Got one in a custom sundown audio enclosure hooked up to a dd audio 2500 and she is nasty boy it sounds like a band pass enclosure it hits the lows extremely hard. Thank you for the video
You need to check out the Savard line of subwoofers. The HiQ line is geared towards sound quality. The 12” HiQ sub also has a 30 mm xmax rating, but only weighs 30 pounds. It is also rated at 1,500 watts but can take quit a bit more power. I used to own a 12” HiQ and it was EXTREMELY clean sounding. That was the most common comment that people made to me about that sub. It is clean.

I suppose I am an SQL person as well . I like it loud and for to hit me in the back and the chest , but it's Got to be Clean bass brother 💪😎👌
I just got this sub. Its all or nothing with these. I might go back to the EVL 15. It may pound harder, but at lower volumes this sub is not as responsive. I disagree with everyone on the same wavelenth saying this is an sq sub. Its not. Its decent, but the dynamic separation is not there. I am sure the fan boys are gonna love me.
My current "fav" that I'm running in my test vehicle is a Resilient Sound Gold. I listen to mostly newer metal/rock (think Sirius Octane). It does really well on this type of music. I'd buy the solox over this sub any day of the week. 32 mm of excursion one way, and not only gets loud, but sounds good doing it. I have one solox 12 in a ford escape suv powered by a rockford fosgate t1500-1bdcp. Does a 147db on music under powered.
And that soloX has way more cone area. And I highly doubt it has more throw than the X. The X has 4 inches of throw before bottoming out. That is 100 mm so 50mm one way. Try that with the kicker and your gonna see torn spiders. I've seen quite a few of em when people try and push em. Recommend box tuning is 2.5cuft for the X and 4 cuft for the soloX. Why? Because the solo has more cone area. My U series 18s are 4cuft on air space. Which do I want? 12s or 18s?
@bubbawubba2307 personally I don't push my subs past xmax. I don't know why anyone would push to xmech. The solox 12 recommend air space is three cubic feet. I've always ran 12's with a few 10's here and there. 12's are just what I prefer. My box for my l7x 12 is a bit larger than recommended spec and significantly more port area the recommended spec. It's absolutely absurd for one sub. Everyone that hears it for the first time thinks I have a minimum of two 12's and 4000 watts. Then I pop the hatch show them the sub, box, and amp. All they literally say is "what the f-ck". Before I had the l7 q-class 12. Custom box on the same rockford fosgate t1500-1bdcp gain set to 700 watts. Did a 143db on music. I've never tested to see what either of them did on a burp. Now that I have a high output alt I'm either going to get the rockford 2500 or the new kicker warhorse and see what it will do on rms power.
@erikbritz8095 obviously it's preference. I've never recorded the db meter. Never really thought about it. I do have some videos of my setup playing though. If you'd like to see a solox 12 just one scoring higher than mine. Check out Living Loud With Andy. He doing a 148. If I remember correctly.

Want a big sub that did good and still does both spl and sql and still will out perform most new subs on the market today? Older people will remember and most ageee i think, find you an RE Audio XXX second edition. They still used will cost what alot of the new subs of today cost but worth the money. Also known as the stinger 7 as it finally make JL W7 not be a God above all subs. Idc fact check me on this. Last but not least imo while on my soap box today. Either way have fun doing what makes you happy in your ride in this awesome hobby. Be bleesed everyone and just my opinion not spreading hate towards anyone.
All the X is. Is a low end driver if you want lows then it works buts its so inefficient the pole gap is the size of the grand canyon which is why you need SO much power to power this sub" they can take so much power" that's because they are very inefficient

I've had the Xv3's in my car for over 2.5 yrs now. I can't even find myself to upgrade lol. They're just sooo good! I got a question for ya. My deaf bonce 600.4 took a dump yesterday. You review alot of amps on here, what do you recommend for a powerful 4 channel amp w a budget price?

