Was born in 99 and I lost my father when I was 6. This game is the single thing that makes me feel even remotely connected to him. He was 26 at the time he died but I remember him ALWAYS playing halo. I remember him playing on online I remember going to Halo system link meet ups, I even remember my mom playing with him. After he was gone I inherited his old school xbox and played only Halo CE and Halo 2 until Halo 3 came out. This games means so much more to me than any bungie or 343 ind. employee could ever know. Oh how I miss the good ol days too. I remember when it was soo easy to find a custom game match and play custom for hours making friends and having fun. And lets not forget the halo youtube scene before it was really a thing, like when red vs blue were still youngins, arby n the chief, dues ex machina hahaha Anyways sorry about the long comment I just felt what you all said.

A lot of these trailers, the 1st Wars one and Reach especially really show the absolute terror and strength of the of the Covenant. I think we forget about that when we’re mowing down rows of them as Chief, but the bravery of the Marines and ODSTs is awesome. One of the reasons I think Reach and ODST are the best.
i really liked odst because of the firefight mode. it was awesome and there were stakes in it, it wasnt just a mod-able sandbox like it was in reach and the games after

Man I'll never forget the live action halo 3 with the ODSTs fighting just to find out where chief is going to land at. That one took so much effort to make.
8:14 That one is my favorite, it makes you think of how terryfing the war would be for a marine, not even H3 ODST can portray that. Something like Doom Eternal and Doom 3, In one you're that thing the enemies fear, in the other one you're just a soldier trying to survive. Most of time we take control of a supersoldier, taller, stronger, faster, with better armor and shields that will do wonders to keep you alive, and we still struggle sometimes. Just imagine what it would be to not have any of that.
Well pretty much all of the supersoldiers also died, even Noble 6, so it'd probably be absolutely terrifying for everyone involved. John only survived Reach because he had a bunch of Spartan IIIs sacrificing themselves to protect the Pillar of Autumn, and Reach itself was pretty much a suicide mission for anyone not on the Pillar.
Master Chief is also scary to the lower covenant, but I think most of the elites see him as a worthy challenge more than anything. People forget that Elite's are crazy strong, incredibly fast, often have cloaking technology, and their shields can take an absolute pounding before they go down, and if you don't kill them from range quickly they are going to eviscerate you with hot plasma. Elite's basically handicap themselves by focusing on close combat and refusing to use anything but ceremonial armor and stealth and are still super dangerous, imagine if they used their tech to make an exoskeleton like the MJOLNIR. Meanwhile the Brute's are strong enough to tangle with Spartan's in close combat and win (larger brutes are significantly larger and heavier than Chief in his most recent MJOLNIR, they are more than half a tonne of muscle), they can survive ridiculous injuries, and they often have weapons that can instantly kill you through cover.
So for a normal soldier dealing with that, how exactly do you deal with those enemies unless you use far superior tactics. I always thought that the ODST have to be augmented, not to the degree of a Spartan obviously, but they are clearly way more dangerous than normal troops, and why wouldn't they give them super future steroid's. Even then, the only reason why many of them survived is that the Covenant underestimated the human forces.
Played a mod called halo 3 odst realism which among a lot of other things completely removes the stamina mechanic. Any damage goes straight to your health. Really puts perspective into how deadly the human covenant war was.
I really like that the Remember Reach trailer shows how the original Nobel 6 died, and how Kat lost *her right arm*. As those points are never really explained in the actual game. Then, Enter the "New Noble 6". Quote Jorge: "So that's our new Noble 6?"

It is so amazing to think, that from humble beginnings of Halo 1 CE, the franchise turned into this epic. What an incredible journey and I feel soo privileged to be alive for it. Halo deserves its status as one of the greatest videogame series of all time.
Anything with halo 3, ODST or Reach stamped in the trailer to this day gives me chills.

its 2021 right now and i'm still sitting here playing all the halos and watching all the trailers that they made trying to get those memories back from when i was a little boy.
How to make a great halo trailer
Step 1: make a battleground scenery
Step 2: make sure the characters featured barley talk or not talk at all
Step 3: have some slow sad/calm or halo ost music
E.g. remember reach 3:57, halo 3 believe 8:13, halo 3 “start night” 1:08, halo wars 2 “I know you” 6:09

Halo Reach Deliver Hope is my favourite halo cinematic of all time, emotional, epic and it shows how the original Noble Six (Thom) sacrificed himself.

For a second i thought you were talking about the noble six you play as then i did remember that he was a replacement for somebody else in the beginning. Its crazy when you think about it, both noble six's sacrificed themselves in suicide missions. One died before the rest of the team the other died at the very end. The second noble six death always made me sad the most out of any of them, secondly would be cat but the others died heroically. Cat shouldve gotten the cahnce to sacrifice herself like everyone else besides emile who was just snuck

Agreed. I wish they'd ended the series there though. It seemed from the Halo 3 ending (non-legendary) and from the Believe trailers that they'd originally planned to end it after Halo 3. It would have been perfect. I'm not saying the latter games were bad, but they feel unnecessary.

