The body held up beautifully. I once had a Chevy truck whose body fell apart around the 350 engine.

89k miles a year. 100% towing even if the trailers are empty sometimes that trailer is heavy.
Id consider buying a high mileage truck from you guys seeing how good the truck looks after 3/4 million miles

In the equipment world they will have a sticker that will say 9000hrs (or whenever the meter broke) + current odometer

Set the new odometer back to zero, dealers around me do that and then there’s a certificate that gets stuck in the driver door jam that states the odometer was replaced and at what miles it was replaced

Paul looking at 3/4 ton. Have ford 6.7 2016 been good to me. 180k with no issues. How is rams 3/4? Or gmc? May just buy another ford and no issues at that many miles. Not a hotshot guy, just looking something to tow our rv
Ram is the best truck on the market .I’m always had Chevrolet and ford moved to ram 2006 and have stayed with ram .
The best as in what. Cause tundras mow these trucks over in realibility! The Toyota 3URFE gas engine can reach diesels miles with ease and the Asin transmission go forever.

Impressive. I sold my 18 with 399k. Nothing major done to it other than injectors. My brothers 18 is kissing 500k with way more engine hours than mine had and he’s got literally nothing wrong either. All small stuff on both that you’d expect. Front passenger hub assembly. U joint. Alternator etc GREAT TRUCKS

Hey man love the videos. I have a 2018 with a aisin my self and tow quite often. I had some weird temps happening while not towing, non of the temps were very hot just lots of fluctuating temps on the tranny. just had a check engine light go and it’s saying low line pressure on the transmission I check fluid and seemed a bit low but nothing to be to worried about and added a bit of fluid and had it come on a again. Temps doing the same thing still. Truck had filter and fluid changed on tranny about 10 000miles ago.. any advice or have had anything like this? My buddy had a scanner that how I know the code. Thanks
I had the same thing happening with my 68RFE on my 2017 Ram. It always happened at high altitude towing about 15,000 lbs. As far as I can figure it was cavitation of the transmission fluid by running it near its limits. I have since started towing a 6000 lb RV and at the same altitude no longer have a problem. The truck would shudder and set a code, then drive fine until the check engine light went out on its own.
I had a shop try to tell me that I needed a turbo on my 2011 3500 Ram, all it needed was an actuator, had a hard time finding some who would just change the actuator, I would have done it myself but I didn't have access to a way to calibrate the actuator.
Geno's garage has one that doesn't need calibration by City Diesel $900
@@donhyatt8034 Since that debacle I've found a place called circuit board medics that will sell the actuator and rent you a fob to calibrate the actcuator that has to be returned. I'm going to check out the one on Geno's garage. Thanks!

Mobil 3309 on the trans. Schaffers gear oil on the rear.

My truck says it has no driving time andnall idling hours despite being 120k miles. Leave it to RAM? 🤷🤦

@FRP , he only mentioned on the 2021 truck that was idling for 3 days Storm. Truck should have been idling at high speed since ram trucks have that option for long idling time.

@@t1nt0p yes that’s the reason why I have it in all my trucks. 4k, park mode, easy access to videos in case something happens. Also it’s 2 channel. Front and rear cameras
Looks like changing gear oil more often might be cheaper than replacing rear end. Fresh gear oil is what keeps everything lubricated and protected. Dirty fluid is what helps equipment wear out fast and fail.
Yeah I've thought that as well. Maybe a heavier weight as well. Probably cost $50 in fluid? It's only 5 quarts of 75w-90. Maybe a 140w would be a good idea if he isn't already. Hell, I run that in my Tacoma for what it tows.
@FRP , heavy will not do good in ram trucks, it's different design than tacoma. Ram wheel bearings lubricated by gear oil, and needs to be thin enough to reach the wheels. Changing gear oil every 50k miles vs 100k miles.
Tacoma wheel bearings not lubricated by the gear oil, these are sealed bearings lubricated by grease.
@@repairvehicle the hot oil viscosity while towing is way less than empty driving or driving with the axle cold. 75w140 is about as thick as 50 weight engine oil when both are at 100°C. No problem reaching the bearings. They're in an oil bath anyways... Keep in mind all the bearings inside the third member are open bath in every truck I can think of.
That said, maybe more frequent changes to keep the ram bearings clean would be all that's needed.
@FRP , thick oil does not provide proper lubrication when it's cold. Fresh fluid with proper viscosity has no substitute. There's no oil bath for rear wheel bearings on ram.

We use schaffers oil and oem filter. Either Mopar or fleetguard oil filters. I used to use Donaldson

@ALEX , wix has two different types. Just like fleetguard guard has two different types. 50s technology media and 2000s filter media. Filter media made from wood and synthetic filter media.

Don't you just love it when people who don't have a clue talk about how the Cummins engine is great but the rest of the truck not so much? I hear that all the time and it simply isn't true. Chrysler makes a fine truck. The engine is great and the truck it's mounted in is great too. There are many high mileage examples out there still tearing up the pavement.
Yes it true! I had a fourth gwn woth the hemi and it was a POS! Leaks exhaust mabifolds bolts broke interior parts prematurely wearing out. Yes these are junk trucks!
No offense man dodge trucks aren't inherently robust, but they can work, any of the big three truck manufactures are great trucks in their own right.
But if your saying that dodge and Chrysler put out better vehicles then the other two then your high man there's no competition, there's a reason there are conversion kits for dodges to get super duty brakes, and NOT vice versa
I work on these trucks and see similar very high mileage hot shot driven trucks come in for maintenance. I agree they are very well built.
@@nativeoutdoors1780 you should watch the 2019 big three take on the Ike gauntlet in Colorado. Ram has superior braking. 220 retarding horsepower with the aisin. Ford and Chevy couldn't hold 30000 pounds back on the down grade. You better do some research. I guess that's why semis are not made with v8s.

I never said cummins makes a bad truck I said dodge makes a bad truck, but it still works, but it doesn't compete with its chinese differential bearings and front end bushings. Sorry guys, I did forget the injectors. They got swapped out at 500k due to a service station mixing fuels in one of their underground tanks. When we drained the fuel tank, it looked like a def and diesel mixture.

What's the history for your trucks and power steering pumps? My truck has 287k and my power steering pump has been wining for about half the year and getting worse so I ordered a new one because I don't like the feel of the wine through the brakes.
You may consider sucking the steering reservoir dry and refilling every oil change... It's not much fluid and helps keep the system clean.
It's because you never changed your power steering fluid. It's only good for 50k miles. I have done fluid analysis at 48k miles from ram 3500 cummins and fluid was junk no longer suitable for use.
My guys pulled the oil out of the reservoir each oil change. They get about a cup or so. Gear box and pump all original. It's hard to believe, but it is.

Bought a older Tundra same amount of miles and littlerly zero issues! The teucks sucks and the toyoya 3urfe 5.7 goes diesel miles in realibility!
@@fredwilliams7893 yeah I know there are models that don't lend themselves well, but there are those that do. I had an f150 that I sold at 275,000. Sold it to a buddy who still drives it with 350,000. My current f150 has 213'000 on it. Both have been great to me.
