Just watched your other vid, glad you did this update, as I was going to use a portable air con. I just didn't want to cut a hole in the side for a window unit. and I'm not putting a hole in my roof. Just purchased a 94 Coleman Destiny model that's well taken care of and I don't want to start butchering on it. I may still try a port. AC as I already have two in the house, and we live in the northern US. Thanks again for the updated vid.
Thank for the update. I bought a 2004 hybrid travel trailer and we cleaned the canvas alot. The back looks better than the front, and we are gonna buy geckos for the pop outs anyway, but i loved your video showing that it can be painted. What is the name of the color you used? Had you kept the box for the portable ac you could have returned it. Or sell it on market place. You can also use those floor fans, which aids the ac and moves air around. Your baby has gotten bigger and so cute.
Great video, Me and my wife bought a popup today and i was thinking of painting my canvas, i was also going to buy a stand up portable AC. So ill be goimg with the window unit on ours as well.
Thanks for the info I want to paint the inside of my tent trailer like you guys did but I don't know what kind of material it is it's a Jayco Eagle I'm definitely going to do the window AC thing like you guys said thanks for telling me the stand up on wasn't good enough because that was the way I was going to go I just wanted to say again thank you for making the movie that's awesome
Do you got rain on canvas after painting or spray a lot of water on it to see the reaction? Did you get hard time to apply the paint because of water repilant on canvas? Thanks Your subject is very interesting and nice to see your family participate
Hey thanks for the comment! We have been rained on several times in the camper and it did not affect the canvas at all! As far as applying the paint to the canvas feel free to check out this video. Our canvas was older and honestly I could tell the water repellant had worn off. So I had no issue painting it ruclips.net/video/nw2_BMjHbvA/видео.html
As a professional house painter this paint is amazing!! Works great in repel water!! Just bought a 1978 jayco were gutting it to look just like yours! Can't wait!
Do you leave the AC hooked up and sticking out as you are pulling it on the road? ... and is it left there while the camper is being stored for the off season?
Are you referring to the external lift system? More manual labor to lift, but not as heavy and no cranking 40 times to get it popped up. They are more rare and seem to be gone from Pop ups made after the 1980's. We had an 88 Palomino Pony with that system.
I bought a boat hatch and put in side of my camper for ac. Way cheaper than RV door and better built. I did the portable ac at first too. Big waste of money.
You said the roof didn't stick the paint well? What would you use instead. TY, just staring on my soon to be pink palace and your videos were so helpful and inspiring.
Thank you for commenting! The hard top roof of the camper stuck very well but the vinyl roof for the pull outs did not stick at all. I actually did not paint them because I saw how poorly the paint stuck to the vinyl on the side by the door. If I were going to try and paint the vinyl again, maybe I would use an oil based primer like kills on it but even still I’m not sure if that would work. Vinyl is a very hard surface to get paint stick to.
@@82johnwblack yeah I think I talked about that in the video. Honestly I can’t remember I haven’t watched the video in a while. The old set up didn’t cool it very well.

Did you seal the canvas after painting it? Is it still water resistant?
Thanks for trying and succeeded with the canvas painting. Love your honesty about the AC. Great job

Is your AC sticking out like that when you go down the road , or do you bring it inside Just curious ..
Thank you for the update, I really want to paint the canvas. Great job!
Thank you very much! If you have any questions let me know!
@@ColtenBethel, can you post a link to the type of paint you used?

Have you looked at using paint made for painting vinyl furniture for the vinyl parts?

@@donnaengrem4681 good question! We do pull it out when towing and storing
What type of paint did you use on the interior canvas? Is it the same as the exterior.
You are correct. We used the same on inside and out
@@ColtenBethel thanks so much I appreciate that

What color did you use for the paint? Name of paint color?

Did the acrylic paint leave a smell 👃?
Not at all! I believe that paint is very low voc.
How many BTUs is the AC. Is that a 5k?
