4 and 5 were ok games in my opinion, but shitty HALO games. Reach is awesome though, and although I suck at halo multiplayer, I still have put many hours into that multiplayer ☺
I always assumed Jorge called her "Mom" because that's just how a lot of the Spartan II's saw her. It made sense to me considering how much of a part of their lives she was.
Actually pretty funny that people would think Jorge or Noble 6 died. It's.... pretty obvious they're dead haha. But I always enjoy interesting fan theories
The same thing happens in james bond casino royale, when JB calls M ma'am. I had to "research" the british accent to find out that she was not his mommy.
The irony in Halo Reach's deaths always were interesting to me. Jorge (Heavy Weapons)- Dies in explosion Kat (the Brains)- Gets shot in the head Jun (Stealth expert)- Disappears Carter (Captain)- goes down with the ship Emile (melee expert)- gets stabbed Noble Six (lone wolf)- dies alone
Shazam black You're missing the point of the comment. In the Halo Universe, Spartans are publicly seen as undefetable. So when they did die, the UNSC would list them as MIA, or Missing in Action, to kept that public view alive.
Shazam black Rumour has it that he's floating inside a direlict ship in cryosleep somewhere in the middle of space. :0 Spartans have a habit of doing that quite often :D
MrAvakstone92 if they don't die on screen/stage they're still alive, since theater days the problem with deaths the audience doesn't see is that many use it as leverage to say a character didn't die since we never saw it, if there's no body the character always has a chance to come back. Add the fact many characters in all media "die" and come back, leaving audiences always questioning every death they see and don't see, and therefore have hope their favorite characters aren't dead.
I know this is a relatively simple one but: MISCONCEPTION: The UNSC personnel you fight alongside in Halo: Reach are Marines. With a few exceptions, they are mostly UNSC Army troopers, with UNSC Air Force and ODSTs replacing them in a few key levels. Also MISCONCEPTION: The Spartan that delivers the bomb in "Deliver Hope" is Noble 6 on Reach. It is actually his predecessor, Thom, on a colony world Fumirole, showing his death that necessitated Six's transfer to Noble Team.
HKgunner You realize Noble 6 is the position on the team right? It's not the character's name, it's his position or. title. So it is Noble 6 in the trailer. That was a foolish thing to say.
No... really??? Gee, I wonder if that's why I included the line "his Predecessor, Thom" to distinguish between the playable Noble 6 who doesn't have a canonical name beyond his/her spartan number, and the one that did the act, because they are two different people. Bottom line, deliver hope WAS NOT the "Noble 6" you play, Spartan B312, it was Thom A293, the previous Noble 6, explaining how he died and why there is a vacancy on the team that you, the player, have to fill. Is that clear enough for you?
Peter Wright no he isn't Jorge was the only spartan II on noble team wich is why halsey was so confused as to who noble team was and that's also why she says what have you done to my armor
amuraby hernandez: After fact checking with the Halo wikia, I concede that Jorge was a Spartan II. This, as Amuraby quoted, is evidenced by Halsey's recognition of the Mjolnir Armor she that designed.
Bungie ages back confirmed it in Game Informer when they did the first interview with Bungie on Halo Reach. They revealed that Noble Team consisted of Spartan III's with Jorge being a Spartan II.
I was talking to Marty not too long ago. He said that their intention was for all of Noble team to die. He said Jun was "supposed" to be dead... but they pretty much forgot to kill him off on screen.
I actually liked the fact that june became a recruiter for the spartan 4's. I honestly don't think all of noble team would have died on reach. They're spartans after all. Atleast one... Maybe 2 (cough cough *noble 6* cough) should have survived.
@@qm43 I hate that Buck became a SPARTAN. The rivalry between SPARTANs and ODSTs is huuuuge. It came from Chief beating a number of ODSTs to death in a gym brawl instigated to test the augmentations. He should have told Jun to stuff it and fuck off.
@@Mortablunt A lot of that animosity was based on second hand knowledge though. Buck worked directly with Spartans, (and not even the same generation of Spartans that caused that feud, not that Buck would know that) so he had a bit more experience with them than the average ODST and likely would be more accepting of them.
I remember seeing a guy saying and I quote “ Reach could have been stopped if Arbiter show up cuz he’s cool with the Spartans lol” which literally makes 0 sense considering Reach came before Halo 1 CE (In the Lore anyway)
the mum ma'am misconception could also be from the fact that in Halsey's journal, the Spartans start to refer to her as "mom" and in the books as well.
@@KirkyyWirky that's a fuking cop out reason. No one else's shields were broke and how come that jackle literally fired one shot at kat instead of trying to kill the whole team. If anything emils shields would have to have been broke cuz he had been closer to the window than kat. Her insta headshot death seemed to convient but i still get shivers down my spine when i see the scene of 6 holding kat when they come out the bunker it was a very well executed scene but seemed suuper convenient for that jackle. They probably threw him a parade 😂
@@KirkyyWirky yeah but the jackle literally only shot one spartan with one shot and was like "mmmm nah I'm not going to shoot back anymore i killed one of them and that was my job" shit i swear he was one of the jackles from halo 2 legendary with that kind of head shot.
