ImNova yup now I wish I can play it more now that I’m older and I also wish that Emile and Kat are gonna go on sale for gears 5 so I can buy them if not I’m gonna be a spoiled bitch and just buy the ultimate edition even though I just have the standard
Halo Reach has to be one of the best games I've ever played, why? You might ask, because it's the only game I've ever played where to win, you have to lose.
What I absolutely loved about Carter's death was how calm and decisive he was before willingly flying his bird into the Scarab. There was none of the "No! You can't! There has to another way!" BS from Emile or 6 and there were no cheesy last words from the boss himself. He had the means to end it, and he did! And Emile's last words to him just showed how much respect the man commanded from the rest of Noble; "Solid copy. Hit 'em hard, boss!" Fucking LOVED Reach!
damm I hear u brother, best game, never forget it,from clans to clans, making different enemys, different friends, different maps, halo reach was sure the best game ever. so much memories
I think everyone is missing the point here. All of their deaths seemed meaningless at that moment. Jorge sacrificed his life to blow up a cruiser, and right after that 20 more of them show up to take its place. Kat was randomly shot in the head from a sniper she never saw. Carter’s death just bought you more time. Emile went out fighting for no reason. All of their deaths, including 6’s, had no meaning. That’s until you reach the end of the game. All your hard work and loss of allies pays off when you finally get Cortana to her destination. The moral of the story is not everyone gets a grand and meaningful death if you look at them as a singular being, but as soldiers, their deaths contributed to the bigger picture. The UNSC climbed their bodies to reach the hard earned victory.
NPC 2 well destiny is still alive... I don’t think it’s shit, also same team did the stories, and last you know it’s the same TEAM THAT MADE HALO, if you insult destiny you are basically unsalted halo
I always took the line more as Emile knowing what he signed up for. He knew that being a Spartan his time would come. So he was ready to die when his time came.
You can walk to Emile and the elites bodies after the mission and the knife is in the opposite side of the neck from where he first stabbed him, showing that he most likely stabbed him again while they were falling. What a legend
@@dustychimp1171 idk if the cutscenes is based on where your character is standing but there was a solid few seconds they rolled off the big gun and the camera showed me the wall with a bunch more grunting. I think you're right, he got stabbed some more..
The saddest part about Halo Reach is not really the deaths of the members of Noble Team except Jun. It's the fact that if you've read the canon material for SPARTAN-IIIs, you'll know that the majority of the public will never know their story. SPARTAN-IIIs were created to be literal "disposable heroes", and the public could never find out that ONI had authorized their use and training. No large ceremony will ever be held for any of them in recognition for their efforts.
Vic diz actually im pretty sure in canon when they terraformed and recolonized reach they erected a memorial for noble team but our 6 was missing from it because he was an oni asassin
@@IvanIvanovv probably a PR move for ONI. They gotta show that they *still* care for the troops on the front lines and stuff. That or as miracle stories, similar to why the SPARTAN-IIs were even publicized in the first place.
Vic diz I believe it was actually made by the first colonists back on reach because noble had saved them. However technically our 6 didnt exist because ONI wiped his existence because he did some sketchy asassin stuff
This is what a Spartan team is supposed to be like. In Reach, you care about all of Noble Team, and all of their deaths resonant within you. In Halo 5: Guardians however, all the Spartans on Team Osiris and Blue team are bland as fuck and have no personality. Such a shame that Halo 5's campaign, story, and characters were fucking terrible.
+The Act Man Well not saying i read the books or anything but blue team has alot of backstory and shiz but osiris were like robots i only got exited for em cuz of buck :D btw wants a muffin?
Yea but not of Blue Team's backstory was showed to us in Halo 5. As far as Halo 5's campaign goes, Blue Team and Osiris are both made up of robots with almost no personality and no motivations, even Locke and Chief. Yea gimme dat muffin!!
But the one we all will remember “reach has been good to me, time has come to return the favor don’t deny me this....tell her to make it count” from noble 5 AKA Jorge -052. Rest In Peace noble 5 your sacrifice will not be forgotten
The most shocking part about Reach was how Jorge thought he ended the Invasion, and it seems so at first. Then the full force arrives, and at that point Reach is totally Doomed. As a Kid it blew my mind and I just knew it would be hopeless.
I’d argue he had it best, he died instantly in a slipspacebomb thinking he’s a hero, unlike Kat who had been taken before they could do a *noble sacrifice*
@@mentra1 Wasn’t a bomb. It teleported the ship into oblivion, basically a random point in space. Though he probably did die instantly because you can’t survive a slip space jump without shielding.
For those of you who somehow don't get what she's implying, she's talking about Halo 4 onward, and how that unfortunate part of the series has been a disgrace to the story of Halo in its entirety. Microsoft took what was a beautifully established, well-written masterpiece of a science fiction series and dumbed it down to mundane clichés and too heavy a focus on gameplay over an engaging, meaningful storyline. The end result being that the series still makes them plenty of money--courtesy of the younger portion of the gaming community who often never played the widely regarded classic installments of the franchise, but who are contented with whatever hollow, mindless shoot-'em-up can pique their interest for any substantial amount of time, be it Halo 5, or a meaningless battle royale like Fortnite. So, back to our dearly departed Noble Team. Jorge, Noble 5, gave his life thinking his sacrifice would cripple the Covenant invasion and save Reach. In the epilogue of the game, Dr. Halsey eludes to you--or rather, Noble 6--that your sacrifice was enough for the Master Chief to get a hold of Cortana, a duo whose efforts would eventually lead to the defeat of the Covenant and the elimination of the Flood. Which, if Microsoft and 343 had the decency to let go of one of their favorite cash-cows, would've been a fitting end for Halo. *+lexa aruges* is implying that Noble 6, like Jorge, died thinking his sacrifice would lead to a victory, and that this is tragically not the case, as Microsoft and 343 kept making Halo games and proceeded to run the series into the ground.
