When the world is falling apart, Sam is my vacation.
Sam, you should write a cruising book outlining all your adventures, tips coming in to ports, what anchorage was like, where you found places to resupply, etc. A book all us watchers and sailers would buy to sail your path. It would allow more novice sailers to have a guide book to sail in same areas.
The best time I had sailing was watching a Sam vid.
You could invest in a Vacuum sealer, it would work well for you sealing all the veggies and meat and fruit. LG Canada
The best time I have had sailing was when I had no working motor in my Tartan 27. Sailing the East Coast, I spent many nights at sea and learned to be a real sailor. I never had to worry about the motor breaking down 😆
I agree. You are forced to learn to get in and out of harbor and more.

I want to say Everyone that sails should learn those skills.
But its upto the sailor really.

sailing can be, as you might know, moments of peak experience, tranquility and bliss to shear terror. Your ability to stay at ease and mindful is extraordinaire, hence this is the best vid so far. Your humanity and kindness shines through. One tip, don't say hate. Strongly dislike but not hate. The ability to hate is not in your nature.....It's a common mistake we have all made. Let's hear it for unavailable ziploc bags. Wish I had a nickel for every one that's ever blown into the sea. You can get these robust reusable rubbery ones back in the States--maybe silicone?--last a long, long time.

Hey Sam some of those harmonic balancers are filled with a gel that gets hard over time you might need to replace your harmonic balancer this and my previous post about the fuel injectors being checked for balance also if after you replace your engine mounts you still feel harsh vibrations.

Hi Sam, What is the bottom like for anchoring? are you able to always find a sand patch or do you anchor in rocks, or gravel sometimes?
I think there was some sand by the town but gravel and rocks by the island
I don't recall how long ago it was, perhaps 3 years or so, that you installed those mast steps. I'm curious what your opinion is of the type you used as far as performance, reliability, durability, maintenance, etc.
The work for climbing the mast and I’m glad to have them but they’re not very good quality castings and sometimes open on their own or dont close all the way. They also catch halyards just as much as the nonfolding ones so I wouldn’t recommend this model of step.

last year if recall corectly you installed an ultra sound antifouling system. Had you had any results by now?.
And would you recomend them?.
It’s been working pretty good. It will be interesting to see what it looks like when I get back to my boat and March because then it will be sitting in the water and not moving for several months.
@@samholmessailing The thing is, I have just recently bought an Colombia 27 to live on and go crusing around Australia wear i live in qweensland and i am interested as the device may help to keep the costs down. Everything is expensive now but itd still cheaper to live on an boat.
I will be starting an ytube channel next week on the new boat. So keep an eye out for that as well.

Chinese 12 volt chest freezers may be the answer to your low batteries. Mine uses 31 watts and rests. It can freeze very easily. 22 liters, and it's very inexpensive.
