I used to fish off the docks in Nantucket as we sailed around Cape Cod and the islands for the summer.

Robert, I went Humboldt squid fishing out of Bodega Bay, CA (scene of the movie, The Birds) about 15 years ago. The squid were down about 800 feet when we started catching them... up to about four feet in length. Bring them onto the deck and the deckhands would pull them off the lures and then drop back down. They aren't the most intelligent things in the world. As they watched their (caught brothers) being cranked up, they would follow them until the squid were in less-than 50 feet around the boat. Then, it became drop the line in the water, wait 15 seconds until one grabbed the lure and crank them in. After a couple hours the deck of the boat was like a foot deep in squid and you just sloshed your feet through them when you walked.
What you DIDN'T say in the video, their feeler tentacles wrap around the lure and instead of trying to get away when caught, they hold on tighter, refusing to let go of their next meal. And yes... I haven't had Calimari for two days... not since I took my wife to lunch.

Bob has an insane amount of knowledge! was great learning from him watching how he prepared the squid, told about how they used to use the spines as pen quills, and also how to use the strips as a fluke bait which anyone who fishes already knows would be killer!!!
I’ve lived in Massachusetts 35 years of my life and now live in Atlanta . Mass has some of the best sea food in the world along with some of the best fishing. So glad you got to experience some of that life. Love your content Brother god bless 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great vidio Robert, I grew up on nantucket . Of all the places I've lived growing up as a navy brat Nantucket was my favorite place . Then it would have to be here in fla, where I've lived for many years now

Calamari is my favorite to eat but all my favorite live deep drop bait.If you tie a glow stick to your line it attracts more to calamari to your lure.