Noble 6 actually felt like you compared to master chief, who felt like a godlike unkillable plot armor. The only halo game where the spartan in the campaign is completely you.
+Just S (Xero) It's also the one game where you know that the Spartans aren't invincible. In the other Halos, MC and the others feel invincible. In this one, you know 6 is screwed from the start. That's why I love Reach
The songs before and after lone wolf are dark but during the fight it sounds almost like proud music like you're doing what a warrior does, fight until the end.
13:08 probably the most disturbing and most goriest scenes in Halo is when that elite tears noble 6's face apart twice before eating his brain ruclips.net/video/8BxIs1lWUbY/видео.html
I now realize why he sent jun with Halsey "make sure nothing falls into enemy hands" And then June's response "I'll do what's necessary sir" he wanted June to kill her incase something happened
Everyone keeps saying that Kat's death was anticlimactic but I believe it's perfect. I may be a bit biased because of this but I'm quite tired of the overly extreme deaths that games and TV shows always try to portray. This one comes quick. The reaction of simple silence I feel is perfect because it sets the mood amazingly. Their sister in arms was taken away from them out of no where and all they can do is look in disbelief. There's nothing to say. All they can feel is the drop in their heart. What else can you say? It's just overall depressing and I love it because it's so on point. Credit needs to be given where it's due and if the goal is to tell a story, this is how it's done.
It also set you up for the other deaths. After Jorge dies, you are sad, but not really expecting anyone else to die, especially after the explosion. Then Kat gets shot out of nowhere and it just sets the mood of the game from there.
That's exactly it. This game is dark and when it starts you don't exactly get that feel but how they set it up hits hard and you never stop getting hit through the entire game. R.I.P. Noble Team.
+Tommy Patterson (TakedaZX) So true, man. Not everybody gets a Boromir death like Noble Six did. Not that I would know, but I'd imagine there are a lot of times in real battles where it's just bang. Gone. This game is actually really depressing, but I just love all of these guys' (and girl's) sense of duty, to their mission and to each other. Noble Six could've survived (and teamed up with Chief. Holy crap, how epic would that team be?!) but he chose to stay on Reach to avenge his teammates and die to defend Cortana's escape rather than escape to save his own life.
+Tommy Patterson (TakedaZX) What was perfect about it was the fact it was earlyish in the story. I couldn't have handled "GET IT OFF MY BACK" "IM UNDER FIRE" all the way through that game....
“You’re on your own, Noble. Carter out.” “I’ll do whats necessary. Good luck.” “Im ready! How bout you?!” “Tell ‘em to make it count.” “First glassing? Me too.” “Negative. I have the gun.”
Sad thing is. Jun was the only survivor. He went on to train spartan 4s. Imagine what’s going though his head. All the memories. I hope Jun appears in infinite in some way
He’s going to be an easter egg as one of the Spartan IV recruiters in the Academy segment in Halo Infinite. I think the VA’s different though but don’t quote me on that
Emile's death is the hardest for me because I realized after playing through Reach a second time that he had no intention of surviving. He'd lost his entire team save for Six, who he'd only known for a very short period of time. He'd seen Reach all but destroyed despite his best efforts, and it had only gotten increasingly hopeless even as he tried harder and harder. He did not want to live anymore. Even had he made it off Reach, if he hadn't been stabbed and somehow had made it onto the Pillar of Autumn, he wasn't himself anymore. He was a furious person with no self control.
@@onionenthusiast9832 I noticed that too actually. Hell, if fucking 343 Guilty Spark is still alive in the form of Chakas, and there's rumors of Sergeant Johnson and even Miranda Keyes being alive in some form, then I wouldn't doubt Emile could come back too.
@@onionenthusiast9832 yes but the spartan armor has a lockdown mode when the person is supposed t ok die it locks down and prevents it and the covenet glass the plant nothing can survive that
Actully dimer in the halo games master cheif has done this in a cut scene Sargent Johnson said we are going to leave him here then master cheif goes no your not but his amour locked and prevented him from dying so basically Emile was stabbed and a spartan can survive a energy sword from one stab but the armor would have stop Emile from dying he would have just been turned into a form of cryosleep
Emilie's last words were badass. He gets impaled and then turns around and pretty much just goes, if I'm dying, your coming with me! He actually says, "I'm ready! How about you!?" Then he brings the filthy alien down with him. RIP Emilie.
Spartan 3's were trained to do the missions that they knew could get them killed. Normal soldiers weren't tough enough, and a Spartan 2 was too valuable to send. They were all ready to die, and they were all willing if it came down to it.
10:39 this scene signifies how different spartan 3s were compared to the rest of the spartan program. You can hear how Emile feels defeated, and you can hear in carters voice that he knows he’s about to die. It makes spartan 3s special. They showed emotion unlike the other spartan programs who were trained not to show emotion. They aren’t cared for. This story shows how not all Spartans were treated like gods. Some were treated like dogs sent to places to die without a say. But they still put up a damn hell of a fight.
Unlike other Spartans 3 Noble team got Mjolnir and not SPI armor. They we're also treated like S2, they didn't send them on suicide missions. (The fall of reach was a suicide mission but there a lot of S2 and 3 died. Fred's team was composed of 22 spartans 2 and only 3 of them made it out alive: Fred, Will (he died shortly after though) and Kelly.)