Here are a couple that are great and not too expensive.
@@HiFiVector thank you so much!🙏
have you ever tried a wolfram 12 Mercury it sez on specs 2000 rms 300 ounce motor 37mm xmax 1 way anyone think the xmax is really 37mm one way just wondering i have 4 of them
I've been pounding the hell out of my 2 XV2 15's on 1 salt 4k for the last two years with no problems yet!!🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
Are you testing the platinumV2
I've got four gauge on my nightshade V5
I had an x 12 on a t2500bdcp hitting 150s on music in a car
Yea great subs for sure. There is no one “best” sub as a lot is personal preference but these are some of the best overall subs in my opinion.
All i got to say is Sundown NightShades.
People still sleeping on the Stereo Integrity SQL 12 Series 2... 😅
What’s up with them I just looked them up and the specs got me thinking I want something sq that’s really good with low end bass I don’t care for super loud higher hz
@@jessebeatty9696 I'm glad you took the time, as I'm glad I did once upon a time too. They're a godsend for SQ, and as the name suggests, can definitely get L as well. From the perspective of specs (and performance) alone, I've yet to find a sub that's as worthy for the cost as them, especially in the below 2500w RMS market. It's incredibly hard _not_ to recommend.
@@RAW_Reality they have a b stock of series 1 or should I wait for the 2 to come out
@@jessebeatty9696 That's completely up to you, and don't think you can go wrong either way. The series 2 being new, they'll sell like hotcakes, so it's a matter of if you can find them in stock. IDK, compare and contrast the differences in WinISD and determine if one model or the other is worth it to you.
Yeah the V3 is rated at 2000 watts RMS, but I was running two of these 12's and TRUST ME the V2 will handle 2000 watts all day long!!!
The v2 can handle 2000 watts rms all day?
People complaining about the price lol. Once you install one and set it up/power it properly not many other brands can beat it. Eye opening once you hear them.
So the Nightshade should sound the same but even more power....
That is a b2 rage i see in the background!!!!❤
Yep that’s next weekend’s video!
@@HiFiVector Thank you so much
There is now way it can out perform my sundown zv6 that guy sets down on the lows
For that much excursion and no spider gasket it's a no from me!
Ive only had 2 sundown subs and they SLAMMED. Had a 2009 Chrysler Sebring 2.7L V6. Big 4 Done 2 batteries and all 2/0 power and grounds. Had a 2k rms old school ish crossfire amp powering 2 SA Classic 12" - 750 Watts RMS subs in a big ass ported box all custom made and braced to the nines. Hit 145.0 DB even on tones. Loudest setup ive ever had by far
@@joefries365 a 2009 Sebring 2.7l lmao. 'nuff said.
@@johnnyh127 oh ya it was silver to
I have the same car 😂 its a 2 door convertible though I'm trying to get my Xv3 18 in it just been getting delayed
Have an x2 10 in a t line that shakes my ride like no other and I'm only running a 600 watt 100$ amp from wally world. It plays 26hz up to 60 or 70hz very loud.
Cant say sound quality with a teramps amp. SQL spends more on an amp than a sub every build i ever seen. Just saying, not trying to hate but this is to educate people and info was inaccurate to what everyone in SQ I have ever known. Either way have fun doing what makes you happy in your ride in this awesome hobby. Be bleesed everyone and just my opinion not spreading hate towards anyone.
" im an sq guy " i run tara amps and spl subs 😂.. nuff said
tune a u series to 32hz... best all around subwoofers ever made
jmo
❤❤
Anybody: I want a 1 ohm load to my amp using 2 subs. Do I need dual 2 or dual 4.
2 dual 4 ohm subs will final at 1 ohm
@@HiFiVector thanks. I will go with this answer because I've been getting both answers
Shilling pretty hard aye?.
Couldnt bother to watch the video aye?
These subs need to be in a box tuned to 28hz
Ummm...the x series is awesome but the zv6 is much better
Lol its not the best but its good 💯
700 no thanks
It's all subjective folks don't get your panties in a bunch LOL
Zv6 is better
All the X is. Is a low end driver if you want lows then it works buts its so inefficient the pole gap is the size of the grand canyon which is why you need SO much power to power this sub" they can take so much power" that's because they are very inefficient
Ya... my Nsv5 12s are SUPER inefficient on my salt 8 @ .5 🤣
Re Xxx >>>Sundown X
We're joking right? 84db sensitivity? Lol. Pass. Thing needs at least 1000w to even get moving. At low volumes it sounds like hot garbage.
You obviously haven’t tried one of these so really shouldn’t judge when you have no experience with it. This sub actually does great on low wattage. I have a video coming out soon with this sub on a $99 lanzar 600 watt bumping hard. Watch it when it comes out and your will see what I mean.
Come on bro don't be at sundown sell out
I’m not dude. I got nothing ever from sundown. I paid for my sundown x subs. Fact is they are just one …..of my favorite subs. I have other favorites as well but these are definitely in my top list. You should know I am not a fanboy lol I like many brands. Even the brands that are less cool like Soundstream, Hifonics, skar. If a product is good I will say it’s good and I will like it no matter what the brand name is. But same goes for if the product sucks.if it sucks then I won’t like it no matter how cool the brand name. :)
Made in CHINA! One look at the basket..... SKAR uses the same one on certain models.
Cool kicker is made in china too
hmmm the xv2 isnt all that great. maybe the v3 is much better. After getting the resilient sounds platinum 15's I aint lookin back
Buddy how is the platinum so far?
@ I love them. Just took them out last night and stripped wall down. Doing a rebuild for 12 15 platinums.
