Hi guys.... this experiment has already evolved into something which has absolutely blown my mind.....vid coming soon! ❤ Quick Disclaimer...... very important one too, do not try this if you have a latex allergy! Stay safe! ❤x
How exciting!! I'm wondering if this will work with glue now or even heavy gel medium to avoid latex allergies?? I wanna play around with this concept myself! I can't wait to see what you have coming! Great video as always Mr. Mad scientist! ❤
@@teariana1 I'm not sure hair gel would dry in a fashion that you could dust it but it's a fun idea to try! I was thinking what if you used foil adhesive? It dries tacky so you could dust it but I'm not sure how it would react on silicone molds.. I'm a what if kinda of girl Daniel always inspires me to think outside the box. Btw I used to paint my hand with glue and peel it off too 😂 over and over! So satisfying 😂
It was a brilliant plan and it almost worked. I know I've seen a few try masking fluid with resin to good effect. It's something artist use while painting.
Another great video😊. Always look forward to watching your channel. Interesting, educating, funny.. Thank you Daniel for keeping it "alive". Never a dull moment and always something new to look forward to... ❤❤❤
As you are talking I realized cornstarch, if you put it into liquid it will clump up. You need to put a little bit of cornstarch into a little of the liquid then introduce it to the rest of the liquid.
Yeah, whenever thickening liquid with cornstarch, put some of the liquid and the starch in a container with a sealing top, then shake hard until you have your slurry which can be mixed into the rest (majority) of the liquid
Hi Daniel! Looks great, even with the bubbles. Great idea to use glitter to diffuse the extra powder ❣️When I was a kid, many many years ago, LOL, we used to put white glue on our palms and peel it off after it dried..😂😂😂
We can always count on you to discover and create incredible ideas! You’re the GOAT of resin art! 😄 I think you’re such a creative spirit and I want to thank you for starting your RUclips channel and more importantly, keeping every episode new and fun! 👏🥰
Save yourself some time and use some scotch (cello) tape or packing tape to clean the dried latex off the stencil! Cool and I would say successful experiment!
I comment then read the other comments and it made me smile when quite a few had said similar thing about enjoying peeling glue off skin, this again makes your experiment to your fans that like to peel ☺️
At the very end, when you showed the depth of the 2nd one...instantly my mind started thinking of adding a clear layer. That depth with a dome top?! The 3d aspect is creating things in my mind. ❤
You can get latex thickener and extender as well as thicker versions. Yours is thin as it's designed for thin application and layers rather than being a paste for eg: casting/moulding, so there may be other products out there as an alternative. I really like the ghost pigments you used and your creativity never ceased to amaze me
Toujours et encore plus magnifique , tu es incroyable Dan , quel artiste et quelles inventions tu nous partages ... Merci merci pour ces moment tant attendu !! 🥰🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
It reminds me of the Art back in tge 70's (?) Where shell & opal type material inlayed on a black background to create a picture. My mum had a cat one hanging in her art room
Awesome idea, Daniel I love the way your brain thinks😂 can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Thank you so much for sharing. Have an awesome day.
So now I have to try this, even if it is to pick off the latex 🤣 There isn't anything more satisfying🤭 Another superb example of your genius - so many possibilities!!! Nice one Prof!👏🎊🎉🏆
I like the texture it leaves, great idea. I would guess you're right about the mat, even though I have no idea what happens to latex when it's fried in resin 😂 Looking forward to the follow up, Happy Thursday ✨✨
You have such a creative mind! I so enjoy watching you create using some wonderful new idea. Thank you, so for sharing these wonderful ideas. I watch lots of folks using your ideas and always giving you credit. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely love this… so much game play 🎉🎉. I have my notification button on and sometimes I don’t get the notification 😭 like this video… I nearly missed it 😩
Hey, just realized that rubber cement would work like the latex! Just brush it on and peel it off! Not sure but the last time I saw it sold was at an art store for framing pictures with the matting.