Reach had the best infection mode to date. IMO reach's story isn't the best in the franchise but Halo Reach has the best multiplayer out of all them, even today.
"Negative. I have the gun." That line always hits me really hard. Probably bc Noble Six very clearly realizes he's going to die and has already accepted his fate.
Frank Bowman and his was probably the worst of the five because cats was so unexpected and emotional, craters was badass, as well as emiles plus everyone loved Emile, and six goes down killing like 10 elites before getting overpowered and it was awesome
Kat - Brains Of the team - Gets shot in the head. Jorge - Weapons Specialist - Dies from explosion Jun - Sneak and Sniper specialist - Escaped from the fall of reach Emile - Close Quarters Expert - Dies from getting stabbed by Elites Carter - Captain - Dies going down with the ship. Noble Six - Lone Wolf - Dies alone. Wow, never saw that coming, O_O
Jun the eye of Noble lived on to watch over them all. Jorge the heavy weapons specialist of Noble died via a massive explosion. Kat the mind of Noble was shot through the head. Carter the Leader of Noble went down with his ship Emile the Rage of Noble, a spartan who had a blade and preferred close quarters, DIED by the blade, And lastly Noble Six, The Lone Wolf, who was killed by multiple Covenant while s/he fought alone for the very last time. I have no idea if Bungie planned this, but looking back at it I have to respect how well thought it was.
for noble 6s death, it wasnt just a few covenant, it was ass tons of wraiths, shit tons of grunts, and FUCK tons elites. the elites you see in his cut scene where he dies, thats after the fact that he held off small armies, and got too wounded
Jorge was pretty sad. Mostly because of the repeating "Slip space rupture detected" followed by a scream. Emile's got me because he went out like a champ. He didn't quit until his last breath.
Emile was my favorite because he got stabbed with a sword half the size of his body and still had the strength to stab an Elite and yank it off of the platform, badass all the way.
This game honestly has a special place in my heart, Emile’s and 6’s deaths were pretty hard to take in, their deaths were so badass as well, every time I think about noble team, I tear manages to come out...
Arthur Morgan i missed these moments we dont see this kind of scenes in todays games !! All they want now is our money and the games are full of mtxs!! I missed those days 😞🤘🏻
Emile wanted to die. He had lost his entire team, save for Six who was a newcomer, and had seen Reach's destruction. He tried harder and harder and yet the situation became only more and more hopeless. At the end of the game, he had lost himself. He gave his life because he knew he wanted to.
Kat: “I know we’re losing....I want know if we’ve lost.” Kat’s death was the hardest for me, abrupt, right when we get to see positive conversation with her. And when you can hear her nervousness in how this was her “first glassing.” Being 13 years old when this came out and seeing someone who was supposed to be a badass video game character being afraid like that really got to me. Halo reach is by far the best game I have ever played.
Honestly, the "first glassing?" was the first time Kat was actually likable in the game. It was easy to sympathize with her in that moment. Prior to that she was just a smug annoying bitch who thought she knew more than she did. It's too bad that she died right after we finally got a moment where we liked her.
Kat's death is really sad to me. It's so shocking for a crucial character to get taken down out of the blue. Makes ya realize how despite their valorous deeds they're really just regular soldiers.
Same, now that I've gotten older, I actually understand things and seeing this made me want to play every halo again just so I could actually know what's happening.
I agree, I remember I got this game in 2011 and I was mad because the characters died and I thought I wasn't winning but now I understand. I haven't heard anything about this game in a while I'm likely getting this soon.
I was mad at first, then I realized you had to lose to win and to provide a better life for the others that came after all of their deaths. It’s better to know that they died for a significant meaning, not just because
One thing I found really remarkable is how at the end of the New Alexandria mission, when Kat died, it was August 23rd 2552. At the final cutscene of New Alexandria, when Carter was carrying Kat, it was August 26th 2552. That means Carter carried Kat’s body for 3 days to ensure she had a proper burial. It really shows the extent of the bond between them.
Man, I was a cold mofo then, because when I saw that he was carrying her body around, I yelled "what are you doing? LEAVE HER!". Like, all I saw was extra weight slowing him down and pointless sentimentality
*He gave his life thinking he'd just saved the planet. We should all be so lucky.* I'm not usually one to get choked up over a game, but that line always gets me for some reason
To me personally, a death of an important character in a story has to have a significance. And Halo Reach had one of the greatest symbolized deaths I've seen in video game stories. All of Noble Six deaths were reflected on their personalities, rank, history, etc. That's what I love about seeing a hero's/Villain's death. When it has a meaning of some kind.
Cole Cash no. Halo just has an ending at that point. Having an ending isn’t death, and plenty of franchises are dead from not having an ending and the companies trying to squeeze all of the money they can out of them.
damn I forgot how deep & shocking these deaths were to me. Well not Shocking, but surprising. (same thing I guess) *Jorge =* The first one to go, and the mark that tells you this is the end.... for us all. *Cath =* In my opinion the most shocking unexpected death. Never saw it coming, and a headshot at that. *Jun =* Left to live a mysterious death. A protector, but at the same time a fallen. *Carter =* One of the best non-cliches deaths by far. They knew what had to be done. So that's what he did. *Emile =* The best badass of the group, who went down by one, but his final time was hype, and unexpected. *Finally Noble Six =* No correction, you. Not only did the story gave you a story, but it made you feel important & canon to the story. It was you who fought for the planet. You who stood ground and honored your fallen friends to the end. Most of all, it was you who passed down the torch which started one of the biggest franchise in history. They could have ended it there... But then they glorified it with one extra piece.... Your death. If you thought nothing couldn't top Emile *epic* death, your death is by far *legendary* by taking it to the insanity. You stood behind so everyone can start the events of Halo 1, while you slaughter, and fight against any covenant that stood in your path. Even when you was pushed to the ground, you kept fighting until the final blow was struck (hence cue the final Elite with the sword) Halo Reach didn't just told a story, it made sure you was engraved in it. which makes it one of the best of the Halo games I've ever played.