Halo 5 misconceptions: Locke and Osiris are human. As seen in the novel Halo 5's Story Was Bad by me, they are actually cardboard cutouts brought to life by ancient forerunner technology found on the adrift wreckage on Alpha Halo. These strange beings managed to sneak past UNSC recruitment officer Brian Reed and become Spartans.
Vicious Zero what's sad is halo 5 was a spin off lead up game, like halo 3 odst being a prequel to halo 3, halo "5" was a setup game with lockes team looking for clues for chief, and finding any would trigger flashback missions with chief and his team, but for some reason Microsoft went "this looks good, but we want more money so call it halo 5, take out Halsey being the possible villain and bring back Cortana as the villain! And so 343 got their innocent lead up game thrown into a rushed sequel that made no sense and got all the blame thanks to Microsoft being corporate shits
chris pearson not off the top of my head unfortunately, but do some digging of your own I highly encourage, many of my friends have gone to 343 offices as we're part of a large faction of the 405th, and so they bring many of us to events in our armor or let us tour the place, so some have gotten info leaked here and there to them. the first obvious thing is the story is a rush job obviously, and almost completely ignores the events of halo 4.
@@commanderblargh6300 They didn't glass everything - Shadows of Reach confirms this. That said he's super dead, and if were alive it would undermine the narrative of Reach.
I did actually think that Jorge called Halsey mom before the subtitles corrected me but not because I thought he was her son. Just thought it was a nod to her being the creator of the Spartan II program and he saw her as a kind of mother like figure you treat with respect.
Nope. Energy daggers aren't that long and aren't dual-pronged. It's somewhat common for high-ranking Elites to carry two swords for larger CQC engagements, so he probably had that one stored on his left thigh. EDIT: Thought you were talking about the supposed "Arbiter" in the foreground, so that's my fault...
While Noble Six is labeled as "Hyper Lethal" and could have easily held his own against a Sangheli with an Energy Gauntlet, he would still have to survive the hundred of Covenant still in the area. He's outnumbered, and both his firearms are presumably out of ammo. That versus hundred of Sangheili, Jiralhanae, Unggoy and Kig-Yar? No, he wouldn't survive. Then you have to add the glassing in to the mix. While I'd love for him to be alive, there's absolutely no way he could survive all of that.
On Noble Six's death, I would like to say that, even if he did manage to fight off the Sangheili from stabbing him and found a place to lay low, he still would have died from his wounds and the radiation Covenant plasma weapons gave off.
Mecha-san actually I'd say he probably would have died of the glassing, since it is possible he'd have something to heal his wounds with and I'm or pretty confident the plasma radiation wouldn't have killed him.
Zouheir Hassoune He would've still have DOT Ai and there can be a forunner Ai in each forunner base location and found a ship or get healed by forunner Ai then found a ship to plot course to sol system but intercepted by covenant ships while also starting slip-space drive and one shot hit the engines also damaging the slipspace drive.
while possible, noble 6 was the master cheif of the spartan 3s. he knew what to do. i bet he ment into a mine in reach to surviv like the rest of the survivers
When it came to Gorge addressing Halsey, even without the subs, I knew he wasn't her son. If he was calling her "mom", I was assuming that was just their relationship while Gorge was growing up. He probably considered her a mother. In the cutscene when Noble team was going to see Halsey, Gorge sounded excited and said something along the lines of "I was hers my entire life (paraphrasing)". I just assumed he calls her mom cuz she probably was the [crazy] mother figure in the Spartans' lives.
In the Spanish translation of Halo 3, when the Arbiter says "Were it so easy" at the end of the game, he actually says "It was too easy". Totally ruining one of the most important lines of the game. Nobody that played the game on Spanish made the connection to the start of the game when the Arbiter originally said "Were it so easy", because in that occasion the translation was correct.
same here but i love how he hints at it gently but he has arbiter holding the sword with his right hand instead of his left as just to prove his point but he should go into as many as he can within like a 45 minutes period for just the slightly larger ones so people dont end up with more questions like me
The Arbiter has been right handed since Halo 2. You know, when we first find out he was at Reach and then becomes the Arbiter in that game, then almost immediately after we PLAY as said Arbiter?
Noble 6 _could_ have survived, but _canonically_, he's dead. So IMO fanfictions that have Six surviving are fine, but he won't (or rather, shouldn't) appear in canon material, because he is dead in canon.
