Just because some successful people have done drugs at one point doesn't mean that its okay. Everybody makes mistakes. I know some people that used to smoke, have quit, and now realize how stupid of a decision it was to have started in the first place. It doesn't matter that it's been here a while either, it doesn't make it any better.
Alcohol is different because not only is it not illegal, but drinking it at least shows some respect to others, whereas drugs like weed create a horrible smell that disrupts others at a considerable distance. Also, of course it's up to me to decide what's good or bad. If I don't make decisions for myself, who will?