For some reason I agree as well, and I loved the Halo 3 campaign. There was just something so personal and attached with the Halo Reach campaign. It has a special place in my heart and the heart of many players because of the sacrifice of this Noble Team. Never forget Reach.
Cortana: "But you belonged to Reach. Your body, your armor, all burned and turned to glass. Everything. Except..." Me: "Your helmet!" Cortana: "Your courage" Me: "right right right. But the helmet's still there too, right?"
Paul Monico cortana was created by a literal copy of halsey’s brain, so kinda, in a way yes Here, from the wiki: “According to her backstory, Cortana was constructed from the cloned brain of Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, the creator of the SPARTAN-II supersoldier project; Halsey's synapses became the basis for Cortana's processors”
Reblwitoutacause no I get that they are sort of the same person however they have completely different personalities as cortana says herself she likes crazy where Halsey really isn’t like that
Yeah I remember playing this with my brother it really brings me back and makes me emotional, this was my favourite halo campaign out of th m all for many reasons
Well, your memories CAN come back with Halo 5 as Carter's armour is already in the game and they are adding everybody else. The cool thing is how everybody except Kat looks exactly like they do in the game. Jun has the little thing around his neck, Jorge basically looks exactly like he did in Halo Reach (big backpack and the forearms and all), and Emile just. Looks. BOSS!!! But Kat doesn't have the robotic arm, though. And they haven't made the Halo Reach VERSION of Noble Six, apparently there is actually a helmet that looks exactly like Noble Six's helmet. The Decimator armour. Its basically just the Halo 5 Version of his armour. So yeah, thats cool.
Emile's death was too sad. I nearly cried my first time playing reach :( Some words to remember Emile: " (laugh) Big man always was sentimental." "I'll honor him in my own way." "Hit 'em hard, boss." "I'M READY! HOW 'BOUT YOU?" R.I.P. Emile you will be missed.
Remember that Spartan 3s were basically going to die anyway. If you've read Ghosts of Onyx, only Tom and Lucy survived Operation Torpedo. Lucy was so traumatized that she lost her voice but was still allowed to serve. Tom, Lucy, and Jun went on to be trainers for the Spartan IV program
Reach has one of my favorite campaigns in a video game, but the deaths of Noble are so sad. But anyways: Jorge, heavy weapons - dies in an explosion Kat, brains of the team - headshot Jun, stealth/sniper - disappeared Carter, leader - a saying that "a captain goes down with his ship", goes down with the ship Emile, CQC Expert - Dies from a blade Noble 6, lone wolf - was a lone wolf, died as a lone wolf.
@@namekssjgoku Higher rank on reach could took you 6 months with constant playing (not all day or night) I'm a 134 on Halo 5 and I've been playing 2 years... (Although I've been playing a lot of R6) to be honest.
i wish a pelican could have just scooped back and got 6. Hes insane lol. He may only be a spartan 3 but he is classified as hyper lethal. Just like master chief is.
@@luckyfrost722 no as in like after. He refused the first one cuz he had to but they could have just waited. After he destroyed the cruiser the pillar of autumn was safe. They coulda just picked him up
Raze Tempest naw, that covenant army was heavy. It was endless of them surrounding 6. Higher rankings as well. A pelican wouldn’t even be able to get near him. And even if It did, It definitely wouldn’t be able to leave through all that fire being taken.
So is it that they all represent an aspect of war? like; Noble 1 (blue) - Sacrifice/guilt - Carter at the beginning of the game is supposed to feel animoisty towards 6 becuase he is replacing thom, who was a life long friend of carter, who sacrificed himself destroying a ship, and blames himself for poor team planning, and later laments for jorge when he sacrifices himself destorying a ship, he later sacrifices himself sounding at peace when he rams the scarab for 4 and 6. Noble 2 (cyan) - strategy - Kat is regarded as the brains of the team, she is the one that comes up with the plans, suggesting on how to destroy dat cruiser with a slipspace bomb thing, later in new alexandria she is the one running a counter op to take out the jammers, she doesnt really do much else cos she dies quite early so yea. Noble 3 (green) - unpredictability - jun is the sniper of the team, so you never quite know where he is, he doesnt really talk much throughout the game and hes never really on screen for that long, so you never really know what hes thinking or what hes doing, his exit in sword base left his fate unknown, and yes he is bald, so watch out for him. Noble 4 (black) - chaos/savagery - Emile is a cqc expert who prefers shotguns and psychological warfare, carving a skull into his helmet, he dies plunging a knife into an elite, he masks his sadness with humour and the bio for him states "what he really wants is for the enemy to die" and is a parallel to Noble 5. Noble 5 (yellow) - hope - alright hear me out, when Jorge is in the mission, they are bright and set at daytime, he dies hopeful thinkin he just saved the planet. After he dies, the game takes on a darker tone with nightime, skyscrapers on fire, orange skies, civilian ships being shot down and all, and he parallels Emile who is more callous toward the covenant. Noble 6 (for me, red) - unknown soldier - Edens appearance is entirely based on what you want him to look like, he can be anyone, he is never refered to by name, only noble six or lieutenant, nobody sees how he dies, and he does it sacrificing his life for well eveyone on the pillar of autumn, he is a hero yet nobody knows who he is or how he dies, just like what happens in actual warfare. Just something to read instead of wow look at how ironic every characters exits are. also gg if you read all this