I like to think that Noble 6 would be able to survive against fighting the elites but he definitely would have died shortly after because of the glassing or just being injured and bleeding to death
NoDubstepHere you need to hold right with the stick, I forget if you have to hold something else. I remembered it so I held right and pushed down left trigger and back/select, not sure which but it’s probably on RUclips
lesbian Duck yea but bringing back cortana ruined halo 4's ending and also noble 6 is a complete BADASS.He is like the master chief of the spartan IIIs
6 dying is the perfect ending because s/he was a badass! It showed humanity that the Covenant can beat even the greatest, and made the Covenant an even more dangerous enemy. They destroyed one of, if not the biggest group of Spartans on one planet, and won swiftly and relentlessly. Having the greatest die shows that they can beat whatever armies they encounter. Chief was a different story. They weren't after people on Halo.
+RazorEdgeLoki 1 You do realize that that is not even the actual cortana right? It's just one of the fragments that were split off from the original close to the end of halo 5. So cortana is dead.
+RazorEdgeLoki No it wouldn't -_- noble 6 is not an AI who suffered from rampancy who then split their selves and inserted their fragments in a forerunner structure. Even then it wouldn't make any sense as noble six wouldn't drive master chief with an emotional connection for halo 5. Even more so as this "cortana" is not even a clone it's a fragment. I honestly have no idea where that logic comes from. I don't want to be harsh, but that's quite stupid. It's not like you're alone though most halo fans are pretty dumb.
Keeping Jorge or six alive would defeat the purpose of the sacrifice and story of noble. The purpose of noble was to humanize Spartans and show the community that yes while Spartans are bad ass not all of them survived like chief, almost like a way of saying hey Chief is luckier than you think. But what exactly was that forerunner ship in the ice shelf? How did it get there? What information did they get from it (in the 343 canon)? Was it the same ship seen in the DLC map breakpoint?
Also keep in mind that at the time of Reach, Thel'Vadam would have had the gold armor of a general, as seen early in Halo 2, and no such gold general elite is seen in the final moments of Noble Six's life.
xAmRcNx I disagree, it sounds like a British accent to me. As his use of Ma'am is in line with British turns of phrase. When he actually does speak Hungarian in the game he doesn't sound like a native speaker. The male farmer and the daughter of the researcher sounded like native speakers to me instead. Jorge was a native of Reach where a significant number of the original colonists were said to be Hungarian. So him knowing Hungarian but not necessarily being a native speaker if HIS family were not Hungarian makes sense to me.
What a breath of fresh air. Why did I even bother subscribing to halo follower when this is the real halo fan channel. the guys over at halo follower can't even pronounce sigma octanus IV, let alone discuss its relevance to specific story points.
I don’t know too many details regarding this, but a lot of people say the head guy of that channel (Chris) is a big time dick and screwed over a lot of people at the channel.
I don’t care if they can’t pronounce anything, they have a different accent. I follow most of the Halo Lore Channels, Halo Canon, Halo Follower, LTN, and more.
Halo CE misconceptions would be great, especially in the case of the information that Cortana gives about the Forerunners, how Halo works in relation to killing/starving the flood, and the Covenant's motivations behind Halo's activation. Also, the legendary ending in case that wasn't clearly non canon.
Another misconception I can think of is what killed Kat, when I, and other people I've heard from, first saw the end cutscene of New Alexandria was that she was killed by a Jackal Sniper but I've heard that it was actually a Sangheili Marksman
Yeah I heard that it's the same zealot that runs by in winter contingency, and the same one who kills Emile, and who is the final elite you kill before getting to the AA gun. Supposedly he's kind supposed to be kind of a main antagonist
@@taloob493 yeah. I want to see a character article on that Elite Field Marshal in Canon Fodder like the Brute Chieftan Chief can go 1 on 1 with at the end of The Ark.
Halo Reach is my favorite, since playing Halo 3 at my uncle's house when it first came out all the way to Halo 5 today. I enjoyed the multiplayer the most, thought it was fair, competetive, the forge maps added a lot of variation and kept things fresh and interesting, and I loved the campaign. It was heartbreaking and fascinating as the Spartan's of noble team went down one by one, and the ending in my opinion was great, when Noble 6 simply went down like the badass he is. Firefight mode was also amazing, I don't see why they can't bring back the reach-style mode of firefight today. And finally the art design is 1000x better than what halo 5 and 4's looks like, the armor looks gaudy, battle-worn, way less cartoony.
10:10 "The Cortana that we knew is gone" dude, why do you have to rip my heart out like that? I still hold onto the hope that the Cortana that we saw in Halo 5 *IS* the Cortana what we know and love. But plagued by the Logic Infection
*Clicks video* *Instantly likes* Halo canon, literally every video I absolutely love, you put so much effort into your vids and they are always an enjoyment :)
Not only is the Arbiter dominant-hand argument irrelevant and baseless, but the Elite's armor is clearly red, where the Arbiter's was a gold/yellow color as we see in Halo 2. I doubt he would just up and change armor colors as the colors distinguish ranks, like the rest of the Covenant forces
Reach takes place before Halo CE and effectively before 2 and 3 as well. Thel 'Vadam (Arbiter) is stripped of his previous rank and condemned to become the last Arbiter at the start of Halo 2. The armor he is seen with from this point on is the signature "Arbiter's Armor". So it is entirely possible for any of the Elites in that cutscene to be Thel 'Vadam.