Noble six was an Assassin trained in the art of stealth, and breaking necks with ease, tagged Hyper Lethal Vector, only other known person with that tag is Masterchief, with good reason, all of his training, assisted by the whole of Noble team, they made an impact on the story, if it weren’t for Spartan B112 a fragment of Cortana could have been left behind, you know her she does her research.

Lieutenant Cutter and Atriox are such a great match against each other. You really wouldn't wanna go up against either, it's just amazing. I'd love to see Chief and Cutter fighting Atriox and Atriox with Cortana or something like that.
You can definitely tell the difference between the Bungie story inspired commercials and the 343 story commercials.
The ones that cause a lump in your throat and almost cause a tear to form at the corner of your eye are the Bungie commercials.
I don't know about anyone else but when I dreamt of a Halo tv show. I dreamt of these Bungie created commercials brought to live action.
It is soo sad what we got instead. Who needs heroic Spartans and ODST sacrificing themselves in order to give humanity, that is on the brink of extinction, the HOPE to continue fighting against an overwhelmingly superior alien Covenant, hell bent on the eradication of every man, woman, and child.

Must've been slightly confusing for all the other MCPOs in the UNSC Navy. Also, I imagine every MCPO in the world was teased at least a little when Halo CE came out.
What're you talking about? That's how it's always been. Chief refuses to advance past that because he'd stop being enlisted so his rank sort of became his nickname. Chief is just that badass I guess that he turned a navy rank into his name.

Puny Stitch 343 doesn't have Martin O'Donnell who did Halo's 1 - Reach but Halo 4 & 5 still had good soundtracks, however there is some hope Marty could come do Halo 6 as he is not a Bungie anymore.

Man I’d kill for a cinematic on the space battles of reach, assault on greater ark in forerunner war or even final battle before rings fired. Halo cinematics are so good but really would love to see a big space battle cinematic
This game has a history that will never be beaten in my opinion. What it’s done for people and how it’s kept a community since day 1 is just unreal. I grew up playing this and got attached from day 1 to all the characters, bought every single game whether it’s bad or not. Just love playing it. Some of these trailers still give me goose bumps 🙂 we love Reach❤️

Captain Del Rio was a moron who would abandon the best asset to humanity for no real reason other than he was a scared little bitch with a superiority complex. And then there is fucking Captain Keys. The crazy bastard who carries around a pistol with no ammo, gets captured, then saved, then immediately goes back out and gets captured once again where he dies from being infected. Why is the god damn hell is the captain of the ship out on the front lines in the first place and only in a nice shirt and pants too? Doesn't even have a helmet on or have his weapon drawn.

When I watched the MCC trailer with Locke I honestly really liked his design and it would have worked best if he was a silent character like the rookie. While we played as Master Chief, Locke would be hunting Chief down in the background.

6:09 is my favorite trailer of all time for Halo. I always loved the flow and music to it. The way the generals stand at the front the epic time slowing down to a stop and starting.

Halo Reach. Man that game will always be one of my favorite games of all time. Met so many awesome people and played on their non-stop. I seriously miss those days of playing with so many random people on a custom game just through other friends.
Edit: Can we all also appreciate Keith Davids for voicing The Arbiter. What an amazing job he did and how well it sounded and fit him. Always thought Arbiters voice was the most badass and best voice to listen to.

I'm really upset about the outcome of Halo 5's story. The marketing in comparison to the game was such a stark contrast, Hunt the Truth was brilliant and then they made a really dull campaign which had possibly one of the most generic ending plot twists that you can have
Rumours of a rewrite still exist, even if it had to be very early on.
It is the middle of a trilogy so the ending was expected
To me the story wasn't to bad.....but yes I agre the story needs changes ,,but at the same time it gave me that "losseing feeling" at the end during reach and at the beging if gave me"there's the enemy shoot the enimey go home" feel, which is what made halo so great in the first place you have that feeling that your just there to kill the bad guys but deep down you knownits a losseing fight with tons of causltys but the good guys still come out on top,,but in conclusion the story needs ...changes..not a rewright

@@rancoorta3391 tbh if even the music was more balanced the game would have been better story wise. They really only needed like 3 more missions in order for it to convey the story better. Add some more to it. you know?
8:20 arguably one of the best video game commercials of all time. it managed to display the love and care bungie had for the franchise without saying a single word all while giving us something to marvel at.
The Halo World is amazing. So much passion in it's creativity. A very extensive story.
We had these. The games, countless books and references.
And we wound up with paramount and that .... thing of a show

The best Halo games in my opinion are Halo 2, Reach, 3 and ODST. Halo 1 and 4 are good, Spartan Assault, Spartan Strike, Wars and it’s sequel are decent, and Halo 5 is the weakest entry in the franchise.