You gave one of Kat's traits to Carter. Kat was dismissive of Six replacing Thom, not Carter. It's interesting because in the Deliver Hope trailer, the previous Noble Six basically died because of Kat's failure, and she's left with a robotic arm as a reminder of that failure. She had aggression toward Six at the start of the game, then softened up over time. I think you spend more time paired up with Kat than any other Noble.
This game was HIGHLY underrated when it came out. Love how it’s picked up over the years. I can’t wait for Kat and Emile to be in Gears 5 (Original Voice Actors) Gonna bring back good times. Nice to see where they went once they went M.I.A
You're not using underrated correctly. This game was rated just as well as it should have been. It wasn't even obscure. It was vastly popular and is widely regarded as the best game in the franchise after Halo 2. Being underrated would have meant that it was the complete opposite of all of these things.
@@or10nsharkfin The game is indeed remarkable but people call things they like underrated way too often. The game received a lot of love and I just played it for the first time when it came to PC and realized why everyone loved this game. It's great. I don't see how anyone could say this game way underrated when practically everyone who has played it enjoyed it.
Everyone didn't really like the story but loved the MP when it released. I'm one of those people but I've grown to appreciate it. It's because we came from playing as Chief and the badass ODST to a Squad of Spartans that are less combat effective and they all die (One in an embarrassing way) so it was hard to like. They may not have been the best but they succeeded in their mission at least.
my favourtie campaign is still odst because your just a man in armour no super chemicals no implants just a man taking on the alien flith with your squad its bad ass. I like playing as a spartan too when you are industuctable and its impossible to die unless you fuck up because it makes me feel like a badass but still just enjoyed the change of pace of odst more although Reach did have that badass fighter section before Jorge dies.
They possibly would've died, since the whole crew on the Pillar of Autumn died except for Master Chief & Johnson, unless 6 & Emile was kept in Chief's sight, Bungie or 343 could've made a remaining noble team reunion. The reunion on how Noble 6 & Emile sees Jun again after 6 years, that would've been amazing.
Mario In the books there were other Marines and an ODST who Made it off Halo with Johnson but died later so it is possible that 6 and Emile could of lived if they were with Johnson or Chief
"Slipspace Rupture Detected...Slipspace Rupture Detected.... Slipspace Rupture Detected... Slipspace Rupture Detected" And it's at that moment you realize that Jorge's sacrifice was for nothing.
1:47 “but the hero never gets to see that ending. They’ll never know if the day was really saved. In the end they just gotta have faith. Ain’t that a $itch. -Church RVB season 13
Jorge’s death scene is one of the most epic things I’ve seen cinematically. The music, the atmosphere, the trouble you went through to take out one ship only to see more show up. I wish i could relive playing that mission for the first time again
The Pillar of Autumn has to go down as one of the most iconic, amazing, powerful levels in gaming history. The music, the characters, the stakes, the location just makes it a breathtaking finale
A few of these clips alone show the Tactical Superiority of the Arbiter's Fleet compared to the other Covenant Fleets encountered before. The Arbiter probably already knew that the Long Night of Solace was going to be priority no.1 for the UNSC and correctly deduced that the LNoS will die, allowing him to see the UNSC's only trump card before launching the entire invasion fleet to Reach. Losing a Pawn to checkmate the King. Also shows the tracking skill of the Zealot Team assigned to Thel Vadam, tracking Noble Team from Visegrad all the way to the Pillar of Autumn. They assassinated Kat by drawing Noble Team out with an open signal, tracked Emile and possibly even Carter [The Lone Phantom chasing them at the start of the last mission only to reappear at the end of the last mission to drop off Zealots to kill Emile] Edit: The Zealot team was definitely hunting for Cortana knowing that she is the custodian of Forerunner information found on Visegrad, which was why they were so desperate to chase Noble Team at the end of the mission.
The Admiral was the one who was broadcasting on an open channel. He says he's overriding COMSEC protocol with the intent that, even if Noble's secure lines went down, they can reach him by improvised means (like picking up a discarded UNSC/civilian radio.) It also served a secondary purpose: if Noble was unable to reach him even through an open channel, it was pretty much a guarantee that they had been wiped out.
Orangexboom 18 yeah man it'd be epic, and it could have the protagonist as the original noble six, Tom. and the ending could be his death. Although it'd have to be done right or it'll be too repetitive in theme. It has to be mainly about insurrectionists and involve the civil war and only introduce the covenant in the end of the game.
Nah, there can't be a reach 2 because the Covenant glasses Reach, when humanity lost Reach, I'm not kidding when I say UNSC forces got OBLITERATED by the covenant
FNG ™ I know that Reach took place before CE, but I've been told before that at some point Chief returns to Reach shortly after CE to search for surviving spartans, I could be wrong though.
Reach as a whole was a crucial loss for the UNSC, they lost over a hundred ships as well as several irreplaceable cruisers and super carriers. Then there’s the thousands of military and civilian lives that were lost by invading Covenant forces. Worst of all, Reach was the UNSC’s last line of defense for preventing the Covenant from reaching Earth, now there was nothing stopping them from attacking. Numerous Spartan teams (not just Noble Team) were on deployment on Reach and many lost their lives just to hold the Covenant off or to keep them from getting access to valuable intel or data.
@@Laserbeak316 true but the reason junn doesn't say a word about it is he becomes a coward and is scared if the covenant and he had no attachment to the team and halsey doesnt like failure and aling with that he son died but from both they would rather not remember that horrible months