The game could have been so much more if they hadn't tried retconning all of Nylund's work, from Reach's depiction as some defenceless farming colony to the Autumn's completely nonsensical location on the planet's surface rather than in orbit preparing to jump when the _very first_ covenant ships attacked. Good gameplay and stellar scenery and audio work, at least. Let's be real, Noble 6 DID survive. He made a cubbyhole out of 3 boxes in a corner of one of the buildings and sat there until you turned the xbox off.
Hadgerz You need to go watch Halo Canon's video on the Halo Reach timeline another big misconception about Reach is that some how it retconned the book when even they deemed it canon however of course game canon takes priority.
I'm one of those that prefers to view both Halo: Reach and Halo: The Fall of Reach as equally canon. TFoR was published before Halo: CE released though. did Bungie not have any involvement?
Officially, they are equally canon, but Bungie considered Reach the "true" version of events when they made the game. Bungie was involved with Fall of Reach to a limited degree, but the core management still weren't fans of someone else messing around in their universe. There's a reason there's no Destiny tie-in media.
I always thought that Eric Nylund was an exceptional author in regards to his Halo Expanded Material work. He captures the Halo atmosphere very well and his books felt like they could slot in right alongside the games. Considering the nature of video game development already involves hundreds of people I find it kind of odd that they didn't like the book especially when it was as well written and respectful to the source as it was.
I mean Halo Reach was still a retcon. we're literally in halsey's head when she finds out about spartan 3's and she is in fact surprised. She doesn't even think about Noble team in that moment. Are we really supposed to believe that a woman as smart as her wouldn't be able to put 2 and 2 together like that.
That misconception with Jorge being Halsey's son was one of my biggest pet peeves back in the Reach days (probably because I'm used to that pronunciation by watching Doctor Who all the time). I literally had full-blown arguments with little kids who were 100% convinced that they were family.
Thank you for this Toa! It's nice to have a video out that puts to bed so many of the communities misinterpretations and misconceptions of Reach and it's connection to lore! Very well done and to-the-point, just how I like it~
Hey Halo Canon, would you like to do a video about misconceptions about the Forerunners/Precursors/Ancient Humans, Halo 5, Halo 4, the Spartan programs and the Covenant species?
the thought of noble 6 surviving was a chance missed Imo. we didn't really need or want locke. he's a shit character. but if you had noble 6 hunting down master chief, then even that shit show of a story in halo 5 would've been better.
Jammy Joe I agree that Locke was a terrible character, but 6 died. It's better that way. No offense in your case, but I hate it when fans come in and want all of their favorite characters to survive. War is war, grow up people.
Jack Cottrell don't care that he died. Made the ending of halo reach better obviously... but that doesn't change that having him/her instead of locke would've been more badass and indulged the fan service. Not that I think a retcon should occur. Noble 6 should definitely stay dead.
You are correct, the call signs were purely based on what numbers they were on Noble Team. All the Spartans including the III's have proper numbers on their tags that indicate their numbers. Jorge's is 052 like how John's is 117.
Tristan Turne his accent is Hungarian. He speaks it in a cut scene as he floats in space between a saber and the space station. He wouldn't need to be born on earth to have the accent
Reach is a planet with people mainly from Eastern Europe, so him being born on Reach further supports him being Hungarian. Jorge was also born in town named Palhaza, an existing Hungarian town in the present.
I would say his accent and his "native tongue" is a far cry from Hungarian. It's too Slavic in pronunciation. Grammar and vocabulary is fine tho. However, it's acceptable for two things, they didn't hire an actor fluent in Hungarian and also it's 500 years from now in the future.
He's from Reach originally, which has a large Eastern European influence as well as other nationalities from Earth. His accent itself is English, however, we do see English accented colonists in the Halo Reach promotional stuff. It's likely that Jorge and many colonists in human space would be bi-lingual in some sense. The actor themselves is English.
Cool theory my brothers and I thought up while playing Reach. What if the Zealots that are present in (almost) all of Noble Teams' death scenes are actually the same Zealot, and he's just highly skilled/lucky in each of these encounters with the Spartans? I know it doesn't hold much water, but it was fun thinking about it throughout the campaign.
i just though of it just now but have you ever done a video on just the UNSC weapons over the years? like i get production of weapons had its ups and downs but it's weird to think every UNSC weapon has the power (given the ammo and time) to destroy a scorpion tank yet has to go through so many changes over the years.
I was once playing Halo Reach's campaign with 2 friends and I recall one of them saying "Halo Reach (the Game) isn't canon becasue NOBLE team didn't use MJOLNIR armor during the battle of Reach". And thus a discusion based on books and other sources begun between the 3 of us
Noble 6 and Jorge was one of the most endearing Spartans because they were friendly yet still Spartans...understandably it’s hard to let go of such characters. No wonder the two became buddies during the fall of Reach.
