For those molds with a matte finish, just spray em with a gloss top coat! I have a few molds that have lost their shine and a quick top coat with a spray works great!
I LOVE this fabric in resin - I've mainly used neon chiffon, neon net is also amazing! GLOWs so beautifully in UV! but the non neon colours are really beautiful in resin too!
Those are absolutely gorgeous!! I agree that the second set is much better.... The colors are not so over powering. Stay safe, you do you, protect yourself, stay strong and stay crafty 👍👍🔔🔔🦋🦋
Oooooooh that is too beautiful! Steve, you're a genius, I love these. I can't wait to go and dig up some old scarves and things. Those little ripples are so subtle, but so pretty!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Steve, loved these. They looked like they were full of colored smoke swirling around. Thanks for all you do with your experiments. It really does help those of us new to resin.
I love them all but especially the second skull. I definitely think less is more with the chiffon technique. I'm looking forward to trying it myself xx
I love the blue skull and pink turtle! Might be fun to mix in some cloudy swirls of white here and there, maybe some alcohol inks, to help the folds pop more. Or maybe try different colors of fabric since you ended up cutting different pieces anyway. Btw, anyone who wants to find this fabric for themselves, look for organza instead of chiffon. Chiffon isn’t quite as see-through or shiny as this stuff, and it usually has at least one matte side. What Steve used looks more like organza which is very translucent and shiny. Organza also tends to hold its shape better while chiffon is more likely to drape, especially silk chiffon. You might also have fun with tulle which is also translucent and holds shape well like organza, but it looks more like a fine net or mesh and tends to be matte or semi-matte. Tulle is what gets used in ballerina tutus and underskirts/petticoats.
Oh my this is great! I have some of that fabric I ordered by mistake and now I’m stuck with it. But you’ve made some beautiful things! I’ve got to try this! Thank you!
One of my upcoming projects is a neon pink skull, I just got the pigment yesterday 🙂 I love that you show us the experimenting and seeing what works and what doesn’t, it really helps people like me who are new to this. Sometimes I get disheartened seeing so many beautiful results others are getting and then I can’t replicate that! I’ll keep trying though lol
Scridgley? Definitely, it's a word...now! 😅 OOH, that blue skull is *GORGEOUS,* Steve! The edges of the chiffon look like waves, or smoke...beautiful! 💕😍 Glitter really looks great in the 2nd set, too! Love the pretty froggy!
These came out very cool, Steve. Another thing to try. :) I’ve been wanting to make a turtle with a set of prayer beads embedded in it. I’ll bet incorporating the chiffon fabric with the prayer beads might be nice. We shall see.
Sierra what a beautiful result! I was kinda concerned about the stickers curling but that made them look like they were floating. How serendipitous! Great job. I miss you telling us stories from your police work experiences 😕.
I never would have thought of putting that material into resin, but boy did it give a stunning result! It made the skull look incredbly beautiflul. I prefer the red skull, it looks more interesting.
Amazing! It's incredible but this morning I've found a peace of the same chiffon and wanted to try it in resin too🤯 I'll try with UV resin because I'm living in Norway and it's too cold right now to work with epoxi, so I have to wait until May-June to start with regular epoxi, but I hope they'll work as well 🤞. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
The frog 💗 I got the giggles every time you said, "Chiffon." On Project Runway S2 e6, one of the designers off screen says,"Where the hell is my chiffon?" 😂
You need to work through all the grits to about 8000-10000 it takes ages. I normally give it a flood coat of resin which will make it glossy again without that amount of sanding.
Perched 4 silicone molds that I thought would make a beautiful resin piece later I figured out the molds are for candle making I don't want to waist my resin if it will not cure or come out of the molds I was hoping you had some information about these kind of molds?? They are silicone so maybe

Interesting. What make do you use please as I've a fiddly mold that could do with that
@mollythorpe3545 any high gloss acrylic spray should work. Clears up headlights after sanding too.
@@mollythorpe3545 I have been using the Krylon clear glaze. I think Steve may have recommended it a while back.

The leaser amounts of chiffon are wispy, rather like smoke. I really love the turtle!
Really like the turtle!
I really like the bubbles in the frog

Wow Steve, I love your second ones and that blue skull looks fabulous. That teeny weeny hint of glitter works well too 😊, another job well done mate 👏
That second batch turned out great. Especially love the blue skull with the glitter! Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Much better with less fabric! Awesome experiment

I live the look of those! How cool!
The blue skull one looks loads better because you can see the ripples from the fabric better. 👍

Brilliant effect on the blue skull 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Wow, your resin kit really is great value - I've just ordered one!
Love the frog xx
Wonderful video! Thanks 🙏
Interesting. I wonder what lace would look like.

Great experiment

Those are so cool. Love it.
Nice work 😊
Another RUclipsr did the same thing last week in a skull and it looked amazing and so does yours.
I didn’t see it, it’s great when more than one person has similar ideas. I recorded this about 5 weeks ago.
That frog is awesome!
Thanks
Love how the second bunch turned out. Love how they ripple and flow. Well done
Mmmmm... Going to have to look for remnants!!!
Love the results!
Cool idea. Thanks 👍👍
These look so cool 😎 😍
The second lot are gorgeous, thanks to your mum for the idea, I’m sure I’ve got chiffon somewhere.

If you gently crinkle the material it’s awesome too
These are beautiful. ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
❤❤❤❤
Hi, Steve maybe you could try dipping the dull ones it might fill in some bubbles and shine them up😂😂 who knows...Good second batch though ❤

🙌
Maybe on the dull molds, could you spray so clear gloss spray paint to get the dull mold shiny?
Pretty cool! I love the ones with a bit of glitter!
Love!!! And love the new word!!! Can't wait to try!
The frog has warts:)
Did you say, "Scriggle"? 🤣😆🤣🤣🤣😆🤣😆👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤭💕

If you want the glitter to really make an impact, could you brush a little PVA glue here and there before sprinkling on your glitter?
Also, gray chiffon would make an incredible smoky effect!
Great idea

Where did you get your base lights please love the video
👍
I'm a newbie btw 😘
I made something but sanded it down as had some marks, how. I get it shiny like glass again? I like shiny 😁

What if you soak the material in resin first to reduce bubbles?
can you recommend glossy molds for chess pieces? I have some but they are not glossy and I like them glossy too.

try the net of orange's, like you i put to much in the mold but it still turned out ok, the next time will be better.
The not shinny bust mols are great with resincrete
Where did you get that turtle mold
Is squidgidly a word? It is now, lol 😂 🤣❤
Still waiting for the promised masterpiece in the title, or was that just click bait?
I see you have such amazing things on your own channel, which of course qualifies you to be so judgemental.