Hi Daniel. I was thinking: might be easier to put the cornflour in the cup then add the liquid latex until you’re happy with the consistency. Also, you can go to any kitchen shop and buy very tiny whisks. I’m sure it would make your life so much easier 😉 I have a feeling that ordinary flour might work, as well as arrowroot powder or potato starch. I love your final results. Thank you for all the tutorials and information you share with us. 💐❣️
Wow oh wow, Daniel, that is stupendous❣️Truly Kudos, to you & your genius mind. The only think I wish you would have do. Not necessarily on camera, but I wish you would have shown it completely finished with a topcoat. I think it would have showed off more of the 3D effects or am I wrong? Have a fantastic weekend!👍🤗💗
Just an idea, but if you substituted UV putty for the latex, you could colour both sides and have the design as a 3D object. You could then suspend that between two layers of resin (using the template to lay it out).
Hi Daniel, I use liquitex gloss gel swiped over stencils on my finished fluid artwork, it will dry fast and hold its shape, you can mix pigment powders, flakes or the like into it. You could alternatively sprinkle on top as it is drying, then lift the stencil when firm enough, hope that helps. I use Liquitex brand but I’m sure any other would work.
You can buy thicker latex by searching for a brush grade latex (it's used for mould making), or you can buy latex thickener if you wanna use up what you've already got. I do always like seeing your experiments though!
I do something similar with glass bead gel. It drys clear or can be colored. It has a beautiful sparkle when it’s dry. It’s cost more but looks gorgeous.
Wow! I don't know what on earth you'll be up to next, but I can guarantee you that I can hardly wait to find out! Thank you for another great tutorial!
I've used cornstarch to thicken latex, and what I found is that if i leave it for a bit (in an air-tight container, obviously), it will continue to thicken some more. I would try leaving it a bit before adding more and see if you get a better viscosity. And btw, i love this technique.😊
Danielle you were absolutely amazing and you are just about the only resin artist I watch I think this is a fabulous idea and I see you struggling by stirring this product what if you mixed it using a pedestal and mortar then you wouldn’t have the clumps I can’t wait for your next video
Hi Daniel I watched your video last night and thought how amazing it came out. I'm a card maker and wondered if you could use a versamark ink pad which is a clear sticky ink to do the same technique using stamps. As you can do the same technique on cards. So you would ink your stamp or stencil with versamark ink which you can also get in a pen style stamp it onto the mold and put your powder on. Just a thought! 😀. I might try this myself perhaps with uv resin on a small item to see if it works. 🤷
I used to put white glue on my skin and peel it off... Probably a universal kid thing 😂😂😂 I can imagine you don't even need a stencil, you could freehand a design, then color it on once it dries.
I really like the idea of having texture with the mica/nail powders. Liquid latex as you know is used by artists to block areas. It's been awhile so I can't remember if I just used a gum rubber eraser to remove it but something like that. Personally I prefer the texture of the first one, and I was thinking you could add veins in the leaves and that corrugated surface of the trunk and etc. Rock on!
You could try using a rubber eraser to clean it out of the resin, I think. It would work the same as using what you've already peeled, but it would be more stiff and easier to get started maybe?

Could you not just use copydex glue?
As kids, we used to spread school white glue in our palms , let dry a peel off our hands hopefully in a whole sheet....satisfying
See that's the good part about having kids, you still get to do it when you're older. 😀 I love when school starts and have to get school supplies. 😃
Yes, loved doing that too 😂😂
I used Elmer's glue and let it dry then peeled that off. Seriously satisfying 😌
Did you use the glue with the cornstarch? (Instead of liquid latex?)
100% 😂
Oh Prof you and your lab have struck gold yet again. If the was an Olympic event for experimental crafting you would deffo get the gold medal 🥇
Agreed
@@Coyo-Tea Hi, instead of corn starch try xanthan gum. See if that works better.

Pva glue and cornstarch together. Maybe?