The left handed elite was "the secret hunter of noble six". It was a field Marshal that killed Kat, and attacked you during the early part of the campaign.
Most places in the UK say mum. Some up north say mam (different from ma'am). And some where I'm from, around the West Midlands, say mom like Americans. So I grew up saying mom assuming everyone in the UK did as well. It's confusing.
Huh, today I learned. I actually remember some Brits saying Jorge said "Mom", and finding it really confusing since, as I understood, mum was the common word in England. Thanks for the lesson!
I just love looking into lore within video games and TV-series etc.. It just feels like a game where you shoot random things until you get more in depth with lore of the game / Series, Everything just seems more personal and amazing, dont know why xD Anyhow, Great video!
Noble Six is dead. It makes no sense of people saying "O-oh but that .00000000051 moment of a second where the camera didn't show him dying." For fuck's sake man
You know what theory that some people have that just pisses me off? The theory that Cortana will be turned into a human. Its fucking stupid. First of all there's no real clue leading up to it. It's so damn stupid.
chris pearson Well, now that you've mentioned it, 343 Guilty Spark used to be of organic material before being turned into a forge monitor. So the same can be done with other beings. So maybe there is a way to reverse it? I don't know really, but whats keeping me from believing that Cortana would become human is the fact that she is a total dictator now. Plus the REAL Cortana died in Halo 4 and the one we're dealing with right now is a type of Cortana, but not the one we knew from earlier Halo games.
chris pearson Thats true really. I do believe that there are other fragments of Cortana some where. Then again, Halsey could make another Cortana. Now that I think about it, thats what I feel like Halsey is gonna do for Chief. She is gonna issue Chief another AI to gather some intel about the Guardians or something like that.
During Halo 6 I better blow up Cortana while shes controlling a Guardian or something or Im lm flipping out, playing the shit outta multiplayer and buying the fuck out of the next Halo game.
why does everyone ignore halo legends... the movies were made by halo writers and artists too... and they were made before 343 started so no bungie purists can rlly make that excuse.
There's another one. That the teleportation spire was cloaking the supercarrier. The stealth spire was destroyed at the beginning of the mission and the teleportation spire was specified to have an "army-hiding canopy". They didn't actually cloak the CSO, it has it's own systems which is what it used to get close to Reach in the first place.
My favorite Halos 1.) Halo CE: Nostalgia combined with the game blowing my mind with gameplay I haven't experienced yet. 2.) Halo Reach: Loved the fall of Reach lore being told and really enjoyed the firefights with my freinds. The gameplay was really smooth along with great transition between different types of enemy ai. 3.) Halo 2: Found the story confusing for my age but absolutely was addicted with replaying the campaign like I was with CE and you could finally use an energy sword.
When people say they hated Reach, I shake my head. It's beautiful and challenging - and has heaps of tricks (as I sometimes watch experts play the game). The music is great, though not as spiritual as Halo 1 - 3, but is still very emotional and engaging.
i dont know that the ship jorge went down on was actually rated for slipspace, my guess is it wasn't because of how small it is, and was just loaded up into the supercarrier when it needed to jump. thus, the ship would be torn apart when it entered slipspace. at least, thats my understanding from the mention of the didacts shields being rated for slipspace in halo 4. Jun i thought was dead, based on a line in the book "fall of reach" at the end, where a covenant communique mentions capturing a vessel on reach where a "demon" traded his life to save "hers". i may be slightly off in my remembrance of the line(i cant find the book in my disaster area of a room) 6 very much died. i think where some people draw hope is that Halsey was still, canonically, on Reach at that time. She actually later resuscitated Linda, who had spent the entire Halo Combat Evolved game clinically dead in cryo. If they retrieved the body quickly, she could, in theory, return 6 to the land of the living. i didn't realize fall of reach wasn't canon, though i guess it makes sense at some level.
when on ONI sword base, at the end Halsey says to Jorge "what have you done to my armour" and he replys saying "just some modifications" which is a violation of the Spartan program. so Jorge is basically a fugitive.
I don't know that it makes any sense for the Autumn to have returned to the surface just to pick up Cortana. First, airspace over Reach would've been highly contested, so assuming Keyes could've gotten the ship on the ground there's no guarantee he'd be able to take her back into orbit. Second, when the Autumn *does* take off, she does so with the aid of booster jets, which help her gain escape velocity. If this were just a quick drop in/drop out, where did those boosters come from? Third, why bring the ship in at all? A Pelican, or even a squadron of Pelicans picking up NOBLE team at SWORD Base would've accomplished the same thing without the Autumn having to risk the orbital battle twice or getting permanently grounded on Reach. It makes much more sense for the Autumn to have collected the Master Chief, Linda, and Johnson and his squad on their way out of the system, rather than them already being on board. Based on evidence we see during the battle (including the boosters and the fact there seems to be a mad dash of ground personnel also trying to get on board), it looks to me more like the Autumn had been undergoing her refit when the battle occurred, and she was more or less everyone in the area's last ticket out of the system. She wasn't there specifically *for* NOBLE team or Cortana, she just happened to be their best option, and it's only coincidental (if you believe any part of Fall of Reach the novel is still canon, something I generally don't) that she was originally the ship to be used for Operation RED FLAG.