Hit 'em hard, boss!"
Fucking LOVED Reach!

i respected carter's death but Emile went out the hardest way taking his killer with him
+Eric Mitchell Carter took a fucking scarab with him
I think everyone is missing the point here.

@@victorguapoako Oh that's some dumb bullshit..

@@IvanIvanovv probably a PR move for ONI. They gotta show that they *still* care for the troops on the front lines and stuff. That or as miracle stories, similar to why the SPARTAN-IIs were even publicized in the first place.

This is what a Spartan team is supposed to be like. In Reach, you care about all of Noble Team, and all of their deaths resonant within you. In Halo 5: Guardians however, all the Spartans on Team Osiris and Blue team are bland as fuck and have no personality. The most shocking part about Reach was how Jorge thought he ended the Invasion, and it seems so at first.
Then the full force arrives, and at that point Reach is totally Doomed. As a Kid it blew my mind and I just knew it would be hopeless.
Yeah.. Jorge didn't end the invasion, he only delayed the inevitable.

Halo infinite ?
I love Chief but being able to customize what your Spartan looks like in the campaign is what made this my all time favorite Halo game
Noble 6 actually felt like you compared to master chief, who felt like a godlike unkillable plot armor. The only halo game where the spartan in the campaign is completely you.
Same
+Just S (Xero) It's also the one game where you know that the Spartans aren't invincible. In the other Halos, MC and the others feel invincible. In this one, you know 6 is screwed from the start. That's why I love Reach
I played reach hoping that 6 would be the lone survivor of the group, but still great game, and the one I loved most of out all the halos
Master chief had luck that’s why Cortana chose him and not one of the noble team
No one is going to talk about how disturbing a terrifying the music is when Noble 6 is fighting for his life while getting swarmed by elites.
The songs before and after lone wolf are dark but during the fight it sounds almost like proud music like you're doing what a warrior does, fight until the end.

There's nothing to
say. All they can feel is the drop in their heart. What else can you say? It's just overall depressing and I love it because it's so on point.
Credit needs to be given where it's due and if the goal is to tell a story, this is how it's done.
well said
It also set you up for the other deaths.

If you melee Emile’s body once he is dead, it will still have a shield so it’s possible that he is still alive

Rhys Nichols it wasn't him who ordered genocide on the humans, it was the prophets who said that the humans must be destroyed
Spartan 3's were trained to do the missions that they knew could get them killed. Normal soldiers weren't tough enough, and a Spartan 2 was too valuable to send. They were all ready to die, and they were all willing if it came down to it.
Emile was the coolest character in the game for me
Emilie? Who is Emilie?
The one with the knife and Eva helmey.
@ spartan 2's
Unlike other Spartans 3 Noble team got Mjolnir and not SPI armor. They we're also treated like S2, they didn't send them on suicide missions. (The fall of reach was a suicide mission but there a lot of S2 and 3 died. Fred's team was composed of 22 spartans 2 and only 3 of them made it out alive: Fred, Will (he died shortly after though) and Kelly.)

Emile wanted to die. He had lost his entire team, save for Six who was a newcomer, and had seen Reach's destruction. He tried harder and harder and yet the situation became only more and more hopeless. At the end of the game, he had lost himself. He gave his life because he knew he wanted to.
Kat: “I know we’re losing....I want know if we’ve lost.”
Kat’s death was the hardest for me, abrupt, right when we get to see positive conversation with her. And when you can hear her nervousness in how this was her “first glassing.”
Being 13 years old when this came out and seeing someone who was supposed to be a badass video game character being afraid like that really got to me.
Halo reach is by far the best game I have ever played.
My jaw dropped when I first saw her death. Nearly broke my controller
But I think her death is significant because it shows us that even the strongest, toughest, top tier soldiers vulnerable.
Honestly, the "first glassing?" was the first time Kat was actually likable in the game. It was easy to sympathize with her in that moment.

