This game had to be played through twice
In order to get the bracelet or ring to defeat Sardius at the end.

Though this is the hardest game I have ever played, it is still one of my favourite old Nintendo games.

3 headed boss lag was the true boss there....
Wow, you lucked out there a couple of times, Storm Cesaris in particular can end you at will with her shots if you don't hit her often enough, Beruaroken could've been trouble had he thrown his arms more often, and there were some close calls with Astaroth and Nebiroth (but then, there always are). Nevertheless, nicely played, that game is hard!
it's still stupid how there is a time limit in these type of games :p
It's more ridiculous as to why they have a hi-score. Time limits exist due to the arcade nature of the game, and to prevent players from overcoming the game by using ultra cautious strategies. The last level is only one where the time limit can cause issues.
Mitjitsu i like scores gives a nostalgic feel to it :p
That's what made these games challenging to play and part of why they were so much fun. Were you alive when this game was released? (I'm not being mean, I'm just curious.)

Impressive. Especially so, given that Super Ghouls and Ghosts can be rather unforgiving, at times. (What, no Arthur in his boxer shorts vs Sardius?) I generally don't bother grabbing the bracelet until near the end of the 7th stage (2nd play through), when I know I'll need it. And I usually prefer to have the gold armor with it, too (it might not have a spell attack, but the bracelet with gold armor has the ability to nullify projectiles [including Astaroth and Nebiroth's flame attacks], plus a slightly longer range).

the last boss is so silly the previous much harder
Lucifier dies even faster, sure his lasers are hard to avoid but the Psycho Cannon does so much damage it takes him out in 6 seconds

@@NicholasVetter-sy8io I believe to avoid religious references since certain companies wouldn't allow Christian imagery to be shown, which is why games like Bomberman II on the NES had it's Crucifix on a church removed or how Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts had them taken out too

Huh, so that's what beating each boss legitimately looks like. I just magic armor + scythe magic (tornado) the field all the time.

Would it be possible for you to do Ecco the Dolphin? It's an insanely hard game with a really creepy first boss, which seems to be right up your alley.

Ecco the Dolphin is one of the best Cthulu inspired games ever. It becomes insane later on

Set jump to A button, then you can press Y and B at same time to fire faster. Then get close to boss and hammer both buttons and they go down quicker.

After getting the golden armor, ALWAYS get the knife.
Believe me, I learnt it the hard way.
The minor enemies were worse than the bosses ... especially that one demon which flies around, chases you and dodges most of your weapons ...

I dunno about 'last'. The 'Maximo' games were spiritual sequels to these.

Tell me why the final boss (that you have to beat the game 2 times to fight) seemed the easiest to beat. You dusted him in like a lil over a Minuit lol.
I have never managed to beat this game, sadly, despite making attempts for years. I’ve made it as far as Level 5 (the icy mountain), but I always have the biggest struggle in Level 3 (the cavern). Why? Because of Firebrand. SUCH a pain to hit!
Red arremers are way easier if you have the bow while wearing at least green armor because it becomes a homing weapon
@@arthursnyder6935 I know. But both getting the armor, and *keeping* it, have always been a struggle for me. I’m not an expert gamer, and I don’t have the reflexes to play this game without taking damage or losing lives.

TBH SGaG was more managable then nes prequel.
Way more so. Ghouls & ghosts is way more difficult and ghosts and goblins not far off, both of which with some insane enemy patterns and respawns. Super gng far more manageable with only really some of the jump timing being tricky
This is especially so if you get the crossbow

Mushroom Head Reminds me of the main demon villain from the ronin warriors.
What really bugs me is that the face on his torso is on your side.
Can’t believe they made Lucifer the final boss of the Switch remake and not Sardius.
The true final boss is actually Hades but he looks quite different than in Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins

Why do you have 4 minutes on Nebiroth? You can have 2, maximum 2 and a half minutes for this boss. This must be one of the most unforgiving levels ever. How did you score 4 minutes for Nebiroth?!

How did Sardius become the leader of the Demon Realm ? Astaroth and Loki fought Arthur to death, while this lazy bum just went down without a fight. Had Sardius literally put his foot down he could have solved many problems plaguing the Demon Realm.

Man, the bosses in the SNES version are kinda meh compared to the bosses in the Genesis, especially the final boss, and I say this as a total SNES fanboy.

@@StaticTV80 There is a version that removes the vast majority of lags from the game, proving that the fault is not Super Nes but Capcom, who did a horrible job in optimizing the game.
This isn't that hard at all. Using the bracelet for some is op. Dagger??? Easiest way to kill. Try fire only. That would make this better. Look up Pjdesicre. Fastest times and best boss kills. Finishes these bosses better than this video.
So this game is where DBZ and YU-GI-OH got the idea of fusion from. The fourth boss is a combination of three baby naga dragon lamia thing as in fu-sion-ha. Also I don't really like this game. The fact you move super slow compared to Ghost N Goblins and Ghouls N Ghosts and the fact you are restricted to throwing horizontal since you are no longer able to shoot upwards or downwards which is a huge step backwards compare to Ghouls N Ghosts where you shoot in four directions. Thank goodness the PSP game you can shoot up and down again and move a little faster.
crossbow? lets you attack vertically
There’s many reasons why in my opinion this game sucks! One, the weapon storage works the way it does in Castlevania, and two this thing works on Mario rules where you only have 2 hit points instead of a whole health bar