Reach looks pretty even now, very effective art style, and very unique and different from Halo 3.

"Jorge is alive"
Yeah. Just like how Thom is totally alive too.
I know this is a relatively simple one but:
MISCONCEPTION: The UNSC personnel you fight alongside in Halo: Reach are Marines. With a few exceptions, they are mostly UNSC Army troopers, with UNSC Air Force and ODSTs replacing them in a few key levels.
Also
MISCONCEPTION: The Spartan that delivers the bomb in "Deliver Hope" is Noble 6 on Reach. It is actually his predecessor, Thom, on a colony world Fumirole, showing his death that necessitated Six's transfer to Noble Team.
HKgunner I'm pretty sure everyone knew the second one
Everyone who goes deep into lore, maybe, but I know plenty who just assume it is a non-canonical trailer of Noble 6 being badass on Reach.
HKgunner they are the best damn marines of any halo game at that
HKgunner You realize Noble 6 is the position on the team right?
Annnnnnd even if he did call her "mom" it's bc he's a spartan 2. Basically she is his mom
Marcus Douglas:
Uh, Jorge is a Spartan III as are the rest of Noble Team.
Peter Wright no he isn't Jorge was the only spartan II on noble team wich is why halsey was so confused as to who noble team was and that's also why she says what have you done to my armor
Peter Wright Jorge is a Spartan 2. He was abducted by Halsey in 2517 at only 6.
amuraby hernandez: After fact checking with the Halo wikia, I concede that Jorge was a Spartan II.
That's the sense I got, honestly. Hell, I know 343 actually were thinking of leaving Jun dead for a long time. I wish they'd stuck with that.
I actually liked the fact that june became a recruiter for the spartan 4's. I honestly don't think all of noble team would have died on reach. They're spartans after all. Atleast one... Maybe 2 (cough cough *noble 6* cough) should have survived.
@@qm43
I hate that Buck became a SPARTAN. The rivalry between SPARTANs and ODSTs is huuuuge. It came from Chief beating a number of ODSTs to death in a gym brawl instigated to test the augmentations. He should have told Jun to stuff it and fuck off.
Lmao Jun was forgotten.
@@Mortablunt A lot of that animosity was based on second hand knowledge though. Buck worked directly with Spartans, (and not even the same generation of Spartans that caused that feud, not that Buck would know that) so he had a bit more experience with them than the average ODST and likely would be more accepting of them.
I remember seeing a guy saying and I quote “ Reach could have been stopped if Arbiter show up cuz he’s cool with the Spartans lol” which literally makes 0 sense considering Reach came before Halo 1 CE

VelocityMusic They had better characterized in other works. Halo 5 didn't portray them well and you do know Buck from ODST right?
Considering the terrible execution of story and lore that 343i has implemented, this seems absolutely plausible.
VelocityMusic Buck is human
chris pearson not off the top of my head unfortunately, but do some digging of your own I highly encourage, many of my friends have gone to 343 offices as we're part of a large faction of the 405th, and so they bring many of us to events in our armor or let us tour the place, so some have gotten info leaked here and there to them. the first obvious thing is the story is a rush job obviously, and almost completely ignores the events of halo 4.
You may disagree, but I want a "second reach" the armour customization and multiplayer modes are some of my favourites
It would be badass if we got an Onyx game or something but I doubt 343 would ever be that cool

I did actually think that Jorge called Halsey mom before the subtitles corrected me but not because I thought he was her son. Just thought it was a nod to her being the creator of the Spartan II program and he saw her as a kind of mother like figure you treat with respect.
Same
Yeaaa they really should of had the voice actor do a second take cuz I think we all thought he said mom tbh
You're telling me he didn't say mom 😂😂😂
That elite that stabbed Noble 6 actually was using his energy gauntlet if you look closer, his energy sword got knocked out of his hand lol
I was talking about the Elite in the foreground, no the one doing the stabbing.
Halo Canon oh I see now, my bad
There is the possibility that noble six grabbed the elites hand, due to the fact that he was using an energy gauntlet
Barbatos DoesAnything great!
while possible, noble 6 was the master cheif of the spartan 3s. he knew what to do. i bet he ment into a mine in reach to surviv like the rest of the survivers
Read Halo: Noble Six. if you can't be bothered to read the whole book just read the last line of the book.
In the German translation of Reach, Jorge straight up addresses Halsey as “Mother”.