Even when you was pushed to the ground, you kept fighting until the final blow was struck (hence cue the final Elite with the sword)
Halo Reach didn't just told a story, it made sure you was engraved in it.
which makes it one of the best of the Halo games I've ever played.
Pioxys Jun still alive
Pioxys Jun's death was never confirmed. He's alive.
Pioxys Kat*
Pioxys Jeez... halo reach was depressing XD
Jun is still alive and now works for the Spartan recruitment program
In my opinion one of the best Halo campaigns
+hannah cooper Defo, defo
For some reason I agree as well, and I loved the Halo 3 campaign. There was just something so personal and attached with the Halo Reach campaign. It has a special place in my heart and the heart of many players because of the sacrifice of this Noble Team. Never forget Reach.
***** Same, custom games just won't stop being fun.
+hannah cooper in my opinion its easily the best campaign

Cortana: "But you belonged to Reach. Your body, your armor, all burned and turned to glass. Everything. Except..."

Cortana: "Your courage"

Lucas Kurmis that was Halsey not cortana
@@kellmatic Halsey and cortana are technically the same
Five Four not really but ok
Paul Monico cortana was created by a literal copy of halsey’s brain, so kinda, in a way yes
Here, from the wiki:
“According to her backstory, Cortana was constructed from the cloned brain of Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, the creator of the SPARTAN-II supersoldier project; Halsey's synapses became the basis for Cortana's processors”
Reblwitoutacause no I get that they are sort of the same person however they have completely different personalities as cortana says herself she likes crazy where Halsey really isn’t like that
Halo reach was truly a master piece. Watching this brings back a lot of good memories
Yeah I remember playing this with my brother it really brings me back and makes me emotional, this was my favourite halo campaign out of th m all for many reasons
+My Smash Corner Corner I feel like crying now because they all died a "Noble" death
+Ethan H "Memories of Reach"
i really do agree.
Everything but your courage. That, you gave to us...
And with it, we can rebuild
Wait so ur telling me there gonna be a halo reach 2?
So rebuilding spartan armor maybe there is gonna be a halo reach 2
If don't dislike Idc
Jake Gossage I pray there Wont Be. 343 would fuck it up so much it would stain the original
Best way to end the campaign.
Emile's death was too sad. I nearly cried my first time playing reach :(
Some words to remember Emile:
" (laugh) Big man always was sentimental."
"I'll honor him in my own way."
"Hit 'em hard, boss."
"I'M READY! HOW 'BOUT YOU?"
R.I.P. Emile you will be missed.
Thot Slayer 420 same i remember having fun when they died i cried my eyes out
Remember that Spartan 3s were basically going to die anyway. If you've read Ghosts of Onyx, only Tom and Lucy survived Operation Torpedo. Lucy was so traumatized that she lost her voice but was still allowed to serve. Tom, Lucy, and Jun went on to be trainers for the Spartan IV program
God team elime jun Noble six master chief cat and Jorge REST IN PIECE
Ironically, those are probably the only things Emile said.

Me Playing it 8 year$ old and coming back here 16 years old
Reach has one of my favorite campaigns in a video game, but the deaths of Noble are so sad. But anyways:
Jorge, heavy weapons - dies in an explosion
Kat, brains of the team - headshot
Jun, stealth/sniper - disappeared
Carter, leader - a saying that "a captain goes down with his ship", goes down with the ship
Emile, CQC Expert - Dies from a blade
Noble 6, lone wolf - was a lone wolf, died as a lone wolf.
You forgot Emile
Bladesman-stabbed through the chest with a sword
+Shadow The Boss Right.
Emile, CQC - dies in CQC
jun didnt dissapear tho, unless you mean from the team, he later became a warrant officer and recruited spartans
jun lived on to train more spartans
When Emile died, I almost broke my T.V screen.
Edit: It doesn’t matter if I “barely know him” or not. Let people have there opinions. Enjoy your day.

It was decent, but armor abilities and bloom ruined most playlists in matchmaking tbh.

i wish a pelican could have just scooped back and got 6.

Emile was my favorite noble
Emile is super boring. Noble Six is better.
Dab on em Ikr, His Helmet Is Fucking Awesome
Dab on em same
same
Sanic Thie hejhoge same here
So is it that they all represent an aspect of war?
like;
Noble 1 (blue) - Sacrifice/guilt - Carter at the beginning of the game is supposed to feel animoisty towards 6 becuase he is replacing thom, who was a life long friend of carter, who sacrificed himself destroying a ship, and blames himself for poor team planning, and later laments for jorge when he sacrifices himself destorying a ship, he later sacrifices himself sounding at peace when he rams the scarab for 4 and 6.
Just something to read instead of wow look at how ironic every characters exits are.
also gg if you read all this
BeastFeast lol
This is why I prefer Noble Team to Master Chief
BeastFeast I like it but I can’t like it
My color for six is orange
You gave one of Kat's traits to Carter. Kat was dismissive of Six replacing Thom, not Carter.
It's interesting because in the Deliver Hope trailer, the previous Noble Six basically died because of Kat's failure, and she's left with a robotic arm as a reminder of that failure.
She had aggression toward Six at the start of the game, then softened up over time. I think you spend more time paired up with Kat than any other Noble.
This game was HIGHLY underrated when it came out. Love how it’s picked up over the years.
I can’t wait for Kat and Emile to be in Gears 5 (Original Voice Actors)
Gonna bring back good times. Nice to see where they went once they went M.I.A
Gangsta Berleezy underrated? This game blew out of the fucking water when I picked it up. Everyone at my damn school knew about this badass game
@@lariosmendoza of course everyone would know about it that's not what they were talking about
You're not using underrated correctly.
*Beginning of the game:* yay full team of 6 Spartans, we got this!
*End of the game:* no! Why you gotta tear my hope apart like that? ;-;
How bold is it to assume, that this is probably the best Halo of them all?
I think it is. Although I really like the original Halo too but that is probably just nostalgia.
@Noble Six It's genuinely impossible to choose
It's no assumption.
I don't know but this is a rest stop for your fingers to avoid the angry virgins
It’s really good but probably my third favorite two and three are works of art
Halo Reach is one of my favorite campaigns of any game. Every time i play through the campaign and die in Lone Wolf, I get chills from it. Love it!!!
Cj Cj I always know the moment right before the cutscene where carter dues and in always like: ohhhhhhh fucccck
my favourtie campaign is still odst because your just a man in armour no super chemicals no implants just a man taking on the alien flith with your squad its bad ass. I like playing as a spartan too when you are industuctable and its impossible to die unless you fuck up because it makes me feel like a badass but still just enjoyed the change of pace of odst more although Reach did have that badass fighter section before Jorge dies.
When I first saw Kat get sniped my heart dropped.
Yeah Reach isn't like most movies or videogames where a character is able to say goodbye before they die. Kat's death was brutal and instant.
When does he get off calling a demolition of priority o- were her last words that’s just sad
I remember first time I played and saw that. I was just shook for a couple minutes, I was in disbelief at it all.
could you Imagine if 6 and emile had made it to the pillar alive? holy shit them plus chief would be unstoppable
Let's say 6 went with Halsey instead of Jun Then 6 would of lived
Lord Wander not exactly, the pillar of autum wouldnt have escaped without him gunning the covenant carrier down.
What if Jun went on the gun?
Slipspace Rupture Detected"

Jorge’s death scene is one of the most epic things I’ve seen cinematically. The music, the atmosphere, the trouble you went through to take out one ship only to see more show up. I wish i could relive playing that mission for the first time again
I remember the second Kat died I was
"Ooooooh this is gonna be a sad game"
As soon as the Supercarrier pulled up I thought that.
They assassinated Kat by drawing Noble Team out with an open signal, tracked Emile and possibly even Carter [The Lone Phantom chasing them at the start of the last mission only to reappear at the end of the last mission to drop off Zealots to kill Emile]
Edit: The Zealot team was definitely hunting for Cortana knowing that she is the custodian of Forerunner information found on Visegrad, which was why they were so desperate to chase Noble Team at the end of the mission.

The Admiral was the one who was broadcasting on an open channel.
He says he's overriding COMSEC protocol with the intent that, even if Noble's secure lines went down, they can reach him by improvised means (like picking up a discarded UNSC/civilian radio.)
It also served a secondary purpose: if Noble was unable to reach him even through an open channel, it was pretty much a guarantee that they had been wiped out.
9 years... finally i get to replay this masterpiece on pc
.....You're on your own noble. Carter out.....

They should do a remaster of this game or maybe even a prequel, obviously a sequel wouldn't work
A prequel to a prequel?
Orangexboom 18 yeah man it'd be epic, and it could have the protagonist as the original noble six, Tom. and the ending could be his death. Although it'd have to be done right or it'll be too repetitive in theme. It has to be mainly about insurrectionists and involve the civil war and only introduce the covenant in the end of the game.
+Joseph Davis it'd be cool to have that, but what would the story be about? That's the problem about the prequel
+Orangexboom 18 good point but hey if bungie makes it they'll make it good
wait that's weird... Halo:Reach IS a prequel. so if they make a prequel to a prequel.... OH GOSH!!! A PREQUEL PREQUEL!
We need the writer for Reach to write Halo 6's story, or at least a Reach 2 (yes that could be possible). This story was just amazing.
+Prime Reclaimer no thank you, highly doubt it'll be good. Halo 4-6 is the reclaimer saga.
FNG ™ After CE Chief actually goes back to reach to look for survivors if I remember right.
Nah, there can't be a reach 2 because the Covenant glasses Reach, when humanity lost Reach, I'm not kidding when I say UNSC forces got OBLITERATED by the covenant
FNG ™ I know that Reach took place before CE, but I've been told before that at some point Chief returns to Reach shortly after CE to search for surviving spartans, I could be wrong though.

i hate how halsey, cortana and jun never mention the noble team in the halo comics and in the previous halo games

I think he died before you get there since the breathing stopped near the end of the cutscene. He did live a little longer than the elite though. :)