Lol, localizing department messed up on that one.
We get mistakes like that all the time in Spanish dubbing as well
still makes enough sense
In the Spanish translation of Halo 3, when the Arbiter says "Were it so easy" at the end of the game, he actually says "It was too easy". Totally ruining one of the most important lines of the game. Nobody that played the game on Spanish made the connection to the start of the game when the Arbiter originally said "Were it so easy", because in that occasion the translation was correct.

Really enjoyed this one. I didn't even know about the one with Jorge or Thel. This community can get some REALLY strange ideas sometimes.
the time between game releases is similar to a hiatus on a good show. people get bored and "creative"
Thesk 'Darram yeah the thing with Thel I think is something fans just wanted to be a thing so they went for the best straw they could grab at the time
Arbiter is clearly right handed. As you can tell literally any time he pulls out an energy sword even when you aren't playing as him.
The Arbiter has been right handed since Halo 2. You know, when we first find out he was at Reach and then becomes the Arbiter in that game, then almost immediately after we PLAY as said Arbiter?
chris pearson I believe that was just a spin-off thing just for fun.
Noble 6 _could_ have survived, but _canonically_, he's dead. So IMO fanfictions that have Six surviving are fine, but he won't (or rather, shouldn't) appear in canon material, because he is dead in canon.
There's no way in hell six could have survived lol
Dothurnaax That's why it's called a "what-if scenario." "LOL"

Six isn’t dead, he just missing in action..
I like to think that Noble 6 would be able to survive against fighting the elites but he definitely would have died shortly after because of the glassing or just being injured and bleeding to death
Misconception 1: at 2:22, Jorge is Noble 5, not Noble 4. Noble 4 is Emile.

In mcc there’s an achievement for reach when you do the Easter egg it say “See he IS in the game” that was master chief

@@powerchordgamer no it was not. I've actually got it on 360 and there is no achievement.
Why on earth do people even want Noble 6 to be alive? it would completely ruin the ending to Reach
lesbian Duck yea but bringing back cortana ruined halo 4's ending and also noble 6 is a complete BADASS.He is like the master chief of the spartan IIIs
+RazorEdgeLoki 1
You do realize that that is not even the actual cortana right? It's just one of the fragments that were split off from the original close to the end of halo 5. So cortana is dead.
cody morris yea but still that would be like cloning noble 6
Halo CE or Halo 3 misconceptions would be a good idea. And I guess Halo 4 too.
And Halo 5 Guardians.
more of these in general would be cool
fuck it, just all of them lol
TellisTorterra Why ?
quma 25 Because why not?
Also keep in mind that at the time of Reach, Thel'Vadam would have had the gold armor of a general, as seen early in Halo 2, and no such gold general elite is seen in the final moments of Noble Six's life.
I love how he's like " no matter how you put it Jorge is dead" it's so harsh
jorge was hungarian, not british...
He has a British accent though.
Killer Orca it's totally not British at all.. it's an Eastern European accent
xAmRcNx I disagree, it sounds like a British accent to me.
Was he Hungarian? He wasn't even born on Earth.
John Fukrem No, he was born on Reach, but Reach did have a significant number of Colonists from Hungary originally.
What a breath of fresh air. Why did I even bother subscribing to halo follower when this is the real halo fan channel. the guys over at halo follower can't even pronounce sigma octanus IV, let alone discuss its relevance to specific story points.
Brad Smith is Halo Follower also the one that pronounces Forerunner like "foreigner?". I just have to say that is beyond infuriating.
I don’t know too many details regarding this, but a lot of people say the head guy of that channel (Chris) is a big time dick and screwed over a lot of people at the channel.
Brad Smith except for how Halo Canon pronounces Thel Vadam....
Other than that this was awesome stuff
Prophets awaken was the only good guy that halo followed picked up in their roster
What?
TheLegend27 it’s gritty, more realistic, and a military styled HALO game. The armor is incredible. It’s all around amazing.
@Joseph A'Costa imo H2 had best story and H3 had best matchmaking gameplay.

Halo canon, literally every video I absolutely love, you put so much effort into your vids and they are always an enjoyment :)
And yes, I'd love to see some more misconceptions :p
Not only is the Arbiter dominant-hand argument irrelevant and baseless, but the Elite's armor is clearly red, where the Arbiter's was a gold/yellow color as we see in Halo 2. I doubt he would just up and change armor colors as the colors distinguish ranks, like the rest of the Covenant forces
Darth Cerebus Listen, it would be cool ok😂
Masterpotato Yeah.. Sorta connects the whole cycle of characters, you know?
HaloCannon was refering to the Elite that is closest to the camera that we can only see the foot and tip of sword.
Darth Cerebus In Reach, didnt zealots have red armor?
I'm with you. I much preferred the story in the book.
theoriginalemim Same story told from different perspectives.
Same overall narrative, yes, but I preferred the characters and plot of the book.
theoriginalemim I see what you're saying.
8:45 Gave me the chills.
This was so professional, and I enjoyed every minute

the thought of noble 6 surviving was a chance missed Imo. we didn't really need or want locke. he's a shit character. but if you had noble 6 hunting down master chief, then even that shit show of a story in halo 5 would've been better.
And I thought Locke was a different generation spartan?
Jammy Joe I think Locke is a really good character. He has a backstory, personality and motivations.
Or jun, he might think that his whole team died just for chief since they had to get cortana and give it to the Autumn. That would be cool
Wait, I thought Jorge was Noble 5?
that's his callsign in Noble Team
You are correct, the call signs were purely based on what numbers they were on Noble Team. All the Spartans including the III's have proper numbers on their tags that indicate their numbers. Jorge's is 052 like how John's is 117.
Woops, misspoke :P
Emile is Noble 4, and Jorge is Noble 5
Wasn't Jorge Hungarian though?
The Rouge Warlord No? He wasn't born on earth, he was born on reach from what I remember.
The actor themselves is English.
personally Halo reach is The Best Halo
Cool theory my brothers and I thought up while playing Reach. What if the Zealots that are present in (almost) all of Noble Teams' death scenes are actually the same Zealot, and he's just highly skilled/lucky in each of these encounters with the Spartans? I know it doesn't hold much water, but it was fun thinking about it throughout the campaign.

It's not a topic I've been eager to cover just because I don't know a lot about guns.
I am confused by the extreme differences between guns in different games though.
Especially the Assault rifle from reach compared to CE.

Noble 6 and Jorge was one of the most endearing Spartans because they were friendly yet still Spartans...understandably it’s hard to let go of such characters. No wonder the two became buddies during the fall of Reach.

So I grew up saying mom assuming everyone in the UK did as well. It's confusing.
Huh, today I learned. I actually remember some Brits saying Jorge said "Mom", and finding it really confusing since, as I understood, mum was the common word in England. Thanks for the lesson!
You're the first person who said they were sick and had me say "holy shit HE DOES SOUND DIFFERENT "
SIX'S BODY WASN'T FOUND OOoOoOOooOoOooOoOOooOoOooH SIX IS AAALIVE *Cough* definitely not sarcastic *Cough Cough*
You realize that the trope of "Not dead unless the body is found" applies here, right? I hope Noble 6 lived.
I just love looking into lore within video games and TV-series etc.. It just feels like a game where you shoot random things until you get more in depth with lore of the game / Series, Everything just seems more personal and amazing, dont know why xD
Anyhow, Great video!
It's so damn stupid.
chris pearson
Well, now that you've mentioned it, 343 Guilty Spark used to be of organic material before being turned into a forge monitor.
Legends was actually one of 343's earliest projects.
ffffffffuck my life XD
“Ma’am” is used like “Sir” to address higher ranking people in the british military. Its also used to address important people like the queen.
It's also good to mention that the arbiter before becoming the arbiter had gold armor and in the reach cutscene the elites armor is red
One misconception is that some people think that reach is a bad game. This is incorrect.
But didn’t all spartan 2 call Halsey “mom”?? And jorge is a 2
But what do I know...
damn timeline always getting fucked up
My favorite Halos
1.) Halo CE: Nostalgia combined with the game blowing my mind with gameplay I haven't experienced yet.
Its amazing, the camera angles used in Reach are so good. Without a doubt Reach was the best Halo in terms of visual storytelling.
Notification squad!
ULTRAMANZX fuck you
bush bunyip Maybe I'd like that ;)
+ULTRAMANZX Go on then
Bungee purists? Don’t you mean OG players?
343 canon isn't canon, period
It is
I agree 343 killed halo there fore anything they publish should not be cannon
12:30 is it just me, but why does the Data storage unit that cortana was on looks a lot like the Oxygen Destroyer
I like to think that all sangheili are ambidextrous, which is why most covenant weapons are perfect for duel wielding
Jun i thought was dead, based on a line in the book "fall of reach" at the end, where a covenant communique mentions capturing a vessel on reach where a "demon" traded his life to save "hers". i may be slightly off in my remembrance of the line(i cant find the book in my disaster area of a room)
6 very much died. i think where some people draw hope is that Halsey was still, canonically, on Reach at that time.
Halsey was refering she didn't like the modifications the UNSC did to MJOLNIR armors Noble used.
She created MJOLNIR armor to *avoid* such changes
MrAvakstone92 ok but Jorge is the only beefy Spartan we know of so there could be some minor modifications to his armour. you never know
Destroying Laban Sam and Douglas are just as tall as Jorge and they weren't any modificatiins to their armors.... :/
I always thought Jorge called Halsey mom cause she was really the only motherly figure he would have had growing up (being a Spartan 2 and all)
I don't know that it makes any sense for the Autumn to have returned to the surface just to pick up Cortana.
